I finally got to try the Great White Hut. I mean I came upon it by accident. I didn't realize it would be so tiny! I don't know what I was expecting but it is amazing that they can serve up such food in a small place. I've seen videos and these guys get a lot of credit for working in a such a small place. The day I went my wife said "99 cent tacos on Tuesday". I said, too bad it's not Tuesday. She is IT IS! HAHA ok, well, now I know what I want. I went to the window and asked if it was true, 99 cent tacos, she said yes! Well $3 later, I had my two tacos. Was it any good? Well, yeah! It was! Look, it wasn't the best tacos in the world or the best I have tried but it was really good and if I had the time, I'd get a beer and sit down and eat these good tacos and then they might be some of the best! Unfortunately I had to do other things so I just enjoyed these two tacos and I got the spicy versions and let me tell you, the kick from the spice was awesome!!!! The good: Although small, the way this burger is constructed makes sense. Good, fresh ingredients with a nice crunch and somewhat decent hamburger patty. The price is right. $6 for a single. A square deal in today's insane landscape. The bad: the bun sucks. Like most burgers out there, the bun lacks in freshness and ingredients. Bake your own buns. Also, the sauce can be annoying. BEWARE OF THEFT AT THE GREAT WHITE HUT: I am writing this review after a very frustrating experience with the main cook at Great White Hut. I ordered four tacos, two chicken and two carne asada, that were sloppily wrapped in a single aluminum foil. Starving, I began eating the tacos and after eating my first one I realized I was only given three tacos instead of the four. Then, I immediately informed the cook that I was given three, but he firmly insisted that he, "had made them himself and had made four." He proceeded to slide the window in my face. Clearly, he thought I was not telling the truth despite eating the food in front of all the employees. Clearly, he thought I was not telling the truth, despite everyone in my group ordering food and not complaining. Clearly, he thought I was not telling the truth, despite everyone in my group agreeing that I did not receive my taco. Clearly, he thought I was not telling the truth because in all honesty, he was too lazy to make another taco. NEVER in my life have I received that type of treatment from someone in the food industry. Never mind the fact that I did NOT receive the food I paid for, the incredulous act of someone slamming a window in my face when I kindly asked them ONCE for the food I did not receive is anathema to me. I would be absolutely embarrassed if I owned a restaurant and an employee exhibited this egregious behavior. I strongly hope my review discourages you, the reader, to not eat at this establishment. It was loaded with beans,fries,ground meat, etc. as soon as I grabbed it broke apart. Had to ask for utensil to scope the broken pieces. Service was fast but it was more of business mentality look. Not very welcoming. They was no sauce offered for the burrito and no straw for the drink. This place is more like order your food and gtfo and leave. They need to improve their service. Friendly folks and a diverse, fun, albeit not particularly healthy (but that's what makes it fun) menu in a stand-alone restaurant in the heart of Glendale. I've eaten here a few times, mostly with my kids. Classic burgers, funky fries, breakfast burritos, all at pretty affordable prices. Old school stools at the bar-and-counter that wraps around the little shack with some lunch table-esque tables by the nearby pharmacy. You can make your burger a single or a double, and also do an Impossible burger or protein style lettuce wrap as well. There is no indoor seating as it's just a little shack, so bring a jacket or take it to-do if it's cold or raining out. Unfortunately, only once have they gotten my order 100% correct. The last time all three of our orders have been, well, abysmally wrong (which is not fun when you have picky kids who will not eat burgers with sauce on them - and then you don't find this out until you drive all the way home). I've been meaning to write this for a while for the Great White Hut--this spot is legit! It's truly a classic in Glendale for a reason. We tried a mix of dishes to get a feel for the menu: the cheeseburger, carne asada burrito, and the fiesta fritas. Everything was tasty, but the star of the show was definitely the carne asada burrito--packed with flavor and unlike anything else. The diablo sauce on the fiesta fritas definitely had a kick to it. Well, I was trying to avoid updating the rating because I like the concept of the place - little hut open when you get hungry late nights, very convenient. And the food is just ok, half of the time. But they keep hiking the prices up like we all have money printers at home. Long story short - a single taco is almost $3 now. Yes, a regular little taco is almost $3. Actually probably over $3 if you include taxes. Just look at my photos, that's a $1.5, maybe $1.8 taco at most. These guys creep the prices every few months seems like. Anyways, that combined with pretty inconsistent quality, probably one of worst taco deals on Tuesdays (read my earlier reviews if interested), bad salsa, and the fact that every time I get food from here at least one thing has to be wrong, looses a star for me. If I could give 3.5 stars I would, but it's definitely closer to 3 than 4 for me, so 3 stars it is. I mentioned in my first review that I liked the California Burrito but the last 2 times I got it it was mushy and kind of flavorless, so maybe the first two times I lucked out? Or the other way around ‍ P.S. Aren't we all tired of how restaurants just keep gouging prices? I used to work in the Glendale area and would always pass by this stand for the Great White. Decided to try it again after 8+ years and it did not disappoint. It's located on the corner of W California St and N Orange St., and literally just the stand, but you can't miss it with the red and white tops with high top seating around. You can either order at the terminal or via a QR code and ordering through your phone. It wasn't busy at the time I went which was right after our showing at the Nocturn. I placed an order on the terminal for The Classic fries, Carne Asada burrito, and a double cheeseburger. The fries were my favorite among the items I ordered. Plenty of carne asada, cilantro, and lots of garlic aoli sauce. The meat was seasoned well, creamy and garlicky aoli was great with bites of cilantro. Delicious. The burger and burritos were decent too. Lots of meat and beans in the burrito with onions and cilantro, the double cheeseburger was pretty standard as well. This was a cool looking food stand in a parking lot lit up and busy filling orders. You order at a kiosk and wait for your food. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and it took about less than 10 mins. The tacos were big and priced just right for being downtown near many hotels, upscale and budget hotels and restaurant choices. This one was open late. I placed my order around 10pm so they may be open much later on a friday night. Although the tacos fixed my growling stomach, it was missing heavier seasoning. I failed to add salsa or sauce. Good Local Spot, it really is a hut. I think if you order on door dash, it's prepped in a different place off broadway? If you go to the actual hut, it's pretty close to Portos. Parking is OK, I've gone later when the pharmacy is closed and either used an open spot or parked in front of the pharmacy. There's a few places to sit counterstyle, it's doable but it's a tossup whether there will actually be space for you. I'd plan on taking it to go or eating in your car. The food is pretty solid, think diner food, but imo better. A little pricier but I think it's worth it. They're friendly, quick, helpful. They aren't going to chat you up forever even if you're sitting at the counter, and they are friendly enough. If you're in the area and want a burger, burrito, or covered fries I'd give it a shot. read more

The jalapeños surprisingly had a good kick to them. Overall the fries were ok but nothing spectacular. The burger was a solid burger. It had all the basics and thousand island sauce. When I finally spoke up, a young lady working behind the counter responded with a level of rudeness that was honestly shocking. It was some of the worst customer service I've encountered, and it actually made me leave without ordering at all. I didn't pay attention that there was like, jack cheese, in it too. I don't like my burritos with shredded cheese in them, but that was my oversight. The onion and cilantro were diced fresh.
