I had a random chance encounter with the owner in Albertsons the other day and he was so kind and sweet. He caught me off guard when he asked if I eat Rusty's pizza because instead of saying "Of course! Best pizza in town!" I just said yes. Anyway, like I said, it really is the best in town and it's just nice to know that all the years spent enjoying their pies, have also been spent supporting the business of a straight up solid guy. Thank you, Jay! read more

We were in Bakersfield for a road trip and decided to try Rusty's. It was definitely a hole-in-the-wall pizza place with a mini arcade and a decent amount of seating. We ordered a pepperoni pineapple/pepperoni jalepeño pizza and jalapeño cheese bread. The wait time was incredibly slow for our pizza, we waited about 20-30 minutes for our pizza. The pizza was okay, nothing too crazy. Not sure if we will be returning. read more

Pizza is pretty much good except this time. I don't how to order this any better through their online system. We always get a combo. One half no olives and the other half no mushrooms. Not sure why they can't follow the picture on the order. We end up with Olives and mushrooms on the same side and nothing on the other. Santa Barbara Pizza is just as bad. read more

Kylee and Jessica are the Best cooks of all the Rusty's in Bakersfield. Their attention to detail is nothing less than excellent. I appreciate their service and professionalism. The Restaurant is always clean and smells clean. Their sandwiches double toasted Veggie Sub is like a Philly cheese Steak without the meat. I added photos of the sub, i opened it so you all could see the greatness. Thank you Rusty's! The Rusty's on Bernard Street cross street Union! read more

Always the BEST pizza!! An every Friday dinner choice for me n my boys! Delicious. On time delivery and they always send you bday wishes.

To my community do not spend your hard earn $$$ where they shame Elder/Dependance Adult for using the Handi Cap access for no more than 20 to 30 min waiting on my son to get out of school . Iam suffering from a very rare spinach Cord. Condition and the owner lady felt she had to shame a disabled father waiting for his 9 yr old son. I have bought food from this Establishment when school began we enjoy pizza and chicken. This owner now has parked her own Personal vehicle breaking her own Moral code of conduct . This Was her argument when she shame me for my disablitiy and using Handi Cap parking. Boycott Rüsty. They don't put a dime back in our community if we can't even use the handi Cap provided outside their business. Sad Times we are in alot of Phariseeses in our community. We must take a stand. read more

Great customer service patient with you on your order and the pizza was oh so good...

We've been going to the location on Ming and Ashe and have enjoyed the pizza and salads until yesterday (8/24/25) the service and the food was not good. First the person who took our order could barely hear so we had to repeat ourselves several times and while we were waiting for our order my mother asked if they could turn on the TV to watch the Dodger game and their reply was "We'll have to ask the manager" and they didn't go anywhere to ask anybody anything, this happened with 2 different employees. When we asked them if they were going to ask the manager their reply was "No one asks us to turn on the TV, you're the first person to ask us to turn the TV on" followed by "The manager is too busy" which my girlfriend replied "If you dont want to turn it on then just simply say that you dont want to do that for your customers" and of course the younger worker complained that he hates working with old people and just kept on complaining and arguing with my girlfriend about it. This guy just wouldn't shut up about it and said that he doesn't have to deal with her attitude. My girlfriend told him to just shut up because he wouldn't stop. Finally he shut up and still kept on pitching to his coworkers about it and of course we could still hear him. My girlfriend got a salad fro. The salad bar and the salad bar was not stocked up like it usually is so there weren't too much toppings on her salad. Then they brought out some pizzas that weren't ours and of course we didn't accept them. Finally a little bit later they brought out our pizza which wasn't cooked enough due to it being a deep dish crust and it didn't taste as good as we had gotten on our previous trips there. We still ate it because we didn't want to hear anymore whining from that kid. We just ate and left. We will not be returning to this restaurant because of all that occurred on this occasion. All in all we spent just over 40.00 for a medium pizza with a salad and 2 drinks. The drinks were medium size and were 5.00 each so you might want to bring going your own. We should have went to the pizza parlor that's closer to the house. There I paid 50.00 for a medium pizza with 2 orders of wings with wedge potatoes and 2 drinks and no attitude. If I could give a negative rating because of this experience I would. read more

Overpriced . Not really worth 30 bucks plus tip for a pizza at all. When winco makes a better pizza something is seriously wrong

3/5 stars because service was nice, however the food wasn't. An undercooked thin-crust pepperoni pizza with bell peppers and jalapenos. This meal tasted alright in its first bite, after repositioning the disheveled toppings back onto each piece. In the image, you can see a pizza but you can't feel how COLD it is unless you were here. It arrived slightly warm, cheese not melted looking but more so congealed. Will not be coming back. For $40, I could've had my favorite food (a tri-tip sandwich combo from Salty's BBQ, who have literally never let me down, unlike Rusty's) Overall they are gouging customers for mid-tier pizza and they need to either be honest and make it cheaper or make the pizza more appetizing and less off-putting. P.S. the potato wedges came basically uncooked, so we had to throw them in the oven. They still tasted boring. Back to the drawing board, guys... read more

Rustys pizza is always a delicious pie the crust is crunchy on the outside and soft n tasty inside.

This Rustys is the bomb! Why you might ask?? Consistency! Consistently awesomely, tasty food. Consistent great service. Consistently making me want to come back for more and more Rustys! All of the employees go above and beyond. Make sure you leave satisfied. Hook you up with plates, napkins, utensils and sauces. they don't mickle and dime for sauces/ condiments. Which I love, if You spend $30 bucks on pizza you should have to be charged for silly things like Parmesan and ranch like other places in this city! Delivery. Carry out. Dining area with tv. Could be used for a party/event. Rustys, 5 stars! read more

Quick and friendly service, and some of the best pizza I've had. I was stranded in Bakersfield with a car problem after visiting my fiance at WSP. The pizza craving was real. Rusy's was near my motel and we don't have them in OC so what the hell. I got a small, thin crust (an excellent suggestion from the young woman behind the counter), pepperoni, mushroom, and pineapple (I don't want to hear about it) pizza and brought it back to the Vagabond Inn. With a little parmesan, crushed peppers, and static-ridden HGTV... I was highly impressed and couldn't keep myself from reaching for another slice... like 5 times. It was about $15 for a small pizza that left me with one leftover slice in the morning, but it was worth it to me. I will definitely be back, but hopefully not because I'm trapped in Bakersfield. Having to visit my fiance in prison is bad enough. Now I have to go leave some bad reviews for the rest of this "vacation." read more

Me n Ed vs Rusty' s Pizza. Ed's thick crust better tasting. With crispy bottom and tender elsewheres. Rusty crust too bread tasting. "Flour like". Rusty sausage all looks same. Prefab? Not lively or that TASTY. Rusty's pepperoni good, sause just OK. Me n Eds grrrrreat! All around. And sause is super. Memorable. And brings me Big Big Big smile. My Taste buds. I hate generic preFab sausage. Try both places. See for yourself. You Tummy deserves to be JOY'D Its pass 2pm afternoon. This was my breakfast lunch. Ate less than half. Oh. The wedge fried was lukewarm likely taken from just under the warming lights. . read more

From out of town, needed a recommendation for a good, quality pizza. The front desk of our hotel recommended Rusty's from this location. I am always one who likes to ask referrals, read reviews prior to purchasing so I do not waste cash. I should have found someplace on line myself. The Good - the driver was friendly and the service door to door was quick. Loved the jalapenos and pineapple addition option to our veggie pizza at no extra charge. Load that baby up! The staff was nice enough to throw in plates and packets of chilis and cheese, napkins as well knowing we were without comforts of home. The Bad - the pie was barely warm and the thin crust we had ordered tasted like unseasoned cardboard. The veg topping was OK but a little sparse for the steep price. Cheese, meh. I repeat, steep price. $23 for a med. veggie with a cold pizza sauce on the side and nothing else, no drinks even. We did not even eat the pizza sauce actually, as that was thrown into our box straight from their fridge. Gross, not a nice dipping experience. $23 for what we received - NYC pricing? We were really hungry and hoping for good things from our first Bako pizza. Will not order from them again nor recommend. read more

WE have been ordering Rustys for 15 years. today I received an incorrect order. i had a staff waiting to eat and because the lack of customer service and respect for customers they basically said tough luck. they did not want to discount for the incorrect order and wanted us to wait another 45-1 hour to give us the salads and pizza they failed to get right the first time. They charged us $75 for incorrect order. Horrible customer service. read more

I have a friend who stays by here, so I come by to get pizza to go frequently. The pizza is always ready within five minutes of when they have said it would be ready. The pizza is good, but the Centennial or meat lover's tends to be greasy. Have eaten in a couple of times, there is a side room to the left with sports on a large maybe 65 inch tv. This one does not have the fancy drink dispenser that Ming has, but not a big deal if you want 6 to 10 basic drinks. Maybe a little sketchy area, but the parking allows you to see your vehicle. I would add a star, but this (and any Rusty's) is expensive. A medium pizza (8 small slices) two non alcohol drinks $24. I have a hard time justifying it. read more
