    Beef Chimichanga
    Thomas K.

Got the beef chimichanga for about $8. Pretty good price these days. Inside was just meat and cheese. No rice and bean filler. A good amount of meat too. Came out quick and was tasty with some hot sauce poured in it. Will definitely come back

I've stopped by this place for the past few times I've been in Pasadena. The staff are so friendly and kind. I always get the taquitos when I'm here. This is a small establishment with limited seating and it's even more limited during inclement weather. I would happily continue to support this business as Pasadena continues to rebuild itself.

    Bean & Cheese Burrito.

Old school since 1978. I got the Crunchy Beef Taco, a Carne Asada Soft Taco and a Bean & Cheese Burrito. The Crunchy Beef Taco was tasty and flavorful, but the meat in the soft taco was a bit gristly. The Bean & Cheese Burrito could have had some more cheese (my Humble opinion) but it was also good. I've been here twice now and they have lots of regular customers. The lady that runs the lunch crowd is super friendly and helpful, I'm going again just to see her!! (and to get the JVC Burrito). Prices are reduced when you pay with cash. Burrito Express is A'OK.

5 Star burrito spot in Pasadena! I tried a grilled shredded beef burrito with beans and cheese. Chefs kiss! If you've ever grilled a tamale then you need to have your burrito grilled, hands down. They have an excellent selection of burrito styles that reminds me of the wet burrito style. I'm looking forward to trying the spot on a regular basis with family and friends. It's a great idea to take it to go and enjoy at the local park. Quick tip, use cash to pay and receive a lower price. Although both cash and card are accepted. Staff is friendly and will make recommendations if you don't know what to try. I liked their salsa verde, just the right amount of heat. Their salsa roja is all about flavor with little to no heat. There are tables inside that remind me of a former taco stand I would go to with my grandparents. It definitely has a nostalgic feeling.

Burrito Express is a Pasadena institution -- it even has its own dedicated wiki page lol We got the Ross Perot and Pasadena burrito Vic's special. Honestly it was just ok...we got mild and there wasn't much flavor. Also they didn't include any additional salsas so we ate plain chips. My biggest gripe was the salad..the lettuce was soggy and the tomato was half frozen. This restaurant donated money to the wildfires which is so amazing. I'd come back and try other things!

Quesidilla w shredded beef which i love

Hi , Went again the other nite. Got the quesidilla w shredded beef. It was yum. But u do have to pay extra for onions and cilantro which i think is not ok. I get charging extra for sour cream and guac. But their guac is not good , its not real guacamole. Wish they used real guacamole. And i don't care for the mild red salsa , i like green salsa but its too spicey for me. :( but the burritos and quesidillas are good , just think onions and cilantro should be free ( like years ago )

Service was prompt and quick. I got the pasadena burrito and fries. It was good. The burrito was flavorful and the sauce was a good add on. The burritos ain't small here.

Staff were quite nice. When you check in on Yelp, you get a 15% discount on your entire meal. Nice! We decided on a chicken tostada and shredded beef burrito to go. Service was fast. There are 3 inside booths and several outdoor table and chairs. The food was mediocre unfortunately. Even with salsa in the meals they were lackluster. They are several other choices in the area so next time we'll go elsewhere. They have a very small parking lot and some street parking.

This place is delicious and a hidden gem. Small seating areas, both inside and outside. Good price point as well especially at Pasadena prices. The food's made really fast and the workers are nice. Recently had chimichangas for a home Deadpool 3 party.

Ive been craving a classic bean and cheese burrito from Burrito Express so I thought I'd leave a review in the meantime! Im notoriously known in my family to not eat beans, but when I tried this it was sooooooooo good that now Im more open to beans. I got the chicken bean and cheese burrito and its just a simple pleasure that satisfies. I support this business also because they donated to damages caused by the LA wildfires, the staff/owner here are great! Its a simple spot but with good food! Chill location, no drive thru, service is quick! Need to come back soon

Fast service . Friendly staff and with a nice area to sit and enjoy. Fantastic bean and cheese burritos. Get 2. One for later. If you're a bean and cheese type of person, don't sleep on on the B&C burrito w/ green sauce.

No drive thru, but their service is unusually fast.

Is there rice in the burritos?

There can be. It's classic Mexican rice- some burritos come with it but you can add or take it out of any burrito. I special order all the time

It was empty when we initially arrived then more customers filtered in shortly after. Staff allowed to sample their unique flavor options. **To note, they offer a few vegan flavors for those with dietary restrictions**. Always a huge plus and positive! The flavors are middle eastern inspired and the details are all listed. My wife and I sampled 2 flavors and we both enjoyed our selections. The flavors are memorable. We happily decided on the Sesame Halve (vegan) & Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell (+$1.00) for myself. The presentation is one of a kind! The topping with the tiny little rose is a nice aesthetic and definitely their trademark. The location offers retro and colorful style seating for 10+ customers if I had to guess . Patio seats are also offered outside. Also, OG Pac-Man arcades are available inside. My wife loved her Sesame Halva and my Pistachio Konafa with Chocolate Shell totally reminded me of a Dubai Chocolate type of vibe with each bite! It's been a few days since then and we can't stop thinking about coming back. They serve unique Middle-Eastern flavored ice cream. I ordered the Sesame Halva which is their vegan ice cream made of Halva ice cream with sesame & coconut. OMG, I've never tasted anything like this before. I love anything that has a sesame profile. If you like that nutty, sweet, and earthy flavor this one is for you. I could taste the coconut, but it wasn't overpowering. There were also little chunks of halva in there that added a slight bit of sweetness. The texture was similar to cookie dough, but softer. Aside from the taste, I loved the simple presentation of the small rose on top of the scoop. It made it look elegant. As you can tell, I am definitely coming back and highly recommend stopping by.

One measly slice of ham and cheese, and the butter barely tasted present. I'm bummed that such a great recipe has been reduced to this poor excuse of a jamon buerre. Had I known this was what I was going to receive, then I would've spent the money on groceries to make SEVERAL mediocre ham sandwiches instead. First, the good: the cinnamon roll was moist and fluffy all the way through. No dry cinnamon rolls here! The service was also very friendly. The not so good: my first bite, which somehow managed to not have much icing, gave me a clear taste of the dough. It reminded me a lot of canned biscuit dough. I prefer a thicker icing, this one was quite runny and very sweet without any nuance to the flavor. Also, I really wanted to try the peach cobbler cupcakes but they didn't have any cupcakes in stock at all, only a few cake slices. We went around noon, and I hoped they would have plenty of options around that time :/ Unfortunately I've had much better cinnamon rolls elsewhere in LA. On our most recent visit - admittedly our first in a while - I was surprised that the flavors mostly seemed like repeats from a long time ago. Of course, you want to feature what is most popular, but I remember previously seeing things that were truly one of a kind, even for them. (Out of curiosity, I visited their website and the seasonal flavor blog hasn't been updated since spring 2021). None of this is a deal-breaker, but the feeling of "tiredness" permeated my interaction with the staff, too. There was no joy behind the counter, which I found odd for ice cream that is supposedly about the love of travel. When I tried to order a scoop of one flavor, I was told that I couldn't have it because there wasn't enough left for a full scoop. When I asked if I could have the half scoop that remained and just combine it with another flavor (trying to solve the problem for them), I was told that they aren't allowed to do half and half splits anymore. Fortunately, another employee showed up at that very moment with a fresh full tub of that flavor, but it still struck me as odd. They were also out of cones because of another problem. I am giving them four stars because the ice cream is still great and definitely worth a try if you've never had it, but I hope they can maintain their spark and magic as they continue to expand.
