Our entire experience with LLK goes down as one of our favorites throughout the wedding planning process. Hospitality is not for the weak, and it is oftentimes a difficult endeavor, but LLK went above and beyond, from conception to execution. Given that they are the catering company for our wedding venue (Castle Green), we were initially apprehensive given wedding food's reputation, but thankfully our concerns were quickly put to rest once we started working with Kevin and Kari (the dynamic duo!) on developing our custom menu. They are so skilled and creative in working with an array of flavors and cultures. The entire team-Kevin, Kari, Brooke, and staff- was passionate about making our day special and committed to collaborating on a custom menu that we adored and felt good about sharing with our loved ones. We couldn't have asked for a kinder, more open-hearted group to work with. Our friends and family (some of them are notoriously picky eaters) were so impressed by the food--"wedding food" doesn't always have the best connotation, but the food served at our reception absolutely knocked it out of the park. Everything is customizable to your heart's content and they do an incredible job at guiding you through it all. Choosing linens, glassware, etc. was also a breeze. Commitment to getting it right and honoring our vision and my Chinese heritage. It was a small detail that was deeply meaningful and completely unexpected. From sourcing a specific brand of ingredient down to using Calrose rice as a nod to my husband's family roots in rice farming, LLK's menu was a fun nod to our respective family backgrounds. We had mentioned enjoying orange chicken but beyond incorporating a bit of Americanized Chinese food, I didn't anticipate that any other cultural food would work. LLK took it to the next step and proposed a tasty soy marinated/five spiced deviled egg with pork sung on top (a crowd pleaser and my favorite appetizer from cocktail hour; also a childhood staple for me growing up). The charcuterie table was phenomenal and all plating was elegant, fitting to the occasion. Our tasting with Kevin was an event all on its own! We had such a fun evening of genuine conversation and enjoying Following the tasting, LLK's team checked in with us regarding our tasting notes. We were impressed by how well Kevin and the team were able to recalibrate the final flavors accordingly to deliver exactly what our taste buds hoped for based on our initial tasting notes. Communication with them was always easy despite their busy schedules. We can't recommend them enough and hope to visit them at their restaurant pop ups!! read more

It took me a long time to decide if I wanted to leave a 1 star review because my policy is, if you don't have anything nice to say, don't say it and chance hurting someone's business, however after mulling this over for 8 weeks, I've decided that people should be aware. We had a premiere party at Castle Green in December where your only choice for catering by contract with the building is Little Lily's Kitchen. Kari and Booke were very nice, but their prices were insane for what we needed. In any case, we moved forward with an 8K invoice for a "finger-food" order for 250. When we found only 70 had RSVPd, we obviously had to honor our non-refundable contract for the 8K, which we did in good faith and ahead of schedule. But since we were at 1/3 capacity, I asked for an additional choice of finger food, which they did. The problem came in the fact that we paid for 6 servers and received 3. The food didn't begin circulating (by a very sweet wait staff) until 45 minutes after guests arrived and then it was very intermittent with many never receiving food. For 8K I expected non-stop food for our 70 guests, instead what I got (and didn't find out till later) was a lot of hungry people. On top of that, we had 16 guests report stomach issues the next morning - the commonality being goat cheese. When I addressed this to Brooke and Kari, I was not looking for a refund - after all, maybe it was a stomach virus that circulated within 24 hours, but I was dismayed by the fact that they didn't respond at all- zero, zip, nothing, not even a thank you for our business. It was the BIGGEST ripoff I've ever experienced with a caterer. For anyone having an event at Castle Green that doesn't involve a very large payout for the owners, buyer beware. read more

Kari, Kevin, and Brooke!!!!!!! Omg they are true rockstars, the food at our wedding was so good! And they were such a joy to work with from start to finish and they had their work cut out for them between me, my husband, in laws on both side and countless dietary restrictions. 10/10 do recommend they were so great and so kind as a staff. read more

Kari, Kevin and the Little Lily's team were so easy to work with. We had numerous allergies and dietary restrictions to manage, and they were extremely proactive at making sure all of our needs were met. They truly have a passion for food and it shows! We got so many compliments from our guests about how good the food was at our wedding. As an added bonus, the tasting was a very intimate and special dinner that is unlike any experience that we've had before! read more

Kevin, Kari, Brooke & team made our Wedding Reception experience fantastic. We had a very specific vision and they were able to help us execute on it after a round of tasting. The guests loved it as well! read more

We are beyond pleased with our experience with Little Lily's Kitchen as the catering team we chose for our wedding. Before we got engaged, my husband and I had an excellent dinner at LLK owners Kari and Kevin's restaurant, Henry Parsons Project (also highly recommend). Once we started planning our wedding I remembered seeing that they do catering, so I reached out to Kari to learn more. We were looking for something more personalized than the usual chicken or beef option for our reception dinner. Good food and drinks were at the top of our wedding priority list, and we wanted to have some dishes that would represent my Mexican and his Italian heritage. LLK was the best option we found since they worked with us to create a custom menu of drinks, appetizers, dinner and desserts. We had so much fun at our tasting dinner and the team gracefully took our feedback for the few changes we wanted. We appreciated being able to work with LLK for not only bar and food service but also to handle the related rentals and staffing with them. The staff was very friendly and attentive. Weddings can be stressful, but it was a relief to know we were in good hands with Kari and the LLK team, and that our guests enjoyed the menu we crafted together. We look forward to our next meal at Henry Parsons Project. read more

Little Lily's Kitchen is a great catering option for large events. We chose them out of the two preferred caterers from Castle Green for our wedding. We were so happy with every part of working with them from their email communication, zoom calls, seeing them at Castle Green's Open House, wedding tastings, and day of dining. Kari and Kevin are the best team to work with. They are pleasant and professional. They made sure to make us feel excited, comfortable, and included in the process of creating a menu of appetizers, main dishes, and drinks. We were able to create our menu and customize it to exactly what we wanted. We had a wedding tasting before the event and we were served a full course meal. We were so impressed with their hospitality, ambience, quality and quantity of food. We chose a Jamaican-American fusion for our catering and we were very satisfied that both of our requests were met. We have also eaten at their restaurant, Henry Parsons Project, and it was a great dining experience. We ordered their biscuit and honey butter and we added them to our wedding menu. They were a hit! We also had the Little Lily's bartenders at the after party that we hosted. They were gracious enough to be available for that portion of our evening as well. It was such a fun vibe and we were so excited to end the night with a bang! read more

I was so lucky to have little Lily's cater a work lunch. The menu was like this: Pulled pork with Kansas City bbq sauce Grilled jerk chicken Veggie bean chili Potato salad Southern slaw Biscuits and honey butter Fresh fruit I enjoyed the chili and the breadsticks the most, followed by the biscuits and honey butter. I mean, how can you go wrong with honey and butter. Specially with a crunch on the outside and soft and doughy inside. It was definitely a southern style biscuit that holds its own or complements well with any jam or spread. I feel like every southern meal should have the sides be able to carry their own as a main dish. And there is no exception here. Every bite of chicken and pork was delicious, but having such unexpectedly tasty sides over shadowed the main dish, in the best way possible. I look forward to more little lily experiences. Wink wink nudge nudge. Cheers and thank you little Lily's read more

Little Lily's was such a pleasure to work with for our wedding in 2023! We were married at Castle Green in Pasadena, and Kari and Kevin worked with us to create a menu that matched our stories and our venue. Everything ended up absolutely perfect! From the cocktails to the canapés to our tablescapes to the desserts, the entire night was an amazing experience for us and our guests. Kari and her team were on top of the service, and she was personally making sure that the bride and groom were attended to. We are so glad that we got the opportunity to work with Kari and Kevin, and we will make it a point to stop in the Henry Parsons Project (their restaurant in Pasadena) when we want more delicious food and memories of our special day! read more

Kevin is an amazing chef! We hired him for our wedding in September 2018 because we were allowed only two catering choices for our venue (Rancho del Cielo in Malibu), and were a little trepidatious, but he hit it out of the park. We worked with Kevin over a few weeks via phone and email on our taste profiles and expectations, and made a trip out to his kitchen in Pasadena for an initial sampling, and then again for a complete menu. We had almost no complaints. I will only give praise here because if you're super picky there's always going to be something you're not totally OK with but ultimately it's not really a big deal, and that's basically how I felt. He hit all the right notes, was really creative, took all of our desires under consideration, and came up with stuff that I never would've thought of myself. The hallmarks of a good chef! This was our final menu, which we and the guests thoroughly enjoyed! I doubt we could've gotten this level of service and quality at a decent price (considering the complexity and our pickiness) with many other caterers around LA. If you have a choice, go with Kevin! Being wedding + event planners in LA we get to try + work with so many catering companies-- I have to say that Little Lily's Kitchen is at the top of my list. When I recommend them to my clients I can 100% stand behind every dish they make + the service! Kevin, Kari, and the entire Little Lily's Kitchen team treats clients + guests as if they were FAMILY (something you don't get much of in the events industry). The FOOD IS FREAKING AMAZING!!! I think what I like most about the LLK team is that they LISTEN to you, they want to know what YOU like to eat and they want to genuinely get to know YOU. They will construct menus based on your tastebuds and on day of, watch out, that food will be raved about for years to come. From the bottom of our hearts, thank you LLK for being so great and such a blast to work with! read more

Chef Kevin, Kari, and the entire team at Little Lily's Kitchen were incredible to work with at our February 2022 wedding at the Castle Green in Pasadena. They really took the time to get to know us and our food preferences beforehand. Knowing we were big foodies, they want all out with super creative, restaurant quality dishes that were not only delicious and unique but also aesthetically pleasing. They also helped us with beautiful linens and special vintage glassware. Everyone raved about the food, and Kevin and Kari were so kind, fun, helpful, and easy to work with. I cannot say enough good things about Little Lily's Catering. They help us with a 300 person event in July and were absolutely amazing. Finding a catering company that can handle an even of this magnitude is extremely difficult and they were absolutely amazing. The entire team was extremely responsive from the get go. I spent over an hour on the phone with Kari explaining what the event would be like and what we were looking for in terms of food. This was jus the initial call. I had several walk throughs at the site and countless emails back and forth. I was never given the impression I was taking up time. They were also more than accommodating to changes to the menu, offering price sensitive alternatives that still made the event shine. Emails were always answered promptly. This is also a full service group. Their lead bartender was able to help us craft custom cocktails for the evening. At all of the walk throughs their staff offered suggestions for layouts, decor, timing. Their input really helped with the flow of the event. The food itself was delicious. I had several people come up to me during the event to comment. Kevin, at his suggestion, was cooking burgers and sausages on the lawn, interacting with guests. It added an energy to the evening that helped things get going. Inside we had a seafood station that was never empty. Their staff was knowledgeable enough to be sure the passed appetizers got to all areas of the event; they weren't gobbled up at one entry point which seems to happen at the majority of the events I go to. During the event the staff made sure there was never an empty tray of food or a glass sitting on a table. They were also quick to make any changes I suggested. The bartenders were extremely professional and friendly. What I loved most about this group is they actually made the planning fun. At the tasting the popped a bottle of champagne and made sure everyone had a fabulous time. They also took detailed notes on the comments we had about the food; I didn't have to remind them of anything. I cannot say enough good things about everyone on this team. read more

Kari and Kevin were amazing! We are complete foodies and the meal was the most important part of our wedding for us. Little Lily's Kitchen was a superb caterer for our wedding! We had a blast working with Kari and Kevin to select our menu and every item at our wedding was very well received. Little Lily's Kitchen was one of the preferred vendors for our venue, Castle Green. We were able to work with them to create a completely unique and bespoke menu that fit our personalities and tastes. Kari and Kevin were very collaborative and brought in great ideas and suggestions - for example we love pizza and had wanton pepperoni pizza rolls as one of our appetizers that was suggested by them. I also originally come from the Southeast and we had a Carolina sauce with our pulled pork sliders, again suggested by Kari and Kevin. They spent the time getting to know us and our food at the wedding felt personal because of those great details. We did a tasting at their restaurant of the full menu and only needed to make a few minor tweaks as everything tasted good. It was essentially a private meal and a great opportunity to work with the team to have exactly the type of food we wanted. They also helped us with our rentals, the color scheme, table settings, and stylistic choice for the venue. It was very convenient to have all the rentals, food, and the open bar through Little Lily's Kitchen which made everything easier and the wedding day went by very smoothly. We got lots of compliments from our guests about the food and we got to enjoy some yummy leftovers ourselves! read more

We had Kari and her team come out for our wedding last weekend. I am still thinking about their food. We had a celery root soup, which you might think is gross but it was one of the best soups I have ever had. Then we had beef short ribs and a creamy polenta. The combination was so good, so perfect! I wish I had more. I want some now, I want some tomorrow. They knocked it out of the park. Our guests said the same thing, loved the food. It really set our wedding apart from other wedding I have been to. Never have I had better food at a wedding. On top of that they handled everything, they brought food, chairs, tables, heaters and were a one stop shop for most everything we needed for the wedding. It made it stress free and easy to focus on the minor details. They did a great job. I would highly recommend them. I also hope they open a restaurant or have a way to do meal prep. Their food is great! We went with them because of their great reviews. And well, here I am writing a 5 star review. I would highly recommend them. Even if someone was less expensive, the care they took, the quality of the food as well as just handing everything and making it stress free. Was well worth it. I highly recommend them! read more

Kari and her team provided incredible catering services that were perfectly customized with all of our favorite things! We loved working with the Little Lily's team to come up with a menu that fit the vision for our day, taste an incredible spread of all the items that would be served, and fully trust that they would take care of everything the day of. Our guests raved about all of the food served, and we (bride and groom) still had time to eat all of the food on our busy day because the catering staff had everything ready for us at the perfect moment! We are still thinking about how great the street tacos and Nashville fried chicken sliders served during our cocktail hour were! In addition to the food, the Little Lily's team went above and beyond with service the entire night and not a single detail was missed. We highly recommend their services and can't wait to have their food again! read more

For all the people who are considering a private chef you must read this! First, let me start off saying that my wife is the most picky person ever and for NYE we wanted to entertain 12 people at our house and thought it would be a nice idea to do a 7 course meal with a private chef...so we started shopping around and my wife being skeptical of how good Kevin was going to be had a million questions. Lets just say she was blown away as were our guests...here is a summary of my dealings with Kevin and the food. Kevin himself - First let me tell you that a lot of chefs have an ego. In fact, a few places I called and asked basic questions turned out into a fight with the chefs because they thought they were the best thing since slice bread. Kevin was the exact opposite! Nicest guy over the phone and very accommodating NO EGO and he really should have one given his skills. He gave great ideas and got very excited about the whole concept and ideas we had. I have never seen someone this open and accommodating on the menu. Not to mention he was honest during the process with the food pairing Food - lets get down to the real deal! OMG was everything absolutely amazing. My palate was experiencing an orgasm. We started out with this amazing caprese spoon that just opened up my appetite, then we moved to this amazing zucchini fritter with some secret sauce and a shrimp. The flavor profile was so amazing my mouth is watering just writing this! That followed up with a tomato soup made from scratch and frankly i want more right this minute. Then we had this zesty salad which was fantastic along with Coq Vu Resling dish that was so delirious and tasty! I can go on and on ....but then he brought out bread pudding for dessert and oh man my guests still text me asking if I can get the recipe for that dessert lol. Clean up and service - 10 stars here. First the presentation of the food was unreal, so amazing how he can make it look like art with each plate. Kevin even brought dinnerware! Richard our english butler was a highlight of the night, we was awesome and on top of everything including the clean up. When they left everything was spotless. I cant thank you enough Kevin. You made our NYE and I am looking forward to working with you again. Anyone considering a chef trust me and get Kevin, if you are disappointed then youre the problem lol. You cant go wrong, hes a very talented chef and makes great great great food. read more

Their logo should say amazing food because that's what they create! We wanted a custom dinner for our wedding in June 2018. It was important to us to not have the standard meat or fish option. Kevin and Kari asked us what foods WE would like to have at our wedding and they made it happen with a gourmet touch. They are so easy to work with... just cool, down to earth people that really want to make your day special. They are excited to create unique and custom food and truly enjoy what they do. Their food is soul and the best compliment you can get is when multiple guests commented on how great the food was. The service and staff where impeccable! They were always attentive to our needs. We never had to ask for anything. Kari spent a lot of time helping us create our table seatings and we had many compliments on that as well. We recommend them to anyone looking for a personal experience for their special event! read more

Think about all the weddings you have been to in your lifetime. I have so many I have had the pleasure in attending, but guess what? I really can't remember the dinners I had nor anything remarkable about the service at ANY of them. Until now.... I arrived to the reception and sat down at a table as it was open seating. Immediately I was greeted by a gentleman with an English accent. I can't lie, the accent really helps ;) I was a little hungry not ravenous until the ahi came out... I think I strategically placed myself around the reception where I saw the ahi. It was so good! It had a perfect sauce and jalapeño to top it off. The chicken skewers were cooked to perfection and grilled with a slight char. Fish tacos were on point. The best was the pulled chicken with a spicy sauce that made me want to eat the entire tray : ) I highly recommend this company for any of your catering needs and hope you have the pleasure of enjoying their service and wide variety of food! read more

Holy smokes can Chef Kevin make eating enjoyable. This guy was born to cook! I went to episode III of Little Lily's Kitchen Summer Dinner Series last night and was blown away by the 10 courses of heaven that kept coming, one after the next. From the butter poached lobster to savory lentil goodness to the cardamom ice cream... The food was incredible. Since I didn't know these people that well, I was glad I was able to resist the temptation to lick the bowl my African ground nut soup came in. That would have been inappropriate. Or would it? I really did feel like I was at a Top Chef judges table last night... So let me use some of the lingo. Chef Kevin's flavor profiles are so well thought out. One of the best things about his cooking is the progression of what you discover as you eat each plate... He has the skill, instinct and creativity to truly design his meals like a story. And his attention to detail and integration of authentic and local ingredients is much appreciated. I will definitely be keeping up with this amazing small business and using Little Lily's Kitchen for my next dinner party! Cheers to Chef Kevin Irvin!!! read more

Kari and Kevin were both great! We reached out to them pre-covid to cater our fall 2020 wedding. They scheduled a call with us to learn about the foods we do and don't enjoy and came up with an incredible menu! We were really looking forward to sharing the delicious meal they prepared for us during our tasting with our family and friends, but due to covid restrictions we couldn't offer our guests the same full menu experience. They were understanding and flexible in working with us, and were still able to prepare the meal we enjoyed in a packaged/takeout option for our guests whom sent their compliments to the chef. Our menu consisted of pork belly with Hoisin sauce, fried chicken sliders with mango, duck crostini's, asian pear salad, and beef Wellington to name a few. My review is based solely on their customer service. I simply inquired about their prices (even alluded to the fact that we would probably go with a relative, but are collecting comparisons anyway.) The owner responded quickly. They were out of our price range, so I thanked him for his time. And really, he could have just left it at that, but instead he wrote me back again, suggested another catering company and even another website I could check out AND how to navigate said website! SO nice and unnecessary! But I think that tells you a lot about the character of this company, and it definitely deserves some recognition. Just noticed that their logo/avatar says "Good Food for Good People". It should say "Good Food BY Good People". read more

I came across Little Lilys during an exhaustive online search for wedding catering companies in Los Angeles. Food and booze were the 2 main tasks I was entrusted with for my wedding, so I was excited to see what my options were in a food city as diverse as LA. Unfortunately that changed quickly as all of the catering companies I contacted replied generically with similar looking PDF pamphlets, that contained similar sounding menu options and similarly high 'prices per person.' I was immediately put off by these initial options and was starting to get nervous that this was all that's out there. Then Kevin - the owner of Little Lily's - reached out to me directly and we set up a phone call. Over the phone, I could immediately tell the guy loves to cook and takes his food seriously. I've been to a lot of weddings and am usually underwhelmed by the catering, so it was a huge plus that Kevin shared the opinion that a wedding menu doesn't need to be a predictable, boring buffet line. Kevin's genius idea was to create 3 fully-plated dish options for dinner service, pairing a main ingredient with side dishes that create a cohesive culinary experience...meaning none of our guests would end up standing in line for the same 3 side dishes with their choice of the rubbery chicken, mushy fish or dried out steak as a protein. After that first phone call, Kevin and his wife Kari came up with a list of options for the tray passed appetizers and plated meals using foods we said we like, places we've traveled, etc as reference. Everything they suggested sounded delicious but we were able to narrow down our favorites to 4 or 5 apps and 3 plated dinner options. The next step was the tasting where Kevin and Kari came to our house and cooked everything on the list for us to sample! We sat at the table like rich people, eating delicious food and drinking wine while they prepared all of the dishes, took notes on our likes/dislikes and then cleaned the whole place up when done cooking. It was a great/unexpected wedding planning experience and really solidified the direction we wanted to go with the menu. Fast forward to the big day...our wedding venue did not have a full traditional kitchen for Kevin and team to use so they rented an outdoor kitchen and cooked everything right there in the parking lot. As promised, everything they made that day was as good or better than what we ate in my home kitchen at the tasting. I can't even quantify the number of compliments we received on the food and impeccable service of the bar & wait staff (which Little Lilys also provided.) The entire group was super friendly and very accommodating to anyone with additional food or drink requests throughout the night. And they also provided an entirely separate special meal option for the 6 or 7 vegans at the reception at no additional cost! In fact, through everything we threw at them leading up to the wedding day, they never once tried to up-charge us and stuck to our original (modest) budget. One last thing - I'm sure you've noticed by now that I haven't included any photos or references to specific menu items in this review. One of the best parts of the entire wedding process for me was working with Kevin and Kari to come up with food options that had some significance to our wedding and our guests. In collaborating Little Lilly's, I feel that we created something personal and hope you will get the same satisfaction out of choosing your own menu top to bottom...that's the real value in working with Little Lily's. I've never written a review for anything in my life, but I just wanted to share this great experience in hopes of making at least one part of your wedding planning experience more fun and stress free. Trust me, book these guys while you still can! read more

I don't know if I can put into words just how great Kevin and everyone at Little Lily's Kitchen were! We hired Kevin to cater our wedding and, from the very beginning, were astounded at the friendly and professional nature of the entire operation. The process started off with Kevin coming to our home for a negligible fee (applied towards the cost if hired) where he cooked us an amazing 374 course meal (ok, maybe 8...) as a way to sample his food and to get direction for where we wanted to go on the menu. After a stunning showing there he was hired, and he was the one vendor we had that we NEVER had to worry about through the process. On the day of the wedding, they just absolutely NAILED it. The food was just the greatest. Probably the best compliment I can give is that our guests are still talking about it not just being the best food they've had at a wedding, but some of the best period. Speaking of which, I cannot recommend more highly Kevin's spectacular vegan chorizo tacos as an appetizer. Wow. In summary, Little Lily's Kitchen wins on all counts - reasonable pricing, outstanding service and food, and a memorable experience over all. read more

Little Lily's is a life saver. My wife and I were gifted two weeks of their Personal Chef Service right after our first son was born. 10 days of amazing breakfasts, tasty lunches and delicious dinners. Chef Kevin worked with us to create a menu that suited our tastes, making sure each meal was nutritious and helped serve the needs of a brand new mother. He had even researched galactagogues (to help promote breast milk production) and made sure each meal was chock full of them. At a time when we were both bleary-eyed from lack of sleep, having someone cook us delicious and nutritious meals was a god send. And saved us from eating frozen pizzas every night. I highly recommend this service and the amazing food. And if you get the chance, request the homemade chicken pot pie. I could have eaten it all year. read more

We could not have been happier with our decision to have Little Lily's cater our wedding! Kevin & Kari were absolutely amazing. They were very attentive to details and on top of everything. Not to mention the food was incredible! They came to our house and prepared the tasting several months in advance, and then let us pick and choose what we liked best. We had so many of our guests asking us for their contact information after the wedding. We highly recommend them and look forward to working with them in the future for other family events and gatherings! read more

What are you waiting for?!? Call them NOW to cater your event! These guys are great - we met them at a work-related party and then hired them to cater a night-before-wedding cocktail get-together that we hosted. Kevin was great to work with, came up with an awesome menu within our budget, was on time (actually early) for set-up, and told us we didn't need to do anything, just let them run the show. We had MANY compliments from our guests (a fair number of which were food snobs). They even helped us with non-food things like setting up the bar area, uncorking wine, etc. Highly recommended! read more
