I have to preface this review with Slicers being one of the top places for New York style pizzas in Bakersfield. Not many places can make a sturdy thin slice, with a done undercarriage and to pack as much of flavor as possible into a slice. Definitely worth the drive from anywhere in town, to grab one, two or even three pizzas. I'll reiterate that this is top tier pizza. Quality ingredients, made right and cooked to perfection. Spoke to whoever runs their social media and social called about specialty pizzas, which they created on the spot (Seen in the pictures I posted). When ordered over the phone, they were very helpful with sizes of pizzas and sides and how many each of them serve. The restaurant itself is equipped to serve mainly takeout. They have seating outside but it's very limited. The overall atmosphere is busy and loud, with sports always playing on their tv's. The restaurant is super clean and ready for pickups. Make sure to ask for ranch, especially when you order two large orders of wedges and forget the ranch. Overall, we will be returning for pizza and trying different variations of their pizzas. I finally made it to Slicers for their lunch special and tell me why it felt like I just cracked the code! Two massive slices of pizza and a bottled soda for $11! It's seriously the kind of meal that is so satisfying that can send you straight into a food comma. The menu was great and to add some 'sason' they had the Benny Blanco! Yum! It had white sauce, sausage, pepperoni, and those little pops of red onion the flavor jammed packed. The other option was the Rocky Balboa, fresh, garlicky, basil goodness that makes you feel like you made a responsible yet delicious life choice. It was tasty, and giving exactly what it needed to give. To the point where my coworkers & students were eying the pizza like, "let me get a slice!" but you only have two and their is just no way you can share that! Safe to say, we're not done here. Round two is definitely happening real soon with more people, more slices, and zero regrets! In the beginning this use to be our favorite Pizza in Bakersfield but over the last few times we've been the Pizza and service has been marginal. First off 80% of time I can get anyone to answer the phone. I would get a recording to leave a message. Since I was out I decided to stop by. I could hear the music from the parking lot. I walked in and the music was booming. Now I know why they didn't answer. The pizza just isn't the same as it was in the beginning. Ordered a 20" pepperoni and order of wedges for $46 to take back to work for my coworkers and I. Pros: wedges have a lot of flavor and tasted good. Pizza tasted good. Employees are nice Cons: myself and one of my coworkers got an uncooked wedge. Also, I was nauseous for 2 days after eating this for dinner. I've rated Slicer's before and I will continue to stay consistent with my praise for them. They are the closest thing to NY style pizza you're going to find short of going to NYC itself. This was some good pizza! I should have tried everything else but I was on a mission to try as many foods all over Bakersfield. We went for the 16' pizza for hubby and me. He wanted pepperoni and ricotta and I added pineapple to my half because I can't have it any other way. It was ready at a respectable time that tells me it was fresh but not too long, approximately 15 minutes or less. Looks like a to go place only which we didn't mind, as we always like to go home (in this case our airbnb) put on our show while we eat. The pizza was so good!! We went for the bigger size pizza because we wanted leftovers. There were no left overs. It's not like we ate it all in one seating. I'm sure it could have fed a family. We just really enjoyed it and kept going back for a slice for the rest of the day. Even cold it was so good and not chewy like other pizza get once not warm. Solid pizza. I'd say they are better than some other the places that have been around for awhile. The owners are friendly. I had the alotta ricotta and it's very good. You can drizzle some honey on it to elevate it just a bit if that's your thing. The garlic chicken is very good. I love the touch of sesame seeds. It gives it a nice texture. The wedges are fine. You probably don't need them unless you're very hungry. I love the variety and the ability to get a single serving slice Be sure to call and verify they are open before you drive over. Price $8 for a slice of pepperoni and a bottle drink. Tucked in a strip mall on the east side this little shop has decent pizza. Popped in Saturday and got 2 slices which came with 2 pops and add a tip $18. That might sound a bit pricey but the slice is easily 2 pieces of crispy pepperoni that was not greasy. Fairly quick (if I had wanted a custom slice I would have had to wait 15 minutes). I will be going back for a quick bite. read more

Delicious New York Style Pizza! I've never been to New York but when I imagine their pizza, Slicers comes to mind. We love to get the Extra Large and my kids get such a kick out of the giant slices. The ingredients are always fresh, and the service is always above and beyond. We also get a garden salad every time we order and I love the crisp refreshing textures and flavors. Super simple yet super flavorful. I hope this place never goes away because it's always a hit. read more

Out of the gate, it's one of very few pizza joints around these parts that offer Ricotta Cheese, and their signature Alotta Ricotta pizza is everything I wanted: Pepperoni, Meatball and Ricotta Cheese. The pizza is absolutely amazing. As someone that loves New York style and has tried what bakersfield has to offer, Slicers is clearly above the rest. From the freshly grated cheese, to the homemade tomato sauce, you can taste the quality. The crust and dough have a perfect balance of thickness and crunchiness. The owner mentioned that making pizza has been in the family for generations, and you can definitely tell. Do yourselves a favor and give this place a shot, you won't regret it. The picture shown was the first time I went when I ordered a slice. It was really good but the owner really urged me to try the full pizza next time to get the best experience. He was very right.
