I gave this spot a try at the local farmers market. I opened the box and it looked like they threw all the toppings on top without a care in the world. Furthermore, the pizza was a floppy mess that couldn't stand all the toppings they mindlessly threw on top. I wish I could say I loved this pizza because it's local and a small business, but I can't. I was in Bakersfield for the day and was craving some really good Stone Fire pizza! Ya do you know the kind I'm talking about, with the big burnt bubbly and pillowy crusts? I found them on Yelp and the pictures looked exactly what I was looking for! So I followed them on Instagram and saw they were gonna be at a local Farmer's Market, Haggin Oak Farmer's Market! As we walked up to their food truck we saw the dreaded sign "SOLD OUT!" Which confirmed my suspicions that this pizza place is bomb! I walked up to the gal and explained to her that we were really looking forward to trying her pizza and they came highly recommended! I then asked if they could recommend another pizza place that uses a stone/brick oven? And she honestly said "no one else does it like us, to be honest. We use homemade fresh dough, etc." Now I was REALLY bummed I wouldn't be able to try their pizza. It must've been the sad and defeated look on my face for her to find it in her heart to locate a spare pizza dough because she asks "what can I get for you?!" I light up and say "pepperoni please!" This pizza came out hot and rather quickly! It was simply delish! It had those bubbly burnt bits on the crust that I love! And that taste that can't be replicated in a gas oven! 10/10 highly recommend! read more

These folks make a solid pizza with excellent crust that's a pleasant contrast from the greasy thick style dough you'll find at most places in town. Wonderful family business. Fresh crust, ample toppings. Service with a smile and the pies are served nice and hot in a sturdy box. I just love their pizza ovens. They do a great job. Made fresh to order. We went to support 2nd Phase brewery and this pizza spot tonight for a drink, sat out back and had a great time. I'd rather buy pizza from here than any chain of course and will continue to do so. SO much tastier. I could feel the love! Tonight we tried the Baja. $16 plus tip. We stayed in Bakersfield for two days. I was looking up pizza and found this place only to be heartbroken that they do pop ups and didn't have a main stay. But to my foodie luck, I happen to stop in 2nd phase brewing on our last afternoon and they were there! We ordered two pizzas : a plain cheese (cause my man thinks you should judge all pizzas based on this) and a pesto. Both were super yummy. The crust was amazing and I loved every bite! My friends and I tried the Specialty Pizza at the Saturday farmer's market. Pears, goat cheese, garlic, arugula, balsamic...maybe more, but I think I got it all. Delicious! The crust was crispy and soft and burned in all the right places. The combination of all the flavors was great! Their tomato sauce had great flavor. The goat cheese was creamy and delicious. Not tart at all. Whole garlic cloves...yum! The poor pears were almost lost with all the other big flavors, but I would still order it again! Ive had several pizzas from them, including their fig goat cheese(its been 5 years). Crust always has a smokey doughy taste. Sauce is light and cheese is amazing. Their creations change all the time to keep up with the rotating menu. They set up at 2nd Phase Brewery during the week. They offer a beer a pizza combo which is awesome. I ordered a pizza that had goat cheese, arugula, parm and roasted garlic. Perfectly balanced with balsamic vinaigrette and caramalized onions. Frankly, one of the best pizzas in Bakersfield. It's a pop up shop using wood fired pizza ovens. Fresh, literally Farmer's Market, ingredients. Also has vegan options, which is a godsend for our dairy intolerant daughter. I've added a picture of their Classic with a twist. Pepperoni with a pesto drizzle, and caramelized onions and mushrooms. The owners are also a delight (told my 6 year old she could stand in the shade they erected and gave her a bottle of water). I don't need to eat pizza every week, but I try to hit them up every Sunday at the Kaiser Farmer's Market. It's a must try. Edit: my 6 year old just gave it a thousand stars. So I paid for a box w a tiny pizza inside, I like anything cooked on open fire but this place had a lot to desire. You're not gonna find top quality toppings. This location is within my work building in the historic Haberfeld on 17th & Chester. I absolutely love this place . You can tell the food is made with love . everyone in the kitchen is like an extended family , it feels like my grandma is In the back prepping all the food & sprinkling it off with hugs & kisses. You can tell this isn't a frozen food packaged kitchen everything is so fresh from the burgers to the papusas. The prices are awesome and don't get me started on the daily specials BOMB! I'm not lying when I say I eat there almost everyday so essentially this is my only form of nourishment due to my busy schedule sometimes I don't have any time to eat but I can always guarantee that there's a meal waiting for me. The owner Eddie makes my day he has the best smile & he always goes above & beyond to accommodate my annoying non-listed items like oatmeal & very specific orders like mince my onion not chopped (yes, eye roll I'm THAT person ) . Eddie & his staff are wonderful & I love how he plates the order for dine in it gives very Food network vibes.
