Birds were chirping and music was playing out of the speakers scattered throughout the area. It's a food truck. I ordered the cheesy Mikey. I only waited less than 5 minutes for it. The line to order was pretty long. I waited in that line for an hour or longer. But that's understandable since a lot of groups ordered tons of items while it was just me that ordered. I got to speak to Mike since one of his employees left. He verified my order, gave me napkins since it's not self serve and pointed out the ketchup and other condiments I think. The cheeseburger came with lettuce tomato onion garlic aioli sauce and the patty. I loved how all the flavors blended together, nothing was overpowering. It came with fries and it filled me up. The portion size was perfect. My order was $23.84 but that's because I tipped 10% and I think it was worth it. My one gripe was that they don't accept cash which is understandable because the kiosk was card only. I should've walked to the front and checked it or asked an employee. Yelp assistant said they accept cash so that needs to be corrected to sometimes or never. read more

I didn't wait too long for my food either and I can understand how stressful it can get and how backed up the orders can get too. Their speedy work is doubly impressive because they offered multiple things off their menu and allowed people to make customizations too. I got the Cheesy Mikey, which is their hand crafted 1/2 lb angus beef patty burger. The burger is seasoned with their Mike's Fat Boy's seasoning. The burger comes with a generous portion of chopped lettuce, sliced tomato, American cheese on a grilled brioche bun (it was grilled with butter and had a nice tasty crispy edge of the bun). The burger came with their garlic aioli sauce. It's a very filling burger and perfect for me since I didn't have breakfast. I will have to admit that this burger is a bit saltier than what I would have liked, but if you balance out your bites to get enough lettuce and tomato within the ratio, it balances out the saltiness, but if there's the option to adjust it, I definitely would. Now off the bat they were all in the $15 range for just a burger with a lot of fries. If I'm going to pay that much it had better be good. I tried the cheesy burger and the bacon burger. The cheesy one was the only option that didn't have bacon in it, and the bacon burger was the only one without a whole lot of extra stuff. now for the food itself and this is where I got frustrated with this place. They all have a really nice toasted brioche bun with aioli dressing and the burger patty is thick and juicy and freshly made. here are my two problems. First bacon on a burger is total overkill. You can't taste the burger because the strong flavor of the bacon gets in the way. Second they all come with American cheese. You go through the trouble of making this high quality burger but you slap on there the cheapest and least flavorful cheese on the planet. Now I do get that most people do like american cheese on their burger. But if that's what you want you can get that anywhere. If you are going to set yourself apart by making a quality burger it doesn't make sense to go cheap on the cheese. We recently hired Fat Boys for a 100 person staff lunch in Orange, CA. I would 100% love to work with Michael and his team again and would 10/10 recommend to anyone. Right from the start he worked with us to customize the menu of our dreams -- brunch for dinner! He served fluffy french toast topped with seasonal berries, banana & whipped cream, their signature fried chicken and Belgian waffle topped with butter and bourbon-infused maple syrup (this was a HUGE HIT!!!), and homemade buttermilk biscuits topped with a creamy vegetarian gravy. When we finally decided that I had to have a party for my 50th bday 2 months ago, looking for a food truck became a desperate endeavor. Found Michael Gray and his food truck here on Yelp. Based on the reviews and wanting gourmet burgers, I decided to hire Fat Boys to come to our house and serve 40 of our closest family and friends! The entire process was easy and smooth. The guests LOVED the hand held call pagers to let them know when their food was ready so they didn't have to mill around the food truck and get back to the party while they waited for their food. While the burgers are 1/2 lb angus beef, did our guests think that was enough?? NO! They loved the food and wanted to try everything on the menu (and a lot of our guests are foodies). They shared and finished everything. I didn't see one burger, wrap, etc unfinished. Even one of the guests mentioned that at the movie studio he works at, they would have food trucks all the time and none are this good. That's a testament on how awesome the food is! I picked up a cheeseburger & fries from the Fat Boys Food Truck at LA Auto Show last weekend. The burger looked fine. But the beef patty had an unusual taste to it. The beef was not spoiled or bad, it just had a different flavor to it. I am not sure if they added spices to make it taste like that or what.
