    Chili and plastic spoon
    Lalo R.

After waiting several months for this spot to work out the kinks from their grand opening I decided to stop by. I walked in and sat at open bar spot and noticed at least 4 tables that needed to be bussed and trash on floor. Could have been a party that just left so no big deal. After a couple minutes bartender stopped by I got me it and ordered a drink. Couple seated next to me asked for recommendations, I was like it's my first time also. Ordered the fried corn riblets, they tasted good just needed more of the sauce that was drizzled on top. The cocktail was okay nothing great , so switched to beer instead. Also ordered the Chili , after talking with the couple next to me that their BBQ experience was kind of lackluster. It was later in the evening so maybe their BBQ was running low so you can't go wrong with Chili. While the chili was good I think the experience of being given a plastic to go utensil package was very odd. I mean I would expect this of a backyard BBQ spot but a sit down spot it seems very odd. I wanted to order cornbread as it does not come with chili but did not see it in the menu. I did ask for a side and the bartender brought me some and didn't charge me so I made sure to tip him extra for that. Wasn't a fan of the cornbread was more cake like, but to each their own on their style of cornbread. Now the interesting part is that I have not seen a busser from the time I arrived till the time I left which was about 70 minutes. Now the 4 tables that had food and plates when I arrived was now over 10. This was throughout the restaurant, now I do acknowledge 3 small groups left a few minutes before I did so that's 3 tables. But the same 4 tables that were dirty when I arrived had still not been bussed or cleaned off. After I paid the bill I saw the guy who was taking my order and making drinks start clearing tables. Not sure if they short staffed but did see quite a few waiters walking around. It was kind of busy for late night but still have to clean takes, even the bar tops were dirty. Now if the front of house is dirty I can only imagine the back of house.. Sad to say I tried to give this place a chance but was it's a no go for future stops. I do hope it does better as it does smell good outside but for now it's off my list. To each their own and to those that have had good experiences , you are Lucky as I was not.

Wanted to like this place but unfortunately it wasn't good :/ The Asada had a gamy taste to it, the corn bread was solid hard. I'm not even joking, the brisket was lacking flavor and was extremely dry . Nothing wowed us . I didn't finish anything and haven't left overs away . The set up is cute , I'm sure this place is a cool place to come and have drinks .

Looking for your next happy hour spot? Look no further. The $5 margaritas and $3 beers definitely hit the spot! Usually when places advertise cheap margaritas, they tend to be pretty bad, mostly sour mix that leaves you with a headache, feeling nauseous, and somehow still sober. Thankfully, that was not the case here. The drinks were actually really good and well made. The service was also great. Our bartender, Erin, was super welcoming, funny, and made excellent drinks. She had us laughing the whole time and really made the experience even better. I didn't end up ordering food, but a few of my friends did and everything that came out looked fire. The restaurant is just as cool in person as it looks on social media, and it's a really chill spot to grab a drink and unwind at the end of the day. I'd 100% come back for happy hour again!

First Time Here... When you are outside you get the barbecue vibe as the name says it.. You get the barbecue vibe.. Then you walk inside and are confused by how the place is decorated.. It's dark with felt wallpaper and decorated with items that do not give off a barbecue vibe.. I struggle with this review as the food was ok..We ordered our meals and they bring them out on these small medical supply trays.. It made the food look like appetizers..Small portions... I will tell you the flavor of the meat was ok, just not a lot of food for the money..The Brisket had good flavor was was dry. The tri tip was tasty, but four small strips? The mac and cheese was more sauce then pasta, but was the best part of the meal.. The server wasn't very attentive as we had to constantly ask for drink refills after putting glasses on the edge of the table.. This place sounds like it would be a really good place from the name, but struggles once you are in the door.. For Three People.. Two Sodas and Ice Tea..Dinner was $86 dollars...

Visited for the first time today for my birthday. The first thing you notice when you enter is the timeless vibe of the place. We arrived just before their dinner rush so thankfully we were seated pretty fast (line was out the door by the time we left) We ordered the "not so secret, secret menu" and the meats were full of smokey bbq flavor. For as much meat as you get the sides did seem a little small but they were good. I'm a brisket girl so i do have to say that although the flavor was on point, the brisket was a little on the dry side. Other than that everything tasted delicious! our waitress did seem very busy (dinner rush hit and she looked like she was working tables and the bar area at one point if i'm not mistaken) she came to check on our table, 2 of our girls asked for refills and she never brought them. She just seemed really busy (maybe they were short staffed tonight‍) we understand that it happens and it's nothing to get overly bothered about. I am glad we tried a new spot this evening. we plan to visit again!

This is our first visit to this establishment the beef ribs were on point the meat fell off the bone. We also ordered the wings which were okay. All in all, everything was good. The customer service was excellent. The interior is spacious with many booths and tables they also have outdoor dining. There's a full bar and many big screen TVs to enjoy your favorite sport.

First time here this last weekend and really enjoyed our dinner. Watermelon margaritas were great, the brisket with a side of mashed potatoes and also Mac and cheese was good and flavorful, our son enjoyed the kids Mac and cheese with fries, ordered thai chili and buffalo wings which were good, liked the Thai chili better than buffalo. Server was great. Would love to come back and try different menu options

I think this place makes a great date night . They recommended watermelon margarita but it was too strong . I preferred the peach margarita. 1) Carne asada was good with green sauce 2) pork ribs would be better option because they would be more tender 3) brisket was good 4) pulled meat (not sure what it's called) taste the same anywhere I go because it's high fatty 5) cornbread really good 6) Mac n cheese was sweet which is a southern style I'm not a fan of 7) cheesy mash potato was really good 8) Brussels sprouts said fried but they appeared baked with bbq sauce which is different but nice 9) waitress Brittany was very kind and attentive The spices used for fries were excellent , almost like tajin . I recommend trying this place out , with a few recommendations added to menu !

    Tri tip

Went in skeptical after reading the reviews -- a lot of the positive ones felt fake or bot-generated. From the outside, the restaurant promotes itself as barbecue, but once inside there's nothing that really gives off that barbecue vibe. The ambiance felt off and lacked any real identity. We sat at the bar on a Monday night and it wasn't very busy, yet it still took about 10 minutes before we were greeted. We ordered non-alcoholic drinks, which came out fine, but another guest at the bar mentioned to the bartender that his drink wasn't good -- not the most reassuring thing to overhear. As for the food, it was mediocre at best. I ordered the Oak Burger, and my father got the 1/2 lb Greater Omaha tri-tip. The tri-tip was tough, not tender at all, and overall not very appetizing. My burger, aside from being incredibly overpriced, simply wasn't worth the money. Honestly -- and I can't believe I'm saying this -- you could get a burger nearly as good at Carl's Jr. To be fair, the bartender was clearly doing his best while juggling multiple tables and the bar top by himself, but he's not Superman. Because of that, guests -- including us -- waited quite a while for refills and checks. Overall, a 2/5, and that's being generous. There's a Famous Dave's up the street that's better in pretty much every way.

    Tri tip sandwich with fries.

Had the Tri tip sandwich and the meat was substantial well cooked and flavorfull. The fries were sub par. Best let down was my drink Watermelon sugar had no taste of watermelon juice I knew it would be strong cause it said juice but I expect some. Servers did not seem overwhelmed but they definitely needed more staff. Overall will be returning to have the food.

The ambiance really stood out right away. I loved the layout and the interior decor. It was very stylish with strong Roaring 20s vibes and felt warm and intentional, like a place you actually want to sit and enjoy your time instead of rushing through a meal. The food absolutely delivered. The brisket was the star of the table. It was tender, juicy, and packed with smoky flavor with a perfect bark on the outside. You can tell it's done right. The sides didn't feel like an afterthought either. The fries were crispy, the Brussels sprouts were rich and flavorful, and everything paired well together. I'm not usually a big BBQ person, but this is one of those places I would actually go back to for more. The drinks were on point too, with refreshing, well-balanced cocktails that made it easy to relax and enjoy the atmosphere. Service was friendly and attentive without being overbearing, which really rounded out the experience. Overall, Oak & Ember hits that sweet spot with great food, great drinks, and a really nice vibe. Definitely a place I would recommend and return to.

My experience at Oak & Ember was just okay. We tried a few things... to start we had the loaded corn dip and smoked burnt end fundido. I think we expected the corn to be more like elote, but it was similar to a creamed corn. For our mains we had the smoked brisket tacos and brisket birria tacos. Unfortunately, my tacos were super greasy and made the tortilla taste not great. I did enjoy my drink which was the fresa margarita -- it wasn't too sweet which I enjoyed. Our server was nice and efficient, however when I went to order the tzatziki potato salad, he was quick to tell me how much he didn't like it. I appreciate the honesty, but it came off not great.

Five stars for Oak & Ember! We started with the smoked burnt end fundido and it was incredible! It was rich, flavorful, and the perfect way to kick off the meal. For mains, we had the brisket and the tri-tip, plus the tzatziki potato salad and the ultimate mac and cheese. Every single dish was delicious and cooked perfectly. Service was top-tier. Our server was on point the entire time, bringing refills before we even had to ask and making sure we had everything we needed. The ambiance was just right! '90s music playing, a relaxed but lively vibe, and an overall atmosphere that made the whole experience even better. I really enjoyed this restaurant. Great food, great service, great vibes, and even the parking was fantastic. Oak & Ember is definitely a spot I'll be coming back to!

One of the coolest things about a speakeasy is the transition into the space. Here, there's a walkway and corner, then turn into the candle and subtle lit space. It's a small thing? But that bit of walk helps distance the mind and feel open to the special space. There is a bar with seating, a long high top, and bench & table booth-ish type seating. The colors are warm, reminiscent of sitting in a western sunset. Music plays - jazzy, alternative, happy music. We were greeted and seated by the friendly hostess, then welcomed warmly by the magic maker himself: the bartender! And what delightfully unique, and dare I say daring, concoctions he made! The cocktails each had a spin, an ingredient, something *different* from the norm, making it challenging for my friend and I to narrow down which delights to try! Even the popcorn was unique, with chili and nutritional yeast savoriness that was the perfect complement to our cocktails. My friend felt the Silver Cloud was quite the adult version of a smoothie dessert! She got ideas...I adored my Last Word. It was refreshing with the green chartreuse and incredibly not-put-down-able. Next up, she had the Bandolier. It was a very unique taste to her, pretty puckery, so the bartender - who checked on us regularly for impressions - added a bit more pineapple. That did the trick! My next was the Boulevardier, which was uniquely and deliciously twisted with the coffee and salt. Absolute yum!!! Even though there's a 90 minute limit, on this Thursday night there was plenty of space between imbibers, and we weren't pressured in any way to move along. Thank you, as we were due for a proper catch up. One thing we did notice, is that once there were more folks chatting and laughing, it became a bit echo-y and harder to hear. On a busier night, I imagine the ambience we first experienced- quieter, mellow, chill vibe - likely changes to more robust and lively. Either way, this place is a feels-far-away retreat worth "traveling" to.
