They have the perfect crunch and fall off the bone while melting in your mouth. I added the wings to my order on a whim and will be back very soon specifically for the wings. Their pizza is delicious and filling. On my most recent trip I ordered the spicy chicken pizza with pineapple. I know, controversial additional topping. But what's not controversial is how delicious and filling every pizza from Flame's Pizza always is. Even the crust is noteworthily scrumptious. From their classic pizzas to their "Flamelicious Pizzas", all are worth trying. Especially their Indian style pizzas. I've been having fun working through their menu. Their portion sizes are strong and I always end up having plenty of leftovers, which I am always hoping for when grabbing pizza and wings. They have great ranch and do not skimp. I went with the small ranch that came with my chicken wings and was very impressed with the amount of ranch provided, an important metric for true wing and pizza lovers. Bro! Okay so we stopped by on our way back home (Riverside) from Yosemite. AND OMG, the pizza was incredible. The cheese was cheesing. The jalapeños were jalapeñoing. The buffalo wings were good too! Saw the good ratings on Yelp at this local pizza spot on town and I had to come give them a try as a PIZZA LOVER. I'm happy I came on by to try them out. Placed a takeout order on a weekend afternoon and my food was ready in 30 minutes. Paid about $35-$40 bucks for a small two topping pizza with a 3 pc chicken and 6 pc wedges and a side of ranch. Chicken and wedges were really good. Greasy, but that was expected. The pizza was loaded with toppings which I really appreciated. Pizza was amazing, very flavorful and great quality ingredients were used. Very good solid pizza. Overall, I would definitely reccomend Flames Pizza next time you are looking to grab some pizza. Walked in right when the store opened. The mats and outside chairs and tables were not set up. The only worker there was an older man and he was kind enough to start my order. It was a good 30 minutes before help arrived and between that, there were two other customers that had to wait for service. Ordered the large special that came with one topping XL pizza, chicken, potato logs, and a liter of soda. I paid extra for an additiomal topping. The pizza tasted great but needed a handful more of the toppings to suffice. Sadly the chicken and logs were flavorless, came out fresh none the less but needed to drench them in ketchup / ranch. We recently ordered the girls pizza from here and it was pretty good. I didn't even know this place existed until my husband told me about it. We opted to do curbside since we were in a rush and service was good. It was longer than we anticipated, but we do know that we ordered during lunch rush so it was no big deal. When we visited there were other customers also picking up and doing curbside as well and lots of customers going in and out of the restaurant. This is a good sign that the pizzas are fresh and that the pizzas are good since people are coming. When the lady came to give us our curbside order she was super friendly. I would love to try other options here. I'm not the biggest pizza fan, but my husband and boys love pizza so finding another pizza place is always a plus for us. Terrible service received from this place and their owner! I was a regular customer and now they have lost all my future business! I placed my simple online order at 11:23am. I arrived over an hour later to an empty lobby. Not one customer in sight, just an employee sitting down. He looked confused when I told him I placed an order for pick up. They hadn't even started to make my order! The man at the counter did not acknowledge the mistake, just said it would take 7 minutes? When I told him that my order was placed online over an hour ago, his response was, "Well you should have called instead." Absolutely zero accountability and extremely rude attitude. He said he was the owner and that his name was Raj. He had no apologies that they dropped the ball, nor any form of compensation. I asked for a refund and left. Extremely dissatisfied and will not return. I do not recommend Flames pizza due to their terrible customer service. Zero stars read more

Happened to be driving by when I saw this place and decided to stop and give them a try. I ordered a pepperoni and pineapple pizza. Place was nice and had the games on. Nice place to hang out and watch the games. Staff was cheerful and helpful in making recommendations. Pizza came out quick and was so delicious. Crust was nice as was the entire pizza. I swore I already reviewed this place but Yelp is telling me otherwise. This place has been multiple things but I think Flames is staying for good. Typical pizza place with takeout, delivery and ordering in. They have several seating options inside. It almost reminds you of an older FiveGuys on the Interior, with the stark white. It is very clean. It's another one of Bakersfield 50/50 pizza joints. Half Indian inspired pizza and half American. They basically have two menus because of this. I'd recommend any of their Indian inspired pizzas. They have almost the perfect chewy crust, which I believe American style pizza should have. Their American options are also very good and they don't skimp on the toppings. If you haven't tried the Indian inspired pizzas it is a must try if you are looking for something new. I believe they can go to a hotter level if you're the daring type. I have heard the same family owns another pizza place in town but they might actually be competitors. One of the top choices for pizza in Bakersfield. Top 5 for sure. read more

Flame's had an easy order online system, only $2 delivery fee, as well as, classic and unique pizza options. For our first time, we did basic bites: a Pepperoni Pizza and a Combination Pizza. I'd love to try the Spicy Paneer or Pastrami Lovers Pizzas next time. They sounded really interesting! I thought the pizza was well-made. The crust was thicker than I expected ~ very spongy and chewy. I would have liked more of a crunch but their style worked with their levels of sauce to cheese to toppings. In fact, I really appreciated how well the toppings were dispersed on the pizza. Whoever made our pizza, ensured that we'd get a bit of every topping in each bite. My first time trying this and I got the most unappologetically poor service that I cannot recommend this place to anyone. I placed an online order and paid at 4:30, the site said it would be ready at 5pm. My wife showed up a few minutes after 5pm and sent my teenage daughter in, who was told the order wasn't ready yet and it would be another 15 minutes. My wife and daughter waited in the car and my daughter went back in at 5:20 and was told it would be another 20 minutes. My wife decided to go in and, while she was waiting in line several other people were complaining about not getting their food on time. One lady in front of her came in and prepaid at 2:30pm for a party and when she arrived at 5:30 to pick it up, was told she would need to wait another 15 minutes. Once my wife got to the front of the line, the person there said that the reason for the delay was the chicken ... except we didn't order any chicken. When my wife mentioned that, then it was that we ordered garlic cheesy bread. These people just spit out excuses as quick as they can think them up. We didn't get our food until about 5:45 and there was no apology, no discount, no coupon for some deal in the future, absolutely no recognition at how poor of an experience they had delivered. This place has really good reviews, but if you read, you'll see a some mentions that they're offering free garlic bread for 5 star reviews, so take them with a grain of salt. The pizza is decent, but it is pricey and the service is terrible. If not for the incredibly poor service, I probably would've been between 3-4 stars. read more

Found this on yelp, and was a little concerned based on the up and down reviews recently, but it was in the Trader Joe's parking lot so proximity won. Really glad we chose it. Amazing deal, 2 1 topping mediums for $24.99, the pizza is really solid. Good crust, sauce is good, good cheese pull, for me, the right ratio of toppings and cheese. And the shining star for me personally is the garlic cheese bread. It reminds me almost exactly of a cheesy garlic bread I used to be able to get in the Bay Area before the location closed a few years ago. The Good: Friendly customer service. Clean looking sitting area. The Not-so-good: The crust is not made from fresh dough. This is a manufactured pizza crust, and is thick and dry. They do NOT make their own dough which is sad, because it's so easy to do that. Almost NO sauce on the pizza. It seems that they are trying to save money by not using the amount of sauce necessary for such a thick crust. The pizza does not have enough cheese. It was very, very dry. We could only eat two slices because it was so dry and tasteless. This is our second time eating at Flame's pizza and both times have not disappointed. The first time we ordered the specialty pastrami pizza (large) and it was so amazing, the crust is cooked perfectly, not too dense. The price is also pretty good (larges are all $22.99)They have specials, like family bundles and a lunch special, which is nice. We also ordered wedges and a kids pepperoni and all my picky eater kids loved the food as well. The second time I ordered the chicken combination (Indian style). This pizza was also delicious. The garlic cream sauce was so good and again the crust was cooked to perfection. They also have amazing ranch dressing! Everyone that we interacted with both times were extremely nice and helpful. This is like, one of the few places in town that I know sells slices of pizza, and it's not that cruddy congealed stuff that's been sitting out for too long, no, the food actually tastes fresh. At first I was a bit bothered that there wasn't any pepperoni or combo laying out on the slice tray, but they had these slices of something with juicy tomatoes, chicken, mushrooms, and I think garlic? I was considering picking up a large pie of that exact slice it was that good; they popped my cherry for good pizza toppings. You could actually taste every ingredient, wasn't all covered up by sauce and cheese, though both the sauce and cheese are great. The service is good too, I only ever come there when it's empty, but the people are always polite and VERY attentive. I do wish they wouldn't watch me when I'm looking at the menu before I order... though that's a very considerable thing for them to do and I like em for it. I do like the layout of the place, though I'm no interior designer I just think the one TV they have dedicated to aesthetic pictures of pizza is funny. read more

Well with this being my 1st time trying this place it really delivered. Always love finding new pizza spots. Fantastic pizza has crazy good flavor and the presentation looked incredible. Only interacted with one employee and he was super friendly so I'd say my service experience was great. I wasn't able to see the inside of the place cause I had a curbside pickup.
