I love Everest. They used to have one in Glendale until it was closed down for a starbucks (as if Glendale needed another starbucks). The one in La Crescenta is worth the drive because it's that good. Their burgers are that classic , homestyle , thick patty which I love. Any of their burgers are a go-to for me. What I especially love is their fried mushrooms. No other place does it like them and for the price you pay , you get so much and worth the value. Service is always good. The employees take your orders fast and food comes out relatively fast as well. Ambiance is nice. Just a classic burger spot vibe. Can't go wrong. Overall , sad that the Glendale location closed but driving to La Crescenta is worth it for Everest. read more

I always get the carne asada fries and fried zucchini from here. Im a ranch hater, but I've been told that the ranch is very good from here. The Carne Asada fries are served in a generous portion however, I do not recommend eating them as leftovers. Usually I love this place. But a few nights ago i tried to call in my order and the man who answered immediately said, can you hold. I was on hold for 10 minutes and hung up. I drove up a few minutes later and saw said man sweeping. I stood at the area where poeple go to order and no one was in line or waiting..I stood there for five minutes and he finally cam back behind the register and said what can I get you. I looked at him and said ya know I called and you put me on hold and left me hanging there so long I had to hang up. He says sorry with no sincerity in his voice. I then also ordered my mom's turkey sandwich and a small shake. He said the shake ia only one size. I said oh I saw here on your menu that it says small medium and large. He said wow that is such an old menu. I handed it to him and said could you give me a new one please. He said no we dont have any. I said ok. And it cost a bit over $20. He made my shake and i paid and waited. Soon enough my bag of food came and I drove home... I get out my two tacos and they have no cheese and no cilantro. Made me so angry I felt the owner should know his worker sucks. I will be not coming here for a few months. I can get tacos a lot of places and they do not leave me waiting on hold forever. I love their food and it's a great spot for quick, good food. I've been here many times and had good experiences. However today came in with my parents. We ordered two turkey burgers. When we paid we asked for the senior discount. 5 minutes after ordering she comes over and tells me they only have one turkey burger left. So I say fine, givee the same thing I ordered but with a chicken breast. She says okay. Then comes back over and says I owe $1.86 more because the chicken breast is more. AND when I looked at the receipt she had not given us the senior discount. I paid the extra but but that's just poor management. It's your fault for not having what I ordered, you already charged me. I've been here once in awhile last time I was here perhaps 6 months ago... then I paid tips if I felt like, comparing to other burger places they don't have tipping, but if they do they don't force you to pay... today I came ordered steak sandwich, they first strictly directed me to pay their tip on a different screen, then they directed me to tap pay on a different charging component! Everest was really good 10 years ago. I decided to come grab some dinner for my family on my way home because I was feeling nostalgic and now I'm wishing I didn't. First and foremost, they forgot to put my fried zucchini in my order. They are pretty expensive and that's wasted money now. The menu also states that with every small order of fries or zucchini you get one side of ranch. I ordered two small sides of fries and a small fried zucchini and only got one ranch. So if all of that is for multiple people, who gets the one ranch they gave me? The taco meat in the tacos tasted like cinnamon, I didn't know that that's how tacos were supposed to taste. They do load the shells with lots of lettuce and cheese, but that mystery meat was just not good. The burgers are very large and the portions are large too though. I had to pull the pastrami out of the pastrami burger because there was too much fat. My husband enjoyed the bean burrito and his friend enjoyed the cheese quesadilla. Also be very clear what you want if you order in the drive thru and I'm glad they repeated the order back to me because they thought I ordered a chicken quesadilla instead of a cheese quesadilla. This is the 7th time I've gotten extra bacon and not gotten, not only the extra bacon, but barely a portion of regular bacon. I've been coming here more than long enough to know. Mind you, it is the third time I ask to make sure there is extra bacon and there isn't. I don't think it's the owner's nor the cashier's fault, but cooks who just wanna get the job done and fast and not pay attention to detail. I get it, I work in food service. I know it's not a fancy restaurant, that's why I love this place, but paying $6-7 extra for bacon and extra of it on my sandwich and I get the equivalent of 1 slice of bacon chopped. And the last two times I got this chicken sandwich, one half of the sandwich has 1-2 bites of chicken. Hate seeing my local childhood spots in the area losing their touch. I've been coming to Everest for years, and I'm always happy to support them--especially after the Altadena location was lost in the Eaton fire. They specialize in charbroiled burgers and chicken, but honestly, their whole menu is solid. My absolute favorite is the Lamb Gyro, but I also love their breakfast burritos, avocado bacon burger, tacos, and tostada salad. No meal is complete without an order of fries, fried mushrooms, or fried zucchini! The only downside is that the drive-thru can be hit or miss--something from my order tends to get left out. But if you go inside, you get the full experience: a clean dining area, plenty of seating (including an outdoor area), and a salsa bar. Fun fact: this location used to be a Taco Bell, but Everest is definitely a step up. If you're in the area, it's worth skipping the drive-thru and dining in. Two days ago we tried this one and ordered a pastrami, a chicken salad (with Caesar's dressing), and a bean and cheese burrito. So disappointing! The pastrami wasn't lean (although there was plenty of it), the salad was meh--even the chicken was tasteless. The biggest disappointment was the bean and cheese burrito. It was chock full of whole pinto beans (not refried, not mashed, just beans), I could taste little, if any cheese, and some various other ingredients.
