I stopped by this small, local brunch-style café across from Costco and near Ontario Mills. The café has a fun island vibe with Hawaiian-inspired breakfast dishes, island music playing in the background, and a cozy, country-style aesthetic. The staff was really nice, and even though the place was busy and clearly popular, my food came out surprisingly quickly. I ordered the strawberry matcha, which was probably my least favorite part of the meal. The matcha itself wasn't very strong, and I didn't get much strawberry flavor either. When I saw another strawberry matcha come out, it actually looked different from mine, so I'm not sure if that one had extra strawberry added. Mine definitely wasn't on the sweet side, so I asked if they could make it sweeter, and they added what tasted like vanilla. It was okay, but definitely not my favorite matcha. For food, I ordered the Katsu Chicken Loco Moco, and this was much better. The gravy was absolutely delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the chicken was nice and crispy. The fried rice was okay but rounded out the dish well. One thing I thought was especially thoughtful was that they brought out a carafe of water even though I was dining by myself. They also serve the utensils and napkins in a little basket, which was a cute touch and added to the overall experience. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendly service, and the Loco Moco. The matcha could definitely use some improvement, but I'd still give this place 4 stars and would be open to coming back to try some of their other Hawaiian-inspired breakfast dishes
Came on a Sunday around 9 am didnt have any wait which was good . Me and my husband ordered the loco moco and the pork Benedict . Both were excellent . They have seating inside and outside and it's nicely decorated. Definitely want to come back to try more
Been wanting to try this place and let me just tell you their customer service is TOP TIER !!! As soon as we get walked in got greeted right away. Came in on Monday morning around 11, which by all the reviews I was expecting a line, but there was only two people ahead of us. You order your food then they assign you to a table. They have so many options to choose from, to savory to sweet. I ordered the loco moco, which was okay. Personally I don't like sticky rice, the rice wasn't good to me. More on the clumpier side. But the katsu was good. The gravy was a little sweet. Overall it was good. My husband had the Hawaiian bbq steak breakfast, I loved it. It was really good. Very flavorful and filling. I honestly loved the mushrooms. Chefs kiss !!! The lava pancakes were super moist and not as sweet, which was really good. I wish they would have put more macadamia nuts for more crunch. Definitely a MUST TRY !! The Hawaiian coffee was pretty decent. Not as sweet. I wanted it to be a little stronger but it was good. They had seating inside and outdoor. Very clean and spacious. Employees kept coming around asking if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Definitely coming back
This was my first time ever coming to this place in Ontario, and I didn't know they had a location in Norco. It was a Sunday when we got here, and the line was out the door. It did move pretty fast than expected and service was quick. While my husband and I were waiting, we were reviewing the menu. They had a lot of good choices that definitely sounded good for Sunday breakfast, and eventually I settled on the corned beef hash plate with potato's and fruit instead of eggs. My husband saw the chalkboard menu and chose the kalbi short ribs with fried rice and Mac salad. We also added French toast On the side to share. After placing our order, they let us know what seat number we were seated at and went outside to our table. The outdoor patio was very nice, open spaced and shaded well enough that the sun wasn't reaching us. The seats were comfortable enough and the table space was generous for a party of 4 (I know they had tables for 6 and combined tables for larger parties). When our food was brought out and we began to eat, the food had a lot of flavor. I did pick off my husband's plate and have to say everything he had was very good. I have no complaints about the taste or presentation of the food we got, and would definitely check it out again to try something else.
For starters this place is not really a restaurant. They do have seating inside and out. You order when you walk in and once order is placed they will direct you where to sit at. I will say they do bring a pitcher of water to the table which is nice ! So I ordered the loco moco with fried rice and the gravy was amazing. I wouldn't say the patty was my favorite not as tender as I like it so next time might opt out for the Portuguese sausage. Next we have the melt which my partner enjoyed and said the flavor was their favorite part was the breakfast potatoes that came on the side. Lastly the ube coffee so I might be a lil basis because I'm not really a fan of coffee. It was good ummm wasn't sure what to expect but my partner enjoyed so do what you will with that. Overall I will be back to try something different
We were really excited to try this place. The selection on their menu was crazy. The inside was adorable and their outdoor seating was covered and shady enough to sit outside even in crazy heat. Our order arrived super quick and looked amazing. For the price per plate there's a good amount of food, though I felt the flavors were a bit underwhelming when spending as much on brunch as you can. The coffees were good, definitely sweet and dessert type of coffee so be sure to ask for modification if that's not your taste. There's a limited parking area right out front but plenty in the area with the mall right there. I would definitely go back to try more of their options.
This place is amazing! It's a good size restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is super cute and clean. The restaurant and food are definitely giving Hawaii vibes. This is the type of restaurant where you order and pay before they seat you. It took a while to order, but once we were seated our food came out right away. You will more than likely wait in line, but it's worth the wait. They have a lot of staff members that continually check on you at your table. The food is delicious! We both had the loco moco, one with fried rice and one with steamed rice. The fried rice is top tier! We both ordered a side of spam and the Portuguese sausage. Every single thing on our plates was finger licking good, but my favorite thing was my Ube iced coffee. It was delicious and not too sweet which is a huge plus for me. The only downside is that now I want to plan a trip to Hawaii. Lol I highly recommend you go eat at Scramblers Cafe.
Scramblers is a solid breakfast spot that delivers great Hawaiian flavors, savory dishes, and sweet takes on breakfast. The service was helpful and friendly, and everything was quick and easy. This location has more of a restaurant feel than the norco one. Overall, it was a very satisfying experience. I recommend the captain mac nut French toast and the cowboy chilaquiles!
Great Hawaiian inspired brunch spot with a casual ambiance. You order at the register and then they find a table for you. There is no waitlist or reservations so the line can get pretty long on the weekend. Their macadamia nut French toast and loco moco are pretty popular. I also enjoy their fresh squeezed orange juice. I'd pass on the pancakes.. they were a little undercooked and not that great in my opinion.
LOVE the Norco location and thought it would be the same here, but I was disappointed. This place is busier, crowded, and the food wasn't as good despite the menu being the same. You order at the register, pay and are directed to a table (inside or outside, whichever you prefer). Luckily we ordered and were seated before the line got long & out the door. Employees were friendly but service was lacking as they simply drop off your order at your table and no longer check up on you. Our food arrived after a short wait. The only dish that we received hot/warm was the pancakes. My loco moco seemed as if it was sitting for a while, was barely room temp and the gravy seemed to solidify to an almost thick jelly consistency :( On the plus side, the Hawaiian iced coffee was delicious.
Oh loco moco with fried rice and hamburger, my beloved. I have been a diner since the Norco opening days in 2015 and I have to say that this is a good old bite of nostalgia. The service was very friendly, very efficient, and the ambiance was a bright and more fresh rendition of the norco location. The food was as good as I remembered and I will definitely recommend scramblers for any breakfast or brunch or lunch or dinner meals because I am loco moco with fried rice and hamburger's number 1 fan
I've seen this cafe being advertised to me on Yelp for quite some time, so I decided I needed to make a visit! Parking is difficult, especially on the weekends. We couldn't seem to find a parking spot and ended up parking on the street. This wasn't a full service type of restaurant. You order your food with the cashier after she finds a table for you. You pay and then situate yourself at the table. Your food and drink will be delivered to you, and that's that. Not saying that we minded, but I wanted to give other Yelpers a fair warning that you can't exactly put your name down on a waitlist. After looking at the menu, we decided to order their Loco Moco with Portuguese Sausages and try their ube waffle. We also decided to try their P.O.G. juice which comprised of pineapples, oranges, and guava juice. It didn't take long for our food to come out. Their Loco Moco was delicious and quite filling; my fiancé and I had to share. Their ube waffle was a bit overwhelming only because I'm not a crazy sweet tooth. There are pools of ube on the Belgian waffle, with coconut syrup and strawberry slices. I did really like their juice because it had a great combination of fruits. As we eat, we are enjoying the sunlight out in the patio. We are also listening to Hawaiian music being played in the background. Very aesthetic. I can see myself coming here frequently, especially when I have a craving. Great food and quick service!
The food was the highlight of our visit. We ordered the loco moco with hamburger and fried rice, as well as the Portuguese sausage with regular rice, and both dishes were delicious and full of flavor. Portions were generous and everything came out fresh. Service was good and the atmosphere was enjoyable overall. The only downside was that the iced coffee became a bit watery as the ice melted, and the floors and bathroom could have used more attention, as they were noticeably dirty during our visit. This place has the potential to be a 5-star experience with a little more focus on cleanliness and some improvement to the coffee. We would definitely come back for the food!
Breakfast / brunch cafe with a Hawaiian vibe located in or around the Ontario Mills shopping center. It's not a huge place but it's clean and nice. The service here is very friendly as well. Whenever I visit a new Hawaiian style Café, it's hard for me not to get the loco moco... and that's exactly what I ordered here. Island comfort food at its finest in my opinion. It was so delicious and it hit the spot. Just a really great spot that scratches that comfort food itch that's pretty quick and accommodating as well having solid prices. Easy to find parking is a plus. I hope to come back soon and try some of the other items on the menu. read more
First time here. The original store is in Norco(haven't been there). This spot is located on the outskirts of Ontario Mills. Parking can be challenging because there are other shops and restaurants. There is no street parking. The Ontario location only open 0700-1400. They have breakfast and lunch items. We came in for breakfast. I love a good Loco Moco, especially when the eggs are cooked perfectly. Not mentioning any names, but if you read some of my other posts, then you know. I love the options for the Loco Moco, hamburger, Spam, chicken katsu, or Portuguese sausage. They had a shredded beef short rib option the day we went. I ordered it and it was fantastic!! Definitely will be back to try the other combinations. I had to try the macaroni salad and it didn't disappoint. The island Chilaquiles has kalua pork and it was also delicious ! Ordering is a bit different. You order at the counter and they assign you a table number and then you go sit at your assigned table and eat. It was packed! Line out the door and a line for the whole duration of our meal. There are plenty of tables inside and outside. And they can accommodate large groups too. The staff is very friendly and they have staff walking around refilling (regular) coffee, if you order it, but the special drinks are one time. Again they are only open for breakfast and lunch. I think this will be our go to Loco Moco spot for a while. They have other breakfast options too, but I really enjoy a good Loco Moco. I usually dislike fried rice. Whenever I have a choice between that and regular steamed rice, I usually opt for the latter. I just much never saw the point of adding random ingredients to rice when I could have complete control over what I want as ulam. I remember when Toby and I were in Hawaii, she insisted I try some local fried rice. I ended up getting somewhat sick because whatever they put into it just didn't agree with my stomach. And it's not like I could've asked to take the offensive ingredients out because most places don't post exactly what goes into their version of the dish and if I asked to hold the sketchy stuff, it would end up being closer to steam rice anyway. But some places like Scrambler's Cafe just know how to make it right. They load it up with meat only put the bare minimum of veggie mix, and portion it out like there's a hungry man ordering it. Every bite is tremendously flavorful and filling. I love their fried rice and it's quickly become a go-to dish at Scrambler's--first at the Corona location and now at the new location. The service is great too. Everyone was nice and the refills came fast without prompting. Every restaurant should have service this competent. Also, the ambiance was great. The tables were spaced out and the noise was very respectful. It's just a chill place all around, fit for large parties and solo diners. It's a good eating place for anyone. Overall, this place is an amazing spot and I look forward to coming back here. read more

This place is locally owned. It's a nice little gem by Ontario mills. One thing I didn't like is you have to order your food and they seat you from the register I guess? Besides that the food was 7/10. My dad enjoyed is POG juice, My brother enjoyed his Chai Tea, I didn't get my coffee til after my food which was strange lol read more

Aloha Scramblers Cafe! Been driving past Scramblers Cafe for weeks, and we finally decided to stop in for breakfast. Walked in about 8:30ish, several tables busy, but no wait. Ordered our breakfast at the counter, and was brought to a table. Our food came out super fast. I had the harvest eggs Benedict, and my husband had a breakfast burrito. Both were so yummy! There are so many other yummy items on the menu that we're looking forward to try. Service is warm and friendly, and the restaurant is very clean. read more

My husband and I used to dine at their original location in Norco frequently. We were thrilled to see they opened up another location in Ontario, which is a bit closer for us when we're down in this area of the IE. They continue to bring unique flavors inspired by Hawaiian favorite dishes at this location and we were ecstatic to see our favorite items from their original location on the Ontario menu. Definitely a solid first visit. Scramblers Cafe in Ontario is located within a strip of businesses very close to Ontario Mills. They have free parking shared among the other businesses. The establishment seems to have a better layout and more seating than their other location; which is a plus. Their staff also seemed to have a good system down of seating customers AFTER they've placed their orders to ensure there isn't an issue with people just hoarding tables/seats. My family and I came in on a weekday for breakfast and they were pretty busy. The staff we interacted with were helpful and friendly. There was a little bit of a wait on our food, but again, they were busy for a weekday. Everything we ordered was tasty! Our order consisted of - Kalua Pork Benedict - Captain Mac'Nut French Toast - Spam Musubi Bowl & Auntie Lily's Meatball The food was really good and definitely made fresh. The Captain Mac'Nut French Toast is one of our favorites and definitely did not disappoint. The Spam Musubi Bowl with the "Meatball" was also good. The meatball wasn't really what I expected, but it wasn't bad; just different. I think my only gripe with the meal was the cost. Yes, I understand the cost of everything is up right now. However, the cost of the items seems to be high for the portion sizes and what you're ordering. For example, although the French Toast is great, I can't justify $15 for four pieces (literally two slices of bread cut in half). The Spam Musubi Bowl was also OVER $15 and, for most of the plate being rice with some scoops of spam, I can't justify it. We love what they're serving over at Scramblers Cafe in Ontario and, again, the food and service were good. It just isn't going to be a staple place we can frequent for overall value. read more
Stopped in to have something to eat while my husband took care of an account. Had the Turkey avocado sandwich with cheese. It came with delish fries that were double fried I think. But they had a nice crispy crust on them and so tasty. The restaurant is very clean and nicely decorated with Hawaiian music which made me feel like I was in Hawaii. The bathrooms are just beautiful and nicely decorated. Great service and food was very fresh. Recommend this place for sure. read more
Ono aka Delicious! First time trying this spot that went kinda viral and I'm glad I did. You order at the counter and then find a table. They will bring your food to you. This place gets a bit busy so it's best to come early. There is outside seating too. The Loco Moco was great! Serving is pretty big. Love the gravy. Reminds me of one of my favorite places on Oahu called Pancakes & Waffles BLD. The gravy and make or break a loco Moco. Portuguese Sausage was delicious. I definitely had enough rice from my loco Moco to enjoy it with. Ube coconut pancakes were yummy too! Not like fluffy pancakes. They were more like mochi pancakes. Ube and coconut sauce were great and complimented each other nicely. read more

Been here 2x. The loco moco with sausage is great! The katsu chicken and waffle was good, the chicken was mostly dark meat. The matcha wasn't my favorite but it's not a coffee shop so I didn't have high expectations. Oreo pancakes are always good! Overall, cute delicious spot. read more

We ordered: Clubhouse Benedict $16 Florentine Omelette $16 Ube iced coffee 6.50 Regular coffee 4.00 The food was just okay. The potatoes had hardly any seasoning and the omelette had the same problem with two sad slices of cheese slapped on the outside as seen in the photo. Would be nicer to use shredded cheese, so that it can be mixed with the eggs and is more evenly distributed throughout. The Benedicts were good, the yolk on point. I hardly ever go out for brunch (let alone bfast) but this place has been on my list! Apparently they are a part of the Aloha Stacks brand I ordered the kalua pork eggs benedict with over easy eggs instead and it was SO YUM!!! The only other time I've had something like this was in Hawaii. The homefries were really good too, crispy and soft. The price was average for the portion and the restaurant was busy but not packed (we didn't have much of a wait). You order at the counter and they assign you a table Definitely coming back to try their other items! read more
Food: The food has been SO good every time we've been here. On multiple occasions and we've loved it every time. The bbq beef was the best thing I've ever had here it's by far my favorite. The fried rice was so good. It all came out hot and fresh. Service: When you get there you go up to the counter and order and they appoint you a table to sit out and bring the food out to you. There are people walking around. Making sure everything is okay! They are always so friendly and polite. Inside: The inside is very big and very clean. They have a lot of tables inside and outside. Outside: There is a lot of parking and very easy to find! If there is a long line don't let it scare you away they get through the line pretty quick. Would totally recommend! If you're looking for a fluffy, silky, moist, flavorful, cheesy, egg omelette, you WONT find it here! Came in for brunch on Saturday morning and ordered an egg and cheese omelette-substituting the potatoes for a side of fried rice. The omelette was paper thin, dry, rubbery, and extremely overcooked. The cheese on the omelette was so overcooked, it hardened creating a chewy, crunchy, plastic texture on top. Flavor wise, I tasted nothing. Was I eating a piece of leather?! Also, why was the temperature of the food not even hot? Sadly, the fried rice was bland as well. It might as well have been white rice. (The kids menu offers an egg and cheese omelette with fries. Do you want your kids to consume this?) Luckily, we ordered the buttermilk pancakes to share. The pancakes were good, not great. They are your basic pancakes you'd get at any diner or even from a box you can make at home and it was the ONLY warm dish served at our table. My sister has been a long time costumer to the Norco location and raves about the food AND service. I don't know if I just ordered the wrong thing but I don't understand the hype. read more
Scramblers has been on our radar for places to try, and we are already dying to go back! When we arrived, there was a line going out the door to order. We maybe waited 10 minutes to place our orders, and it was worth it. I really like the way it's set up, you order and pay up front and the cashier designates a numbered table for you and your party. The customer service is also awesome here, everyone is very friendly! Scrambles definitely is more of a relaxed atmosphere. As for the food, it is delicious. We tried the loco moco and the ube pancakes. The loco moco was good, but the ube pancakes are a must! They are literally the most perfect pancakes I have ever had. I'm not one for a sweet breakfast item, but I would come in just for these pancakes. We can't wait ti come back! We'll definitely try a new savory item next time, but will be ordering the ube pancakes again! read more

I've been wanting to try this place for months. Because I work nearby and was early to work, I decided to come try this place early before it got packed. Got the carne asada omelet. The presentation was on point. The carne asada though was kind of sweet. That threw me off as I was use to carne asada from Mexican restaurants. It had good flavor for what it was but not what I was expecting. Expecting savory and got sweet. The ube coffee was good. I asked for less sweet and it was spot on. A tad bitter but it still mixed well. Overall, id try this place again but maybe I'll stick to plate lunches. The servers and cashier were super nice though. read more
Noticed this spot pop up on my Instagram feed a couple times and have been wanting to try it. I was in the Ontario Mills area so this was the perfect lunch spot! Ordered the loco moco which was amazing! The rice, eggs, and the burger patty was really good and seasoned well. The highlight though was the gravy which was delicious! Definitely recommend it as it was on par with some that I had in Oahu. Service was friendly and checks in on you throughout your time dining there. My hubby had been wanting to try this place for a while, and we finally made it out here! The restaurant was clean and well kept, and the service was friendly and attentive from start to finish. It's the type of spot where you order at the register first, grab a seat, and they bring the food out to you. We ordered the Island Chilaquiles, Loco Moco, fresh orange juice, and plain black coffee ...everything was delicious, we really enjoyed our breakfast. This is a new to me spot as I haven't been exploring the Ontario- Rancho Cucamonga area. I met my cousin for breakfast and we checked this place out Thanksgiving weekend. They do not have reservations, and it's just good old fashion order at the counter and then they seat you at a table. We went on a Sunday and of course the place was busy. From the moment we got there until way after we left the line stayed incredibly long. Lucky for us people do dine relatively quickly and so tables were constantly being freed up. This is a cute mom and pop Hawaiian breakfast place with such a diverse menu. I was literally confused at what to order because everything sounded good. They had French toast, burgers, breakfast platters, burritos. They also had several ube items including an ube matche latte why co was delicious but incredibly sweet. They also had fresh juices including pineapple, orange, guava, apple, and a combination of pineapple, orange, and guava - which was delicious. My cousin got the loco moco and I got the steak chilaquiles cause I'm a sucker for chilaquiles (it was so good) the chips had great integrity and weren't soggy. I also got a side of fried rice and that was really good too. They bring you a carafe of water for your table and hand you all you utensils and cups when you are paying at the counter. They also have plenty of different hot sauces which is important. The staff was very busy, but they still were able to check in on us a few times and bring us whatever we needed. Service was really good even though it was busy. We had a really good time and the ambiance in the restaurant was really lively, cozy, and the perfect place to catch up with someone. I highly recommend if you're in the Ontario area as breakfast or any of their menu items will be a hit. read more

My husband and I finally got to check out this new brunch spot, and we are so happy we did! Regrettably, I had never had Hawaiian food for breakfast. I did a quick brunch search, and Scramblers popped up, I thought, 'Let's give it a go!' I am so impressed by their kind service; the staff helped guide us as we were unsure of what to order. Once seated, we were served our drinks first. The coffee was robust and bold, and our water was served in a beautiful container. We arrived during a quiet moment, but the place became bustling immediately after. Despite the sudden rush, our food came quickly, and the smells emanating from our plates were incredible! Hubby had the Island Chilaquiles with Carne Asada- 10/10. The green salsa was insane and otherworldly, and I say this cautiously as I am very picky about my green salsa. I had the Carne Asada Omellette but opted for a side of white rice instead of the potatoes it comes with because I can't resist white rice from a Hawaiian place, lol. The entire combination, down to the Pico De Gallo side was fantastic. We didn't have space for dessert, so we HAVE to come back for those Ube pancakes and anything else from their incredible menu. Came to their Ontario location on 12/28/25 as their Norco location was unexpectedly closed. So glad we wound up here as the restaurant was larger and with great indoor and outdoor seating. You walk up to the counter, order your food and then are seated by their staff. Everyone here is super friendly and accommodating! I had their veggie omelet which was just OK- it was overcooked and therefore dry. Hubby had their eggs Benedict which he said was OK as well. Our friends had their Fried rice which they liked and the Ube pancake..we had a bite of the pancake and it was good- not to sweet at all. The potatoes they serve with breakfast seem to be frozen and then fried. In all- food was OK- not at all Hawaiian, service was outstanding and the restaurant was clean and modern.. read more

At this brunch location, you first order and pay. It was confusing since this was my first time, but the workers were nice and help guide us. We took a second to look at the menu, then we finally ordered. I ordered the chicken katsu and my boyfriend ordered the loco moco, both were delicious. read more
