the food here is so delicious! the pan fried dumplings and xiao long bao were my favorite bites. the curry pan fried dumpling was so good. the soup of each one is so flavorful and pairing it with your custom sauce that you can create at your table makes it taste even better. it's nice how they have a sign on how to eat it so people who haven't tried this before have the best experience eating it! the popcorn chicken had an amazing breading and was so light and crunchy and the sweet and sour sauce paired perfectly with it. the braised pork belly was also delicious, i'm not a huge fan of lots of fat but my dad loved it. the chocolate bear bun is so cute and i wish there was even more chocolate filling but it was still so delicious! the store itself was empty with only us at lunch but they definitely deserve more customers because our food came out so quickly and was so delicious. the store is decorated so well with cute character dumplings and fun steam decorations all over the walls. it was a bit quiet at first with no music but then they put the fifa world cup game on the tv and it was fun to eat and watch the game. would definitely come back!! read more

I feel bad for giving this place 3stars as the staffs were very nice and told us that we could wait inside while they are getting ready. Really I think it only deserves 2. The place isn't sanitary. Most of their tables are sticky and if you look at it in certain angle you can see patches of oil marks on them. Table surfaces are sticky. Sauce bottles are sticky. I felt restless when seated. It was 10:30 am and they are the only place open at that shopping center. Their most popular dish the pan fried bun is not satisfying to me. The bun it self felt stale, there were some juice inside but the flavor of the filing and the outside dough were just terrible. My husband didn't like the noodle he got either. Let's start with the Rainbow Xiao Long Bao dumplings. They were honestly disappointing. A bit hard, kind of dry, and nowhere near as juicy as other spots doing the same thing. When you're selling dumplings, that bite better be bursting and these just weren't. The cute kitty bun (which honestly is one of the main reasons people come here) looked adorable... but taste-wise? Dry. Not enough filling. The taro wasn't sweet or flavorful enough to really qualify as dessert. It had potential but didn't deliver. Popcorn chicken was decent. They had solid flavor, but it could've been crispier. The spicy & sweet cucumbers were okay too, but presentation matters. They were chopped pretty sloppy. A little more care in plating would go a long way. Now credit where it's due. The House Special Beef Noodle Soup was actually very good. Rich broth, comforting, especially with the cold weather. I'm quite disappointed in Bun World. We arrived a little after opening and there was a wait. We were told 30 mins but it had been at least an hour before we were sat. This place honestly needs more employees. Its new, its trending, its popular. There were only 2 people attending to the front of house. We saw a chef come out and help bus the tables. The food came out sporadically likely due to the lack of employees. A lot of the popular items were sold out. I encourage putting up sold out signs so people aren't waiting the whole time to be told the item is sold out. The food was mediocre. A lot of the dishes lacked flavor and some were cold. This place is near the Ontario Mills in one of the strip malls. There are a lot of different establishments around parking can get tight. Upon entry, we were seated right away. I didn't understand why but there were tissue boxes on every table. I think it's what they use instead of napkins. The server came and took our order right away. There was a little sauce area to pick up sauce. We ordered several items in order to check out their menu. The food wasn't all that great. The beef roll was cold! The meat inside was cold so that was weird. Good thing the flavor of the beef roll was good otherwise I was close to sending it back. The pork chop fried rice was mostly bone. We scanned the QR Code and noticed that over half of the items we wanted to try were unavailable. That should have been a warning of what was to come, but we opted to stay. I'm an avid dumpling lover and try different Asian spots all over Southern CA. I happen to be in Rancho Cucamonga for work. I was inspired by coworkers who tried this place earlier in the day and swooned over how good it was. My honest take is that it's a 2-3 star experience. The food is ok. Just ok. Not great or earth shattering. Service was bleh. The customer next to me ordered ginger and the server brought it to me by mistake. The next door customer was livid and they complained under their breath the entire time. The ambiance feels like a high school cafeteria. Nothing really clean with a communal sauce sharing table. I was not impressed. I ordered the shrimp & pork wonton soup. Had to send it back because it was cold. They brought me a piping hot soup the next time around. Should have gotten it right the first time. The pan fried pork dumplings were good, but I've had better in Orange County. Ordered the oolong milk tea with "jellies"...that was interesting. The condiments are at a table near the kitchen but it is unclear whether you are supposed to ask for them or to grab them yourself. I enjoyed the noodles even though they weren't anything special - just a light clean broth that was really nice, along with some noodles that were slightly chewy in texture. The house dumplings were a "must try" item but I wasn't a fan and got bored of it after eating one. They're very filling so if you want to eat other things, I would recommend a smaller order of them. We didn't get our order of spicy wontons and in the 20+ minutes (I checked) that we were waiting for them, no one checked on us. We flagged them over to let them know and they had forgotten it. In a small space like this one, with only two other parties you would think they'd check on the table that was just sitting there or ask if we wanted the check if they thought we were done. Unfortunately it gave me the address to Norms in the Ontario Mills parking lot (gah) but amazingly enough my son used Yelp, what I should have done to begin with.
