Amazing food, amazing service. Sunny, the owner, has the best kimchi fried rice in town! Never disappoints

My husband and I have tried several dishes from here now . Service is always friendly. The interior is quaint with limited seating. The first time we came my husband ordered the Breakfast Burrito and I got the Sunny's Sandwich on homemade brioche. The sandwich was amazing but my husband just thought the burrito was okay. Since then he's also tried their Po' Boy sandwich and Kimchi Fried Rice which he absolutely loved. I like the exterior of their fried chicken here. It's so crispy and the French Toast which is also made from the brioche. The bakery is right next to door and the reason their bread is so fresh and delicious. On nice days, they'll have a couple tables outside but the seating is primarily inside. I'll definitely order the kimchi fried rice next time. I tried some when my husband ordered it and it was so good. read more

The food was not great. I ordered the chicken and waffle. My waffle was stale, and the chicken was extremely greasy. The orange juice was really good probably one of the best that I've had but that's pretty much it. The service is great very friendly. Location is somewhat small. read more

The Nashville Sunny's waffle plate was delicious. It came with two spicy Nashville chicken tenders over a Belgian waffle. The chicken was juicy and crispy with a great kick without overpowering the flavor, and the waffle was soft and fluffy with that perfect sweet and savory combo. We also had the chilaquiles with salsa verde, and those were amazing. The green sauce had really good flavor and the yellow corn chips tasted house-made with a great texture throughout the dish. My wife ordered the Sunny sandwich and that might have been my favorite thing we tried. The house-made brioche bun was incredible, soft and buttery, and the sandwich was packed with bacon, avocado, cheese, house sauce, and perfectly cooked ingredients. Excellent place to get a very tasty breakfast in a small restaurant with a big heart. The chicken and waffles were the perfect crisp and the iced coffee was so tasty. It was plenty of food I honestly could have shared it especially since it comes with a side of eggs. The food is great but what won me over was the sweet owner/chef I believe he was. He went around to the tables asking how the food was and thanking us for stopping by. Small and cute little place. Parking wasn't an issue. Food was really great. Service was good. I came in to pick up my order and while the front desk/server was busy, someone was in the kitchen to peek their head out to let me know someone would be with me shortly. Chilaquiles was really good. SPICY. But good. Benedict, usually can't go wrong. Has parsley on top, if that matters to you. I appreciate that they allowed me to substitute ham for tomatoes. We'll be back!! read more

A must try. Phenomenal food and good portions, for a great price. Also stellar service. Came in at 9:25AM on a Sunday. Only 1 other big group of young men were there. Our food was coming out by 9:40AM and service was super prompt with refills of water and coffee. Everyone was so nice! From the guy who directed us that we could sit when we first arrived, the waitress who was with us the entire time, the chef who came out and even took our dishes, and the owner who was just so friendly! We ordered the Kimchi Fried Rice with a side of Sunny's Potatoes, Chilaquiles, that we later added a side of Sunny's Chicken to, Mexican Chocolate French Toast, and two coffees with the hazelnut creamer. $67 before tip! That's 3 mains, 2 sides, and 2 coffees. That could have easily fed 3 people. The cook on everything made for prefect textured bites every time. Definitely order the kimchi fried rice. The kimchi is made in house, the fry on the chicken is beautiful, and the velvet yet fluffy texture of the egg made for bites you can't stop. The Chilaquiles was good with a nice level of spice. Textures on point and such balanced moments with the avocado, pickled onions, crema, and cojita cheese. We ordered an extra fried chicken on the side because we felt like it needed some more fat/meatiness, but overall a good vegetarian option. But since I'm not one, next time I might try a side of a burger patty to crumble on top. Again, good dish just needs fat. Mexican Chocolate French Toast was perfect to wrap up. Not too sweet, firm but not eggy, and well balanced between the chocolate, Fresh fruit, and what tasted like freshly made whipped cream. Dusted with powder sugar, it was perf t as is but left you the option to douse in syrupy if that's your thing. Would recommend. Ugh! And then they give you a free cute slice of cheesecake at the end. What an absolute pleasure to stumble upon Sunny's Café my daughter and I were looking for a breakfast brunch place something new to try and we lived in that area for 20 years and we came across Sunny's Café and decided to go and enjoy some food. Very cute little restaurant in a somewhat busy shopping center we went in. We were greeted right away very friendly. We're told to sit wherever we'd liked. We picked a back table love the decor. The vibe is absolutely great very simple but very welcoming. The young lady who came and asked us how we were doing gave us our menus very sweet as we were looking over our menu. We had an older gentleman I'm assuming might be the owner came over and greeted us asked us how we were doing if we would like anything to drink. If we were ready yet we were still looking over the menu. He said no problem. The young lady came, she took our drink order and brought out our drinks pretty quickly. We placed our order for our food again very pleasant very nice. very attentive. I watched her go from each person to check on them. That was amazing. We received our food and everything looked delicious. Presentation was very nice. The food was absolutely delicious. My coffee was phenomenal. My daughter's orange juice was so sweet and so perfect. I believe it might've even been freshly squeeze as we were finishing up the older gentleman brought us over some dessert a piece of cheesecake with some strawberries and whipped cream phenomenal from the moment we walked in to the moment we left. Searched yelp for the nearest place to have brunch it lead me to here at Sunny's Cafe. I noticed the ambiance looked a tad unfinished and while enquiring about the paintings on the wall . Owner Sunny mentioned they are in the midst of remodeling , the painting is his support of a local artist. Fresh baked brioche bread / fresh squeezed orange juice of course I had to add that to my lists of things to try here. Also their fried chicken and waffles by far my favorite. I this place is relatively new. The website menu isn't updated and their full menu has a lot more items. We ordered the: Sunny's waffles - waffle was really big and tasted good on its own. The chicken tenders were the unexpected hit! So crunchy and delicious. Came out hot and fresh. Kids French toast - also very good! Loved the fresh whipped cream. Katsu Sando - chicken was delicious, similar to the chicken with the waffle. Only thing missing is some sort of sauce. Sandwich came dry. And a nice surprise - they gave a small complimentary tiny slice of cheesecake with their whipped cream. Yummy! Place is small and quaint. They have a cute bench for a larger group. Sunny's Café has such a homey vibe, and the staff was super friendly. We stopped in for brunch, and I had the Sunset Benedict -- the eggs were perfectly poached! The ladies' room was clean, and I loved that they even had dance music playing from an old Victrola, which added to the charm. We had a great chat with the owner, who shared that they make everything from scratch -- nothing is frozen. They started us off with complimentary orange juice, and at the end, surprised us with a little cheesecake dessert from their bakery. Food: we were looking forward to trying the chillaquilles but they were out of salsa...SOOOO we went on a limb and ordered the chicken and waffles. Don't let reviews fool you or keep you from visiting Sunny's. Yes the wait for the food can be a bit on the longer side however, FOOD WAS DIVINE. I always say "longer wait times allow you to truly get hungry so you're ready to devour" My partner ordered the Nashville Sunny's waffles (not on the spicy side tbh) and I ordered a Sunny's sandwich. Honestly the homemade waffle and the homemade brioche are spectacular. We also ordered a kids order of French toast which was also really fluffy, and just the right amount of sweetness! They have a vintage record players playing some tunes in the women's restroom, and the tunes in the restaurant were also delightful. We came around 1PM and it was a packed house so we expected a longer wait seeing as though there's only 3 people working. Overall, we will be back probably will call ahead and see if it's busy or slow to help with the decision. The food made it alllll worth it! Thanks Sunny's! read more

I was really excited to try this place. It is very cute and quaint but honestly the food was not impressive. We got the Mexican hot chocolate French toast which nothing about it gave abuelitas coco... it just had a spiced chocolate syrup, but the French toast itself was dry and not just okay. We also had the chilaquiles (which is my favorite item to get for brunch everywhere) and I was disappointed. The fried tortilla chips had a very burnt and overdone flavor, the pickled onion was just okay, the steak we added was okay, and it was overall dry and I kept having to add hot sauce to it because there wasn't enough green sauce. The staff was extremely friendly and the restaurant was very well taken care of, no dirt in sight and no tables sitting longer than 1 minute! At the end of our meal we were treated with CHEESECAKE which absolutely topped my dining experience! Finding good breakfast places can be hard especially in this area but I believe this place is truly more deserving of love and worth checking out for yourself!! Came here on a Sunday, and it took a little over an hour just to get seated. I had heard great things about this place, so we really wanted to give it a try. The food is genuinely delicious...but unfortunately, the service is really disappointing. After finally getting seated, it took another 45 minutes before anyone took our order. Another couple even left because of the long wait. It seems like the restaurant doesn't have a good system in place or enough focus on customer service. The location is small, but it has so much potential if they improved their organization and service. Came here for our first restaurant after our move! When I say this is over five stars, I mean it. They went above and beyond. The staff are the friendliest and most welcoming. We came really early one weekend to get some breakfast so we beat the morning rush. The staff (I believe to be the owner) greeted us, introduced himself, and even walked our little one to the table. He made sure to make our little one feel comfortable, asked them what they wanted to eat, and even got them some sweet treats for free. We ordered the chilaquiles and the Mexican Hot Chocolate French toast. Both were to die for! 10/10 for each one. Tastiest French toast I've had and I love me some French toast. Our server, Adriana, was incredibly friendly and kind, attentive without being overbearing, and she genuinely made us feel taken care of. We also had the pleasure of chatting with Sunny himself, the co-owner and the man behind their incredible Belgium waffle recipe (the sous chef as well). He's such a simple, down-to-earth guy, and you can tell he pours heart into what he does. Hearing the story behind the waffle recipe made the experience even better. And the food? 10/10. But, it was a week day so, I didn't want to make assumptions and I had decided that I wanted to find a new local breakfast joint so, I waited. Sunny came walking in from the front entrance and greeted me with a huge smile. We had a lovely conversation about his son's love of golf (I was wearing a golf shirt). I ordered their version of Eggs Benedict and it was fantastic. I am not usually a fan of breakfast potatoes instead of hash browns but they were excellent as well. 5 stars if you can get seated Food is delicious, easily a 5/5. Owner is really friendly and service is good (once you're seated). We've dined here maybe 5 times and had really great experiences. We recommended this place to a bunch of friends. Their hours are 8-2. My friends showed up at 12 and got turned away. They told them it was slow so they closed early. I was in disbelief, so I called the restaurant myself, and they said if i come in within 10 mins, they can seat me. Strange, why did my friends get turned away then?? Thought it was a one time thing, so begged my friends to give it another shot. Came back another day around 12:30, same thing happened. We got turned away. The owner was very apologetic at least. Was craving their food and wanted to have it again. This time, didnt want to be turned away after driving 20 minutes. So we gave them a call when we were on the road- "Can you seat us if we arrive in a few mins?" They said yes. We show up, the restaurant is empty (slow hours), and suddenly their "grill, hood, and other kitchen equipment" all stopped working. Overall service was good, I think could have been a bit better in 2 ways: 1- server forgot our drinks and had to be reminded (not a big thing) and he made up for it by giving us a small piece of homemade cheesecake 2- Bill came, I paid. Found this hidden gem in Rancho. When we walked in we were greeted right away the staff was very attentive and friendly. Cute little mom and pop shop. Very rustic and vintage kinda of vibe. The service was great. Our waiter kept checking in and making sure we were okay. The owner came up to us as well to see if everything was fine when the food came out. Great place all in all . The fresh OJ wasn't too sweet. Actually pretty good. I did order a Carmel crunch coffee. I don't know if the coffee was burnt or if it was bitter. Also i don't know where the crunch is in the coffee but it was still okay Ordered the chilaquiles which was a good portion size. It did have a kick but was not too spicy. The chicken and waffles were pretty good. The chicken was a good size. The eggs that came with it. They do charge extra for eggwhites, But what's okay I think the eggs were cooked in too much butter. The team was very kind and welcoming, which we appreciated, but unfortunately the service itself didn't meet expectations. We waited nearly an hour for our food, and that was only after we asked about the status of our order. When the food finally arrived, the Mexican hot chocolate French toast was cold. We sent it back, and when it returned it was just two pieces of bread with the toppings. While the presentation looked nice, the food itself wasn't great. For a restaurant of this size, I expected more attentive service and better quality, especially based on the positive reviews I had seen.
