This review has been a long time coming. We've been coming to Frugattis since it was at the other location. This location has much better parking and is large and beautiful inside. The hostess and waiters/waitresses are always on top of it and are knowledgeable in the menu and are friendly. Today Dawn helped us and she was great. She was sweet and kept our drinks full as well as made sure we had everything we needed. You will get complimentary bread to start. The food is always great. I usually order the Alfredo with any pasta and it's always perfectly slurpable. The beverages are tasty including the cocktails that get the job done. This place just feels like home and is our favorite Italian restaurant in Bakersfield. Note: You can call ahead to see if you can reserve a spot or be put on the waiting list to minimize your wait during their busy hours.

We headed to Frugatti's on Brimhall and it was a great choice. Started with the house salad--fresh and perfectly dressed--then dove into their pepperoni pizza. The crust was spot-on, wood-fired goodness with just the right char. But the real standout was the bread they bring to the table. So fresh, warm, generous portions--could've made a meal out of it alone. Service was friendly and on point, keeping everything moving smoothly. The ambience nails that cozy, authentic Italian vibe--feels welcoming and romantic without trying too hard. Love the setup at the Brimhall spot: nice bar area, spacious takeout section (handy for busy nights). We're already planning the next visit. Definitely a new favorite in Bakersfield.

Stopped at this restaurant after a work day and I love the decor inside! We were seated fairly quickly and even the food came out fast. Our food was huge! Everything is delicious. I hope to come back to this restaurant the next time I'm in town for work. :)

Finally went to the new location. Ambiance is really fun- big and festive and loud and Italian I went with a friend on a Saturday night and it was some high schools winter formals so there was a long wait and lots of groups of high schoolers, we didn't mind we were fine to wait. We were seated about 25 mins after putting our name in. Our server was stretched a little thin so we'd see her and then she would disappear for a while. I had the fettuccine with filet tips and my friend had tortellini. I had a Chardonnay to pair with my fettuccine. We got fresh warm bread to the table with better which was delicious and had not to devour before our food arrived. I was a little surprised they didn't have more wine by the glass options but I missed their first page of reds and only saw the whites and special Italian wines but even still didn't seem like a ton of nice wines for a nice Italian restaurant My fettuccine was creamy and really hot. The steak tips with it medium and really seasoned well. The Chardonnay was a little sweet, and not my favorite, forgot the name of it but there were only 3 to choose from. We ended with lemon ricotta cheesecake and tiramisu. Both were super delicious. I think they've upped their desert game. So good.

3.50* I'm not a pasta person. I personally think it's a waste of calories and stomach space. I could think of other foods I'd much rather indulge myself in. However, my wife and children are fanatical about pasta. So, while visiting Bakersfield I decided that I'd find a pasta restaurant that they'd enjoy. Fruggati's was highly regarded. The restaurant itself is amazing looking. The olive trees that decorate the restaurant were beautiful. It was very well lit without being overly bright. Our server was very efficient, and my wife did feel bad because she did have her come to our table more than we normally do with servers. Now to the food. We ordered the bruschetta as an appetizer. Not my favorite thing. It was super briny tasting due to the cappers. It could be my lack of experience with authentic Italian cuisine, but every bruschetta I've had previously was more on the sweet side due to the olive oil and balsamic. This one did not have balsamic, and that may well be how bruschetta is supposed to be served. As my main I ordered the artichoke, bacon, and cherry tomato pizza. I was really looking forward to it and was a little disappointed. It tasted fine. My issue was the pizza dough. I'm more of a thinner and crispy dough type of person. This was more napoleon style. Very soft and floppy. The toppings would just slide off. I guess this was more of a fork and knife type pizza. To be fair the dough was very fresh tasting and under different circumstances or as a bread option it'd be killer. As a personal preference I didn't care for it as pizza dough. If you love pasta please do not let my review deter you. I'm not the audience for this place but it may be worth it for you to try.

This is one of go to spots and never fail with the warm greeting the kindness at the bar the bartender was very sweet I tried something different and wasn't disappointed that WOOD-FIRED Salmon with FAT SAMMY SAUCE was so delicious along with my asparagus and mashed potatoes was a nuff for dinner and brunch! Can't forget to mention the house salad and fresh baked bread I've mastered the savory flavor for dipping bread.

My sis in law recommended this place and it was a total hit! After a long drive we came in hungry on a Saturday night and the restaurant was completely full. The wait time was about 40 minutes so we found a spot at the bar and hungry as we were, ended up having dinner there. Portion sizes were very generous and make it easy to share. We ordered way too much food, as usual, and loved our time spent there. At the end of the meal, I was intrigued by the keto cheesecake, and I can honestly say it was the only thing I had that wasn't so good. It came as a small tarte, and had a really bitter flavor to it. I would not recommend it! Everything else was delicious and was plated beautifully. Service was top-knotch, and parking was plentiful as they share a lot with the adjacent hotel. I will definitely be back the next time I am in town!

Another great experience at Frugatti's. A huge shout out to Elliot for not only keeping up with our large group on the pario, but doing it with humor and style. Awesome service! Everyone loved their food, and the friendly atmosphere really made the evening enjoyable.

Another great date night, we try to come here once every few weeks. Imo they are one of the finest Italian places here in Bako. I ordered the Chicken Fettuccine and she ordered the Rigatoni Bolognese, two Old Fashions, dessert we had Lemon and Raspberry Cheesecake. The service was ok, on my leftover, I had asked for a bag of bread but she only gave me one roll which has never happened to me but I just took it since I don't cause a scene.

This place is a must try here in Bakersfield. (Especially if you have a large party.) The food is great (Italian of course) and the service depends on your server. I came with 2 other adults and like 4kids. We made reservations 1 week in advance. Lots of people celebrating birthdays, older folks out for a drink and pasta, and people on first dates (both looked nervous so I'm assuming). Our server took good care of us, the only thing he missed was my request for New England clam chowder but he also didn't put it in the bill so it was fine. All in all I give it n 8 out of 10. I'll for sure be back soon!

I love the individual pizza, so this time I tried the slice so I could have the minestrone soup. The pizza was sad af. It was half a flat bread pizza, very thin and greasy. It was like a microwaved pizza. The minestrone was lackluster. My first bite was a piece of red potato that was undercooked. The soup seemed throw together and just sad. Service was poor per usual. The severs tend to disappear for extended periods of time, even when it isn't very busy. Overall, this place is a pass. The quality of food and service is not worth the over inflated price tag.

Bakersfield Italian staple. The renovation looks beautiful and the space looks great. The decor feels like I left Bakersfield. I'm afraid the service is really long, but we did have a party of 8. We were also unlucky enough to have the furthest corner so I'm sure that doesn't help us either. The food is good, with notes of our favorites: Chicken Parm - standard, always dependable. Big pieces of breast make it hefty. I wish it came with more of the garlic mushrooms cause they were awesome. Braciole - a special for a reason. Good amount of meat, large plate that would work for two. Meat was tender too. Truffle Sacchetti - good amount! Has chicken too which helps. Hard to compare to Luigi's, I think Luigi's tastes better but you get a much better quantity from here.

Are dogs allowed on the patio?

They are not unless they are a real service dog,

Wondering if the meat served is Kosher?

To be honest not sure give them a call

    Do you sell gift cards?

    Yes

How is the noise level? Can you hear each other or do you have to yell?

I think because of the high ceilings, the sound doesn't boom. It's loud enough for a family with little ones to not have to shush constantly, but quiet enough for a couple to have a regular toned conversation.

Is there a bar or lounge?

No, not like what you are thinking, I'm sure. There are two small bar areas but there is very limited seating near them.

Hi there! I was going to probably place an order for some family TO-GO dinners. It says feeds 5, &I need to feed 15. However, the portions for one alone are plenty for 2! Has anyone on here placed one of those meals,& would 2 orders be plenty for 15?

May seem a bit odd, has anyone eaten here that is on weight watchers? Trying to figure out points, going there for a get together soon. TIA.

If you check out the website it should show the Ralph's fitness menu which has calorie count and what not

Hi! Are there gluten free options?

Yes!! The best!!! I am celiac and I get the best GF pasta and pizza here. The baked chicken dinner is also incredible, just have any veggies cook in the oven, so they're not dropped to cook in the same area the pasta is.

Are you allowed to bring your own wine, if so what is the corkage fee?

Yes you can bring your own wine. The corkage fee is $12.

Is any of their pasta housemade?

Yes they make all there pasta. It is absolutely authentic as it gets!

Is Frugatti's better than Olive Garden? If so, how?

Yes!!! It's local and fresh! All the specialty dishes are unique. The food is more flavorful.

I would like to host a bridal shower lunch in the wine cave for about 25-30 guests in February or March. What do your rates run for renting that room out for a party?…

I would call the restaurant or go in and speak with a manager for this information.

My philosophy is that pizza is like only one other thing in life - even if its not that great, its still pretty good. Thats why it pains me to report that Woodstone, once ranked as one of the best pizzas in Kern County, completely missed the mark tonight. Uber Eats offered a 50% off promo at Domino's this evening, but my wife and I opted to drop $70 on a medium Hawaiian and a "Woodstone" (combination), with a side of boneless buffalo wings instead. Upon arrival, we noticed both medium pizzas were delivered in large size boxes, leaving a wide berth between the crust and the edge of the box. While the pies were delivered in good condition and warm to the touch, they were not as visually striking as one would expect. It was clear that too small pizzas were placed in too big boxes. I dove into the combination first, and immediately noticed a bland lack of flavor. I tried to add some pizzaz with the provided pepper flakes and parm, but no dice. I had to dip my slice in ranch just to choke it down. Unfortunately, the Hawaiian pizza was no better. The crust on both pizzas was hard, almost as if it was stale, and each of the toppings were congealed together in the melted cheese so there was just an amalgam of bland flavor throughout each bite. Both pizzas tasted the same, in fact (not good). I moved on to the wings and they had an off flavor and gummy texture as well. Truly, everything tasted like it was left out from the lunch buffet a day or two ago and someone brushed some garlic butter on everything, nuked it for half a minute, and half assedly packaged it all up for us tonight. The good news is the City of Bakersfield announced that it is acceptable to dispose of pizza boxes in the green waste can now. Sadly that's where this entire meal wound up.

The pizza is great if you can get it when it's hot…read more We ordered pizza for pickup, when I arrived only two guest dining-in eating pizza already. There were a few employees behind the counter, nobody came to the front to assist me. I have nerve damage in my lower extremities so standing for too long hurts. Not to mention, there's a sign on the counter that's says pizza that is done will be placed on the counter, and to have a seat if the pizza isn't there. So I sat. I'm sitting in the dinning area, table directly in front of the checkout counter, I'm facing the checkout counter. An employee even walked out right by me, made eye contact, checked out the salad bar and then went back to the kitchen without ever asking if I needed assistance or if anyone had helped me yet. A little time goes by, employees are walking around the kitchen where they can see me, nobody coming out to ask how they can help me or to take my order. Some other woman comes in and kitchen staff immediately come to the front counter to help her. I got up to get in line now that some customer service is being offered but a family rushed in the line ahead of me to order. So I'm just standing there, with our pizza done and ready getting cold sitting up on top of their oven, not out on the counter where the sign says pizza is placed when it's done. While I'm standing there waiting for the customer in front of me to finish ordering and paying, another employee comes out to the checkout counter, makes eye contact with me but turns his back and starts sorting ranch. He could have easily just grabbed our finished pizzas and breadsticks and brought it out to me since we had already paid online, or maybe even just asked, "how can I help you?" Any of the many times he made eye contact with me, but he didn't. I was completely ignored. It was finally my turn to get some help. I asked where the pizza is kept once it's finished, so the server pointed to the top of the oven where they pulled our pizza down from. The pizza wasn't even warm enough to feel heat coming from the boxes when they handed them to me. Why I had to wait for others to come in and kick the kitchen staff into customer- service mode is beyond me, unless their kitchen staff is all racist? What other reason could this behavior be? Staff should be rushing to the counter to help every customer the same. So tell me why I was ignored the way I was, yet the kitchen staff rushed in to provide service to other people before me as soon as they walked in? This pizza isn't good enough to be eating it cold and hard after being treated poorly by staff. Get rid of the sign instructing online orderers to have a seat and wait if you're not going to assist customers sitting in your dining room.
