Love Tony's. It is one of the original Bakersfield restaurants. It was started by my friend's dad who is a long time fire fighter in Bakersfield. That is why you will see all kind of firefighter memorabilia's around. The concept is straight forward, great pizza, great chicken/wings, potato wedges, and beer. The servers were wonderful and very helpful. The place is blue collar family pizzeria vibe. I hate to leave bad reviews and rarely do it! We had picked Tony's because we do like the pizza. But I have to say I was disappointed with this location when on a Friday night my group of 10 people made a last-minute decision to go out to dinner and we were turned away. Of course, we wanted to sit together as we are family, and when there were no tables to seat our party, we asked to use one of the party rooms, it was later in the evening, and no other parties were booked. While the girl at the counter was pleasant, she didn't make any effort to encourage us to dine in. Our party stood in the lobby trying to figure out if we should stay so we asked about the party room. She simply said that we needed a reservation for the room. So I asked, "Can we make a reservation then?" At this point I feel like I'm trying to talk her into allowing us to eat there! She said it had to be 24 hour notice... I said "What if we don't make a mess?", but it didn't sway her. She did apologize, but didn't mind us leaving. We're a party of 10 standing in the lobby, I don't understand why it was OK to turn away a minimum of $250 party. We went to Round table and spent nearly $300. I suppose it was their revenue loss for that night, but it also makes it more likely we'll chose a place that wants our business next time. read more

Tried this place for the first time and wouldn't recommend. However, I will give it another chance in hopes that it is better the second time around. We spent $38.42 on a small pepperoni pizza ($11.20+$1.96 topping), 8pm chicken wings ($11.50), small drink ($1.99), one ranch ($.75), and breadsticks ($7.50.) I feel the prices are reasonable and affordable. The pepperoni pizza was delicious! However, our wings and breadsticks were disgusting. We were unable to eat them. The breadsticks were very undercooked, very doughy on the inside and you could only taste yeast. The chicken wings were mushy and full of fat. Celebrated a birthday party here the 1st weekend of February for my youngest who became an adult and we had a birthday walk-in. We grabbed 2 long tables and before even sitting they weren't even cleaned. No one was there prior to us grabbing the tables so not sure if they couldn't clean them because they were busy in the back. There were a lot of employees behind the counter so not sure if they were all filling orders and cooking. No big deal... we wiped them down ourselves. We got there just before 5pm and left right before 8pm, so about 3hrs. We have celebrated several birthday parties at different locations and mainly the ones in Delano since we are originally from there and never in all the years has Tony's has told us we couldn't use their restrooms. We literally spent more than $500 just on pizza and they didn't even allow my almost 80yr old mom use the restroom. We had to walk over to Starbucks to use their restroom. I have celebrated so many birthdays at Tony's and even recommended Tony's over other pizza places and now I'm regretting it. Yes, pizza was good and pizza is quite expensive these days, but I can't get over a pizza place not allowing their customers to use the restroom. I can understand if it was just pickup, but we sat there and dined in. I would not recommend this place to anyone thinking of a future birthday party. Unless they all plan to wear diapers or walk to Starbucks to pee. Staff wasn't friendly either which was quite shocking. Usually staff is helpful and nice, but I felt like we were getting stared at since we stayed longer than an hour or maybe because the elderly and kids needed to use the toilet. After a mistake was made and I received half my order and half someone else's. I spoke with Ava and she offered to replace my whole order, instead of just the incorrect pizza. This was my first time dining inside Tony's. The place was family friendly with games and tvs playing football games. Once you come inside, you'll see you order on your right and pay then grab a seat/table of your liking. We took a booth that seated 3 teenagers, an 4ft tall child, and me. I was surprised that it sat us all comfortably cause I'm a thicc girl... Let me tell you about the food.... YUM!!!!! This was my first time experiencing the Chile Verde Pizza (that's me as an emoji) Where have you been my whole life???? It had the right amount of heat and still taste all the goodness from the Chile Verde. I am in awe how this combination works! I'm a traditionalist on pizza... pepperoni, olives. mushrooms ... but this Pizza!!!! Whew!!! Sooo delish ... My kids even ate the crust... they said it's the best crust he has ever tasted. The food here is amazing! Their wings are very flavorful, perfectly fried and are a good size. The pizzas have a nice balance of sauce to topping ratio and I loved how soft and buttery their breadsticks are! We ordered delivery and it came pretty fast considering how late it was. Unbelievable! We've had our fantasy football draft at this place Ming and Ashe,,the last few years. This year we were told they don't accept FFB drafts any longer, but we already had a deposit on the room. My fiancé and I have been ordering from Tony's for years and will probably not be doing so from this point. It seemed like the kids working there tonight were too busy either talking or trying to get the kitchen cleaned up so they could leave early. We did a pick up order that I'm assuming they forgot about because he had to wait at Tony's for close to 30 minutes before our pizza was out. They forgot to make breadsticks for us so then they proceeded to take some from another group's order. When we got home we realized the pizza was cold, the breadsticks were dough in the middle, and the side of marinara was fresh out of the refrigerator. I saw another comment mentioning back in 2018 that the pizza gave them and their family fevers. I had the pizza about two days ago and it gave me night vomiting and diarrhea as well and I thought maybe it just ate too much contrary to only having two slices of pizza and 2 breadsticks. Again today I had some more pizza and a breadstick thinking I just had too much the other day but today as well I wake up in the middle of the night vomiting and feeling horrible that's all I had eaten both days and yesterday I had completely different food and had no issues at all. The Best pizza! We ordered a pepperoni black olive and pineapple pizza. It was great! Something special about the taste of the pizza that makes it better than other brands. It took a little longer than expected when we ordered but it was a Saturday and it was worth the wait! Everything about this pizza is great! We forgot to take pictures of the pizza. My order was only a medium pizza and I was charged someone else's order and their total was $81 so they fixed it but the reimbursement is not going to go through until next week. The large pizza was $30 and then they charged me .55 cents when I used my card. You think for $30 you could get a good pizza and be able to pay for it without getting charged for paying.
