At that price, I was expecting the drinks to taste exceptional. Unfortunately, mine was very acidic and honestly a little difficult for me to finish. I personally prefer a bolder, smoother coffee with more chocolate or rich coffee notes, so this one just wasn't for me. We both got iced coffees. They are both pretty ice heavy my wife actually finished her coffee before me. Normally when we go to coffee places, it takes a while to finish. Nothing negative to say about the staff--they were awesome and very welcoming. My rating is really just based on the price compared to what I felt I got in terms of flavor. The only thing I've had here that was truly horrible is some coffee with orange juice drink. Absolutely NOT the same as adding a drop or two of orange extract, which I do often at home. The actual OJ kills the game. In a bad way. They should come again with a better orange drink. It's not hard. Still, Goose is rocking it for me these days. The restaurant itself resembles a Moroccan courtyard in a riad. I felt I was somewhere foreign. Colorful, comfy couches with ottomans for extra seating, trays that look more like they belong in a West Elm catalogue, pastries with ingredients like kunafe. I also loved the audio real estate - they were playing what sounded like Middle Eastern music. My nose also picked up notes of cardamom and cloves - so unique! The staff was so pleasant and patient as I asked so many questions about their coffee and treats. I settled on a mufawaar coffee which tasted very different from your usual mocha latte but is just as flavorful and satisfying, as well as some meat pies. I highly recommend the chicken fatayer - it is delicately spiced with pulled apart chicken in a soft wrap that is delightfully chewy. We tried the cheese and zatar fatayer and the cheese and zatar croissant which were both pleasant (but we preferred the chicken fatayer). For dessert we got the pistachio kunafe cheesecake which looks like a Dubai chocolate in cake form. Trust me and get this. It is not too sweet and gets lovelier with every bite. My husband and I fought over the last forkful. It is a little bit pricey at $11 a slice though, but it's worth it! So if you're sick of the typical eggs and bacon breakfast, head on over to Qamaria because it is a sensory delight and a reprieve from your usual order. Surprise your palate and experiment a little. I promise you, you will fall head over heels in love with this place like we did.
