Came here for lunch on a weekend. Food was great. The service was severely lacking. I get that it was busy, but our waitress was horrible. She took so long to take our drink order after we sat down, that we were ready to order our food when she came around. After she took our drink and food order, we waited 15 mins, and still no drinks. I actually had to ask another waitress for water. When our waitress came by we reminded her about not getting our drinks yet and she copped an attitude and was like "we were busy, yeah I asked someone else to bring the water". Ok. No need to be rude. Thankfully the food was good, so at least that was enjoyable. Our waitress never came by once to check up on us, as we watched other waitresses be more attentive at other tables. Honestly I've had better service at McDonald's. That's embarrassing for a restaurant like The Cut where food prices are not cheap. The edamame was hot and steamed to perfect. The sauce it was in and garlic crumbles on top was sooo good! The whipped burrata had an explosion of flavors. Creamy cheese, crunchy pistachios, sweet peaches, a drizzle of honey and bitter flash fried arugula on top. I'm a sucker for different textures so this hit the spot! A lil balsamic vinegar would've taken it next level tho. For the entrees, our table had: Caesar salad with chicken: romaine was super fresh and crispy, chicken was hot and grilled. I just had lunch with a girlfriend here today. I was so sad to see that they changed their taco Tuesday. Which used to be 3 soft tacos with option or steak or fish(salmon) and coleslaw on top. I would pick 2 fish and 1 steak. It was so amazing that I would tell all my friends. The tacos are not on the menu and I ordered that today just to find out it has changed and looks kind of basic with tortilla and steak, topped with guacamole and little bit of pickled onion. They don't give you an option anymore. Served with a side of salsa. It just looked sad and was way better before. Hope you guys bring it back. Although I'd really like to give this place 5 stars because I genuinely love the food, I can't overlook my most recent experience. On a previous visit, I was served by Dave (or David), and he was fantastic, which made this visit even more disappointing. My girlfriend and I came in on a Monday and were seated by a very kind gentleman who brought us water right away. After that, however, we were completely ignored. I could see our server was busy and running around, and I understand how hectic the service industry can be because I'm a server myself. But a simple, "Hi, I'll be with you in just a moment," would have gone a long way. After about 15 minutes, she finally came over, and I asked if we could move tables. She moved us inside, but then disappeared again. By the time my friend arrived and got settled, we were still waiting with nothing but water. No drink order, no appetizer order, no acknowledgment. We ended up leaving around 7:55 without ever being served. As someone who works in this industry, I know busy shifts happen. But I've never let guests feel as invisible as we did that night. I don't know if it was because we looked younger or if it was just an off night, but almost 30 minutes without any service beyond water was incredibly disappointing. read more

This was my second time at The Cut, but the first it was only for cocktails. This time around I got an entree salad and a side of sweet potato fries. The salad was the house salad with added steak. It was super delicious with candied walnuts, feta cheese, and champagne vinaigrette. My friend got their Caesar salad and she is still raving about it. Their Cali Water cocktail was also enjoyed, as well as a lemon drop and a margarita. The vibes are chill and the staff was very helpful and attentive. Their menu is varied enough to where you can find something to enjoy and I like that they take classic dishes like a Reuben sandwich or a burger and elevate it. I came with a group of girlfriends before we headed into the movie theater and I think this is a great restaurant to enjoy something like that or a date night. I visited The Cut at Victoria Gardens recently, and while I understand it's primarily a gourmet burger restaurant, the experience as a vegetarian was honestly disappointing. The service itself was great; our server was very sweet and apologized that they didn't have more options for us, offering a pasta dish and the mac and cheese.However, the restaurant's decision to fry virtually every vegetarian-friendly side in beef tallow made me feel extremely limited and unwelcome. No fries, tater tots, sweet potato fries, Brussels sprouts, or even the mozzarella sticks are actually vegetarian-safe because they're all cooked in beef fat--which is just wild for things like cheese sticks and veggies. Yes, they offer Impossible patties, but most people expect to pair a burger with potato sides, and that simply wasn't possible here. Your only real options are pasta, mac and cheese, or salads. I completely respect restaurants having their own cooking style, but it would've been nice to have at least a few genuinely vegetarian-friendly comfort sides available. Unfortunately, because of that, I wouldn't return and wouldn't recommend The Cut to vegetarians. read more

Super flavorful and filling, so good that you could prob eat it without adding the chicken as it comes with bacon, but that extra protein was the cherry on top. We went here for the first time yesterday to celebrate my husband's birthday. Cute place. Super modern. Good size but not huge by any means. It was very clean and welcoming. We had a very attentive and kind server named Victor. He took great care of me and my family. He was very knowledgeable about the menu and made some great suggestions. We ordered the fried mozzarella, bone marrow and bread and butter for appetizers. The fried mozzarella and the bone marrow were exceptional. However I was very disappointed with the bread and butter. On the menu it states that it is focaccia. It's definitely NOT focaccia and it had a very sweet flavor to it. It only came with 2 little "triangles" of bread and at a price tag of $14 I was pretty disappointed. For dinner we ordered the crispy pork belly with mushroom risotto, the steak frites, the brussel sprouts, beet salad, the French dip with tater tots and the truffle Mac and cheese. The main entrees were PHENOMENAL, especially the steaks. The chef cooking the meats knows what he's doing. He cooked both my husbands steak a perfect medium rare and my daughters steak to a perfected blue rare. This chef cooked these steaks better than most steaks I've had at other fine dining restaurants such as Mastro's, Capital Grill and Ocean 48 to name a few. Clearly, I was very impressed! All of the food in general was excellent and we were very pleasantly surprised during our first visit here. For dessert, Victor brought my husband a small birthday butter cake with ice cream to celebrate and we also ordered a chocolate cake. Holy moly the chocolate cake was good. The accompanying hazelnut gelato with the cake, not so much. It had very little flavor and basically tasted like frozen ice milk. The chocolate cake had this delicious chocolate mousse on top that is chefs kiss. The butter cake was not very good but restaurants in general, in my opinion, have big shoes to fill when they offer butter cakes. I have yet to find a restaurant that comes close to the butter cake at Mastro's. I hadn't found any restaurant yet to beat it. All in all, we had a great experience at The Cut. I had the "Gotta Keep Ya Gin Up" cocktail -- super refreshing and would definitely get it again. We shared the calamari, which was good but slightly over-fried. The conversation was good and the food looked so tasty, I almost forgot to take photos. It was the weekend so they only had the brunch menu. I was a little disappointed because I checked the menu ahead of time, and had my order made up, but the food did not disappoint. I had the steak flatbread it was delicious and enough to take home. Our server Christine was excellent, she was very attentive and observant. She kept the water flowing, and saw that I liked ice and brought me a whole cup. She was friendly and welcoming. I enjoy the presentation and the simple restaurant at Victoria Gardens. The first time I came was on a busy Friday night and I had made reservations in advance . The restaurant itself has a seating area and a really nice bar area as well. I really really enjoy the burgers here on the regular and the quality is good however, when I ordered the happy hour burger, I was disappointed because it did not taste like the burgers on the regular menu because it was dry and lacked flavor. They do not include any LTO on their happy hour burger either and zero sauce. If you ask for any extra sauce of anything, there is a up charge. Also to note the happy hour prices are not very good on drinks or food either. I love that they use beef tallow for their sides when they fry them because they come out really light and crispy, especially the tater tot, which are just fabulous. The Caesar salad was also really fresh and huge. The thing I enjoyed the most was the chimichurri poutine fries just because they are so unique and tasty if you love that chimichurri flavor with crispy fries. There were no other staff members behind us at the time, which is why it felt clearly directed at us. From our perspective, it was not a misunderstanding of where the gesture was intended. What was most disappointing, however, was not the initial interaction, but your response. Rather than taking ownership of how it came across, the explanation shifted focus to intent. While intent matters internally, impact is what guests experience. A simple acknowledgment that the interaction was mishandled would have gone much further. Unfortunately, the lack of accountability in the response reinforces our decision not to return. Table ordered two 35 DAY DRY AGED RIBEYE $45 * Beef Demi Glaze, Loaded Baked Potato. The ribeyes were 1 star dishes drenched in sauce that eliminated the fact they were "Dry Aged" as well very thin. It was something I feel like we'd order from NORMS or TGIF. Worst dish of the evening. And the baked potato was basic hard to mess that up. The table also order the filet mignon and that cut of beef was cooked and seasoned perfectly. The side to that dish Mashed Potatoes, were extremely salty and not even edible at the table (disappointed) 3rd main dish was CHILEAN SEA BASS, which was also very good dish and cooked and seasoned well. The 4th Dish was TONNARELLI BOLOGNESE, another dish that was liked at the table. We've had some superb dishes at this restaurant in the past, the ribeyes and the sides just completely missed the mark. As well we had a French trained chef from Los Angels, kitchen manger and prior Gm in the restaurant industry with us on this night, who's been in the hospitality industry for 25+ years opening restaurants, running them all over LA.
