Every dish was absolutely delicious and plated with stunning presentation. Chef Charlie even provided printed menus for each of us, adding such a thoughtful touch. The universe gifted an opportunity for a friends reunion in Orange County, about halfway for…read moreeveryone / home for no one. I had 2 weeks to plan dinner, one guest has food allergies and a couple preferred to NOT dine in public. I rented a house with a nice kitchen (and made sure the owner knew it was for a dinner party), but now I needed a chef. I had many referrals from local friends, but everyone they recommended were either booked or not suited for a small dinner party. With 8 days left, I did what I should have done in the first place and checked Yelp. Mint was highly rated, had excellent reviews, and seemed to do smaller events. I sent an inquiry overnight, explained what I was trying to accomplish -- hire an in-home private chef, to cater dinner for 4, and included the list of food allergies. I woke up to an email from Angela -- it was very courteous, succinct, with an attached 1-pager of pricing AND a of list items to choose in each course (4 courses / 1 item each). Folks: this is how you do business, it make as easy as possible to say yes. Nobody else I communicated with was this responsive, and this easy to work with. The type of cuisine (to me: fresh / farm to table / New American) was what everyone would enjoy, with great options in each course, and their pricing was in-the-ballpark. I replied with my choices, they sent a link to contract and pay by credit card, and we were booked/confirmed in 3 emails spanning a couple hours. [[thank you!]] Menu: * English cucumber topped with blackened shrimp whipped avocado cream cheese & microgreens * Arugula salad with blueberries, avocado goat cheese, lemon honey vinaigrette * Seared Ribeye Strip with shallot peppercorn sauce Lemon roasted broccolini, sweet potato mash * Chocolate flourless cake with fresh whipped cream & berries AND the Salted Caramel banana bread pudding with vanilla ice cream [[life hack: you CAN order 2 deserts, and yes it cost more, and f-yes it was worth it]] Day-of was flawless: Chef Jacyln arrived with everything to prepare dinner, was flexible on timing and service. The guests were drinking and chatting with her while we snacked on the first course. We sat for the salad, which was tasty and a perfect pallet cleanser. I devoured the entree and dug-deep for the self-control to NOT lick the plate. Everyone loved desert, not everyone would have loved either of the deserts, so I was pleased I opted for both (not just because I ate both). Chef Jaclyn was fun to watch and talk to, and did a masterful job of fading when were talking about something else. She made-do with the cookware/plates/etc in the AirBnB, the only thing we lacked were containers to take leftovers home (our fault!). She served us, and cleaned up (spot-less), which I wasn't expecting. The whole experience was 10/10 - I cannot wait to book and host again. Thank you Mint and Chef Jaclyn!

Our entire experience with LLK goes down as one of our favorites throughout the wedding planning…read moreprocess. Hospitality is not for the weak, and it is oftentimes a difficult endeavor, but LLK went above and beyond, from conception to execution. Given that they are the catering company for our wedding venue (Castle Green), we were initially apprehensive given wedding food's reputation, but thankfully our concerns were quickly put to rest once we started working with Kevin and Kari (the dynamic duo!) on developing our custom menu. They are so skilled and creative in working with an array of flavors and cultures. The entire team-Kevin, Kari, Brooke, and staff- was passionate about making our day special and committed to collaborating on a custom menu that we adored and felt good about sharing with our loved ones. We couldn't have asked for a kinder, more open-hearted group to work with. Our friends and family (some of them are notoriously picky eaters) were so impressed by the food--"wedding food" doesn't always have the best connotation, but the food served at our reception absolutely knocked it out of the park. Everything is customizable to your heart's content and they do an incredible job at guiding you through it all. Choosing linens, glassware, etc. was also a breeze. Commitment to getting it right and honoring our vision and my Chinese heritage. It was a small detail that was deeply meaningful and completely unexpected. From sourcing a specific brand of ingredient down to using Calrose rice as a nod to my husband's family roots in rice farming, LLK's menu was a fun nod to our respective family backgrounds. We had mentioned enjoying orange chicken but beyond incorporating a bit of Americanized Chinese food, I didn't anticipate that any other cultural food would work. LLK took it to the next step and proposed a tasty soy marinated/five spiced deviled egg with pork sung on top (a crowd pleaser and my favorite appetizer from cocktail hour; also a childhood staple for me growing up). The charcuterie table was phenomenal and all plating was elegant, fitting to the occasion. Our tasting with Kevin was an event all on its own! We had such a fun evening of genuine conversation and enjoying Following the tasting, LLK's team checked in with us regarding our tasting notes. We were impressed by how well Kevin and the team were able to recalibrate the final flavors accordingly to deliver exactly what our taste buds hoped for based on our initial tasting notes. Communication with them was always easy despite their busy schedules. We can't recommend them enough and hope to visit them at their restaurant pop ups!!

We had a premiere party at Castle Green in December where your only choice for catering by contract with the building is Little Lily's Kitchen. Kari and Booke were very nice, but their prices were insane for what we needed. In any case, we moved forward with an 8K invoice for a "finger-food" order for 250. When we found only 70 had RSVPd, we obviously had to honor our non-refundable contract for the 8K, which we did in good faith and ahead of schedule. But since we were at 1/3 capacity, I asked for an additional choice of finger food, which they did. The problem came in the fact that we paid for 6 servers and received 3. The food didn't begin circulating (by a very sweet wait staff) until 45 minutes after guests arrived and then it was very intermittent with many never receiving food. For 8K I expected non-stop food for our 70 guests, instead what I got (and didn't find out till later) was a lot of hungry people. On top of that, we had 16 guests report stomach issues the next morning - the commonality being goat cheese. When I addressed this to Brooke and Kari, I was not looking for a refund - after all, maybe it was a stomach virus that circulated within 24 hours, but I was dismayed by the fact that they didn't respond at all- zero, zip, nothing, not even a thank you for our business. It was the BIGGEST ripoff I've ever experienced with a caterer. For anyone having an event at Castle Green that doesn't involve a very large payout for the owners, buyer beware.

Before the surgery, I sent her my doctor-provided list of foods I could and couldn't eat along with my personal preferences. She immediately created a rough template for 3 meals a day, plus snacks. Each morning, she brought my food for the day, and at night after I had finished it all, we would talk or text so that I could give her any feedback. She would adjust the next day's meals, and we did the same process each day for about 10 days. Her food was delicious, made with quality ingredients and packed well. A criteria we had when searching for a caterer was having a family style option so that our guests had a chance to eat multiple items/dishes. We knew we didn't want each person to just get one plate of food with a single protein choice; we wanted a feast! After finding Taste of Pace through some online research, we scheduled a tasting, which completely blew us away! Pace had us come to a loft where she cooked all of the dishes as we sat, ate, drank, listened to lovely Italian dinner music, and chatted with Brooke to go over the menu options. We instantly booked with them after. They also helped with the open bars we had at the wedding, so the food, the alcohol, the staff were seamless and amazing. We keep getting comments on how delicious the cocktail hour appetizers and dinner platters were. For cocktail hour, we had a charcuterie station, hamachi crudo, risotto cakes, and hangar steak.
