Tonight I went to Flame Broiler to grab food because it was too late to cook. When I walked up to the counter, I was immediately greeted by Dora P., the cashier. She took me by surprise. Nowadays most of the younger generation is there taking up space to get paid. Dora was extremely pleasant. She struck up small talk. I walked away happy and eager to eat the delicious food. My new meal prep spot and I am in love! It eliminates all the prepping and they give bigger portions. Knowing I have this bowl of food waiting for me at home will make me think twice about going to my comfort food (sushi). So the bowl is delicious if you have goals. There chicken is way juicer than I can ever get it done at home and brown rice is cooked to perfection. I really appreciate the help from this place on my journey so If you feel like chicken, rice and some veggies this is the spot for you too!! The service is fast and you can see them assemble you bowl, which I have always enjoyed. I have never eaten there but they have a really clean spot and the patio looks nice on a beautiful Saturday morning. They also have kimchi which I have been wanting to try but don't really want to pay that much just in case it's store bought. They do offer free condiments and will give you additional at no charge which I thought was pretty amazing! read more

I really like this place. The food is fresh, healthy and simple. On my recent visit, I ordered the chicken bowl with brown rice and veggies. The price is reasonable and every dish is made to order. But honestly, i love love their magic sauce and hot sauce! That definitely adds the touch! The Restaurant on the east side of BAKERSFIELD has an outdoor patio which was nice. If you've ever eaten at a flame broiler ...this place is on par with them all. It's clean food you can eat while being on a diet. (stay away from the sodas lol) also it's pretty cheap. I will say though of this locations, the set up is SUPPPPER weird. You go in through the back door which is next to a bathroom and you come from behind the counter to order, not sure who designed this place but it's super awkward. read more

Not sure why this spot is getting so much hate, but it's one of the only healthier options on the entire east side (I think I just answered my question). Anyway, I've been here many times now since it's opened and the staff are always friendly and will even bring your food out to you. I love their simple and healthy selections, especially since you can go all Vegan / Veggie with their Tofu options (very rare still in fast food). Their bowls are always consistently good as well, so I will definitely continue to support all the flame broilers in town. (Love the California Ave. location as well) Oh yah, do try their thick green "Double Hot Sauce?". It has a great flavor and adds a nice punch. read more

Just went here for lunch and man was it good?! My bf and I ordered the special which is a chicken mini bowl plus a drink and I got my bro a regular tofu bowl. Price was great. The magic sauce was good :) I would not use with tofu, but that's just my preference. Otherwise I'm glad the east side is stepping up and I don't have to drive across town. read more

I can say that I am never disappointed when it comes to the food or service at flame broiler. I enjoy a nice fresh bowl of angus beef with white rice and steamed broccoli. Never have I received under cooked food or over cooked food and the staff are exceptionally friendly to everyone. I highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a quick bite! read more

Mostly doing this review because the girl working cash register was SO on it. She was in work mode for sure. She was taking orders then would run around and clean tables as people got up, mind you it's lunch time so she's busy. Never a dirty table the whole time I was there because of her. Obviously she was doing her job but I feel like most would just get to it when they feel like it. I usually go to the flame broiler on coffee and the girls there are on it too but lately the veggies haven't tasted right the last few times I've gone. Today at this location veggies were so good and chicken was the best it's been in a while! So thank you to the cooks! Very satisfied today! Props to the girl working today as well. read more

Came here last night, was impressed by how clean it was! It even smelled clean! I ordered a bowl, half and half with white rice. The food was a bit bland for my taste but the sauce made up for it. They also offer tofo!! I'm trying that next time I go. read more

It was nice to see one open in this area. I had gone to the one on White Lane many times and found this was much similar, but newer. I found this is a more healthy alternative to fast food. I have generally gone with a buddy that lives on the other side of town. He orders the regular bowl and i order the mini. We both order the chicken with vegetables and the brown rice (healthier) over the white rice. We differ of the sauce as I like the teriyaki and he goes for their spicy hot sauce. The hot sauce may be healthier in that it does not have the sugar in the teriyaki, but i will accept a few more calories. I highly recommend the place, but you had better like rice if you are going into a place where the main ingredients of a rice bowl is rice. read more

Yum was good I didn't expect 5 star just grab & go I got the works bowl not a bad price

I had never been to a flame broiler before I actually thought it was a burger place( too many years of Burger King commercials I guess) So I walk in and it's a teriyaki bowl place basically. Menu is very basic in a step 1-2-3 style : you choose your size .mini or regular bowl or a plate. You choose your "base" Your options were brown or white rice ,veggies ,rice and veggies ,or salad. And you choose your protein Angus steak chicken mixed or tofu . The prices are all on the protein side and based on the size and style of protein you choose. I picked a regular bowl with a veggie base and mixed chicken and steak. She gave me a weird look and asked you don't want rice? I said no just veggies. Mind you that IS one of their option in step 2 . I did not ask for anything off the menu. Yet when I got my receipt they charged me $0.50 extra because I didn't get rice even tho that was an option on their menu and made no note of an extra charge. Which irritated me , but oh well it's 0.50 cent . It irked me but I shrugged it off. Then I I get home and take a bite it was soooo salty it tasted horrible. And their was hardly any meat on it at all. For $8 I could have went Nextdoor to chipotle and gotten a much better meal. read more

Came in ordered 2- 1/2 and 1/2 with broccoli my only veggie... it arrives fully loaded... so I send it back , watching them, they picked off the veggies , put back the meat and broccoli and sent it back to me... only reason I even ate it because they at least had gloves on but come on really?!
