Before the pandemic, this was one of my favorite local restaurants, we have been visiting this establishment for the last 15 years. The menu was much larger, the specialty drinks were fun and creative, and it felt like a place you'd actually look forward to visiting. Unfortunately, the experience isn't what it used to be. The menu has been significantly reduced, and some items are only available during the week. My biggest concern, however, is the condition of the restrooms. They have a very strong odor that can be smelled well outside the restroom area, even while standing near the front register. On warmer days it's even more noticeable, since they don't run AC in the restroom . It's difficult to enjoy a meal when such a prominent part of the restaurant creates that impression. Had a cute brunch date with my boyfriend here. We both love Kickback Jack's so much and have been here a handful of times! Today we had the Rock N Cheese Western Burger with the fries and the Belgian Waffle with Chilled Strawberries and the Sausage and Scrambled Eggs. The burger was so good but would def ask for the cheese on the side next time to pour it with each bite. The Belgian Waffle was also delicious! Thats what I had and I loved it. The waffle was soft and the cream on top was sweet and yummy. Both meals were very filling and the Orange Juice was refreshing and perfect. Haven't eaten here in a few years. First off, our waitress was absolutely amazing and sweet. She accidentally sat us in a reserved area for a large group and needed to move us. Because of the move, she gave us a free corn bread even though we told her it wasn't necessary, it was a simple request. The restaurant itself is like any diner setting and spacious. Today I tried the Bayou Sausage Skillet. It was good but not amazing. I'm glad I got the Santa Fe sauce on the side because I didn't like it, but that's just preference. The home fried potatoes were cooked perfectly but lacked seasoning (and this is coming from someone who complains food is salty). I would get the skillet again for sure but the only other downside is, it says roasted corn but it's canned corn and wasn't really roasted. But over all still a good breakfast. read more

My family and I were promptly greeted and seated up in entering. There is this old smell to the restaurant, but it disappeared once we were sitting at a booth. Our server was very attentive. Unfortunately, I did not get her name, but she was a blonde woman there on a Wednesday around 11AM. She made sure our waters were refilled, and was very welcoming. Now, the food prices are HIGH. I was shocked at how expensive the food was; however, I did not knock a star off of the rating because I guess everything in general has gone up in price due to inflation. I ordered from their daily special menu, so I definitely saved money ordering from there. My sister ordered from their regular menu and the portion size was huge. Bacon was nice and crispy, eggs cooked just right, and the coffee hit the spot. It was pretty crowded since it was a Sunday morning, so we waited about 25 minutes, which honestly isn't bad at all for that time of day. Perfect breakfast spot to enjoy the basics with your family. We had the family meal that included French toast, bacon, sausage, eggs, hash browns and biscuits. I have been eating at Kickback Jacks for over 25 years, since it was BC Cafe. The one thing that keeps me coming back, along with their generous portions and delicious food, is their Cocky Leeky Soup. It's so simple, cream, chicken, rice and leeks, but the comfort it provides is incredible! I have since moved away, but every time I get the chance, I stop by just for the soup and a bag of oyster crackers. I just had the opportunity this past week. I came in with low expectations because from the outside it looked like your typical breakfast diner. Can't believe I've never reviewed our favorite breakfast house. My parents come here so often that the servers know their orders, they come and sit down and chat with them and give hugs, the whole nine yards. Anyway, everyone is so nice, from the busboy to the owner, you'll feel at home here. Ask for Alma or Marian as your waitress/server and they will give you exceptional service. On to the food: this particular day I ordered the Spinach Omelette with a banana pancake and added fresh berries for an additional charge. Ordered a side of turkey sausage also. The spinach omelette I ordered had added garlic and I also added cream cheese inside. Now if you've been coming here for years, you'll remember the days before C19 when the Vegetable omelette came with cream cheese inside. It was my favorite thing about their omelette because I had never seen it at any other restaurant. It set them apart. Well, I guess some guests started to complain about not liking the cream cheese inside so they stopped adding it. Fortunately for me, I can still request them to add it to MY omelette. Try it, you may like it. Pancakes were off the chain as usual. Fluffy, warm, crisp edges, melted butter....drool. Add the berries, you won't regret it. We also tried their new Mimosas. Strong!!! Idk what champagne they used, but it had us LIT from one sip (exaggeration)! LOL They also have a Mimosa Flight that is not on the menu but they will make it for you. It comes with Orange, Mango, Peach, and Strawberry. They were truly all delicious. They are still working on getting the purées perfected, but still come on in and support the new drinks. I really wanted to like this restaurant but too many things went wrong during our family's visit. Service - I was pleasantly greeted by the host upfront and was told it would take about 15 minutes to get a table. It was nice having a dedicated wait area inside and ample seating outside the door. Upon being seated we waited quite a while to have our drink orders taken. Then several more minutes to get our coffees, and then even longer to get creamer. Our food took really long too, the party behind us got their ordered before we did. I am thankful that they at least got my kids' plates out before our food because they were hangry. I tried to be understanding of our server and the kitchen but something was just off because she wasn't attentive to us. Food - For the amount of time we waited for our food I'd expected us to be so hungry that we would just devour the food. Unfortunately, the chicken fried steak and my chilaquiles were really under seasoned. I never add salt to my dishes and even my husband was surprised that I asked for the salt. And I had to add even more. Ok maybe they're just used to catering to seniors who prefer less seasoned food? Maybe? I was also disappointed that my plate came with scrambled eggs because chilaquiles is best with an over easy egg. She didn't even ask how I wanted my eggs. Maybe there is something in the water in Rancho Cucamonga that locals rave about this place. But this place is average at best and ranks amongst Denny's and Norms. It's nothing special here. They limit their menu to specific ingredients. Cup of coffee cost about close to $5 after tax. The plates run average $20. You can't substitute your bread for another side and pay the difference. If you want to you have to pay full price. A side of fruit we paid $6.99. Out the door me and my spouse paid $60.00! Insanity, yes, especially since their food is not flavored.
