Over all we have been going to Rusty's for 30 years but tonight broke the camels back I ordered a rusty special without olives and the cost was 37 dollars last week with olives was 32 dollars so I asked for the olives they charged me for and they wouldn't do it I asked for a ranch they said they would charge me for that also Business practice are horrible Last time spending our hard earned money on the franchises. read more

We've been going to the location on Ming and Ashe and have enjoyed the pizza and salads until yesterday (8/24/25) the service and the food was not good. First the person who took our order could barely hear so we had to repeat ourselves several times and while we were waiting for our order my mother asked if they could turn on the TV to watch the Dodger game and their reply was "We'll have to ask the manager" and they didn't go anywhere to ask anybody anything, this happened with 2 different employees. When we asked them if they were going to ask the manager their reply was "No one asks us to turn on the TV, you're the first person to ask us to turn the TV on" followed by "The manager is too busy" which my girlfriend replied "If you dont want to turn it on then just simply say that you dont want to do that for your customers" and of course the younger worker complained that he hates working with old people and just kept on complaining and arguing with my girlfriend about it. This guy just wouldn't shut up about it and said that he doesn't have to deal with her attitude. My girlfriend told him to just shut up because he wouldn't stop. Finally he shut up and still kept on pitching to his coworkers about it and of course we could still hear him. My girlfriend got a salad fro. The salad bar and the salad bar was not stocked up like it usually is so there weren't too much toppings on her salad. Then they brought out some pizzas that weren't ours and of course we didn't accept them. Finally a little bit later they brought out our pizza which wasn't cooked enough due to it being a deep dish crust and it didn't taste as good as we had gotten on our previous trips there. We still ate it because we didn't want to hear anymore whining from that kid. We just ate and left. We will not be returning to this restaurant because of all that occurred on this occasion. All in all we spent just over 40.00 for a medium pizza with a salad and 2 drinks. The drinks were medium size and were 5.00 each so you might want to bring going your own. We should have went to the pizza parlor that's closer to the house. There I paid 50.00 for a medium pizza with 2 orders of wings with wedge potatoes and 2 drinks and no attitude. This meal tasted alright in its first bite, after repositioning the disheveled toppings back onto each piece. In the image, you can see a pizza but you can't feel how COLD it is unless you were here. It arrived slightly warm, cheese not melted looking but more so congealed. Will not be coming back. For $40, I could've had my favorite food (a tri-tip sandwich combo from Salty's BBQ, who have literally never let me down, unlike Rusty's) Overall they are gouging customers for mid-tier pizza and they need to either be honest and make it cheaper or make the pizza more appetizing and less off-putting. Quick and friendly service, and some of the best pizza I've had. I was stranded in Bakersfield with a car problem after visiting my fiance at WSP. The pizza craving was real. Rusy's was near my motel and we don't have them in OC so what the hell. I got a small, thin crust (an excellent suggestion from the young woman behind the counter), pepperoni, mushroom, and pineapple (I don't want to hear about it) pizza and brought it back to the Vagabond Inn. With a little parmesan, crushed peppers, and static-ridden HGTV... I was highly impressed and couldn't keep myself from reaching for another slice... like 5 times. It was about $15 for a small pizza that left me with one leftover slice in the morning, but it was worth it to me. I will definitely be back, but hopefully not because I'm trapped in Bakersfield. From out of town, needed a recommendation for a good, quality pizza. The front desk of our hotel recommended Rusty's from this location. I am always one who likes to ask referrals, read reviews prior to purchasing so I do not waste cash. I should have found someplace on line myself. The Good - the driver was friendly and the service door to door was quick. Loved the jalapenos and pineapple addition option to our veggie pizza at no extra charge. Load that baby up! The staff was nice enough to throw in plates and packets of chilis and cheese, napkins as well knowing we were without comforts of home. The Bad - the pie was barely warm and the thin crust we had ordered tasted like unseasoned cardboard. The veg topping was OK but a little sparse for the steep price. Cheese, meh. I repeat, steep price. $23 for a med. veggie with a cold pizza sauce on the side and nothing else, no drinks even. We did not even eat the pizza sauce actually, as that was thrown into our box straight from their fridge. Gross, not a nice dipping experience. $23 for what we received - NYC pricing? WE have been ordering Rustys for 15 years. today I received an incorrect order. i had a staff waiting to eat and because the lack of customer service and respect for customers they basically said tough luck. they did not want to discount for the incorrect order and wanted us to wait another 45-1 hour to give us the salads and pizza they failed to get right the first time. I have a friend who stays by here, so I come by to get pizza to go frequently. The pizza is always ready within five minutes of when they have said it would be ready. The pizza is good, but the Centennial or meat lover's tends to be greasy. Have eaten in a couple of times, there is a side room to the left with sports on a large maybe 65 inch tv. This one does not have the fancy drink dispenser that Ming has, but not a big deal if you want 6 to 10 basic drinks. Maybe a little sketchy area, but the parking allows you to see your vehicle. I would add a star, but this (and any Rusty's) is expensive. A medium pizza (8 small slices) two non alcohol drinks $24. I have a hard time justifying it. read more
