Very first time at this place. The much advertised "ube pancakes" was the reason I wanted to come here. It did not disappoint! Also had the ube iced coffee. Also good! I ordered a side of corned beef hash & out of everything we ordered this was the only disappointment. Tasted like it was straight out of a can. So definitely not getting that next time. My husband had their breakfast burrito & bananas & Nutella crepes which he said was good. My son got their breakfast melt and loved it while my daughter got their waffles. I thought it was smart that they give you a menu to peruse through while you stand in line. You order your food at the counter, pay and they bring it out to your assigned table. The line was quick and so was the service. This service model is effective. The usual wait time to get seated, take your order and then pay afterwards gets eliminated thus less wasted time in between service & customers. They also have indoor as well as outdoor seating. Seemed clean and tidy in both spaces. The environment was pretty busy in there but the employees worked fast and kept the place going. The staff is friendly & accommodating. While the service was excellent, the food was quite bland. I ordered the loco moco, and the seasoning was lacking. The patty was dry. My husband ordered the island chilaquiles, and the same issue occurred. It is possible that the restaurant was too busy, especially since someone passed out and injured another patron. read more

Fast service and tasty food. You order and then sit down. Food is at your table in less than 10 minutes. The Pineapple, Orange, and Guava (POG) juice is a must. The white lava cakes were moist and scrumptious. The teriyaki chicken was cooked on a grill and moist with the teriyaki just right with a slightly crusty glaze. The macaroni salad was a compliment to the teriyaki chicken in just the right way. Definitely going back. read more

The food was incredible! And reasonably priced! I had the cowboy chilaquiles and I HIGHLY recommend this plate. The service was great, friendly staff. Just not a fan of walk up to order and then sit. Place is a bit small for the business it gets but I would definitely come back just for the plate I had and some pancakes! OH! And the juice is FRESHLY SQUEEZED! The biggest issue was the service. We sat down after ordering, the line got long so we even mentioned "oh we got in right in time" 30 minutes goes by and 5 parties that ordered after us received their food. We asked, what we assumed was the manager, if there was an issue with our food, she went to check and immediately walked out with our food. The food had visibly been sitting in the window under the heat lamp, my husband even asked if it was just sitting there as it did not look fresh. I ordered loco moco with chicken katsu and scrambled eggs. The eggs on the plate we received were over easy yet the yolk had a film over it from sitting under the heat lamps for an extended period of time. We let the manager know if we could get scrambled eggs, she then instead offered to remake the whole plate. Wonderful, we accepted. Except they just added eggs instead, as I was eating there was runny yolk on the rice which I assume came from them removing the over easy eggs. So not only were we served food that sat under the heat lamps for an extensive amount of time they also offered to remake it and still served us the same plate. The woman that helped us with the issue was very sweet and I don't blame her for the initial error and timing, but if YOU offer to remake a meal based on the kitchens error it should actually be remade, or re plated at the VERY least, it wasn't even re-plated. read more

The service was disappointing. We awaited almost an hour for our food, but it still didn't arrive. My husband said three other tables received their orders before us. When we followed up with the server, we were told that our order had been forgotten. So my husband decided to cancel our order and he went to cashier for refund instead. This is such a cute place! It looks small from the outside but it's definitely more spacious than it looks with indoor and outdoor seating. The food came super quickly and it was all so tasty. I couldn't decide on which pancakes to choose so I ordered the lemon, the ube and the lava ones....OMG! They were all great but the ube with coconut sauce...... I finally got to this cute cafe off a side strip mall in Ontario Mills Mall. Even at 9:00a the line was long. You order at their counter and the quickly deliver to your table. My Ube ice coffee was already at my table before I even sat down. Our food arrived a short time later. We got the Kahlua Pork Omlette and the Famous Ube coconut pancakes. My friend hates coconut, but ate areas that had no coconut and said they were absolutely delicious and she will order again minus the coconut shavings on top. I loved them. The coconut syrup in a little side cup, takes them to a whole new level. Don't skip these! The omelette was actually the best omelette I have ever eaten. Almost Every table was full, the are crazy busy and the service was fast, getting a side of salsa was more difficult. I had to ask twice. Not too sure what the hype is here. The food was not tastey and neither my wife or I finished it. Its not that it was bad but it just wasnt good. At the register, the cashier took the order just fine but once I paid, nothing was said and she just left. I stood there for a few minutes while other customer were standing in line and I eventually asked if the cashier was coming back to me and was told no. Then I finally got a seat number. Disappointed. Not authentic Hawaiian breakfast. Hawaii Cosplay. Pouring white goop over pancakes and sprinkling it with questionable crushed macadamia nuts does not make it Hawaiian. There are no flavors of the islands like pineapple, guava, lilikoi or coconut. Not to mention the anemic loco moco and the sour "California style Mac salad".
