It's cash only, but there's Chase and BofA pretty close by if you need an ATM. Parking is limited to Fair Oaks unless you wanna walk past all those antique shops up North on Fair Oaks towards this other taco truck which I like less than this one! There's an interesting Santa statue on the store to the right of this truck that I always think about. All of the taco meats are good. I don't even like cabeza, lengua, or chicharron but it is delectable here. They have pollo, carne asada, and carnitas too. There's also a pineapple beverage, horchata, or Coke cans to drink. It's a simple menu but a strong one.

Overall, the BBQ smelled and tasted great, and the pricing is very reasonable for the portions you get--it's definitely worth the value. Despite having had tragedy strike them recently, this local small business is still selflessly giving back to the communities of Altadena and Pasadena by regularly donating food to residents and first responders at community food drives, so I strongly urge everybody to consider donating, or at least buy a pupusa or two - you will NOT regret it! That sandwich just melts if your mouth after dipping it in the jous, and the cheese was the perfect accompiament. The fillet was cooked perfect as well, coming out medium rare. Overall, great restaurant in Pasadena. Definitely get the Mai Tai, Devine eggs and prime rib dip. Taquitos were good and, if you're feeling like another hg er appetizer, definitely a way to go . Four stars for the food and a fifth star for their survival and post-fire support for Altadena's recovery and rebuilding. Fair Oaks Burger is a long-standing institution, owned by a Korean family. The physical structure looks like a typical fast-food place, complete with a drive-through window, but it's smaller than most corporate fast-food restaurants. The indoor dining area has maybe 6 tables and a counter. There's an outdoor patio. I don't think the drive-through has a speaker to place your order; you order and pick up at the window. There's a single restroom, quite clean when I visited. The menu has a large selection of traditional burger fare, plus some Chinese and Mexican items. They have a breakfast menu too. I visited shortly after their 7 am opening. The full menu was available at that hour; I think breakfast stops in the afternoon. Here's what I ordered: 1) Chicken taco plate. Two tacos with rice and beans. I asked for crispy tacos, $1 extra. The taco shells appeared to be pre-fried and then filled, but the chicken and veggies were fine. The rice was appropriately orange-coloured but lacked flavour. The beans were good. 2) Chicken chow mein. Decent noodles and chicken with fresh veggies. 3) Egg roll. Quite large, filled with lots of veggies. Comes with a sweet chili sauce. 4) Onion rings. Perhaps a frozen product, but good quality and decent-sized serving. 5) Fried zucchini. Large, thick slices of zucchini, sliced on the diagonal so they were even larger, breaded and fried. The batter was different from the onion ring batter, more crisp. Served with ranch. One of the best fried zucchini dishes I've had from a burger joint. Only Pharos in Alhambra is as memorable (their zucchini is cut in wedges). Service was very friendly. I've found a new old place to support in Altadena.

The red salsa had a unique, flavorful kick with just the right amount of spice, while the green salsa tasted incredibly fresh. The woman who took my order was extremely friendly and knowledgeable about the menu. She made sure I enjoyed my meal and genuinely wanted me to come back. I first spotted Tacos Sin Karma at the Century City Farmers' Market while I was waiting for my order at Porchetta Republic (yes, unlikely neighbors). I returned with my pescatarian hubby a few months later. We ordered a burrito and split it, after reading the Yelp reviews. The burrito weighed a ton, and after biting into my half, I could not believe it was vegan. The "meat," which the woman told me was vegan, though vague on ingredients, tasted like carne asada. I still eat meat so I know what it tastes like and could not believe that it wasn't actually beef. Those Yelpers who say you can split a burrito don't have my appetite. I could have easily downed that burrito and been blissfully content the rest of the day. Instead, I was filled with regret that we didn't get nachos as well. Next time. I must say, they were delish! Portions were generous for the price (3 tacos for $8) and we enjoyed them with some drinks in the bar. The hubby tried one of their burritos when he arrived later and he quite enjoyed it also. A very satisfying vegan option; would love to try their nachos next time.
