Mariscos El Hermano is always a must-stop for me whenever I'm in the area. Their shrimp taco dorado is unbelievably good, super crispy on the outside and packed with flavor with perfectly cooked shrimp inside. This is a food truck in Vernon! They are super nice here and quick! I crave this all the time. The shrimp tacos are fried and comes with a large avocado and this seafood cocktail/salsa that you top the tacos with. They were also nice enough to make a plain cheese quesadilla and charge me a fair price for it since it was for my son. That was much appreciated! read more

A bit overrated with their 100% 5-star reviews. I got my chance at some tacos dorados de camarone (shrimp fried tacos). The prices were cheap, the tacos were filled with yummy shrimp, they gave you a half of an avocado and a cup of salsa and the tacos were nicely prepared for you to dine-in or take togo. I personally thought the taco shells were a bit too oily and greasy for me (yeah I know, they're fried), but still. After a couple of tacos, I was pretty much done. Brother's Seafood has a nice gathering, even on a Saturday afternoon there were tons of people eating in their cars and in the parking lot of the factory. This food truckkkkk. I keep coming back for moreeeeeee. Perfect place to stuff your face with these delicious Fried Shrimp Tacos (Taco de cameron). Crunchy on the outside and perfectly soft/moist on the inside. They're not stingy on their lime & avocado either, like some places. Put on some of that suspiciously questionable toxic neon green sauce outside. It will definitely will give you an intense kick! Made my lips burn, but oh so good. Fish tacos, ceviche tostada, and the cocktail are all okay. The shrimp tacos were the best, though. Definitely will be one of those places that I will miss when I don't work around the area. They even wrap up all your tacos so neatly and organized when you order it to go. With a cup of salsa and half or full avocado. Best bang for your buck! There are benches around the truck for limited seating or you can eat outside by your car on a good sunny day. Which is practically everyday in LA. read more

I have drool spilling out of my mouth as I am writing this review for the best Taco de Camaron I've had in LA. Mariscos El Hermano defines everything that should be right in serving a fried taco. Everything on the menu is exceptional, but one dish that trumps them all are the tacos de Camaron. To be honest, I'm not sure what they put in it. But It sure feels almost as if they slipped a piece of heaven in between a tortilla and fried it. The ceviche is also other worldly delicious and fresh. I used to work around the area and the best way to order is to get it "to go." Each taco will run you $2, order in plates of 3 and they will pack you a cup of their salsa along with half a fresh avocado. The best part about these guys is that they are generous with their servings which I love them for. Some tips, there are seats around the truck, but very limited. During peak lunch times, it will be hard to find one, especially when you're with a group. Also, if you're a hot sauce lover, do yourself a favor and dunk your tacos in that awesome spicy green sauce they have on the side. I'll warn you now...it's spicy :) read more

The tacos dorados de camarón are amazing. Eat them right away for a perfect crunch, must have the salsa and avocado on top. I also had a taco de pescado. The batter was nice and crispy, it was a nice size, they gave me 1 tortilla which I prefer because 2 is too much. Service was fast after ordering. I like the location of the truck because it's in a good size parking lot and can eat in your car. I definitely recommend this spot. read more

No name/generic/Latin food trucks are a dime a dozen in Vernon and finding a good one is like striking gold in a pile of coal and rocks. Thank goodness for Mariscos El Hermano. They consistently deliver great fish or shrimp tacos. This is one of the only food trucks I enjoy enough to frequent. Shrimp tacos are $2.50ea. and fish tacos are $2.00ea. There are other things such as ceviche or oysters. I recommend sticking to the tacos though (you'll see most people order it). Many times when I order more than 3 tacos they would give me an unspoken discount. My last visit, I scored 3 fish tacos + 2 shrimp tacos for 9.50 (which would normally cost 11.00). You'll be able to spot the yellow truck down Santa Fe situalted in a parking lot. It is always in the same spot everyday and it's bright yellow, usually with at the very least a small line (at all times). There are benches nearby but they can be surrounded by flies, and they aren't very clean. My suggestion is to order and take it to go. They also have various glass bottled sodas, Jarritos, Coca-Cola, Sprite etc. Definitely worth a try if you work in Vernon and are looking for a lunch spot to try out. read more

Whoohoo! Awesome food truck in Vernon...that's not a surprise... I hope you sense my sarcasm, Vernon has very limited selection in food, with mainly sandwich and salad joints through the city, so it's nice to have the option for delicious Mexican food. This truck is right off of Santa Fe, between , Gets crowded any time after 12, so make sure to come a bit earlier before that. Most customers are workers in Vernon and when you see a huge crowd at a place, you already know it's a great lunch spot. Shrimp fried tacos are very tasty and they live up to their name: crunchy on the outside, soft and moist on the inside. I also ordered the fish tacos, which wasn't as good as the shrimp one, but it wasn't bad except fish didn't taste super fresh. Their octopus ceviche is also a great item on the menu to try. More on the exotic side, you should definitely try it if you are a seafood person. Otherwise, stick to your basics. read more

Hands down, the crispy shrimp tacos are the best in SoCal! I go out of my way to stop in Vernon and pick up a box for dinner. Omg I'm so sad that they are serving the food without aguacate . I personally need that on my seafood. They have a sign "No hay aguacate hasta próximo aviso" they say it's too expensive and that they will not buy it so prices will go down. But they don't lower the price on the food. Today I had some time to kill, and decided to try to catch the Glowfish food truck (which rarely…read moreseems to come downtown) at CNN (Sunset & Cole in Hollywood.) I didn't get there until 1:50, and just as I park and start walking toward the truck, it pulls out and I watch my planned pancake disappear. But hey, when life hands me lemons, most of the time I can make lemonade. Instead of heading back to the car, I decide to see what other food trucks are there (there's still a half dozen left.) I've had too many mediocre food truck meals, so now I usually only hit those that score a 4-5 on the Yelp-o-meter. So nothing catches my eye until I see "Get Toasted." It's got a line bigger than the others, but I'm not pure sheep, so I Yelp it and it scores solidly. I get in line, study the menu, and am pleasantly surprised by the prices. I decide to go for the three salbutes (mini tostada-like things) and drink special, and get the day's special salbute on the side. The staff on the truck were super-friendly and polite. They earned one star for great service before I even got the food. WHAT I HAD: Trio of salbutes (I chose carnitas, short rib and pork belly) Small peach vanilla iced tea Extra salbute (spicy crab, their daily special) MOST FAVORITE TO LEAST FAVORITE: (but to be honest, I'd eat all of them again except maybe the short rib) Carnitas - DE-FREAKIN-LICIOUS. Moist and juicy and lots of flavor. Pickled onions and cilantro were perfect complement. Pork Belly - Crispy and fatty and lots of flavor. Spicy Crab - yummy -- and loads of crab -- but not really spicy. Would have been a clear fav for me if the flavor was punched up just a little more. Either more spice or a citrus kick would've made this my #1 instead of my #3. Short Rib - a tiny bit dry and not quite enough flavor. The only other two notes I'd give: 1) Take some of the stems off the cilantro before chopping it. I love cilantro, but the stems can get bitter when there's a lot of them. I ended up fishing some of them out and enjoyed it a lot more. 2) The peach vanilla iced tea (which was a sweetened black tea, I believe) was really good, but too sweet for my taste. It was in the ballpark of most bottled commercial iced teas (Snapple, Nestea) which is a little sweeter than I like. But that's me. Others no doubt will love it as it is. FINAL VERDICT: I thought it was an excellent (and a very good value) meal for $10 flat. I would definitely go again. A few tweaks and I'd give it 5 stars.

Sadly, the looks represented properly the dish. I don't know what was going on, but every element was terrible. The beef brisket was dry, the gravy didn't have flavor and was so thin that the minimal portion all seeped to the bottom of the dish. Literally 5 cheese curds in the poutine and they were not gooey. None of the dish was. It was all so dry and had no flavor. The fries weren't good either, not crispy at all and I'm thinking what the heck!? If you're going to have a poutine focused truck, how is the gravy watery and not delicious?! How are the fries not bomb!? What am I missing here?! Did I just go on an off day!?
