After having our first child, my husband and I have definitely cut back on how often we go out to eat. Because of this, I thought it would be a really cool experience to have a chef come to us and cook an amazing meal in our home. When I reached out to Roshi Experience I didn't quite know what to expect, but Chef Daniel responded right away and we started the process of planning a private in-home dinner for my husband and I. Everything was smooth and easy. I let Chef Daniel know of any food allergies as well as food preferences and he came up with a beautiful 12-course menu incorporating a variety of unique dishes. These included sashimi, nigiri, wagyu, Chilean sea bass, and many other dishes with high quality ingredients. The morning of our dinner Chef Daniel sourced all of the ingredients for our menu ensuring that everything was as fresh as possible. He made small adjustments with ingredients that were too good to pass up at the market and selected three bottles of sake that he thought would pair well with the entire meal. Chef Daniel then came to our home and started all of his prep work. Throughout the evening he kept our kitchen organized and clean, there was never a mess! Dinner was ready to start early so we dived right in. Each course was immaculate, unique, and the progression kept us engaged with lots of changes in textures and flavors. When dinner was complete Chef Daniel made an amazing chirashi bowl with all of the leftover ingredients for lunch the next day and cleaned our kitchen to pristine condition. There's something about good conversation and good food that just enhances the quality of a dining experience, and Chef Daniel delivered just that! We hired Chef Daniel and Chef Randolph for a private dinner at home after our tiny wedding. We wanted to do something different than your typical wedding reception dinner, but this really exceeded all of our expectations. I don't think we could have even gotten food this good for the price if we had gone to a restaurant, and being able to have it at the comfort of our home was even better. I'd recommend them to anyone and am really grateful that they madd our wedding celebration so special and memorable. Pre-event: Chef Daniel was communicative and clear over email. We discussed the menu and made accommodations for a vegetarian and a toddler in our group. Day of: The chefs arrived on time and got promptly to work. They were so great at pacing each course and explaining every dish. They made extra of the vegetarian courses so the broader group could try. Everything was delicious but my favorites were the salmon carpaccio and the scallop nigiri in the omakase tasting. They were even kind enough to get a little extra tamagoyaki for the toddler, which she loved. After: They cleaned up everything, and left the house cleaner than it was before. I was fortunate to be invited to one of Chef Josh's tasting events by a friend. Chef Josh welcome us to his home and we were seated at a well decorated table. The ambience was amazing, with soft music playing in the background, a little lantern at the center of the table, and personalized menus with our individual names on them designating our seat. The sake was abundant and we drank through a couple carafes as we settled in and got acquainted with each other, as we waited for the course meal to conmence. The first course was a soba noodle dish, which was light but also filling, which is very fitting for an appetizer. Followed by this was a seafood ceviche with scallop, shrimp and snapper topped with wonton chips and caviar. This was extremely tasty and maybe my favorite course of the meal. After this, we were able to enjoy some sushi for their "Omakase Nigiri Tour". My favorite was the Caviar Chu Toro. The sushi was extremely delicious and presented on a little board with decorative garnishes. In this course, we also had fresh wasabi grated and ginger placed on to our sauce dishes by Chef Lexx and Ronan who accompanied Chef Josh. In the questionnaire we filled out for the menu, there was a question about a random ingredient we wanted incorporated into the meal. I suggested salted duck egg, and it was a pleasant surprise to see it incorporated into the entree which was A5 Wagyu Yakiniku topped with salted duck egg and caviar! This dish was so rich and tasty and eating the salted duck egg gave me a nostalgic feeling of home cooking! We were all feeling pretty full by this time, but the dessert was too good to pass up. It was a layered matcha and vanilla panna cotta, topped with mango. THIS WAS DELICIOUS. Chef Josh said it was his first time making panna cotta but he nailed it. I wish I could have this every week, to be honest. I didn't leave a single bite. We all finished the dinner with a glass of wine. All in all, I had an amazing experience and met some amazing people. Shout out to Chef Josh, Chef Lexx, and Ronan from the Roshi team for executing an amazing dining experience. Roshi rocks!!! We hired Daniel (Roshi) to cater my 50th birthday party for approx 25 guests. Initial consultation was great, Daniel ask many questions to ensure he designed the perfect menu. After a couple edits, we had a final menu and the deposit was paid. Daniel checked in with me a few days prior to the event date which was appreciated. On the day of our party, the Roshi team showed up in force with a crew of 5. They arrived almost 2 hrs ahead of when we wanted the food served. Daniel immediately informed me that one of the items we wanted fresh enough, wasn't to the chef's high standard, which I appreciated. He brought extra of the other items to ensure there was plenty of food. They went straight to work prepping all the food, cutting the fish, and shucking the oysters. The food they put out was a thing of beauty and a work of art. Everything tasted great and the chef even made a new roll with some smoked candied bacon we had on hand. They made items to order that some of our guests asked for. The Roshi team was super friendly and fun group. They cleaned up after the evening wrapped up. They want around with platters to ensure everyone had plenty to eat. Everyone of our guests commented at how fantastic the food and presentation was and how great the service was the Roshi team provided. They left to a round of applause and cheers! We decided pretty last minute to have a birthday party for our son and was on a mission to figure out food. So glad we found Roshi on yelp. Daniel was very professional & responsive & was able to cater our event, with another team of his doing a different event that same evening. We had a group of 20 adults & 10 kids and had a custom menu that included 20 Omakase plates, Sushi Station (minimum of 20 guests, choice of 3 fishes, nigiri, variety of cut rolls), Tomahawks & Chicken Teriyaki. The sushi was fresh & delicious. The Omakase plates were served in increments at my request as everyone was eating at different times, which was perfect because everyone got a fresh plate when they were ready. All the pieces were delicious! We provided wagyu & Chef Daniel included it as one of the pieces. He seared it perfectly. The sushi station was fun & the sushi wasn't all sitting out at one time. Chef Ricky Bobby made it on going but only a bit at a time so it would remain fresh. We devoured the tomahawks & the kids enjoyed the chicken teriyaki. Also, great presentation on everything! We had some leftover fish & got to keep it all, so they packed poke bowls to go for us & our guests. It was great! I do recommend having plastic to go containers/tupperware on hand for this, in case there are left overs. They also wiped down & cleaned our kitchen before leaving. But expect to have to thoroughly clean again as your kitchen may smell like fish, which is expected! Chef Daniel & Chef Ricky Bobby are awesome chefs, really great at what they do & they are very personable. They had a nice vibe that complimented our group. Such an amazing and fun experience. I surprised my fiancé with a birthday dinner using Roshi Experience and they were just amazing! I found them on yelp but took a look at their Instagram before reaching out.
