I hired Mike &G Catering to host my son's baptism and 1st birthday. Communication was great, they even accommodated extra things I wanted to add. The issue was how late they showed up to cater. Food was supposed to be ready and served from 3-5pm and they showed up at 2:45pm. They cooked everything on site, but it took almost 2 hours to cook and serve. My guests didn't start eating until almost 5pm. I also hired a churro company to serve churros after the food, so their late start caused them to start late too. Suggestion is to check traffic before an event to avoid being late especially if they have a long commute. Also the griddle used to cook food should be bigger to accommodate large parties. The food was good, but I will most likely not hire them again due their lack of punctuality. read more

I was looking for catering for my daughter's 5th birthday party and I am so glad I found Mike & G catering. They were quick to respond to my inquiry's and had great customer service. They cooked on site and it was easy to Notice how well they worked together. They also communicated well and kept me informed on food status. I had ordered what I thought was enough food for approx 60 person party and I ended up almost running out. However, they were quick to offer to go to the market to pick up more items to cook and they generously just cooked all the extra food they had as back up. It ended up working out well, no market run needed. But that just shows how everyone enjoyed the food and kept going back for more! We had burgers, hot dogs, fries, beans and grilled cheese. Finally spoke to someone at 10pm the night of the event and he had no explanation and stated he couldn't refund my electronic payment until the following Monday when the bank was open. They were able to accommodate us with a weeks notice and handle multiple shifts as well as leave prepared churros and ice cream for those that came in to work after Luis and his team Our employee partners loved it the churro and ice cream bar! The tables are decorated nicely, and the churros are freshly fried, rolled in sugar and cinnamon and sit on top of a generous scoop of delicious ice cream. They offered vanilla, chocolate and strawberry along with toppings like whipped cream, chocolate, strawberry and caramel syrup, crushed Oreos, nuts, Fruity Frosted Flakes and sprinkles. So fun! We catered an event a few months back with their BBQ menu and it was so great. They were professional friendly and right on time. Yestereday we tried out their super taco bar for our employees and it was also so well done, plenty of options for everyone, we had carne asada, al pastor, chicken, quesadillas, chips, rice, beans and they even supplied some drinks. Everything is included napkins, plates, utensils and they are great to work with. They clean everything up and package any leftovers nicely for us to keep for later. I'll start with the positives, the food was good, we had fettuccine alfredo, penne pasta with sausage, bread veggies, and a Caesar salad. The churros were a big hit as well. The huge issue we had was that they were supposed to cater an event and were supposed to be there by 4pm. This event was a timed event. We even specifically chose a caterer near our event in Corona so that it would be closer and easier to manage. We called at 330p to see where they were and they didn't pick up. We kept calling and finally they picked up at 430p and said their van broke down and they had to switch cars and reload the food into the other vehicle. A simple courtesy call to inform us would have been nice. They said they would be there by 520p but didn't actually arrive until 540p and finished set up around 6p. The event was timed so we had to start breaking down by 645p to be out by 7p. All our guests had to rush to eat, we even did the birthday singing, cake cutting, and serving before dinner was ready. All in all I would not recommend them for any event due to what happened to us. They never reached out to apologize or anything. read more

Luis took my call got my estimate out in 15 min and was able to make the commitment to serve 150 people just like that. Pricing was also very reasonable. I'll start off by the saying the food was good but when it comes to punctuality it's something they seriously need to work on. After seeing so many reviews in regards to to their punctuality, I made it a point to them that they need to be committed to the punctuality to our event since it was a company lunch and we were still running on a production schedule. They sent me this long email ensuring me their commitment to my company event. I booked them twice in one day for both of our shifts. Our first shift lunch wasn't too much of a wait but if I book you to start serving at 9am you should be ready by 8:55am to start serving. We had to wait 10 minutes so they started serving at 9:10 which is not so bad BUT for our 2nd shift crew I booked them to start serving at 8pm. At 8:08pm I received a call saying they still hadn't arrived, when they told me before they left from serving our first shift they would arrived at 7pm. I called them and asked them where they were at and they told me they already arrived and the food just needed to be put on the trays since they left their trays from first shift so they didn't even need to set up. Come to find out they didn't start serving them until 30 minutes after they arrived. Had a housewarming party To start off the beans and rice were cold. When I asked for chips she only gave me a few had to ask for more. I ordered for 50 guest and only had 44. This includes 9 kids. I decided to order rice beans and chips that would be more than enough. Asked for Carnitas Carne Asada and El Pastor. They brought chicken Noples and told me it was at no extra charge but the didn't bring enough of the meat I ordered for 50 guests. They responded promptly to my initial message in a professional manner and had pdf's of their catering options. The PDF's had all the information I needed to make a decision and pitch it to my boss. This was the first event I was in charge of organizing and the catering was a HUGE part of my task. Our guest count changed a few days prior to the event. Mike so graciously updated our estimate and sent it to me the same day! On the day of the event I messaged them to confirm we were on schedule 3hrs before the agreed arrival time. Right away I received a reply confirming their arrival and putting my mind at ease. 20mins before our agreed arrival time (5pm) I received a text from Mike with an update saying they would arrive in 15mins. Again I was put at ease and the best part was that I didn't have to ask for the update. They set up the tacos and churros stations and wasted no time! We planned to begin eating by 6:30pm and everything was ready to go minutes before that time. Our guests were so impressed by how DELICIOUS the tacos were. Everyone loved the asada and the al pastor. The tortillas were soft and not greasy. The salsa was a great compliment to the tacos and not watered down at all. Another impressive point was their set up it was clean, presentable and had a perfect flow. The churros and ice cream were so TASTY and the perfect dessert item. They had a spread of different toppings and syrups for our guests to choose from. Again, they did not disappoint in the set up here. It was clean, well laid out and easy! We had them to cater my daughter's 30th birthday on Saturday 4/22/23. They were 57 minutes late and did not call and inform us. My husband kept calling, getting no response.
