Another place I've had bookmarked forever. The problem is every time I try a restaurant in Glendale, I am sorely disappointed. Nonetheless, I decided to try this burger joint located in an outdoor shack in a corner parking lot next to a pharmacy. There are spots to park in the lot, though it's not a huge lot. You can walk up and order at a kiosk on the outer side of the building. Or, you can order off their website. Oddly, despite prices being essentially the same (I think fries were 10 cents more), the app had a couple of deals they did not offer if you ordered at the restaurant. One was 2 double cheeseburgers for $14. Another was 2 specialty create-your-own fries (you can add up to three toppings on each order of fries) for like $14. Both are great deals. I got my stuff to go since it's literally a small shack with maybe four stools on one side where you pick up the food. Most people got their stuff to go from what I saw. I don't think anyone stayed to eat there. I added bacon and grilled onions to my burger, and split a fries with the missus, who had the other cheeseburger with grilled onions added. They do charge you for these additions, but it's reasonable. Food comes out very quickly. Despite being busy with the lunch crowd on a weekday, my order got made in under 10 minutes after I placed it on their website. The burger I thought was very good quality, as far as the meat goes. The bun was serviceable, but they could jazz it up with a sesame seed bun. The fries were also very good. The only problem I will say is that they fall victim nowadays to a glut of great burger joints, at least for me. Amboy in Chinatown and Covina, along with Burger District LA in DTLA are exceptional and have set a very high bar. Great White Hut's product is great, but it's not exceptional. Would I order it again? Maybe. I wouldn't be disappointed to order it or eat it again. I enjoyed my meal. But, I don't live in Glendale, so the drive is about the same to any of these three places, and with that being the case, chances are I would just go to Amboy or Burger District. Still, there are a lot office buildings around this location, and if I worked there or lived nearby I would certainly come here to grab a burger regularly. It was good stuff. Just not mind blowing. I still recommend it, especially to locals. Check it out if you haven't yet. There also are a few locations from what I could make out on their website. Yes, The Great White Hut is a total gut buster. It is a flavor bomb that will assault your tastebuds in all the right way. It's not something I could have multiple times in a week. But as a treat, this is the place to go. There is a timelessness of the small walk up stand. It's tiny and right out of the past. You just instantly know that thousands of people over decades have also walked up to the same counter. I love that feeling. The burgers are classic. They're no frills, standard fair. You can taste the griddle that they're bring cooked on. It's that taste you always want to make when making burgers at your home, but just never will be able to replicate. Simply put, it's a perfect burger. The fries, on the other hand, are something right outta the modern era. They're loaded with toppings and flavor. You can taste the grease and richness with every bite. They're meant to be eaten slowly. But they're so tasty you can't help but inhale them at an unhealthy rate. If possible, I suggest sharing one order with someone else. I'm so glad I finally got out to this spot. I am going to try and visit as many times as I can before they unfortunately close down. Better than fast food, the burger and fries were very good, well prepared, and very tasty. I would definitely return the next time I have a craving. I didn't try their loaded fries, tacos, or burritos, but the pictures look delectable. I'd be open to trying them next. The man at the register was helpful and the woman working the grill was very friendly and smiled when she did the food handoff. I finally got to try the Great White Hut. I mean I came upon it by accident. I didn't realize it would be so tiny! I don't know what I was expecting but it is amazing that they can serve up such food in a small place. I've seen videos and these guys get a lot of credit for working in a such a small place. I have driven past this little shack sooo many times and I've never stopped. But the other day (on our way home from a movie) the fiance and I decided to check it out. It was close to closing and the sound of sharing nachos sounded fun so we did just that. Let me tell you, holy cow, were these nachos freakin delicious! Friendly folks and a diverse, fun, albeit not particularly healthy (but that's what makes it fun) menu in a stand-alone restaurant in the heart of Glendale. I've eaten here a few times, mostly with my kids. Classic burgers, funky fries, breakfast burritos, all at pretty affordable prices. Old school stools at the bar-and-counter that wraps around the little shack with some lunch table-esque tables by the nearby pharmacy. You can make your burger a single or a double, and also do an Impossible burger or protein style lettuce wrap as well. There is no indoor seating as it's just a little shack, so bring a jacket or take it to-do if it's cold or raining out. Unfortunately, only once have they gotten my order 100% correct. The last time all three of our orders have been, well, abysmally wrong (which is not fun when you have picky kids who will not eat burgers with sauce on them - and then you don't find this out until you drive all the way home). I've been meaning to write this for a while for the Great White Hut--this spot is legit! It's truly a classic in Glendale for a reason. We tried a mix of dishes to get a feel for the menu: the cheeseburger, carne asada burrito, and the fiesta fritas. Everything was tasty, but the star of the show was definitely the carne asada burrito--packed with flavor and unlike anything else. The diablo sauce on the fiesta fritas definitely had a kick to it. Well, I was trying to avoid updating the rating because I like the concept of the place - little hut open when you get hungry late nights, very convenient. And the food is just ok, half of the time. But they keep hiking the prices up like we all have money printers at home. Long story short - a single taco is almost $3 now. Yes, a regular little taco is almost $3. Actually probably over $3 if you include taxes. Just look at my photos, that's a $1.5, maybe $1.8 taco at most. These guys creep the prices every few months seems like. Anyways, that combined with pretty inconsistent quality, probably one of worst taco deals on Tuesdays (read my earlier reviews if interested), bad salsa, and the fact that every time I get food from here at least one thing has to be wrong, looses a star for me. If I could give 3.5 stars I would, but it's definitely closer to 3 than 4 for me, so 3 stars it is. I mentioned in my first review that I liked the California Burrito but the last 2 times I got it it was mushy and kind of flavorless, so maybe the first two times I lucked out? The good: Although small, the way this burger is constructed makes sense. Good, fresh ingredients with a nice crunch and somewhat decent hamburger patty. The price is right. $6 for a single. A square deal in today's insane landscape. The bad: the bun sucks. Like most burgers out there, the bun lacks in freshness and ingredients. Bake your own buns. Also, the sauce can be annoying. I used to work in the Glendale area and would always pass by this stand for the Great White. Decided to try it again after 8+ years and it did not disappoint. It's located on the corner of W California St and N Orange St., and literally just the stand, but you can't miss it with the red and white tops with high top seating around. You can either order at the terminal or via a QR code and ordering through your phone. It wasn't busy at the time I went which was right after our showing at the Nocturn. I placed an order on the terminal for The Classic fries, Carne Asada burrito, and a double cheeseburger. The fries were my favorite among the items I ordered. Plenty of carne asada, cilantro, and lots of garlic aoli sauce. The meat was seasoned well, creamy and garlicky aoli was great with bites of cilantro. Delicious. The burger and burritos were decent too. Lots of meat and beans in the burrito with onions and cilantro, the double cheeseburger was pretty standard as well. This was a cool looking food stand in a parking lot lit up and busy filling orders. You order at a kiosk and wait for your food. I ordered 2 carne asada tacos and it took about less than 10 mins. The tacos were big and priced just right for being downtown near many hotels, upscale and budget hotels and restaurant choices. This one was open late. I placed my order around 10pm so they may be open much later on a friday night. Although the tacos fixed my growling stomach, it was missing heavier seasoning. I failed to add salsa or sauce. This review deserves 0 stars but yelp wont allow it. Writing this review on behalf of an elderly friend who visited this establishment on Wednesday and ordered a burrito for pick-up. When he arrived, the man behind the counter was very rude. When he got home, he tried to eat his meal, but couldn't because the beans were spoiled/rotten. He called immediately to report it, but the woman who answered was extremely rude and dismissive, even accusing him of lying and insisting the beans were fine. When he called back on Thursday, no one answered. He tried once more on Friday morning, and another staff woman finally listened, apologized, and offered a replacement or a refund. However, my friend was not looking for a refund--he simply wanted to ensure your team is aware that they are serving spoiled food that could easily make someone sick or land them in the hospital. Please address this with your staff and ensure they treat customers with respect, especially the elderly. read more

Good Local Spot, it really is a hut. I think if you order on door dash, it's prepped in a different place off broadway? If you go to the actual hut, it's pretty close to Portos. Parking is OK, I've gone later when the pharmacy is closed and either used an open spot or parked in front of the pharmacy. There's a few places to sit counterstyle, it's doable but it's a tossup whether there will actually be space for you. I'd plan on taking it to go or eating in your car. The food is pretty solid, think diner food, but imo better. A little pricier but I think it's worth it. They're friendly, quick, helpful. They aren't going to chat you up forever even if you're sitting at the counter, and they are friendly enough. Food: ordered the chicken California burrito, build your own fries, and asada quesadilla. Chicken burrito was okay. Probably wouldn't order this again. The chicken was decent but not something I'd crave again. Build your own fries: super yummy and love that it comes with 3 toppings and 2 sauces. Ordered mine with asada and an egg on top. Was great. Asada quesadilla: flavorful and tasty. Can't go wrong with a quesadilla. Service: when I came on Monday night at 10pm, ordering was only available through self service kiosk. Ordered and paid for an extra salsa but they forgot it. Got my order fast though. Ambiance: this is a really small outdoor only "hut." This place can get pretty packed with limited seating around the hut and three tables near the pharmacy. Parking is available in the lot but it's shared with the pharmacy.
