First time stopping in. I've seen a few Fat Sals around the city before. I happened to see be walking around here in the after and decided to give it a try. The location is clean and a large hall type place. It was around 2:30 pm and it was empty except for me. Not sure if it fills up during lunch hours but it felt too big of a space for only having me as a customer at that time. That being said everything is clean and new. Large TVs mounted on walls, music pumping etc. Service was good, friendly, welcoming. Asked if it was my first time and she took a moment to explain the menu and options which is not always the case at some places (where it might seem bothersome to the worker if a customer asks questions or dare say it's their first time there). This was not the case here, very friendly. I settled on their bahn mi take on their sandwich. It was large and delicious, but so was the price almost $20, not including fires or combo option. Perhaps a reason the location was on the emptier side? I did also ask for a side of fries which were very good, seemed fresh made and we done. We stopped by Fat Sal's for a late dinner on a week night. It was my first time so I took a moment to review the entire menu. Everything looked good and heavy. The store itself felt very open and airy. It felt much larger than the Sprint store that previously occupied the space (I dunno how they did that). We got our food to go but had we dined in, there was plenty of seating considering the size of the restaurant. The servers/cashiers were very friendly and the store felt very clean. After looking at the menu for what felt like a long time, I ended up getting the Philly fries while my partner got the pastrami western smash burger and a strawberry cheesecake shake. The fries were ok. There wasn't that much meat to make them really "Philly" in my mind and they were kinda dry. I was hoping for some cheese whizzy gooey goodness. Even though we ate the fries about 10 after getting them, the cheese had already cooled and hardened into a mass which is the worst for any sort of cheese fries (IMO). The burger was decent but smaller than I imagined. To me, I feel like Carl's Jr. has something similar from time to time (with their rotating menu of special burgers) and is usually cheaper. Had FAT TEXAS, pastrami cut paper thin without any discernible Pastrami Flavor. Opened up sandwich and picked out Pastrami to taste, bland, zero flavor whatsoever. Entire sandwich had zero taste except for the BBQ sauce. Ate everything separate to give accurate tasting review. Mozzarella sticks were as expected, bland. Chicken cutlet was bland. Fries were bland. Overal I can appreciate they being adventurous Nd trying to come up w the cool taste profiles. But I'm a pastrami snob and didn't appreciate the super paper thin slices that had no flavor. I did love their Freestyle Beverage Dispenser 5 stars for that. Service was good. The place is huge, with plenty of space inside and out, and many TV monitors for game night! We ordered food and shakes. Their shakes aren't cheap, but I would order them again. I had the coffee one and itwas really good! we also had two sandwiches. The fat style servings could be shared, but the smash burgers can be all for yourself. Fat Sal's in Glendale had a long coming soon sign that made it seem like it was never gonna open. I've been there twice and the customer service was great both times. The sandwiches are a beast. The first time we went there was after a baseball game and it was one of the few places open late on a weeknight. I got the philly cheesesteak ($16.99) and it was really good. Sliced ribeye and some melted white american cheese plus grilled onions. It def hit the spot. On a recent night I ordered a Fat Texan ($19.99) and that sammich kicked my butt. I could only eat half of it. Ha! I thought I was hungry but these Fat sandwiches are hella loaded. It comes with pastrami brisket, chicken fingers, mozzarella sticks, cheddar cheese, bacon, grilled onions, french fries, honey bbq, mayo all insode a garlic hero. It's a load for sure. The flavors all combine to make a great tasting sandwich. I was shocked it took me 2 sittings to finish... Also ordered was a Double Smash burger ($10.99) which comes with american cheese, onions, ketchup, pickles, mustard and what they call Fat sauce. It was well received and would be a repeat order. Digital menus that change with cool graphic and clearly laid out menu items including their Signature Heros, Smash Burgers, Salads & Wraps, Fat Sandwiches, Fat Sides, Fat Fries and of course Fat Shakes and various Beverages. It was a late night post outing dinner for two vegans and a omnivore. We had the Impossible Double Smash, Plant-based Buffalo Fries, Vegan Milkshake, a Regular Shake, Two Large drinks and two orders of tots in our group of three. It's a little on the moderate side for fast casual, but also good quality, quantity and great service. Was overwhelmed in a good way with the artsy modern street decor, neo neon, gender neutral restrooms with sliding doors (slide toward you to roll open). We had our pick of several flat screen monitors above us while we ate. Everything came out relatively easy, but the milkshakes much longer than expected. Parking in front, locally and at the Americana. All of it paid, though at the Americana you can get validation for certain businesses/places part of it's store, shop and restaurant blocks. A few days ago we visited Fat Sals in Glendale. A very well designed and clean restaurant, with excellent service, and, delicious sandwiches. If you're craving bold flavors and serious comfort food, this sandwich shop hits the spot. Their Philly Cheesesteak is everything it should be, juicy, packed with thinly sliced steak, melted american cheese, and grilled onions. Simply delicious. The Pastrami Fries were out of this world. This place be making some FAT foods. So let's see if they're pretty good eh or ew. Vibes were on point and I got their limited time chicken fingers and caviar, chili burger, fat Texan, and fat red velvet cookie to try. The chicken fingers came with caviar, creme fresh, and chives. It was me and my grandma's first time ever trying caviar and i didn't like it. It was like fishy and bitter and a bit salty and just not for me. The chicken finger also kinda just reminded me of a mccrispy. My grandma said she liked it tho. Her fave part was the creme fresh lol. I added crispy savory bacon to the chili burger which also came with a small layer of thick rich chili, salty briney pickles, crunchy raw onions, two thin crisp smash patties, and some american cheese that lowkey got lost in there all on some buttery soft buns. I also got bacon on the fat Texan and removed the mozzarella sticks and mayo cuz I don't like them but this sando was still really good. A Buttery garlicky crusty bread, crispity crunchy fries, smokey savory pastrami and bacon, sweet tangy barbecue sauce, fragrant grilled onions, and gooey cheese. Then you got that buttery, brown sugary, fat cookie STUFFED with sweet tangy creamy yummy cream cheese frosting. Fat Sal's is a sandwich chain with several locations. This is the newest location. It's located in Glendale on the corner of Brand Bl. and California. Metered street parking and public pay lots are conveniently located. We parked at the lot on Orange and California (less than a block away), where the first 90 minutes were free. This was my first time at a Fat Sal's. I visited with four others. We were impressed by the decor. It was cool and hip with a New York street vibe. The ambiance was fun, social and loud. Multiple televisions playing sporting events and misc videos lined the walls. Indoor and outdoor seating was available. This is an order (with the huge menu affixed to the wall) and pick up at the counter type restaurant. The menu was expansive with numerous original and very creative options for everyone. The vegetarian options were wonderful (Impossible Patties, vegetarian chicken, a plant-based shake, fries, and a veggie patty were on the menu in certain selections. We ordered the Fat Jake, the Fat Chick, the Fat Texas, Samoa Shakes, the Fat Cug, an Oreo Shake, the Impossible Double Smash, a Veggie Patty Salad, Tater Tots, Cheese Fries and Cookies. Our food was prepared promptly, in generous portion and artistically created, especially the shakes which were amazing in both presentation and taste. Other highlights were the Double Smash Impossible Burger and the tater tots. Service was outstanding. Everyone was friendly and super helpful. The CEO and President, Josh Stone, was at the location during the time of our visit. He was personable and down to earth and ensured everyone was happy with their dining experience. There were two spacious gender neutral, single user restrooms which were clean and functional. I've waited patiently for this place to open and I randomly checked to see if it was yesterday and it finally was. Now, I've eaten at the location in Hollywood, and I'm happy to report that this place is not only bigger, but BETTER if you're trying to chow down on some monstrous sandwich goodness. This place finally opened up. I have been waiting for this location since 2023. They are open until 3 AM so perfect place to get food after hours. The interior looks really nice and they have a lot of seating. The customer service was great and food came out fast. I was surprised at their portion sizes and how fairly priced everything is. When I was still living in Glendale I had saw that a Fat Sals was opening up. I was excited and waited but after awhile I had to move out of Glendale and didn't get to enjoy the fact that this place would be walking distance from me at the time. I always frequented the one in Hollywood for years and always got the Fat Anthony and Fat Bodega but decided to try something new which was the Fat Cug.First off I was pleased that this one finally opened even though I moved out of Glendale but I wanted to show support to place that I enjoy. It's nice inside! Quite big actually for a Fat Sals in my opinion. It looks really nice and bright and welcoming! Of course it's not a Fat Sals without the tvs filled with sports. The workers were cool and welcoming although you could tell they were tired and wanted the day to be over which is understandable considering Fat Sals is known for being open really late and it attracts the night owls, party goers, clubbers and all those in between for late night eats. So yeah understandable for them to be looking tired and over it but they did it with a smile and we're still welcoming which I applaud them for. I worked in food for 16+ years so I understand their plight haha. A lot of new things on their menu which was surprisingly welcoming and appetizing but I obviously will come back another time and get something on the side but for now I only got the Fat Cug. So the Fat Cug is as follows: Chicken cutlet, mozzarella sticks, Parmesan truffle, fries, ricotta basil spread, vodka sauce and all of this topped onto a garlic hero. So I have to say 8/10 for the Fat Cug because wow it was literally Chicken Parmesan in sandwich form which is awesome! I love chicken parm haha. The first bite was ok but once you get past it and get into the middle of the sandwich....wow! Flavorful! What I loved the most about this sandwich was the ricotta basil spread. My goodness that was a pleasant flavorful surprise! It wasn't too overpowering and it was just right! My brother said to his wife about the sandwich (which was the Fat Buffalo) that "The Buffalo hits the spot but the Cut reaches the soul" Which I agree because every bite is as just that! I've always loved fat sals and while they have room for improvement on a lot of things one thing remains the same and consistent which is that their Hero's are always portioned nicely and are always delicious. The wait is finally over! After what felt like forever under construction, Fat Sal's Glendale is officially open--and I was not ready for how wild this spot would be. Walking in, I was blown away. This isn't just a sandwich shop--it looks like the restaurant of the future. I'm honestly confused why they got such a huge space, but they filled it out with tons of seating and crazy design touches. There's a massive 360° rotating billboard sign inside, dope wall art, and an overall vibe that feels like they put a lot into making this place stand out. As for the food, I only ever order one thing: the Beef Dip. It's hands down my favorite sandwich anywhere. The horseradish aioli is insane, especially when paired with jalapeños and that rich, flavorful gravy dip. Absolute perfection. I've never been to a Fat Sal's but it was definitely good. I got the Pastrami which wasn't as loaded-up as the pic, but still tasted decent. The roll was crisp, it was a pretty standard roll. Like the kind you get a bunch of in a bag at Ralph's. We got seasoned fries. They were super seasoned with some all-seasoning, maybe Old Bay or something similar? Russian dressing on the side... maybe that came with the sandwich to help sauce all the bread. I couldn't tell the quality of the fries much through the seasoning, but we didn't finish them. They were somewhere between In and Out, but with a salt-guy super stylized kick. The cookie was over the top and wasn't really for me. Especially for $7. I didn't need a second cookie flavor stuffed in the middle, it reminded me of the Alien movie. Maybe, Spaceballs? The place looked ultra cool. There were cool people eating there. There was a pop-art-montage-fresco that gave vibes for days. I'm still vibing. I think you should go here if you're looking for your next ultra cool baby-daddy.
