Our favorite local bar and restaurant it seems like it's our weekly spot. My husband and I love this place so much. Excellent bar, great beer and cocktails, food is amazing they have an amazing and talented chef. Our regular waiter and waitresses are Dj, Merlin and Lindell

Happy hour mini burger with fries ($6) What a steal

My first time in Montrose and at Basin 141. It's a cute little downtown area and I hope to return again. The ambiance can be dressy or casual. Probably a cute spot for a group hang out. There is 3 hour free parking lot in the back with access to Basin 141 from the back. Don't be a fool like my friends that walked all the way around to enter from the street side.... I went to Basin 141 for happy hour to catch up with some friends visiting. The food and drinks were really delicious and decently portioned for the price. I had the crispy pork taco, mini burger (which came with fries!), house wine, and house sangria. The mini burger and fries HH was such a steal and had carmelized onions that really set the flavor of the burger. And I love onions!! I was a little disappointed in the service. Staff were friendly but it was struggle life to get someone's attention to order food or drinks when it was not very busy. It felt like the two guys working at the bar were doing it all while three other workers were just chatting in the back. Overall, the happy hour was great and I would return if in the area.

We went here on a busy Friday night but luckily we were seated right away since a reservation had just canceled and opened up a nice booth for us to sit at! The evening was off to a good start. We ordered beers and shared fish tacos and a burger and they were all so darn good! Bonus tip: there's free public parking in almost every corner. Happy eating!

A beautiful Old Fashioned created by Basin 141

If you are traveling to Montrose, California, a beautiful, vintage looking town, be sure to stop into this amazing restaurant and bar. The staff is incredibly friendly and very knowledgeable on all the offerings. Their burger was one of the best I've ever had they make superb short rib tacos and their drinks are fabulous. They have a happy hour every day so it isn't a strain on your wallet. We dined outdoors and it had the perfect blend of ambience and spaciousness. We literally stumbled onto this place and was so glad that we did. Montrose is a lovely town with plenty of places to walk and window shop. When we saw Basin 141, it seemed to be so inviting, we had to stop. Paige is arguably the nicest server we've come across. She loves her job, the staff and the owner and based on her personality, you can tell. Sol is also an excellent server who took wonderful care of us. Going out to dine should be fun and exciting and these two people made us feel like we were special. In addition, Paige made sure to accommodate my wife's Gluten concerns. This was the cherry on top of the sundae for us. She understood my wife's allergy and made sure to cater to her needs. What a wonderful soul she is. Chelsea made me just about the finest Old Fashioned with Evan Williams Bourbon I've ever had. I made a point of going into the bar area to let her know. Joe (the owner of Basin 141), I hope you will let Paige, Sol and Chelsea know how much they made our visit so special. They have many craft brews on tap and display the ones that are "On Deck" so you can anticipate what to order on your next visit. I am anticipating so I will be sure to return very soon. You should too.

Colin and Shannon were in equal measure knowledgeable and welcoming. At Colin's suggestion we enjoyed a deliciously crisp dry stout, and Shannon's recommendation of truffle mushroom tacos and fish and chips was spot on. Convivial atmosphere , spotlessly clean interior and terrific service !

My boyfriend and I came to Basin 141 for Happy Hour before visiting Enchanted at Descanso Gardens. They are located in downtown Montrose, so parking is limited, but we were able to find free public parking within a block's radius and walked over. In general the area is nice to walk around. We shared Buffalo Wings ($14), Mini Basin Burger ($6 HH), Potato Skins ($7 HH) and Chicharrónes ($6 HH). The first item that came out was their K-Town Wings... which we didn't order cause my boyfriend doesn't really like sweet with savory. Good thing staff came by a while later to swap it with the buffalo wings we ordered. Ughh where's my celery and carrots?? On the menu it said it came with celery and carrots, but it just came out with the wings. The mini burger came with fries and we thought that was average. Good value for the happy hour menu. The potato skins were super oily cause they stuff it with Spanish chorizo. It made the texture on the mushy side instead of that nice crispy bite to potato skins. The chicharrónes were a fun snack. Overall good value during happy hour, but a really heavy snacking happy hour which left me feeling heavy but not entirely satisfied. We walked around the area afterwards to kill time before the time of our Enchanted visit to digest a bit.

Their happy hour starts early! It was surprisingly full when we arrived on Friday at 5pm, and sadly their happy hour ended at 5pm. We only ordered fries, which were ok, and drinks. They have bar seating, outdoor seating and booths along the wall. They have a few tvs on the walls. The waitress was great, attentive and friendly.

We only discovered Basin 141 because it was the closest place to have dinner after our Casa Cardoba's bad experience. This place was packed and poppin' and for good reason too. We got our waters immediately with drinks to follow and food swiftly ensued as well. Any drink was a good drink. The nachos were a great, shareable starter. The steak and frites were surprisingly perfect! Two of these steak frites here are for the price of one from Casa Cardoba. Worth ordering here. The ambience is lively and the traffic is flowing and the service was phenomenal. I would definitely come back if in the area.

Got there around 6:30 ans missed happy hour but were pleased with the welcoming waiter Nick. He brought us menus and made sure to bring our drinks right away. We enjoyed the 21 and older atmosphere and the many choices of meals. My mom got the tomato bisque soup with garlic sweet potato fries. I got the pot roast sandwich on a French roll with au jus and horseradish sauce. I ordered garlic fries. I got after eating only half of the sandwich but was really happy to take the rest home. The food was delicious and hearty. We will definitely come again. And they had several tvs with the Didger game in most, but news in teo others. All in all the service was good and the price was worth it. Glad we have this place in Montrose shopping park as we need to have many choices up here.

We enjoy stopping here once in a while on our way home from work to enjoy a couple of cocktails. Recently we learned that they offer brunch and we had to try it. So glad we did! The first time we tried the egg sandwich and breakfast flatbread, absolutely delicious! Added goat cheese to the flatbread and it was perfect. Our second visit we tried two chicken sandwiches , and again, delicious! Definitely a must try for brunch with a glass of rosé and a sangria. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful with questions we had. They have indoor and patio seating, we prefer outdoors and service is still very good and no one forgot about us. The food and drinks here are tasty and very reasonably priced. We highly recommended a visit here whether it's for a an evening out or for brunch. You'll enjoy yourself and Basin is a great local spot! Cheers!

Stopped in for lunch. Sat outside which was lovely. Inside was dark but very classic bar and I can imagine it would a fun place to stop for a beer or cocktail. Service was very prompt and friendly. They only had the brunch menu available so a little limited. My husband had the breakfast burger which he enjoyed except the egg was Sunnyside up and a bit undercooked. Nice runny yolk but still of the uncooked white stuff which he didn't like. Flavors were really good though, and the fries (extra) were thin and delicious. I had the Pickens chicken sandwich which was really good. Grilled sliced chicken breast, roasted Anaheim chilis, jack cheese and yummy caramelized onions accompanied by a little salad.

Gastropub with good eats and drinks Been here a few times and enjoyed myself every time. Service is usually pleasant and the servers are personable and friendly. While I've had various items from their menu, we ordered the grilled sausage platter this time. Pretzel and beer cheese is always good. There's 3 types of sausages but my fave was the spicy one. There's several TVs all around playing various sports games so we got to watch the 2024 Olympics while enjoying our drinks.

OVERALL It was nice to slip into The Famous Bar for the first time in over a decade, and if I found myself spending time in downtown Glendale again, I'd consider another visit. Sadly, I try to avoid the highly congested area as much as possible. I loved the fact that they had a daily happy hour (4pm-7pm) and late-night SU-TH happy hours (10:30pm-close), so there was always a deal to be found. The drinks were the main reason you came, while the food was just an add-on. The prices were elevated, but you had a good menu selection of libations (nice local craft beer list) to choose from. The customer service was easy, friendly, and straightforward. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $42.00 BEFORE any discounts/tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice...
