Found myself in La Canada in my pursuit to find the best burger in LA. Love me some smash burgers so I decided to check out this truck. It's parked in front of an abandoned mortuary home, so I don't think anyone would mind if you had a seat out front to have your meal. The menu is really simple: it's just the smash burger, which is a double patty, fries and drinks. They do have wings, but you're really here for the burger. It's pretty pricey for a burger, but everywhere is pricey nowadays. Is it worth the money? I think so. You're getting a quality burger with wagyu beef patties. It's built and tastes very similar to the classic McDonald's Quarter Pounder. If I had to describe it, I'd say it's like the Quarter Pounder's sophisticated older brother. If you get it with everything on it, it's a double patty, with chopped onions, pickles, heavy mustard and ketchup and some nice spring greens. Cheese is extra. The bun is soft and quality. The patties are nice, but in my opinion just a tad bit underseasoned and just a little dry. The fries are shoestring and remind me a lot of McDonald's fries. But you can't really replicate McDonald's fries, though. Overall, this is a solid burger spot if you're in the area. I think they rotate from DTLA and La Canada, so you might want to call before you head down. read more

Wow... I'm all for supporting local businesses.. so called wagyu smashed but the meats looked and tasted like they were cooked hours ago... no flavor, bland.. burger is just big and it's $15... fries was solid, you can't mess that up. But 2 burgers and 2 fries for over $50... as a business owner myself, I really hope you take these negative reviews and make adjustments. I was an Amazon driver who pulled up to a really big house and i seen their food truck parked in front of the house i had a package for. The smell of the food was insane, absolute 10/10 sensory overload that I had to let the owner of the truck know how good it smelled. As i was leaving back to my van to carry on with the rest of my route, the owner offered me a free meal and it was a blessing from God because I was truly hungry since it was about 6pm. The genuine customer service was like no other, immediately felt like i was chatting with a close friend and once i tasted the burger and fries i knew exactly why they were parked outside such a big house event. IT WAS ELITE!!! Never tried a burger so delicious & the fries were crispy and soft at the same time. Unbelievable how good this meal was. Check them out!! You won't regret it i promise !!! read more

First time here. The burgers are impeccable. I got double patties with grilled onions. GOAT-ed for the area it's located in. Fries are meh. Kind of remind me of McDonald's fries but drier. I could do without them. I tried the spicy asian wings. The wings themselves were fried well, the sauce was a bit watery and odd tasting, maybe not the most quality ingredient sourcing there. I'll pass on this next time. The ranch is not good. Too sweet and tastes like cheap store-bought Hidden Valley Ranch. However the BURGERS are legit. The beef feels like QUALITY and I appreciate the addition of arugula to cut the richness a bit. This is a one man operation so keep that in mind. I'll be back. read more

This is your spot for quality meat, fantastic service, delicious food. Even my picky kids love stopping by here. We love LC smashed for so many reasons but if I had to pick one reason it would be their proportions...the perfect bun, with the most amazing wagyu (not too big, and just how I like it, but big enough for my husband to be full), topped with the perfectly proportioned & carefully selected toppings. Even the quality of their tomatoes stands out! Add a side of their fries, and you're done for the day. Each time I've stopped by there is a line, just long enough to be indicative of good food being served, but not too long to deter my stop. The line always moves quick. It's clear the owners hand selected the ingredients and didn't cut corners to craft the perfect burger. To top it off, they cater at events! Fred and his team fed our office of 250+ employees recently. Staff: Fred and his team were sooo nice. They were on time , clean and provided everything from trash bags to drinks too! They were quick with orders and super friendly. I enjoyed talking with Fred. He's super passionate about his business and took the time to talk to be about everything! Food: The burgers were very high quality - from the bun , to the Australian waygu , to the condiments. Omg their secret sauce was soooo good. I actually thought their fries were reallllly good. Yesterday was School Bus Drivers Appreciation and Lc Smashed came to my work.. I am always hesitant to leave a review on a burger as they all taste the same.. Today, food trucks serve gourmet, unique and awesome food. Thank you Get Toasted for making us believe in the power of food trucks!

Today I had some time to kill, and decided to try to catch the Glowfish food truck (which rarely…read moreseems to come downtown) at CNN (Sunset & Cole in Hollywood.) I didn't get there until 1:50, and just as I park and start walking toward the truck, it pulls out and I watch my planned pancake disappear. But hey, when life hands me lemons, most of the time I can make lemonade. Instead of heading back to the car, I decide to see what other food trucks are there (there's still a half dozen left.) I've had too many mediocre food truck meals, so now I usually only hit those that score a 4-5 on the Yelp-o-meter. So nothing catches my eye until I see "Get Toasted." It's got a line bigger than the others, but I'm not pure sheep, so I Yelp it and it scores solidly. I get in line, study the menu, and am pleasantly surprised by the prices. I decide to go for the three salbutes (mini tostada-like things) and drink special, and get the day's special salbute on the side. The staff on the truck were super-friendly and polite. They earned one star for great service before I even got the food. WHAT I HAD: Trio of salbutes (I chose carnitas, short rib and pork belly) Small peach vanilla iced tea Extra salbute (spicy crab, their daily special) MOST FAVORITE TO LEAST FAVORITE: (but to be honest, I'd eat all of them again except maybe the short rib) Carnitas - DE-FREAKIN-LICIOUS. Moist and juicy and lots of flavor. Pickled onions and cilantro were perfect complement. Pork Belly - Crispy and fatty and lots of flavor. Spicy Crab - yummy -- and loads of crab -- but not really spicy. Would have been a clear fav for me if the flavor was punched up just a little more. Either more spice or a citrus kick would've made this my #1 instead of my #3. Short Rib - a tiny bit dry and not quite enough flavor. The only other two notes I'd give: 1) Take some of the stems off the cilantro before chopping it. I love cilantro, but the stems can get bitter when there's a lot of them. I ended up fishing some of them out and enjoyed it a lot more. 2) The peach vanilla iced tea (which was a sweetened black tea, I believe) was really good, but too sweet for my taste. It was in the ballpark of most bottled commercial iced teas (Snapple, Nestea) which is a little sweeter than I like. But that's me. Others no doubt will love it as it is. FINAL VERDICT: I thought it was an excellent (and a very good value) meal for $10 flat. I would definitely go again. A few tweaks and I'd give it 5 stars.
