Wow!!!! The best burger I have ever had and that is huge coming from this burger and pickle snob! Meat is flavored and tender, all the toppings are super fresh and add beautifully to the meat. Fries are perfect crunchy on the outside with that mashed potato texture inside! And honestly the customer service is what keeps me coming back! Driving through La Canada today and saw the LC Smash truck. Checked the reviews and decided to try it out. Really glad I stopped as it had to be one of the best burgers I've had in a long time. The wagyu meat in combination with the toppings (arugula, cheese, onions, pickles) topped with the brioche bun really made the burger. If you're around the area and you're looking for some good food made the right way and what I mean by that is I had a talk with the owner he told me that the wagyu is 100% Australian wagyu and 100% halal too. Bought every 3 days to make sure it's fresh. Then the arugula is bought every day at Trader Joe's So for a little over 12 bucks you get a lot better food than you typically would. Stopped by this food truck on a beautiful day and The chef (Great Guy) offered me free fries for a review. Please keep them and thank you for the refund. Like I told him, I will tell you. This is not a "Gourmet" burger. I feel scammed that they used that word. It is Gourmet priced which is fine when the quality is matched. But this burger does NOT even use Gourmet ingredients. French's mustard! Seriously? Cheap pickles. Cheap Roma tomatoes I can taste were soft and mushy before they were sliced. Chunky raw onion. Lifeless arugula. In one bite I can separately taste the poor quality of each ingredient. The ingredients in this burger did not come together. That's the only bite I took and came back for a refund 4 hours later. Very nice folk, so I'm posting this review to help them, hoping they do better. First off, It took me 30 minutes to get my burger. 30 whole minutes. By that time, I could've drove down to Habit, ordered, eat and gone home. As for the "gourmet" I have to say I was highly underwhelmed. The meat was chewy, bread was dry, the fries were better than the burger IMO. And I give the fries a solid 6.5/10. I find it funny that when I posted a comment on their IG, they deleted it. I've been looking forward to this for a while. I kept seeing their food truck on foothill, but whenever it came time to eat, I forgot that they were around. I was really looking forward to their "Wagyu" beef, so I was glad i remembered it today. The veggies were fresh and the cooking trailer looked clean. The burger was okay, but at $14, I was expecting great. Cost aside, In-n-out Patties simply taste better than these wagyu ones. Could be great, but was only good. Good ingredients except for the bun which kinda fell apart. It needs firmer texture. And the cheese was kinda lost - didn't much taste it. Either need more flavorful cheese or more cheese (ala the Double-Double). The menu is way too short - burger with ketchup, mustard, onions, tomato, arugula. Fries. Drink. That's it. Only after the burger was made did I find out that you have a homemade sauce and pickled jalapenos. Here's what would get me coming back again and again: 4 Burgers. All American (as above but with iceberg lettuce instead of arugula), LC Burger (as above but with homemade sauce instead of ketchup and mustard), Spicy Burger (LC Burger with jalepeno jack and jalapenos. Chicago Burger (like a Chicago Hot Dog). Yes, you would have to add a couple of ingredients, but that would be a killer lineup. You could then make a gluten-free/keto burger by lettuce-wrapping with iceberg lettuce. You could also get creative with the fries (ala Animal fries). read more

I was in the area of La Canada and happened to drive by LC smashed. I'm so happy that I decided to stop for a burger. I love the simple menu. I ordered the LC burger and fries. The burger was delicious. You can tell they use top quality fresh ingredients. It was like eating a burger from a fancy restaurant. I have never found fries that compete with McDonald's fries but LC smashed fries are definitely up there.
