I wanted to pop on here and give a shout-out to Tony's Firehouse Grill on the east side of Bakersfield. If you haven't been yet, you've definitely got to check it out! The atmosphere is great, the food is always good, and we've consistently had great service. My wife usually gets one of their salads, and it's always fresh, well-made, and loaded with fresh ingredients. I'm usually going for the pizza, and they definitely don't skimp on the toppings! They're very generous, everything tastes fresh, and it's always been a solid meal. Great spot for pizza, kids, and sports. It's spacious and clean. I love the decor and the vibe of the place. It would have gotten 5 stars but it's my son's birthday and they don't do anything for birthdays like a little ice cream or something. Kind of lame for a pizza place. The pizza was good. This place is huge and in a great location for the kids sports teams. They have a great selection of foods but I felt like it all lacked flavor. We had a big party so there was a lot of food going around. The ones that stood out were the onion rings and the fried green beans..they were awesome. But the southwest salad, the cheese pizza, the wedges, or the fish and chips had any flavor. I mean, how do you mess up the dressing on a salad?! I did really like our waitress. We've tried this restaurant 3 times. Food is terrible. We ordered the Brisket burger and the "Brisket" was ALL gristle. We showed the waitress and she was shocked supposedly. Said it definitely should not come like that. Then she walked away. We never got new brisket, an apology or even a discount since we clearly did not receive what we paid for. I've been here plenty of times and every time we come, we have a pleasant experience with service and the food. Typically go on Thursday nights and it's not all that busy so it works out for us. We usually are sat within the first 10 mins if not, immediately when we enter. Our waitresses are always very friendly and attentive. Tony s has by far the BEST pizza in Bakersfield. The cheese they use is a dry mozzarella that is to die for! They also have other items on the menu that are also cooked to perfection. Ordered NY steak medium rare... Got it well done. same thing with friend of mine, who was sitting right on the front of me. it is about the food... Charging experience for ev vehicles. I did Scan the code of station, and connector didn't feat. Moved to other one, which feat my tesla.FOR 1.5 hours I was there, charged 6% and charged my wallet for over $7. After few days, I noticed additional charge of $40 from Tony's charger station. I dispute it and got money back. After few days, I can see another charge of $40 on my card... What is going on Tony? It's been awhile. We had OUTSTANDING service from a waitress we haven't had before. Her name was Sam. Friendly, informative, interactive. We orders 4 side salads. Excellent portions. 2 pizzas Hawaiian and Tony's combo. Pizza were very good. Didn't have to ask for drink refills our waitress Sam was on top of it. I was a regular at Tony's on 178, I live in the general area. Yesterday 02/10/2026 I stopped at their restaurant for lunch. I asked for confirmation on the roll used for their French Dip sandwich that was on the menu. The waitress confirmed it was a "regular " hoagie roll, I ordered and the sandwich was delivered with some sort of cheese infused bread. I roundly refused the order and asked for a patty melt as a replacement. The new sandwich was delivered and I thanked the waitress for exchanging. The table I sat at had low light (high top bar area). I noticed the sandwich had some red in it. I thought how odd to put tomatoes on a patty melt, but took a few bites anyway. I noticed that the bread was cold and soggy on the bottom. I lit the sandwich up with my I phone and discovered the meat was RAW. I notified the waitress and she agreed hat the meat was indeed raw. I asked for someone in management, she informed me hat no one was available, but they would "comp" my order except for my beverage ( a beer). I wrote my contact info down and requested someone in authority to contact me.... I paid for my beer and left the waitress an excellent tip... the issues were not her fault. I have waited 24 hours. No call. I was ill with "digestive issues" all night. My thought is the cook was mad because I returned the original order. I hope he didn't further taint my food. Sad situation. read more

Tony's Firehouse Grill is a great spot. One side of the restaurant is a large pizza area with Tony's outstanding pizza, wings, and salad bar. On the other hand is Tony's firehouse Grill, which offers traditional American fare. Breakfast is served 7-noon. We were there for dinner and ordered the best tritip sandwich ever! On a grilled ciabatta roll, it was piled with delicious meat and Swiss cheese. I enjoyed a wonderful fried chicken salad loaded with deviled egg, olives, red onion, and avocado. It was delicious and enough for two meals! If you like a bar, Tony's offers a full service bar and ice cold beer. There's something for everyone here! read more

Yay! A pizza review!! This place was highly recommended to us and it didn't disappoint. The pie was hot enough to burn your face off. The crust was a little thicker than we like and doughy, HOWEVER, that didn't kill it. The crust was still wonderful. Sweet and crunchy in the middle like a good hand toss is supposed to be. They were a little skimpy on the sauce, but what I could taste was not too bad. The cheese was not a cheap mozzarella it was stringy and stayed stringy and was not salty which is awesome. The supreme has huge chunks of sausage, bell peppers, onions and mushrooms they did not scrimp on those toppings and it was delicious. One word of warning, if you want more than pizza be careful what side of the restaurant you sit on. Other than that this place lived up to the hype. This place is huge and can accommodate everyone. Went in on 11-3-24 around 11:00. There looked to be plenty of seatings but the hostess refused to seat us. After waiting 15 minutes we asked to speak to the manager who was not at all professional. The manager claimed we had another 10 minutes to wait. My uncle stated we were going to leave then she stated "perfect". We will never go there again. We went there once a week. read more

We stay away from Tony's. We could never get service and when we did someone usually me would get a plate of garbage. BUT Our neighbor brought over a Tony's Pizza. I have to admit it was pretty good, much better than Me and Ed's. It was expensive like everything at Tony's but we didn't pay. This was a fun stop for us on the way back from CALM. There are 2 sections inside: a pizza and games side and a full restaurant side with plenty of tables and booths. We sat in the restaurant side because the pizza side wasn't open yet (about 20 more minutes til it opened), but we were still able to put in our pizza order and be served there. We ordered a medium gluten free Chile Verde pizza, a small cheese pizza, and potato skins. I absolutely loved the pizza. It's my new favorite. So much chile verde with a little bit of spiciness. Stopped in a few weeks back after driving past here every couple of weekends for years. This particular day they were short handed on staff and the service was borderline acceptable. The potato skins were average. The daughters cheese pizza was surprisingly good and had a sweet buttery taste to it. Tge wife ordered a gluten free Chili Verde pizza. The toppings had good flavor and the wife really liked it, for me the crust was a little too crunchy but that's kinda common with GF crusts in general. read more

I visited this Tony's Firehouse recently for a birthday party and this one looked bigger than all the other Tony's I've visited. This Firehouse even looks nicer than the one in Delano. The downfall is that it's super far away, but it's a nice family setting. They have a small arcade area for the kids and they have tons of tables at this location. If you're gonna have a birthday party, you don't really need to reserve the party room unless you want that privacy because you can just grab a table as long as it's not reserved. This actually is the same at all the Tony's locations. My son wanted a little birthday party here, so we came earlier to celebrate his 22nd birthday and the staff was really friendly. Pizzas came out hot and delicious. One thing I was surprised about was the chicken wings. They were actually really good. The ones I remember from Delano is just okay, but the ones from this location was better. Parking is not an issue at all. The facility was super clean and I didn't really see people wearing masks except the workers and a few people dining in. This place is quite expensive for an overall just average meal. The restaurant looks clean, quite large and has games for kids to play. Bizarre that they don't have a kids menu. The service is decent. I would say I'd eat here on a regular basis if they either brought the prices down to match the quality of food, or brought the quality of food up to warrant the high prices. I mean, they could at least include soup or salad with the entrees; that's a start. Update: something we ate gave us stomach issues the day after. Our daughter seemed fine, but mommy and I both have been frequenting the toilet and I have felt slightly nauseous all day. We shared the potato skins, chips and salsa and a bit of lasagna, so it could have been any one of those.
