Stopped by this place to catch a World Cup match. Location was cute and has several TVs. We tried the mini corn dogs, Al pastor tacos, and fries. All were pretty tasty and since it was happy hour, very inexpensive! I only wish we were closer so that we could come more often.

Our favorite local bar and restaurant it seems like it's our weekly spot. My husband and I love this place so much. Excellent bar, great beer and cocktails, food is amazing they have an amazing and talented chef. Our regular waiter and waitresses are Dj, Merlin and Lindell

My first time in Montrose and at Basin 141. It's a cute little downtown area and I hope to return again. The ambiance can be dressy or casual. Probably a cute spot for a group hang out. There is 3 hour free parking lot in the back with access to Basin 141 from the back. Don't be a fool like my friends that walked all the way around to enter from the street side.... I went to Basin 141 for happy hour to catch up with some friends visiting. The food and drinks were really delicious and decently portioned for the price. I had the crispy pork taco, mini burger (which came with fries!), house wine, and house sangria. The mini burger and fries HH was such a steal and had carmelized onions that really set the flavor of the burger. And I love onions!! I was a little disappointed in the service. Staff were friendly but it was struggle life to get someone's attention to order food or drinks when it was not very busy. It felt like the two guys working at the bar were doing it all while three other workers were just chatting in the back. Overall, the happy hour was great and I would return if in the area.

We went here on a busy Friday night but luckily we were seated right away since a reservation had just canceled and opened up a nice booth for us to sit at! The evening was off to a good start. We ordered beers and shared fish tacos and a burger and they were all so darn good! Bonus tip: there's free public parking in almost every corner. Happy eating!

Colin and Shannon were in equal measure knowledgeable and welcoming. At Colin's suggestion we enjoyed a deliciously crisp dry stout, and Shannon's recommendation of truffle mushroom tacos and fish and chips was spot on. Convivial atmosphere , spotlessly clean interior and terrific service !

My boyfriend and I came to Basin 141 for Happy Hour before visiting Enchanted at Descanso Gardens. They are located in downtown Montrose, so parking is limited, but we were able to find free public parking within a block's radius and walked over. In general the area is nice to walk around. We shared Buffalo Wings ($14), Mini Basin Burger ($6 HH), Potato Skins ($7 HH) and Chicharrónes ($6 HH). The first item that came out was their K-Town Wings... which we didn't order cause my boyfriend doesn't really like sweet with savory. Good thing staff came by a while later to swap it with the buffalo wings we ordered. Ughh where's my celery and carrots?? On the menu it said it came with celery and carrots, but it just came out with the wings. The mini burger came with fries and we thought that was average. Good value for the happy hour menu. The potato skins were super oily cause they stuff it with Spanish chorizo. It made the texture on the mushy side instead of that nice crispy bite to potato skins. The chicharrónes were a fun snack. Overall good value during happy hour, but a really heavy snacking happy hour which left me feeling heavy but not entirely satisfied. We walked around the area afterwards to kill time before the time of our Enchanted visit to digest a bit.

had a good time here with some friends. hustle and bustle of a saturday night but we were seated quickly. atmosphere is lively and they had some ufc on. we ordered our drinks and food-- i liked the angus basin burger a lot and for the price i thought its a good deal with the fries as well. good place to warm up on a chilly january night

Their happy hour starts early! It was surprisingly full when we arrived on Friday at 5pm, and sadly their happy hour ended at 5pm. We only ordered fries, which were ok, and drinks. They have bar seating, outdoor seating and booths along the wall. They have a few tvs on the walls. The waitress was great, attentive and friendly.

We only discovered Basin 141 because it was the closest place to have dinner after our Casa Cardoba's bad experience. This place was packed and poppin' and for good reason too. We got our waters immediately with drinks to follow and food swiftly ensued as well. Any drink was a good drink. The nachos were a great, shareable starter. The steak and frites were surprisingly perfect! Two of these steak frites here are for the price of one from Casa Cardoba. Worth ordering here. The ambience is lively and the traffic is flowing and the service was phenomenal. I would definitely come back if in the area.

Got there around 6:30 ans missed happy hour but were pleased with the welcoming waiter Nick. He brought us menus and made sure to bring our drinks right away. We enjoyed the 21 and older atmosphere and the many choices of meals. My mom got the tomato bisque soup with garlic sweet potato fries. I got the pot roast sandwich on a French roll with au jus and horseradish sauce. I ordered garlic fries. I got after eating only half of the sandwich but was really happy to take the rest home. The food was delicious and hearty. We will definitely come again. And they had several tvs with the Didger game in most, but news in teo others. All in all the service was good and the price was worth it. Glad we have this place in Montrose shopping park as we need to have many choices up here.

We enjoy stopping here once in a while on our way home from work to enjoy a couple of cocktails. Recently we learned that they offer brunch and we had to try it. So glad we did! The first time we tried the egg sandwich and breakfast flatbread, absolutely delicious! Added goat cheese to the flatbread and it was perfect. Our second visit we tried two chicken sandwiches , and again, delicious! Definitely a must try for brunch with a glass of rosé and a sangria. Our waitress was friendly, attentive and helpful with questions we had. They have indoor and patio seating, we prefer outdoors and service is still very good and no one forgot about us. The food and drinks here are tasty and very reasonably priced. We highly recommended a visit here whether it's for a an evening out or for brunch. You'll enjoy yourself and Basin is a great local spot! Cheers!

Good sense of humor in the ladies room.

I wasn't quite ready to go home yet after everyone went their own separate ways, and I'd never been here before, so why not since I was in the area? The name itself made it memorable for me, but rarely did I visit this far-end part of Honolulu Ave. Did I manage to stay afloat at this Irish pub, or did my time at Gilligan's get washed away!? PURCHASE(S) Popcorn (COMP): Freshly-popped and salty, this paired well with my beer and filled my belly! This and peanuts need to return to all bars and breweries! This practice ceased after the pandemic. Modelo Especial Mexican Lager Beer 4.5% ABV 16floz Draft ($6.00): Amber color, light malty aroma, light body, malty watery flavor, smooth finish, and malty sweet aftertaste. A standard Mexican cerveza! SERVICE Graciously greeted by an older gentleman and woman behind the bar, I lumbered to an empty stool at the end of the bar, ordered an easy draft beer which came quickly, and grabbed a bowl of fresh popcorn from behind me. Because I was there just to check things out and ended up having only one drink, there was no other need for their services. Everything was straightforward and just what I needed - thank you! PARKING (FREE): I simply walked over from the nearby El Sol Family Restaurant where I earlier parked. Otherwise, I didn't recall a separate lot for them, but there were many spots along the main drag of Honolulu Ave. - 'nuff said. ATMOSPHERE, DÉCOR, AMBIENCE A casual divey simple bar that seemingly catered to the locals in the neighborhood with a lone pool table, a dart board, several tall tables, and a basic bar on the inside, while an open back patio with communal tables and lawn ornaments was nice for some fresh air. I saw two dogs inside, which was a nice thing. The only natural light entered through the front or back doors whenever they were open (obviously, the back patio was all natural lighting with some hung string electric lights) while dim electric ceiling lights covered the rest inside. I believed there were a couple of muted TVs while customers fed the jukebox for some music. ATTIRE Totally casual, so I would normally be in a t-shirt, boardshorts, and flip-flops. OVERALL I was always down for a dive bar, and Gilligan's Irish Pub nearly fit the bill. I was fine with the no-frills aspect, but outside of the Guinness on tap and signage, it didn't feel quite like other Irish pubs I've been to; rather, just a regular watering hole where the regulars came in after work, shot the shit, didn't care too much of what they were drinking, and possibly husbands hid here from their wives. There wasn't a kitchen, so outside food was allowed, but I understood they sometimes had food trucks. Additionally, I wasn't sure whether or not they had a happy hour. The prices were affordable, the liquor selection was decent, and the service was easy. Plus, I preferred to support small mom & pop businesses whenever possible. I found very good value based on the prices, service, and experience noted above (TOTAL paid experience was around $6.00 BEFORE any discounts, points usage, and/or tip). And, they accepted my credit card of choice... AMEX! 4.0 STARS

We found this place last minute to watch the final FIFA World Cup game when we were turned around…read morefrom another spot. Thank god we got turned away because this place is a hidden gem. They do have parking behind the building which seems to fill pretty quickly if they're busy, but it's easy to find parking around the neighborhood. I am not usually in the tavern scene so I was surprised that we had to order and pay at the bar, but it wasn't a big issue. My friend and I split the kale caesar salad and the macaroni and cheese. For the table, I ordered the waffle fries after being informed by the kind waitress that that was the better choice over the pretzel (which she also said was amazing). Since the place was filling up for the final, the kitchen was a bit slow, but we barely noticed with how attentive the staff were in getting us drinks and refills. When it came to food, we were pleasantly surprised with this place and is honestly the reason I'm writing this review. The first things we got were the Beef Tallow Waffle Fries, Caesar Salad, and mac and cheese. Obviously the fries were much better, however the salad was also divine but just swimming in dressing. Back to the fries, we all were mindblown with how tavern fries could be this good and had so many flavors. Even the skinny queens in our group kept snacking on them which tells you how good these were. Mac and cheese came and it was standard and creamy but not necessarily something I'd return for. The surprising thing on top of the fries that majority of us loved was the Vegan Tomato Scampi with shrimp. It was fire and had me questioning if it was even Vegan. Would definitely return here if I find my way back to SoCal from the Bay. Great unassuming place with great food and vibes. Their bathroom as well is super clean and nice! Love this place!
