Bruh. This truck is fire. We had their carne asada fries and their fried chicken sandwich. Sooooooooooo good. The chicken is seasoned perfectly. You know how sometimes some fried chicken sandwiches just rely on their sauce or whatever? Not fat boys. They put their passion and love for food into that. Carne asada fries?? If I could give zero stars I would...this past weekend my young friend was putting on her first nonprofit event and Fatboy Food Truck was scheduled to attend. He (Michael) acted so enthused and even said he could not wait to be a part of this well needed event. The event was scheduled to start at 1pm and all vendors were scheduled to arrive and setup no later than 11:30am. Well, the day of, somewhere around 10ish, we were rolling down one of the Pasadena streets, heading to the event; when we saw his food truck parked at his house. Now not even less than a hour later, we call him to see if he is coming and he said he was just leaving an event (really??????). Was the event at his house? Anyway, he said he would be there but it wouldn't be until 1pm or a little thereafter...okay, no problem; I mean what else could we say. We hung up and I promise you, less than 5 minutes later the event planner called and said that she just got off the phone with Michael from Fat Boys Food Truck and he said, "I will be there after 1:30pm; we'll you know, I think I will skip this one. Oh and you can keep the $50 as a donation." Whaaaatttt? Seriously? Who does this? What reputable business man, does this? I promise you, I will NEVER put my hard earned money into his establishment. I have eaten at some of the best food trucks in Brooklyn, Austin, Chicago, San Francisco, as well as here in Los Angeles/Venice. But I can honestly say without exaggeration, that the food on Fat Boys food truck is like no other! The quality of the food, the flavors and love put into each dish is like eating at an exceptional restaurant but with the love and joy of being at a food truck. I have now tried several burgers (delicious, fresh and large portions for the money) and I was especially delighted by the Fried Chicken sandwich served on a brioche bun and a fried egg. Fresh, flavorful and could be a meal for 2. (Served with homemade onion rings and fries, and your choice of spicy or garlic sauce. I had never heard of Fat Boys, and just happened to stumble upon them by accident at a local event in Pasadena. I tried Mike's Fat Boys food truck at Altadena Gold Course and the food did not disappoint! I had the avocado cheeseburger and OMG!! The patty was perfectly seasoned & cooked and practically melted in your mouth in the most amazing way!! The garlic fries were not overwhelmingly garlicky (I know that's not a word heheh) My sister had the bacon cheeseburger and onion rings and my niece ordered the grilled cheese. I hired Fat Boys food truck for a private party at my residence. I wanted to provide my guests the safest way to enjoy lunch during the midst of a pandemic. A self serve food bar was out. I contacted Fat Boys and connected right away with the head chef and owner, Michael. Making arrangements with him and ironing out the details was a breeze. He was professional and concise. He and his assistant showed up on time and followed through on every promise made. Each guest that ordered was handed a pager so that they could go back to enjoying the party while their food was being prepared. My guests, as well as the chef and assistant wore face masks so everyone felt safe and well protected. As the food came out, its presentation was impressive. Every single thing that I ate from the Fat Boys food truck tonight was perfection! The beef slider with applewood bacon on a brioche bun was a tastebud explosion of goodness.
