    Chili cheese fries
    Alma A.

We were looking for a quick breakfast spot in Glendale and came across Troy's. This place is quick, friendly and very decently priced. We ordered 2 orders of chili cheese fries and a bacon & egg sandwich with a couple of drinks. Everything came out to $30, which is awesome! Staff were friendly and service was pretty quick. The restaurant was plenty busy, so we knew it was a hidden gem. The chili was great and the cheese pull was fantastic. The next time I order, I'll ask for the fries to be well done but otherwise, really delicious. The bacon & egg sandwich was tasty, as well. If you're looking for quality at a great place, I'd definitely recommend Troy's.

I was in the area and came here for a quick bite. I got a bacon cheeseburger and it was so juicy and well seasoned! Good prices and great customer service. I would definitely be a regular if I lived closer.

This place has saved me on a couple occasions. I'm usually in the area pretty early and my choices are limited. This place is an oasis among the lack of delicious spots early in the morning. I believe they have a drive thru, but I always make sure to eat inside. The ambiance is old school. Like any traditional burger spot! The service is pretty good! The person at the register and the cook are super friendly and helpful. I've tried many of their breakfast dishes and even burgers (yes for breakfast!... don't judge). It's all been good! My two favorites are their chicken sandwiches and breakfast burritos! The burritos are huge and flavorful. Definitely worth trying. The parking lot is big enough but I imagine it can get full later in the day. A good spot for breakfast!

Was craving chili cheese fries for lunch and found this place near my office. The place is small but busy. The staff was friendly and my order was out in 5 minutes . I had a large chili cheese fry order and a regular cheeseburger. Both were outstanding !! Next time I'll try either the double cheeseburger or the pastrami .

    Pastrami very good

I have been craving a good pastrami sandwich and Troy's Drive-in hit the spot! The slices were perfectly cut, tender, juicy and flavorful and this was every bite. The bread was good and pickles and mustard was proportioned correctly. The double bacon cheeseburger was good as well. We will return.

Prices aren't bad. Cheap eats. Double check your order!!

They don't SALT their food; ask for salt on the side / you'll need it! Burgers are decent. I got a DOUBLE cheeseburger and they stacked the fixings (lettuce, tomato, onions, cheese, etc) in the middle between two patties, kinda odd but it tasted alright. The tuna melt was more of a tuna sandwich;however, he didn't care and said it was good. Fries are fries and onion rings were good - again needs ))))SALT(((!! Guys that work here are friendly, food comes out pretty quick and it's inexpensive. Probably will not be back soon, if so I'd get the breakfast items instead, you can't mess up breakfast- I think.

Me and my bf decided we wanted to good hamburger and stopped by here late one evening. It was late when we showed up maybe 11pm and the location was about empty maybe another group there and the tv's were showing old soccer games. We both ordered a double cheese burger, both combos and enjoyed the location to ourselves while watching the soccer game.

The food tastes ok but they don't listen too well. It's my second time trying to get a breakfast burrito with easy potato/hash brown. It was mostly potato and a crazy amount of cheese. I asked 3 times just to make sure and they still messed it up.

WHEN: Tue @7pm…read more Located in a small plaza, while there is free parking, it's also quite limited with it being share with other business establishments. However, since we came at night time where most of them were closed, we got parking right in front. This spot is more of a take-away place, with 6 counter seatings indoors, and maybe 3 chairs right out front. This tiny burger spot seems to be run by just one person, so it helps that you can self-order at their kiosk. He was very attentive juggling between cooking the made-to order items, and check in on the costumers in case they had questions. After placing my order at their one device, it was roughly a 15 minutes wait. Here's what we ordered: CHEESEBURGER - $9.90 High-quality beef patty smashed with grilled onions, serviced on a toasted Martin's potato bun and topped with pickles and their fry sauce. I really enjoyed this rich tasting burger. I think that fry sauce was a huge factor...but also that soft bun...and that flavorful beef patty. I really enjoyed this. FRIES - $5.25 Golden Thing-Cut Fries. Perfect. I mean this was made to order so they were warm, crispy and so dang good! It's how fries everywhere should be! I was hoping to come back during my trip in LA, but it's okay, it won't be the last time I visit.

The crispy lace edges, the juicy center, the grilled onion, the slightly spicy sauce, the slightly sweet bun...all dreamworthy! Their sweet potato fries aren't all that great to look at, but omg, always perfectly cooked and salted! Perfectly complimented with the fry sauce. All that said, we were disappointed when we received our last order: 1. Packaging change (paper wrapped instead of cardboard box for the burgers) robbed the craveable edges of their crispness. Plus there was so much grease on the paper wraps it actually made it messier to eat than before. 2. The sauce has changed. The spice level increased (still not too spicy), but a side of sauce (which you pay more than a $1 for) is now sent in a premade branded packet. I have zero issues paying extra for a good sauce made fresh in-house, but instead of tasting like a fresh sauce made with mayo and spices, it now tastes of oil and spices and is not nearly as tasty. We noticed the difference on the burgers as well, so it seems like their sauce is all premade now and not nearly as good.

The shrimp may be my favorite with carne asada a close second. Also, I normally steer clear of chipotle aioli because it usually just tastes of mayo, but the sauce here is very balanced and chipotle forward. Nice picnic tables here or even better take it to the parklet right outside the lot.

Having never been to a Fosters location, my daughters and I were looking for a little treat at the end of the day and we thought we'd check it out to see how the venerable brand compared to the Wanderlust, Jenni's, Salt & Straw locations we are accustomed to. The location is simple, old fashioned (see photos), and run-down. We got a sprinkle and strawberry sundaes ($4.79 each). The ice cream (or ice milk) is more solid than soft serve, and has a slightly different flavor. Personally, I was not a fan, and I consider this a step below McDonald's, which has a stronger vanilla flavor and creamier texture. The toppings and whipped cream were similarly generic and unremarkable. Overall, I was not impressed by Fosters. The whole thing lacked some careful preparation and looked like someone in the place punched down on it. Oh well. Tasted like a BK Whopper. The vanilla soft serve ice cream cone dipped in their patented chocolate sauce that hardens into a shell about the ice cream? Heaven sent. Perhaps the best I've ever had. The ice cream was simple and cold and smooth on the tongue, somehow rich and subtle in flavor simultaneously. Hey, it was just vanilla after all. The chocolate shell you crunch through with each bite was fun, tasty, and made the ice cream even better. The whole cone as handed to me just looked perfect too. If you love fried chicken, you cannot go wrong eating here. The service i have mixed opinions. Most all of the employees are friendly. Maybe too friendly. Part of the reason for their long line would be the talkative cashiers. There is a way to chat up the customer while still keeping things moving along, but I've not seen it once while there; the chicken is that good that I put up with my least favorite thing at a restaurant--unnecessary conversation that adds to the wait time. The ambiance is also not my favorite. It's too loud in there. The music could be a touch lower--I'm there to eat, not be at the club--and the top notch cooks in the back yell a lot. I will say that the yelling appears to keep them upbeat, positive, and motivated; I see the value in it, yet it's the reason I get delicious chicken to go. They have a clean bathroom, a parking lot in back, and some of the best chicken in the Greater Los Angeles area. My mouth waters when I even begin to think about going there. The chicken is fantastic. Heat levels go from Country (almost zero spice) to their 6th level of hell they call 'Howlin' level. If you're psychotic enough you can have the 7th level of hell 'Howlin+' and '++". I' will warn you that 'Howlin' level is damn hot. You need to be 18 or older to order and you sign an aknowledgement saying you know. It has a bite. If you like spicy and love to keep your tastebuds, I recommend Medium or Medium +. I also prefer their tenders over the chicken with bone. But to each their own. During the summer heat, they provide sun blocking umbrellas for those waiting in line. Peak hours, you will need to wait for seating and someone there will assist you. They also offer free still water and soda water. Place is clean and inviting. The staff is damn awesome. All are friendly and they tend to remember your usual order if you go often enough. I usually go once or twice a week. Prices are typical. Better than that 'other' spicy chicken joint. And they are only open from Wednesday to Sunday, 11am - 7pm. During the three weekdays, the first hour and the hours between 4 to 5 usually have fewer people in line. All and all great spicy chicken, price is decent, and worth the 30-minute wait.

Imagine my surprise when I stepped inside to find an extremely pared down version of what used to be there. As I am finding with many fast food places, you have to order from a kiosk. Since I was only need a little something to eat, I ordered a McDouble. Upon checkout, it asked me to grab a table number and enter it. There were no table numbers to grab. Strike one! Then I went to grab the receipt and it was out of paper. Strike two!! I took a seat and waited, anxiously keeping an eye out for my order since I had no table number. After a few minutes, I head someone shout out "McDouble" so I headed to the counter and retrieved my order. So much for bringing it to my table. Strike three!!! I opened my sandwich and found the thinnest, smushed McDouble I have ever eaten. the patties themselves were so thin, my thumbnail was wider than the two patties. And the top of the bun seemed like it had been pressed down so much it was barely thicker than the two patties. The burger itself was lukewarm and barely edible. Before you jump up and say "It's McDonalds. What did you expect"?, please know that I have eaten McDoubles plenty of times in the past. Not only was this was a poorly executed example, it is obvious that McDonalds is shrinking its patties and raising its prices. Same thing happened to their Fish Sandwich. First they started giving you a half slice of cheese and then they switch to a smaller rectangle of fish rather than the square one you used to get. Sadly, this will probably be my last McDonalds meal. I can get much better food for the same price at other local places.
