Finally made the trip, and it was absolutely worth it! We've missed Souplantation for years and had been wanting to try Soup 'n Fresh ever since we heard about it. The moment we walked in, all the memories came rushing back. Even though the name has changed, the fresh salad bar, delicious soups, the smell of freshly baked bread, baked potatoes, and sweet potatoes all felt just as comforting as we remembered. Our favorites were the variety of fresh salad selections, the chicken noodle soup, and the clam chowder. The bright, spacious dining room and relaxed atmosphere made the experience even better. It's a bit of a drive for us, but we'll gladly keep coming back whenever we're craving salads and soups, yum yum.

Been wanting to go to this place for a while. Especially since this business model took a huge hit from the pandemic. If you're not familiar, this place has a very comparable model if not identical to Souplantation. Typically, from what I've seen or heard, there's usually a line. But I came here a little on the later side in the evening, so I was able to pretty much walk right in. The vibe was chill because it wasn't crazy busy when I went. If you're familiar, you start walking through the salad bar and pay once you get to the front - presumably after you made your initial salad. Once you get past the front, you find a table and you can go back and get some items from the hot food areas. There's of course also the soda machines and the dessert bars. Typically, I'm not a big fan of the buffet model, but honestly since this place is reasonably priced. So I look at it from a point of view where I pay a certain fee and get a good selection of fresh produce to make a salad with some hot items lol. The people are friendly and my overall meal experience was very enjoyable. I can't complain.

Basically a soup plantation. I was obsessed with soup plantation, so driving to Rancho Cucamonga to try this place was a must. It was exactly like Soup Plantation, from the salads to the breads and small pizzas and the soups; it all was the same and even tasted the same. The same concept, the same buffet style. Wow, it brought back memories. Since this is the only one of this kind remaining in California, this place gets packed. I waited about 30 mins to get in; there's a line that is crazy long, but the line does move quick. The main difference here is that the restaurant itself is way too clean. Soup Plantation was not always the cleanest, but here you can tell they put care into the place. I ate my salad and breads like a child trying pizza for the first time. I savored every bite because I don't know when I will return again because it is far, but damn, it was worth it. Worth the wait and worth the food. Lunch is about 15 bucks, while dinner is about 20 dollars. Not bad to be honest. Can't wait to drive back.

Came here for my sister's birthday. Honestly this place triggered my nostalgia more than anything else. The food is great, the chicken noodle soup hits just as much as I remember it from my childhood. Prices are more than fair, $17.99 for adults for lunch for all you can eat. I'm glad a business like this can be brought back after Souplantation went bankrupt. Even the interior reminds me of the old Souplantations I grew up with. Service is minimal and efficient, rightly so for a self service buffet. Whether you came to Souplantation in the past or are a new customer looking for a healthy-ish buffet, I recommend Soup'n Fresh! Note that this location accepts reservations for large groups which is recommended to avoid waiting in lines outside. The other locations may not accept reservations

Came back again and they have huge lines and an hour wait still, but they are more organized in that they only let small groups in at a time so it's no longer crowded on the inside. All the salad ingredients and the soups are delicious and fresh. My only reason for not giving 5 stars is due to the miserably uncomfortable metal chairs with zero back support.

Stopped in for lunch today with my wife. I hear there's usually lines, but must have beat the crowd. Started down the salad bar line. Everything was VERY fresh! Great selection and everything was very clean. Was greeted by the cashier, who was very nice. Paid and found a booth. I visited the soup area, which had a great selection of soups, and three types of pasta. Everything looked good. The bakery section had some muffin choices, breads, pizza, and baked potatoes. Prices were reasonable and sr ice was great! We will be back.

Felt nostalgic eating here. The layout, food, and decor really brought me back to Souplantation. I would say the only difference I noticed were the cornbread and chicken noodle soup

I've been wanting to try this out for the nostalgia of Souplantation and was especially excited for the cornbread and whipped honey butter that I used to really like. Setup and menu items are pretty much identical. You have your long salad bar to start, then a soup section, the baked goods area, and the middle with your random assortment of fruits, ice cream, drinks, etc. Salad options were as good as I remembered them to be. I think they might've changed the noodles in the chicken noodle soup, as well as the potatoes in the clam chowder because I don't remember them tasting that way but it's also been a really long time. Tasted pretty standard though. Was honestly disappointed in the baked goods items though. Cornbread and whipped honey butter did not hit the same and was pretty dry/bland, as with the brownies and blueberry muffins. The cheese bread was the best baked item for me. Ice cream was definitely nostalgic. Overall, a fair experience for the nostalgia. Didn't hit quite like it used to but may come back later at some point to try again. Our used dishes on the table were taken away very quickly, so we never had much clutter on our table.

Everything was pretty solid but as an avid souplantation person, for some reason it didn't hit the same. All the components were there though, the classic clam chowder, chicken noodle soup, pizza bread, pastas, salad bar. All good! We did notice that the muffins (corn, blueberry & chocolate were a bit dry). But everything else was very solid! All were well done but the recipes did taste a little different. A bit too far from me to make the trek out for it but when in the area, a nice choice. Ambiance looks the same as the souplantation previously and service is about the same too.

I really enjoyed my visit overall and would definitely come back. The all-you-can-eat soup and salad buffet had a great variety of fresh vegetables, salads, toppings, breads, and several soup options. Everything tasted fresh, and my family and I piled up two plates each filled with fresh tasty food. The only downside was the long line to get in. We had to wait quite a while before being seated, and the buffet area was pretty busy during peak hours. Once we got our table, though, the service was friendly and the food was consistently replenished. If you don't mind a bit of a wait, this is a great spot for a satisfying and affordable meal. I'd recommend going during off-peak hours to avoid the crowds.

Welp.... Salad were good, soups? Not so much, although the chili was ok. The bread, cornbread and pizzas kind of dry. Ice cream bar was a disaster, sprinkles everywhere on the counter. We went to the one in Rancho Cucamonga since we were in the neighborhood. The line wasn't too bad since we got there around 4 PM on Sunday afternoon, we probably stand in line around 20 minutes. The inside was kind of dirty, food everywhere on the floor, seems the waitresses having a hard time keeping up with the crowds.

Ask the Community - Soup 'n Fresh

Do they allow solo dining? I know a lot of buffet-style places don't allow it.

    Yes! They are super chill.

Do they take tap and pay?

    Yes

Can they accommodate a party of 18?

They probably can but they are usually very busy that it would be hard to get 18 seats together. I would call them first to verify!

Is there still a massive line on the weekends?

    YES!! 2o minute wait average

    Price for seniors?

$15.99 for Lunch, $17.99 for Dinner

When is the best time to dine in terms of less wait time?

    2PM on a weekday

What is time limit for person?

    Two hours

What is the wait for today?

I've been here 3 times in the last 4 months. Each time I didn't have to wait at all.

What age for the Senior Discount price?

They don't check IDs or anything, so it's not really that important. I would say 65 definitely qualifies, possibly 62, since you can start collecting Social Security at that age. Probably not down to AARP membership minimums.

    Do they have gluten-free options?

No. This is the exact same set-up as Souplantation was, so you'll likely have to avoid any of the baked goods (pizza, cakes, etc.)...but you can build-your-own salad and have some soups. They're not labelled as "GF" so you'll have to read the…

What time do people start lining up on sunday mornings?

Well before the restaurant is open... I remember waiting 20 minutes prior to opening, and there was already a line.

What is the current cost per person? Is drink included?

$16.99 Adult lunch, $18.99 Adult dinner. Soft drinks cost $3.29 extra

Is the food at this restaurant friendly to people with nut allergies?

Probably not! Since I notice nuts on a list of a lot of stuff from salads, soups to desert. Sorry

I noticed the website has a Reservation tab? Has anyone used it? Would be driving up from San Diego.

There is no reservation option. If you go I recommend, weekdays.and go during non typical eatting times. If you go on the weekend during prime hours there will be a line out the door to the street

Is a drink included with the buffet price? What age do you have to be for the senior discount? Do they have besides Pepsi products the strawberry lemonade, etc? Thanks.

Drinks are not included, 55 and wiser is the senior age for the discount. Don't know about Pepsi since our family does not drink sodas but they do have stew berry lemonade.…

Do they have a to go option?

Does Motley Crue have a good singer? The answer to both is no

Where can get a coupon for this restaurant?

I honestly don't think you need coupon since the price is already decent in this economy. This is not Souplantation.

What's the busiest peak? i'm pregnant and cannot be standing in this heat for 2 hours😩

Go on a weekday and the wait should be shorter.

Is it AYCE or is it only one plate per person?

    AYCE!

What age does one have to be for the senior discount?

I believe that question was already answered...55.

Fresh in-house, handmade, delicious pastas & flavorful sauces, customer service can use a little bit of tweaking. You order at the counter, pay & then your food is delivered to your table. There were about 4-5 counter height tables:/hairs. We sat at a regular table to accommodate my foot with a boot. The food arrived at a reasonable amount of time. Of note, unrelated to our visit, an issue erupted between a customer & a patron that felt uncomfortable for myself & our group because it became a shouting match. This definitely could've been handled in a more professional manner. I'm not placing any blame on either party but de-escalating it would've been appreciated. Overall, the food was delicious. The pasta tasted fresh. The pesto sauce was a tad salty for my taste but it was flavorful. The meatballs were soft, you can taste the quality in their food. We noticed a few flies/gnats flying around our areas & had to swat them away plenty of times. Despite the issues encountered, our group had a pretty good enough time at this pasta shop. I hope the business owner is able to take some of these things in consideration for the sake of its success. Thank you.
