I usually dislike fried rice. Whenever I have a choice between that and regular steamed rice, I usually opt for the latter. I just much never saw the point of adding random ingredients to rice when I could have complete control over what I want as ulam. I remember when Toby and I were in Hawaii, she insisted I try some local fried rice. I ended up getting somewhat sick because whatever they put into it just didn't agree with my stomach. And it's not like I could've asked to take the offensive ingredients out because most places don't post exactly what goes into their version of the dish and if I asked to hold the sketchy stuff, it would end up being closer to steam rice anyway. But some places like Scrambler's Cafe just know how to make it right. They load it up with meat only put the bare minimum of veggie mix, and portion it out like there's a hungry man ordering it. Every bite is tremendously flavorful and filling. I love their fried rice and it's quickly become a go-to dish at Scrambler's--first at the Corona location and now at the new location. The service is great too. Everyone was nice and the refills came fast without prompting. Every restaurant should have service this competent. Also, the ambiance was great. The tables were spaced out and the noise was very respectful. It's just a chill place all around, fit for large parties and solo diners. It's a good eating place for anyone. Overall, this place is an amazing spot and I look forward to coming back here.
I stopped by this small, local brunch-style café across from Costco and near Ontario Mills. The café has a fun island vibe with Hawaiian-inspired breakfast dishes, island music playing in the background, and a cozy, country-style aesthetic. The staff was really nice, and even though the place was busy and clearly popular, my food came out surprisingly quickly. I ordered the strawberry matcha, which was probably my least favorite part of the meal. The matcha itself wasn't very strong, and I didn't get much strawberry flavor either. When I saw another strawberry matcha come out, it actually looked different from mine, so I'm not sure if that one had extra strawberry added. Mine definitely wasn't on the sweet side, so I asked if they could make it sweeter, and they added what tasted like vanilla. It was okay, but definitely not my favorite matcha. For food, I ordered the Katsu Chicken Loco Moco, and this was much better. The gravy was absolutely delicious, the eggs were cooked perfectly, and the chicken was nice and crispy. The fried rice was okay but rounded out the dish well. One thing I thought was especially thoughtful was that they brought out a carafe of water even though I was dining by myself. They also serve the utensils and napkins in a little basket, which was a cute touch and added to the overall experience. Overall, I enjoyed the atmosphere, the friendly service, and the Loco Moco. The matcha could definitely use some improvement, but I'd still give this place 4 stars and would be open to coming back to try some of their other Hawaiian-inspired breakfast dishes
This was my first time ever coming to this place in Ontario, and I didn't know they had a location in Norco. It was a Sunday when we got here, and the line was out the door. It did move pretty fast than expected and service was quick. While my husband and I were waiting, we were reviewing the menu. They had a lot of good choices that definitely sounded good for Sunday breakfast, and eventually I settled on the corned beef hash plate with potato's and fruit instead of eggs. My husband saw the chalkboard menu and chose the kalbi short ribs with fried rice and Mac salad. We also added French toast On the side to share. After placing our order, they let us know what seat number we were seated at and went outside to our table. The outdoor patio was very nice, open spaced and shaded well enough that the sun wasn't reaching us. The seats were comfortable enough and the table space was generous for a party of 4 (I know they had tables for 6 and combined tables for larger parties). When our food was brought out and we began to eat, the food had a lot of flavor. I did pick off my husband's plate and have to say everything he had was very good. I have no complaints about the taste or presentation of the food we got, and would definitely check it out again to try something else.
Been wanting to try this place and let me just tell you their customer service is TOP TIER !!! As soon as we get walked in got greeted right away. Came in on Monday morning around 11, which by all the reviews I was expecting a line, but there was only two people ahead of us. You order your food then they assign you to a table. They have so many options to choose from, to savory to sweet. I ordered the loco moco, which was okay. Personally I don't like sticky rice, the rice wasn't good to me. More on the clumpier side. But the katsu was good. The gravy was a little sweet. Overall it was good. My husband had the Hawaiian bbq steak breakfast, I loved it. It was really good. Very flavorful and filling. I honestly loved the mushrooms. Chefs kiss !!! The lava pancakes were super moist and not as sweet, which was really good. I wish they would have put more macadamia nuts for more crunch. Definitely a MUST TRY !! The Hawaiian coffee was pretty decent. Not as sweet. I wanted it to be a little stronger but it was good. They had seating inside and outdoor. Very clean and spacious. Employees kept coming around asking if everything was okay or if we needed anything. Definitely coming back
This place is amazing! It's a good size restaurant with plenty of indoor and outdoor seating. The restaurant is super cute and clean. The restaurant and food are definitely giving Hawaii vibes. This is the type of restaurant where you order and pay before they seat you. It took a while to order, but once we were seated our food came out right away. You will more than likely wait in line, but it's worth the wait. They have a lot of staff members that continually check on you at your table. The food is delicious! We both had the loco moco, one with fried rice and one with steamed rice. The fried rice is top tier! We both ordered a side of spam and the Portuguese sausage. Every single thing on our plates was finger licking good, but my favorite thing was my Ube iced coffee. It was delicious and not too sweet which is a huge plus for me. The only downside is that now I want to plan a trip to Hawaii. Lol I highly recommend you go eat at Scramblers Cafe.
Came on a Sunday around 9 am didnt have any wait which was good . Me and my husband ordered the loco moco and the pork Benedict . Both were excellent . They have seating inside and outside and it's nicely decorated. Definitely want to come back to try more
We were really excited to try this place. The selection on their menu was crazy. The inside was adorable and their outdoor seating was covered and shady enough to sit outside even in crazy heat. Our order arrived super quick and looked amazing. For the price per plate there's a good amount of food, though I felt the flavors were a bit underwhelming when spending as much on brunch as you can. The coffees were good, definitely sweet and dessert type of coffee so be sure to ask for modification if that's not your taste. There's a limited parking area right out front but plenty in the area with the mall right there. I would definitely go back to try more of their options.
For starters this place is not really a restaurant. They do have seating inside and out. You order when you walk in and once order is placed they will direct you where to sit at. I will say they do bring a pitcher of water to the table which is nice ! So I ordered the loco moco with fried rice and the gravy was amazing. I wouldn't say the patty was my favorite not as tender as I like it so next time might opt out for the Portuguese sausage. Next we have the melt which my partner enjoyed and said the flavor was their favorite part was the breakfast potatoes that came on the side. Lastly the ube coffee so I might be a lil basis because I'm not really a fan of coffee. It was good ummm wasn't sure what to expect but my partner enjoyed so do what you will with that. Overall I will be back to try something different
Oh loco moco with fried rice and hamburger, my beloved. I have been a diner since the Norco opening days in 2015 and I have to say that this is a good old bite of nostalgia. The service was very friendly, very efficient, and the ambiance was a bright and more fresh rendition of the norco location. The food was as good as I remembered and I will definitely recommend scramblers for any breakfast or brunch or lunch or dinner meals because I am loco moco with fried rice and hamburger's number 1 fan
The food was the highlight of our visit. We ordered the loco moco with hamburger and fried rice, as well as the Portuguese sausage with regular rice, and both dishes were delicious and full of flavor. Portions were generous and everything came out fresh. Service was good and the atmosphere was enjoyable overall. The only downside was that the iced coffee became a bit watery as the ice melted, and the floors and bathroom could have used more attention, as they were noticeably dirty during our visit. This place has the potential to be a 5-star experience with a little more focus on cleanliness and some improvement to the coffee. We would definitely come back for the food!
Great Hawaiian inspired brunch spot with a casual ambiance. You order at the register and then they find a table for you. There is no waitlist or reservations so the line can get pretty long on the weekend. Their macadamia nut French toast and loco moco are pretty popular. I also enjoy their fresh squeezed orange juice. I'd pass on the pancakes.. they were a little undercooked and not that great in my opinion.
LOVE the Norco location and thought it would be the same here, but I was disappointed. This place is busier, crowded, and the food wasn't as good despite the menu being the same. You order at the register, pay and are directed to a table (inside or outside, whichever you prefer). Luckily we ordered and were seated before the line got long & out the door. Employees were friendly but service was lacking as they simply drop off your order at your table and no longer check up on you. Our food arrived after a short wait. The only dish that we received hot/warm was the pancakes. My loco moco seemed as if it was sitting for a while, was barely room temp and the gravy seemed to solidify to an almost thick jelly consistency :( On the plus side, the Hawaiian iced coffee was delicious.
I've seen this cafe being advertised to me on Yelp for quite some time, so I decided I needed to make a visit! Parking is difficult, especially on the weekends. We couldn't seem to find a parking spot and ended up parking on the street. This wasn't a full service type of restaurant. You order your food with the cashier after she finds a table for you. You pay and then situate yourself at the table. Your food and drink will be delivered to you, and that's that. Not saying that we minded, but I wanted to give other Yelpers a fair warning that you can't exactly put your name down on a waitlist. After looking at the menu, we decided to order their Loco Moco with Portuguese Sausages and try their ube waffle. We also decided to try their P.O.G. juice which comprised of pineapples, oranges, and guava juice. It didn't take long for our food to come out. Their Loco Moco was delicious and quite filling; my fiancé and I had to share. Their ube waffle was a bit overwhelming only because I'm not a crazy sweet tooth. There are pools of ube on the Belgian waffle, with coconut syrup and strawberry slices. I did really like their juice because it had a great combination of fruits. As we eat, we are enjoying the sunlight out in the patio. We are also listening to Hawaiian music being played in the background. Very aesthetic. I can see myself coming here frequently, especially when I have a craving. Great food and quick service!

Hands down, the best breakfast I've had in awhile. We ordered the Ube pancakes, Banana crepes with strawberries, Triple 2, Loco Moco and Cowboy Chilaquiles. The steak on the Chilaquiles was soooo tasty. The only thing my husband regretted was getting the sausage versus the hamburger patty on the Loco Moco. We also had the Dulce the Leche iced coffee. Service was great and quick. I live that they assign your table. We will definitely come back. Kids loved it. read more

It's like walking in and being transported to a Waikiki restaurant. The vibe is awesomely island. Juices are fresh and food was so good. The island chilaquiles were really good and the traditional Loco Moco did not disappoint. Just perfect. We sat outside and it was very a welcoming experience. The people here are always friendly and customer service oriented. The food is perfectly cooked, every time. Plus they play Hawaiian music and serve Loco Moco along with other amazing dishes like my grandson's favorite breakfast burrito and my other grandson's favorite fruity pebbles French toast. Ok I'm gonna keep it straight up. This cafe will definitely hit your tastebuds like Jason Momoa and make you sing like Bruno Mars! Ok maybe that's a little too much but I can bet it will really satisfy. They have combined Hawaiian inspired dishes with an American twist to it. We ordered the Kalua Pork Benedict and their Norco Fried Rice with two over easy eggs slapped on top. I must say the Benedict was Hella delicious and with some of that Norco fried rice to go along with it was a Mouthgasm. Mmm mmm! I just love me some flavorful breakfast plates! I know for a fact I'll definitely be back! The service was good with limited parking available depending on what days you come. We've tried many other places after coming here on our first day and we're still talking about how good this place was and how we NEED one up in Sacramento PLEEEEAASE!! Amazing food! Had the Biscoff iced coffee, Ube waffle, and my fiancée had the loco moco and iced Vietnamese coffee. Everything was delicious, the service was great. It is a walk up and order place, but they seat you, which was a nice change to places like this. We got a pitcher of ice water and our silverware when we were seated. Had an appointment nearby super early in the morning and found this little Hawaiian breakfast gem. Looks like the establishment is fairly new and they opened not too long ago. Staff were very nice and polite. They check up on you often but at appropriate times. The vibe you get is very festive and you kind of want to move your body with the beat of the Hawaiian music they have. Food was delicious and of for me, if they have loco moco, that will always be my go to. They also have the traditional items like pancakes, scrambled egg, sausage, potato combos. Definitely a good breakfast spot to try if you're in the area. read more

Been going to the Norco location with my family for years so was so excited to hear they opened an Ontario location. Have been twice and love this location a lot more! Updated seating and more space. Be mindful that the parking here is bad as there's so many establishments around that are also busy in the mornings, the second time I came I had to park in the back. Just like the other location, you order food at the counter and then the staff will give you a table number to seat so you don't have to worry about saving a space. Food is just as excellent if not better and love the promptness of all the staff. Highly recommend the Norco Fried Rice & Portugese Sausage, as well as the Island Chilaquiles! Will be the new brunch spot forsure. read more

First time trying Scrambler Café and it did not disappoint! I ordered the BBQ Breakfast Special and my wife had the Cinnamon Roll French Toast, both were really good. The menu is huge and honestly a little overwhelming because everything sounds amazing. I'm not sure if I made the right first pick since there were so many tempting options, but that just gives me a reason to come back and try more! Food was great overall, service was friendly, and the vibe was super chill. Definitely worth checking out if you love breakfast done right! read more

Loved this new Hawaiian style breakfast spot that just arrived in place of the old Rubio's near Ontario Mills! They have a nice sized selection of breakfast, burgers and specialty plates. I had the chilaquiles topped with kalua pork. It's a generous portion and comes with a scoop of rice and refried beans. Also ordered the spam plate (can't remember specifically of what it was called), but it came with diced spam, rice, Teri sauce and two eggs. Very tasty! Can't wait to come back to try some of the ube pancakes or spicy chicken and waffles. There are many drink options too- matcha and teas. Service was excellent- a plus is that the restaurant asks that you place your order first and they assign a table (that is numbered) to your order and seat you. The servers brought a pitcher of water for the table as well. Manager Lily is very nice and came to check on the tables as well as helped with serving. It's nice to see when managers get in on the action! Highly recommended! I never knew that there was a location in Norco as well, and sister restaurants in the beach area under a different name. The only thing I'd say is that the Scramblers Cafe name doesn't do the Hawaiian theme justice. Forgot to add the most important part- prices... they are very reasonable! Was a bit worried at first because there was a line outside the door. But once it started moving, we got to the order quickly and then sat down. Vibes are nice, very family friendly. The food... wow. So good, that since we had been there, it was non stop people coming and going, and no one really had to wait for a table. It was all quick. Excellent food. read more

always up for a new local place, you order from the overhead menu then you're assigned a seat ( if dining in ) the meal then delivered to your table. Island music playing. I feel like the tip should not be paid at the end of the order, but offered either to the jar on the counter or left on the table depending on the overall service and experience. They opened promptly at 7:30am. Ordered right away & got our food within minutes. If you're looking for real breakfast this is definitely a great place & the staff of super friendly. They have booths, chairs and also outdoor tables. I will definitely be coming back. Our food was really good & I love when they have all the creamer options. Half & Half, vanilla and hazelnut. We went here for breakfast, I got the cowboy chilaquiles style and was delicious, my husband got huevos rancheros good, my daughter got carne asada omelette and the ube pancakes, I really enjoyed everything I will definitely recommend it and will come back here . And service 10 out of 10 read more
