I've been wanting to try this out for the nostalgia of Souplantation and was especially excited for the cornbread and whipped honey butter that I used to really like. Setup and menu items are pretty much identical. You have your long salad bar to start, then a soup section, the baked goods area, and the middle with your random assortment of fruits, ice cream, drinks, etc. Salad options were as good as I remembered them to be. I think they might've changed the noodles in the chicken noodle soup, as well as the potatoes in the clam chowder because I don't remember them tasting that way but it's also been a really long time. Tasted pretty standard though. Was honestly disappointed in the baked goods items though. Cornbread and whipped honey butter did not hit the same and was pretty dry/bland, as with the brownies and blueberry muffins. The cheese bread was the best baked item for me. Ice cream was definitely nostalgic. Overall, a fair experience for the nostalgia. Didn't hit quite like it used to but may come back later at some point to try again. Our used dishes on the table were taken away very quickly, so we never had much clutter on our table.

Everything was pretty solid but as an avid souplantation person, for some reason it didn't hit the same. All the components were there though, the classic clam chowder, chicken noodle soup, pizza bread, pastas, salad bar. All good! We did notice that the muffins (corn, blueberry & chocolate were a bit dry). But everything else was very solid! All were well done but the recipes did taste a little different. A bit too far from me to make the trek out for it but when in the area, a nice choice. Ambiance looks the same as the souplantation previously and service is about the same too.

My husband and I came here on a trip to big bear. As huge fans of souplantation when it was open, we loved soup n fresh. The nostalgia of feeling like we were back in 2018 eating at souplantation when we were dating was such a nice feeling. They have a lot of similar dishes, the salad bar doesn't have as much options as souplantation does but I cannot complain about soup n fresh at all. Everything was delicious. We weren't aware of there being a long line when we got there and again, not an issue but be aware of that when going. We waited about an hour on a Saturday around 7 pm

This place is just like Souplantation from back in the day. It's a self serve buffet of soups and salads. You go in and get yourself a plate and walk down the lane and gather your salads, veggies, pastas, soups and baked potatoes. Then you go pay and then find yourself a seat and enjoy your food. The highlights for me was the chicken noodle soup, clam chowder, cheese pizza and Chinese chicken salad with corn, peas and egg whites and honey mustard dressing. Every time I leave the table for refills my plates are removed from the table so that's nice to come back to a clean table. The place is clean but seats are not as comfortable. Coke by and check them out. They also have a location in Chino Hills off the 71.

I remember Sweet Tomato in NorCal, and Souplantation in SoCal. Now Soup 'n Fresh is bringing everyone together for a nostalgic experience. The set up and layout is pretty much identical. Build your own salad bar, pay, be seated, then eat or grab more food! I always grab more food before I start eating. Baked potatoes, pizza slices, small muffins, honey butter, pasta, an assortment of soups to choose from (my favorite part), plenty of toppings (shredded cheese, sour cream, butter, green onions, tortilla chips, and soup & oyster crackers + more) fruits, dessert, soft serve....it's all there. There's always long wait, so be prepared to stand in line for a while. Enjoy!

Finally went to check this place out this morning, hoping Superbowl Sunday would be less busy! Got there right at opening at 10:30am and there was already a line, but made it inside only 15 minutes later so not too bad (I've seen other people had to wait up to 40 minutes at opening). The Souplantation vibes right off the bat were perfect. The salad bar was almost identical. It was missing a few items, but had everything else down to the tuna taragon (which they perfectly replicated on taste) and wonton chicken salad (this unfortunately wasn't quite the same. it was missing the dressing and was much more muted in flavor. a bit bland). They had almost all of the same soups and pastas. The chili was good. The broccoli cheddar was coagulated and wouldn't recommend. The coveted chicken noodle tasted the same, however didn't have those THICK Souplantation noodles. Still good! The pizza bread, delicious. Cornbread was good. The blueberry muffins were good but a little muted in flavor as well. They tasted almost the same, but just not quite full flavor as Souplantation. Whipped honey butter still amazing! The ice cream was still yummy. They didn't have any toppings at this location though! No sprinkles or Oreo crumbs. And they had full size cones instead of the mini. Overall, a good experience! Probably a 7.5/8 compared to the OG but thankful it's an option!

Soup n' Fresh is a great spot if you're craving soups and comfort food. It reminds me of the old Fresh Choice / Sweet Tomatoes / Soup Plantation days--in the best way. There's plenty of room to sit and relax, a solid yogurt selection, and a wide variety of soups that actually feel homemade and satisfying. It's simple, comforting, and hits the spot when you want something warm and easy. If you live near Covina, this place is definitely worth the visit.

Soup N Fresh definitely makes me miss Souplantation--in the best way. The food is good, everything looks fresh, and there's a nice variety to choose from. You can tell they put effort into keeping the ingredients well stocked and appealing. The people working there are friendly and welcoming, which makes the experience even better. The overall vibe is comfortable and nostalgic if you were a Souplantation fan. The only downside is the wait time. Waiting over 1.5 hours is pretty rough and takes away from an otherwise great experience. If they can improve the wait or seating process, this would easily be a 5-star spot. Still worth checking out if you're craving a fresh, salad-bar style meal.

If you're craving a spot that delivers fresh, flavorful soups, crisp salads, delicious bakery items, and mouth watering pastas. This spot is a gem worth bookmarking and captures the spirit of the former Souplantations. Think cozy comfort food with quality ingredients, perfect for lunch or relaxed dinner. The soup lines change frequently from rich creamy classics to bright broth based bowls that hit the spot! Don't forget the salads with vibrant greens and plenty of toppings with delicious dressings make it easy to build a meal that feels healthy and indulgent. Don't skip the baked goods that include focaccia, cornbread, and sourdough breads that elevate the whole experience . The pastas are also amazing and mouthwatering and will round your meal and add a comforting touch. This spot definitely succeeded our expectations and warrants return visits! We'll definitely be back!

Back here once again to start off the New Year! There was a long line today but I got inside in 30 mins which is the fastest I waited. Food is solid and salad is fresh. The soups are always consistent and feel my heart with warmth.

Walking into Soup n' Fresh feels like stepping into a very welcome throwback. The restaurant is sparkling clean and the whole setup brings back that comforting salad and soup buffet experience that's surprisingly hard to find these days. Everything I tried was fresh and really flavorful, which made it dangerously easy to keep going back for "just one more" bowl or plate. Self control is definitely helpful here because the food is so tasty and the variety makes you want to try everything. If you enjoy building your own salad masterpiece and pairing it with a warm bowl of soup, Soup n' Fresh is absolutely worth checking out.

If you're old enough to remember dining chains like Soup Plantation or Soup Exchange (around the late '80s?), you have the basic idea behind Soup 'n Fresh. Dine on a variety of salad, soup, pasta, bread, and dessert selections in a buffet-style setting. From my understanding, there is usually a wait to enter, but we visited on a weekday prior to the lunch rush and were immediately granted access. The bussing staff is efficient and friendly, continually surveying the eating area and quickly clearing tables of used plates and debris. Similarly, the food service areas are well-maintained to ensure spills and garnish droppings/drippings are cleaned up quickly, as well. Prices are typical for a buffet - even if the selection is limited primarily to salads and soups. If seeking a wide variety of different main course proteins, this probably not the place for you; however, the salad ingredients, dressings, and soups available appear to be made with quality ingredients. A senior discount is also available for older folks. I probably wouldn't travel to Soup 'n Fresh again if not in the area (as it is several cities away - about a 20-minute drive by freeway), but I would love to see one open closer to my residence. If you like salads and soups, this restaurant should be on your short list of places to check out.

This is my second time visiting this location. If you're local, try to go on weekdays instead. We initially tried to come on the weekend, and the line was out of hand. It was so long!!! I also forgot to write a review during my first visit. So we just came back a couple of days ago on a weekday, and the line was manageable. We even made it to the lunch pricing! YAY! Even though the parking lot is vast, during peak hours, parking can be a pain to find. Parking is always half the battle; the other half is waiting in line. Again, it wasn't too bad on a weekday, but we still had to wait out there for some time. It's literally like what all the Yelpers are saying, it's the old Souplantation vibe. You come in, get a plate of salad or two, pay for your entrance fee and a drink if you choose, and a staff member will help you find a table. Once you're seated, eat the salad, or you're free to roam and grab soups, pasta, potatoes, pizzas, muffins, fruits, and/or ice creams. The staff members we've encountered were all friendly and very prompt in greeting, seating, and clearing the table. Other patrons were also generally courteous. The dining experience inside is very nostalgic for Souplantation. My favorite soup was the cream of mushrooms. I tried the cheddar broccoli, house chili, and the clam chowder as well. The soups were decent, except for the clam chowder, which lacked flavor. I love topping my soups with extra bacon bits and shredded cheese! The pasta and pizza slices were very decent. This place is perfect for families!

Do they allow solo dining? I know a lot of buffet-style places don't allow it.

    Yes

Do they take tap and pay?

    Yes

Can they accommodate a party of 18?

They probably can but they are usually very busy that it would be hard to get 18 seats together. I would call them first to verify!

Is there still a massive line on the weekends?

    YES!! 2o minute wait average

    Price for seniors?

$15.99 for Lunch, $17.99 for Dinner

When is the best time to dine in terms of less wait time?

    2PM on a weekday

What is time limit for person?

    Two hours

What is the wait for today?

I've been here 3 times in the last 4 months. Each time I didn't have to wait at all.

What age for the Senior Discount price?

They don't check IDs or anything, so it's not really that important. I would say 65 definitely qualifies, possibly 62, since you can start collecting Social Security at that age. Probably not down to AARP membership minimums.

    Do they have gluten-free options?

No. This is the exact same set-up as Souplantation was, so you'll likely have to avoid any of the baked goods (pizza, cakes, etc.)...but you can build-your-own salad and have some soups. They're not labelled as "GF" so you'll have to read the… Read more

What time do people start lining up on sunday mornings?

Well before the restaurant is open... I remember waiting 20 minutes prior to opening, and there was already a line.

What is the current cost per person? Is drink included?

$16.99 Adult lunch, $18.99 Adult dinner. Soft drinks cost $3.29 extra

Is the food at this restaurant friendly to people with nut allergies?

Probably not! Since I notice nuts on a list of a lot of stuff from salads, soups to desert. Sorry

I noticed the website has a Reservation tab? Has anyone used it? Would be driving up from San Diego.

There is no reservation option. If you go I recommend, weekdays.and go during non typical eatting times. If you go on the weekend during prime hours there will be a line out the door to the street

Is a drink included with the buffet price? What age do you have to be for the senior discount? Do they have besides Pepsi products the strawberry lemonade, etc? Thanks.

Drinks are not included, 55 and wiser is the senior age for the discount. Don't know about Pepsi since our family does not drink sodas but they do have stew berry lemonade.… Read more

Do they have a to go option?

Does Motley Crue have a good singer? The answer to both is no

Where can get a coupon for this restaurant?

I honestly don't think you need coupon since the price is already decent in this economy. This is not Souplantation.

What's the busiest peak? i'm pregnant and cannot be standing in this heat for 2 hours😩

Go on a weekday and the wait should be shorter.

Is it AYCE or is it only one plate per person?

    AYCE!

Parking situation may differ if you go in the middle of the day as it is in a plaza with a grocery store and other shops/restaurants. The restaurant is also on the smaller side in terms of seating so keep that in mind too if you go at a busier day/time. I ordered the beef noodle soup non-spicy. It's a very filling meal with good chunks of beef and a lot of noodles. I have a low spice tolerance, hence why I had to order it non-spicy, but I'm sure the spicy version is even better. Although the name of the shop is Cup Noodles, the noodles they use are definitely not as they are of better quality than you would get in an instant noodle cup. What stood out to me the most was how the egg in the noodle soup was cooked! It was fried and most of the yolk was cooked through expect for the very center which had a little pocket in the yolks that was a tiny bit runny. My friend also ordered a pepper fungus (woodear mushroom) for the table which was yummy and a good palette cleanser/flavor break while eating the noodles.
