Heard about a Hawaiian brunch spot so I wanted to check it out. They're located in a strip mall. There's a parking lot but it was quite busy. You go to a walk up counter and order your food before sitting down. There's a lot of different menu options but we landed on a traditional loco moco, the ube pancakes and the ube iced coffee. I love loco mocos and this one was a good one. I was just bummed that there was only one burger patty. For what it was worth, I was hoping for more than one patty. The ube pancakes were fire!! Nice and fluffy and tasty. The ube iced coffee was a bit disappointing. It had a bit of a sour flavor. We asked if that's how it was supposed to be and were told that their coffee is a little more bitter than others. I was looking forward to a smooth and creamy drink but this wasn't it. The interior was very bright and airy. The music helped transport me to Hawaii. Overall, this place is ok. May give it another try at another time. read more

Finally got to try this place out. Came here around 10 am on a Sunday. Be mindful they will have a line out the door. Once we got to ordering it was pretty fast. Customer service was exceptional. The staff were nice and friendly. We chose to sit outside since we had a party of 8. Food came out at an adequate time. 10-15 min. Only took a few pics. I'll review them below. I ordered the garden stuffed crepes. They were ok. I feel it may need a bit more seasoning. Homemade potatoes were ok too. I put hot sauce for both. I would rate this a 3.8 Ube waffle were for the kiddos. They enjoyed them. I tried them and they were good. I would reorder it next time. I rate it a 5 Iced ube matcha was their new drink. It was good. I would probably try their ube iced coffee next time. I would rate it a 4 Would I come back again? Yes to try their other items. Great for groups and family. read more

My friends and family kept sharing this spot on IG, so I finally decided to stop by and see what the hype was about. I went on a Saturday morning and, honestly, I expected it to be packed -- but it wasn't too bad. There was a short line, but it moved quickly. It's a sit-down restaurant, but you order at the counter first before they assign you a seat. It's a pretty efficient setup, though personally, I would've preferred table service -- mainly because later I wanted to order more food but didn't feel like waiting in line again. I ordered the Loco Moco with fried rice and a side of Portuguese sausage. Everything was so flavorful -- the fried rice had a nice savory kick, the sausage was perfectly seasoned, and the beef was tender and juicy. The gravy tied it all together beautifully, and the sunny-side-up eggs were cooked just right with that perfect runny yolk. I'd absolutely order it again. If I could change one thing, I'd love to see it served in a big bowl topped with green onions or fried garlic, with maybe some soy sauce or vinegar sauces on the side to really elevate the experience. Now, the Ube Pancakes -- wow. They were fluffy, perfectly cooked, and served with coconut syrup. Just perfection. Sweet, but not overwhelming. Easily one of the best pancake dishes I've had in a while. I ended up ordering another one to go for my parents to try because it was that good. To drink, I had their Hawaiian Iced Coffee with salted sea cream and macadamia nut flavor. I was a bit skeptical at first, but it turned out to be delicious -- creamy, balanced, and not overly sweet. It paired surprisingly well with the pancakes too. Overall, Scramblers Cafe definitely lived up to the hype. Everything I tried was solid, and I'm already planning my next visit to explore more of their menu. I'm a fan -- can't wait to come back! read more

I've come here twice for breakfast. I usually go around 8am and it does start to get busy after that time. You have to order at the register first before the cashier directs you to a table, so there might be a line out of the door but it moves pretty fast. Their iced coffees are pretty good, I've ordered the Ube and the Hawaiian Iced Coffees and would get both again. The Kalua Pork Benedict is delicious and I would recommend if you like egg Benedict's. The Chicken Bacon Waffle was good and a bit on the spicy side. The Ube Pancakes were delicious, if you're into breakfast on the sweeter side, I recommend ordering those. read more

My husband and I came here for breakfast for the first time. They are in the plaza on the south side of Fourth Street, where Rubio's used to be. My husband was originally going to order a veggie omelette but once he saw the menu, he changed his mind and went with the Loco Moco ($17) and added a side of spam, haha. I saw the chalkboard sign outside that they had avocado toast but ultimately went with the Portuguese sausage breakfast which came with 2 eggs and potatoes ($16). Gotta try what they're known for the first time and we can always go healthy next time, right? I really wanted to try the Ube pancake and asked if I could just get a single pancake. They said I could and it was $6.00. For our drinks, I got the P.O.G. Juice ($6) and my husband got an Aloha canned drink ($3). There are about 28 tables from what I could tell which includes an outdoor patio. After ordering, they told us which table to sit at and brought our food out . We liked the casual setting and it was nicely decorated. Everything we ate was absolutely delicious. Their sister brand is Aloha Stacks, which is so cool. I've been there before but this was my first time at Scrambler's. They were playing some old school Hawaiian jams too and made us realize we haven't been back into Hawaii in a while. We will definitely be back to try more menu items. read more

We decided to have breakfast here on a Sunday morning after seeing all the great reviews about the Norco location and were excited to try this new spot closer to home. When we arrived, the line was out the door, but there was still plenty of seating available. Hawaiian music was playing, setting a cheerful island vibe right away. Someone even came out to offer menus while we waited, which was a nice touch--it made ordering at the counter quick and easy once we got inside. The setup is well organized. When you reach the counter, they ask how many are in your party and assign you a table number. After placing and paying for your order, you head to your designated table, where they bring a water jug and cups right away. My husband and I ordered the Loco Moco with Spam and eggs over medium, substituting fried rice for an extra $2.50 (total $17.50). I asked for my gravy on the side, which they accommodated perfectly. My son had the kids' pancake meal ($7) with bacon and eggs--we requested crispy bacon, but it came out a bit soggy. However, the pancake was delicious! We also ordered a side of sourdough toast ($3). For drinks, we both went with fountain sodas--Diet Pepsi for me and regular Pepsi for my husband. Unfortunately, the soda mix was off, so he switched to fruit punch instead. Fountain drinks are $3.75. The ambiance inside is fantastic--it genuinely feels like a little slice of Hawaii right in Ontario. The music, decor, and lively energy make it a fun place to eat. Our booth was comfortable, and overall, the restaurant had a bright, welcoming vibe. Customer service was excellent--everyone was friendly and attentive, though maybe a little too attentive since multiple people stopped by to check on us every few minutes. Not a complaint, just something we noticed. By the time we left, the place was completely packed, and the line was still out the door. There's one large communal table with barstool seating for bigger parties, but most of the seating is better suited for smaller groups and they do have outdoor seating. Food Ratings: * Loco Moco - 7/10 * Biscuits & Gravy - 6/10 * Kids Pancake Meal - 7/10 Overall, it was a great experience with good food, friendly service, and a fun Hawaiian atmosphere. We'll definitely be back to try more dishes next time! read more

The food was delicious however the service was absurd. Specifically the guy with a curly frow hair has a nasty attitude problem. His demeanor and condescending tone is disgusting and unacceptable. Not to mention the bathrooms wet nasty and not clean. We notified a team member and they seemed to not care. Also the back door was open and SO MANY FLIES WERE INSIDE! We even overheard another customer notify the team about the flies. Put fans on the doors to prevent flies from getting in. For a 100$ breakfast bill I expect so much more. Get it together. read more

I was shopping nearby at the Ontario Mills across the street and wanted to try a new restaurant. I got the Hawaiian bbq mix ($19.90) with a side of biscuits and gravy ($5) with Hawaiian pog drink ($6). The place was busy, with outside tables were filled and the inside with most tables filled. I ordered at the register first, then took my table where they brought the food. The staff brought a large water pitcher for each table along with utensils. I got the pog drink which is Passion Orange Guava mixed together. My bbq mix came with fried rice, macaroni salad, sliced beef and chicken katsu. The fried rice upgrade was $2 extra since it's usually plain white rice. The beef was chewy but it was marinated nicely. I did like the chicken katsu much more. The breading was not too thick and the sauce that came with it reminds me of Japanese brand, Bulldog sauce. I did like their biscuits and gravy, which came with three soft, flaky biscuits smothers in white sausage gravy. The gravy was not too salty and seasoned well. They close at 2pm. The staff is nice and the place is clean. read more

I've been going to the Scramblers location in Norco for years and have always enjoyed the breakfast fusion. I was so thrilled when I found out that they had opened a second location in Ontario--right by Ontario Mills if you want to get your shopping on before or after brunch. The first think I noticed was just how much more spacious this new location is--plenty of booths and tables inside the building with a wraparound area outside with overhead covering for the heat and and heaters for when it's cold. I ended up going for their more simple, but delicious, Triple 2: two pancakes, two eggs, and two Portuguese sausages. They also upgraded my syrup to maple syrup with no extra charge. My total came to $14.14. The eggs were perfectly scrambled, pancakes nice and fluffy, and sausages grilled to perfection. I'm so happy for the owner and I will definitely be back with more people especially since it's closer to me and much more spacious. Can't wait to try out some more items! read more

I'm so glad they opened a location near me because I have been wanting to try their Norco but never got the chance too. My family & I went on a Sunday afternoon. Luckily they weren't too busy. When you get there, you line up & order. I was trying to get a table as my dad is handicap & wanted to sit while me & my mom were ordering & they said I have to order before sitting. He just sat at a table & when I ordered they were trying to assign me a table number. I told them my dad sat at a table already, so I just gave them the table number. IMO I don't like this concept. I see other handicap people wanting to sit as their party was in line to order as well. I think they should just give you a number after you ordered. My family ordered the Ube pancakes, and their beef lunch plate & chicken lunch plate. The Ube was . It's was so good. Just like what I had in Hawaii! You get big portions, enough for 2 or 3 people to share. The beef lunch plate has good portions. A lot of beef to rice & Mac ratio. The chicken lunch was a little disappointing. The chicken portion seemed rather small to me. I wish more chicken good. The chicken was juicy & flavorful. My only negative was the chicken wasn't cut up. I also ordered the iced green tea. I didn't really care for it as it was very creamy & you can hardly taste the green tea. They have indoor & outdoor seating, which as I mentioned is assigned seating. Overall, I would return as I would like to try Their other food items. read more

Scramblers Cafe in Ontario was a really enjoyable breakfast stop with fun Hawaiian vibes that instantly put me in a good mood. The line looks intimidating at first, but it moves faster than expected since you order first and then get assigned a table, which helped things flow smoothly. Prices felt fair, especially for the portions, and the service definitely had that aloha spirit that makes you feel welcomed instead of rushed. The food was pretty good and satisfying, exactly what I was hoping for to start the day. It's a lively spot that knows how to keep things moving while still feeling relaxed and friendly. read more

I'm legit Pacific Islander and I approve of this cafe! They are located on the outskirts of Ontario Mills Mall up against the 15 freeway, south of 4th st. My family had been here before and told me it's similar to this other Hawaiian brunch cafe we visited in Laguna Hills called Plumeria by Stacks. You walk in and order and pay for your food and then they deliver it to your table. I ordered a stack of the white lava pancakes for the table and then a breakfast melt for me. The white lava pancakes were SO GOOD! They're banana pancakes with vanilla sauce and macadamia nut bits on top. I'd almost compare it to a bread pudding situation, but it's pancakes. The pancake itself is thin and maybe even a little plain which I appreciated because the vanilla sauce adds all the flavor and it was the perfect balance. The breakfast melt is delicious, especially if you're craving something savory. For drinks, I got the POG juice and it was sooo good! I loved that they gave you a large carafe of ice water too so you wouldn't have to keep asking your server for water. The staff were all very nice and our order came out in a timely manner. They have both indoor dining and an outdoor patio area to the side that's pretty big and feels isolated from the other stores nearby, it's not in front of the store so you're not exposed. Definitely stop here for breakfast if you're visiting Ontario and are staying by the airport or the mall or if you're passing through on the 15 freeway and want a great breakfast! read more

The seating and ordering style is similar to how you order at Hawaii breakfast places, but if you are not familiar with that style of ordering at the register and being assigned to a reserved table, it is quite of a culture shock. The food was pretty good. I wish the loco moco had a bit more gravy. Also, we were assigned a table with our waters out and we went to order, when we returned our drinks were gone. My sister and my dad were coming from celebrating my grandma who would have been 99. She passed away a week ago. My dad a being a disabled senior sat down at an empty table. I had to get out of line. Lost my place in line. I've never been treated like this by any establishment in my 57 years. I spoke with a woman that said she was a manager. This location has been busy since opening. I really like being able to order and pay up front so when you are done enjoying your meal you can go with no waiting. We decided to visit on a weekday around 11 and was surprised that they were busy like on the weekend. The menu has a lot of options and you. An make your meal a combo if you plane to add side of eggs and meat which is great on the pocket. I tried the Chicken bacon waffle all I can say is YUM! The waffle was light and crispy covered with katsu chicken bacon and shredded cheese then add syrup. When I say it was delicious, I mean it was D E L I C I O U S! It was the perfect blend of sweet and salty that I like. Now the ube coconut pancakes were scrumptious they remind me of the Ube crinkle cookies that I get from my favorite neighborhood bakery. They were fluffy and not heavy dense pancakes. This smothered with a coconut ube sauce that was not to sweet. There was no need for syrup. We also enjoyed sipping on a cup of POG juice (pineapple orange and guava). Next visit we want to try out from the specialty & lunch menu. read more
