Very straightforward, but really well balanced. If you've never had chicory coffee before, it has a deeper, slightly earthy flavor that stands out from a standard cold brew without being overly bitter. It feels inspired by Louisiana/New Orleans-style coffee rather than the super sugary "dessert coffee" trend that a lot of places lean into right now. What I especially appreciate is the price point. After supercharging my car near the Ontario mall I looked up a coffeeshop on Yelp and noticed there was a Nook that had a location in Rancho. I've been to the location in Costa Mesa and remembered having a positive experience there which is why I didn't hesitate to set my navigation to this location. Walking in I didn't get a single greeting even though there were 4 employees working with no customers that they had to tend to. I almost felt like I was walking into a kumbaya and I was inconveniencing the employees interactions. The interior also is so... bare... and looks like they didn't even attempt to try to make the coffeeshop seem or feel cozy and inviting. Mother's Day started off great. I stopped by Nook Coffee Bar to surprise my wife with coffee and breakfast. The line was out the door, but I knew she'd love waking up to a nice cup of coffee, so the wait didn't bother me. I ordered coffee along with three ham and cheese croissants to go. When I got home, my wife was so happy. She ate part of her croissant but didn't finish it. My son did the same and only picked at the edges. I ended up finishing mine and the rest of my son's. About 8 hours later, after grilling dinner, both my wife and I suddenly became extremely sick. Severe stomach pain, nonstop trips to the restroom, and all the signs of food poisoning hit us hard. Our guest had just started eating dinner while my wife and I were both stuck dealing with the symptoms. The symptoms carried throughout the entire night and are still lingering. Both of us have been dealing with fevers, body aches, nausea, stomach cramps, and constant trips to the restroom. It completely ruined what started as such a special Mother's Day for our family. I normally don't leave reviews like this, but I felt it was important to share our experience. I truly hope this was an isolated incident, especially on a busy holiday, but I also hope food handling and quality control are looked into so no other families have to spend Mother's Day ending like ours did. read more

So cute inside and I was so impressed with my Nook way cold brew! The best way I could describe the taste is the leftover milk of the honey graham cereal and it brought back many childhood memories for me I was OBSESSED, not too sweet. I will definitely come back for that one. read more

We were encouraged to collect points by one of their employees and recently, we were disappointed when we wanted to claim our free coffee when we were told that some of points expired. Nook Coffee Bar is easily one of my favorite matcha spots to go to. I always find myself coming back for their Island Matcha, and I've even put a lot of my friends on it at this point. It is a bit of a drive for me, but I genuinely think it's worth it every time. I think I found my go-to coffee shop in Rancho Cucamonga! I was searching for a good coffee shop or café since I also work nearby in the area. So of course, caffeine is a must, especially if you're working long hours. A big plus is that Nook Coffee Bar is located right next to a 76 gas station. I purposely fill up on gas at this 76 location just so that I can stop by Nook and get a coffee for myself! I usually order their iced latte with agave sweetener. The interior is quite small and cramped, so I'm not sure if this is a good study spot. In addition, the lines can get long to the point where customers are waiting outside of the door. I tried Nook since I was in the area and I would personally not recommend. We ordered the matcha latte 50% sweetness and hojicha latte 30% sweetness. The matcha latte had little to no matcha flavor and was overwhelmed by the milk. The hojicha latte felt grainy/gritty and not a smooth hojicha/milk blend. Next time, I would try the coffee instead. I always look forward to that very first sip of my coffee from Nook--it never disappoints! My go-to drink is always their iced Spanish latte with oat milk, and it's absolutely delicious every single time. It's a small little spot, but don't let that (or the line) fool you. Even when it looks busy, the line moves fast and you're in and out within minutes. They have a cozy little lounge area that's perfect for hanging out (even though it's not very big), and they accept Apple Pay, which is super convenient. Service was running quickly and smoothly so it didn't take long for us to place our order and get our drinks. We opted for iced drinks and a chocolate croissant: -Matcha Latte with whole milk. The matcha was ok. I wish I had known it came pre-sweetened. It was too sweet for my liking. I feel like the sweetness can overpower the matcha flavor sometimes so I like to get it unsweetened if possible. I still enjoyed my drink but next time I'd ask for it to unsweetened or go for something else. -Coastline Cold Brew. This is their cold brew with macadamia and coconut syrup, and oat milk. This was pretty tasty. It is also sweet, but that's expected from the ingredient description. Even though it was sweet, I thought it was all balanced well. I would get this again. -Chocolate Croissant. They asked if we'd like it warmed up and we said yes. When we got it, it didn't feel too warmed up to be honest. 5/7/2025 Recently opened, Nook has been quite popular here. Everytime I'm here, there's always a long line out the door! Fortunately, I got here around 12:50pm on a Wednesday and there was no line! First time there was no line when I came here. Last time I was here, I was standing outside in the sun for over 15 minutes. CAPPUCCINO This has been my favorite go-to drink. Love their frothy milk foam and their espresso is not bitter nor too strong. I add two raw sugar packets to sweeten it and it is the perfect pick-me-up drink! MATCHA TONIC Another go-to when I'm here. The matcha tastes great and as a tonic, it is a deliciously refreshing, fizzy drink with a hint of lemony flavor from the tonic water. You can't go wrong with this drink! Drinks don't take long and they're quick in making them. Never had any issues with my drinks too. I didn't order them today, but I've tried their iced Strawberry Matcha and their iced Lavender Matcha. Their Strawberry Matcha's strawberry flavor was weak and I wouldn't recommend. Their Lavender Matcha had the perfect balance of lavender and matcha. Any lavender matcha lover would enjoy this! I tried both of these drinks with regular milk. It's quite a lot of milk, btw, so be aware for anyone ordering with regular milk. And yes, there are milk alternatives (oat, almond, macadamia). There's a small pastry display case with various pastries, but they're not consistent in what they have. They mainly have butter croissants and ham & cheese croissants stocked up, but other pastries have been MIA or almost gone. Haven't tried their pastries yet though. They also sell cookies and brownies. Maybe one day I'll give it a try. CUSTOMER SERVICE Friendly service! Of all the coffee shops I've visited, they're the friendliest! I'd never thought I'd appreciate friendly service until you enter snobby coffee shops like Portola Coffee Roasters and you see that you do not have to deal with baristas like that. SEATING AREA Indoors, there's benches with small tray tables. One bar seating area for 3 people. It's small inside and it's mainly for people having their orders to go. However, when it's not crowded, it's quite comfy when seated at the bench and enjoy your hot drink. There's also two small tables outdoors. BATHROOM Had to write this because I appreciate when there's a bathroom in coffee shops. Some small coffee shops don't have one for customers, which is shocking at times, but I guess there's no one to clean them. Anyway, Nook has a single, unisex bathroom. Very clean too. PARKING This is located directly across from 76 gas station and there's other small businesses in this small strip mall. Parking is adequate. You can still find parking inside, as it doesn't get too busy during the week. Weekends are always a bit risky with parking, as people are mainly there for coffee or gas. read more

I've been to their location in Harbor Gateway (Torrance) and really enjoyed their matcha latte, but after coming to their Rancho Cucamonga location, it wasn't the same. I got the matcha latte with strawberry this time, and I think they just used flavored syrup because there were no strawberry bits inside. This part was not only pretty disappointing, but the matcha latte itself wasn't like the one I had in Torrance. First, the flavor was flat, and then I remembered that they didn't ask if I wanted sweetener (they did in Torrance). Milk wasn't as smooth, a little too frothy, and I think they oversaturated the milk with too much matcha powder because I could taste the powdery texture.
