    Beef Chimichanga
    Thomas K.

Got the beef chimichanga for about $8. Pretty good price these days. Inside was just meat and cheese. No rice and bean filler. A good amount of meat too. Came out quick and was tasty with some hot sauce poured in it. Will definitely come back

I've stopped by this place for the past few times I've been in Pasadena. The staff are so friendly and kind. I always get the taquitos when I'm here. [[HIGHLIGHT]]This is a small establishment with limited seating and it's even more limited during inclement weather.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I would happily continue to support this business as Pasadena continues to rebuild itself.

    Bean & Cheese Burrito.

Old school since 1978. I got the Crunchy Beef Taco, a Carne Asada Soft Taco and a Bean & Cheese Burrito. The Crunchy Beef Taco was tasty and flavorful, but the meat in the soft taco was a bit gristly. The Bean & Cheese Burrito could have had some more cheese (my Humble opinion) but it was also good. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I've been here twice now and they have lots of regular customers.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The lady that runs the lunch crowd is super friendly and helpful, I'm going again just to see her!! (and to get the JVC Burrito). Prices are reduced when you pay with cash. Burrito Express is A'OK.

5 Star burrito spot in Pasadena! I tried a grilled shredded beef burrito with beans and cheese. Chefs kiss! If you've ever grilled a tamale then you need to have your burrito grilled, hands down. They have an excellent selection of burrito styles that reminds me of the wet burrito style. I'm looking forward to trying the spot on a regular basis with family and friends. It's a great idea to take it to go and enjoy at the local park. Quick tip, use cash to pay and receive a lower price. Although both cash and card are accepted. Staff is friendly and will make recommendations if you don't know what to try. I liked their salsa verde, just the right amount of heat. Their salsa roja is all about flavor with little to no heat. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are tables inside that remind me of a former taco stand I would go to with my grandparents. It definitely has a nostalgic feeling.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Burrito Express is a Pasadena institution -- it even has its own dedicated wiki page lol We got the Ross Perot and Pasadena burrito Vic's special. Honestly it was just ok...we got mild and there wasn't much flavor. Also they didn't include any additional salsas so we ate plain chips. My biggest gripe was the salad..the lettuce was soggy and the tomato was half frozen. This restaurant donated money to the wildfires which is so amazing. I'd come back and try other things!

Quesidilla w shredded beef which i love

Hi , Went again the other nite. Got the quesidilla w shredded beef. It was yum. But u do have to pay extra for onions and cilantro which i think is not ok. I get charging extra for sour cream and guac. But their guac is not good , its not real guacamole. Wish they used real guacamole. And i don't care for the mild red salsa , i like green salsa but its too spicey for me. :( but the burritos and quesidillas are good , just think onions and cilantro should be free ( like years ago )

Service was prompt and quick. I got the pasadena burrito and fries. It was good. The burrito was flavorful and the sauce was a good add on. The burritos ain't small here.

Staff were quite nice. When you check in on Yelp, you get a 15% discount on your entire meal. Nice! We decided on a chicken tostada and shredded beef burrito to go. Service was fast. There are 3 inside booths and several outdoor table and chairs. The food was mediocre unfortunately. Even with salsa in the meals they were lackluster. They are several other choices in the area so next time we'll go elsewhere. They have a very small parking lot and some street parking.

This place is delicious and a hidden gem. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Small seating areas, both inside and outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Good price point as well especially at Pasadena prices. The food's made really fast and the workers are nice. Recently had chimichangas for a home Deadpool 3 party.

No drive thru, but their service is unusually fast.

Is there rice in the burritos?

There can be. It's classic Mexican rice- some burritos come with it but you can add or take it out of any burrito. I special order all the time

Not only was the flavor amazing (which made me want to return and try them all) but the presentation was definitely instagram worthy. Location is in old town so parking might be a challenge.

A Little Cheat Night Never Hurt Nobody!…read more After eating the juiciest chicken ever at Loli Farms, I've been eyeing this dessert spot for a while, and luckily it was only 1.6 miles away. So obviously... dessert was happening. Perfect excuse for a little cheat-night treat! Parking Hack: Don't pay $5 for parking! We parked about 7 minutes away in a parking structure for only $1 for 2 hours. After all the delicious food I inhaled, I definitely didn't mind getting a little extra cardio in. Pasadena parking is definitely doing the most, so parking structure it was! Mango Melon Shaved Ice -- $8.50 | 7.8/10 Mango-flavored shaved ice topped with melon balls and served with a side of milk drizzle. The shaved ice itself was SO soft and fluffy, and the milk drizzle gave it just the right amount of sweetness. The only thing was... I really couldn't taste much mango in the shaved ice. It was pretty subtle, so I wouldn't say this one completely blew me away, but it was still a refreshing treat on a hot summer night. Definitely not the best I've had, but certainly not the worst! Injeolmi Shaved Ice -- $7.50 | 7.7/10 Milk-flavored shaved ice topped with mochi, layers of Injeolmi powder, and more milk drizzle. This was actually our first time trying Injeolmi, so we were curious! The combination of the soft shaved ice, milk drizzle, and nutty Injeolmi powder was really good and made for a fun flavor combination. My only complaint? THE MOCHI. They were soooo tiny! I wanted that satisfying chewy squish, but these little guys basically tasted like mini boba that disappeared the second I bit into them. The shaved ice itself was perfectly soft and honestly the star of both desserts. Inside, there aren't a ton of tables, but luckily we snagged one right when we walked in. And let me tell you... this place had a constant flow of customers the entire hour we were there! People were coming in and out left and right, with only one ordering machine, so expect a little patience if it gets busy. Overall, both shaved ices were pretty decent and made for the perfect little "I already ate too much but I'm still getting dessert" moment. Definitely a nice way to break the diet after our chicken feast! Would I come back? Absolutely, especially to try some of their other shaved ice flavors. Happy desserts!

An adequate parking lot is located in front of these stores. Upon entering tea spots I was greeted by a friendly hello. I walked to the counter and asked questions about the types of food that they had available. The staff described a variety of selections. They are definitely more than just tea and smoothies. They have what they call 'snacks' on a large menu. These are more than snacks, they are full meals. I decided on some Ramen and Potstickers. I was impressed that they asked me exactly how I wanted things prepared. Spice levels were a prime consideration, so I decided on medium spicy. As I waited on my order, I looked at their beverage menu that was filled with different Boba coffees, teas and slushies. There are also quite a number of items on the menu that I want to try with different styles of preparation. After about 10 minutes my food was ready and I was out the door and on my way home. They do have areas inside this location to dine inside. When I unpacked my food at home, I was pleased to see how carefully it had been put together. They had everything individually wrapped. I was eager to try the potstickers first. The Pork Potstickers were delicious. Great flavor and moist with a crisp outside edge. The Japanese Miso Ramen wes filled with flavor and spice. I added some Sriracha and Soy Sauce to complete my preference. I look forward to coming back and enjoying some different beverages and flavors from the kitchen.

Recently, I got an email saying they now have new sizzling plates, and I couldn't wait to try them. They offer four different sizzling plates, and I went with the beef fried noodles. Honestly, it's not the best--the flavor is a bit off, but I was really hungry so I ate about half. It's okay after adding some Sriracha, but I wouldn't order it again. The sizzling plate comes with a tea, and I got an oolong tea with 50% sweetness. It was just okay. Parking can be challenging at times, and the spaces are pretty narrow.

Unfortunately... this one just wasn't for me. Maiko Special -- $13.50 Rating: 6/10 There was SO much happening in this cup that I honestly didn't know where my taste buds were supposed to focus! Between the different ingredients, flavors, and textures, it felt like a little bit of everything was thrown in. The jelly at the bottom was pretty bland, and the red beans were just okay. The matcha cake had a decent texture and paired nicely with the ube and matcha ice cream, but then came the cereal crunch... and at that point, my taste buds were like, "Girl, we need a moment." Individually, I think some of these ingredients would be great, but together there were just too many flavors competing in one cup for my liking. I'm still glad I gave it a try, especially since I was craving something different after our first visit. But now I know myself better--I'm definitely sticking with their shaved ice next time!
