    Floppy mess
    Michael R.

I gave this spot a try at the local farmers market. I opened the box and it looked like they threw all the toppings on top without a care in the world. Furthermore, the pizza was a floppy mess that couldn't stand all the toppings they mindlessly threw on top. I wish I could say I loved this pizza because it's local and a small business, but I can't. This was one of the worst pizza experiences I have ever had. Never coming back. Save your money.

I was in Bakersfield for the day and was craving some really good Stone Fire pizza! Ya do you know the kind I'm talking about, with the big burnt bubbly and pillowy crusts? I found them on Yelp and the pictures looked exactly what I was looking for! So I followed them on Instagram and saw they were gonna be at a local Farmer's Market, Haggin Oak Farmer's Market! As we walked up to their food truck we saw the dreaded sign "SOLD OUT!" Which confirmed my suspicions that this pizza place is bomb! I walked up to the gal and explained to her that we were really looking forward to trying her pizza and they came highly recommended! I then asked if they could recommend another pizza place that uses a stone/brick oven? And she honestly said "no one else does it like us, to be honest. We use homemade fresh dough, etc." Now I was REALLY bummed I wouldn't be able to try their pizza. It must've been the sad and defeated look on my face for her to find it in her heart to locate a spare pizza dough because she asks "what can I get for you?!" I light up and say "pepperoni please!" This pizza came out hot and rather quickly! It was simply delish! It had those bubbly burnt bits on the crust that I love! And that taste that can't be replicated in a gas oven! 10/10 highly recommend!

    Classic with a twist!! DELICIOUS

Wow! Wow!Wow! I'm a pizza connoisseur and I've had great pizza all over SoCal and beyond. Hand down the best pizza I've ever had! I ate here twice and can't wait to have it again. Crust is perfectly cooked and so much flavor in every bite. You just want to eat it slow and savor every mouth water bite!! If you are a true pizza lover try his pie!!!!!

    Basic cheese pizza ... delish!!

We stayed in Bakersfield for two days. I was looking up pizza and found this place only to be heartbroken that they do pop ups and didn't have a main stay. But to my foodie luck, I happen to stop in 2nd phase brewing on our last afternoon and they were there! We ordered two pizzas : a plain cheese (cause my man thinks you should judge all pizzas based on this) and a pesto. Both were super yummy. The crust was amazing and I loved every bite! So glad we found them!

Chorizo, frijoles on a pizza? Yesssssss and soooo good!

Ohhhh my goodness! I loved these pizzas! Yes pizzasssssss! Because i ordered 3 of them! I didn't exactly get the names right...but I'm thinking the tritip pizza sandwich, the Baja...frijoles and chorizo! Sooooo delicious! And the Margherita pizza. All sooo delicious! Can't wait to come back and check out their other options! Try these guys out!

Good Italian style oo dough cooked in a high temp oven ,kind of minimalist pizzas. It's a truck so you sit at an outdoor table at the Farmers Mkt. Made to order each one

The Specialty...pear, goat cheese, arugula, garlic...soooo good!
    Lori C.

My friends and I tried the Specialty Pizza at the Saturday farmer's market. Pears, goat cheese, garlic, arugula, balsamic...maybe more, but I think I got it all. Delicious! The crust was crispy and soft and burned in all the right places. The combination of all the flavors was great! Their tomato sauce had great flavor. The goat cheese was creamy and delicious. Not tart at all. Whole garlic cloves...yum! The poor pears were almost lost with all the other big flavors, but I would still order it again! Not sure what I'll order next time, but I know it'll be as good or better!

    Yum!!
    Karina M.

Pizza was delicious!! I really loved the roasted garlic cloves on it and it really depth to the flavor of all the ingredients. I really do think my pizza was a little over baked as it had pieces of just black crust. Aside to that it was delicious and I can't wait to go back.

Classic with a twist - our family's favorite!

Update 3/5/22 - had their pizza with a twist at the farmers market, and it's even better fresh from the oven. Omg so good. Go get some!!

From Lean…read moreCuisine, to a warmed up 7-11 pepperoni, to the Margherita at Frugatti's, I've enjoyed them all. My philosophy is that pizza is like only one other thing in life - even if its not that great, its still pretty good. Thats why it pains me to report that Woodstone, once ranked as one of the best pizzas in Kern County, completely missed the mark tonight. Uber Eats offered a 50% off promo at Domino's this evening, but my wife and I opted to drop $70 on a medium Hawaiian and a "Woodstone" (combination), with a side of boneless buffalo wings instead. Upon arrival, we noticed both medium pizzas were delivered in large size boxes, leaving a wide berth between the crust and the edge of the box. While the pies were delivered in good condition and warm to the touch, they were not as visually striking as one would expect. It was clear that too small pizzas were placed in too big boxes. I dove into the combination first, and immediately noticed a bland lack of flavor. I tried to add some pizzaz with the provided pepper flakes and parm, but no dice. I had to dip my slice in ranch just to choke it down. Unfortunately, the Hawaiian pizza was no better. The crust on both pizzas was hard, almost as if it was stale, and each of the toppings were congealed together in the melted cheese so there was just an amalgam of bland flavor throughout each bite. Both pizzas tasted the same, in fact (not good). I moved on to the wings and they had an off flavor and gummy texture as well. Truly, everything tasted like it was left out from the lunch buffet a day or two ago and someone brushed some garlic butter on everything, nuked it for half a minute, and half assedly packaged it all up for us tonight. The good news is the City of Bakersfield announced that it is acceptable to dispose of pizza boxes in the green waste can now. Sadly that's where this entire meal wound up.

They have the perfect crunch and fall off the bone while melting in your mouth. I added the wings to my order on a whim and will be back very soon specifically for the wings. Their pizza is delicious and filling. On my most recent trip I ordered the spicy chicken pizza with pineapple. I know, controversial additional topping. But what's not controversial is how delicious and filling every pizza from Flame's Pizza always is. Even the crust is noteworthily scrumptious. From their classic pizzas to their "Flamelicious Pizzas", all are worth trying. Especially their Indian style pizzas. I've been having fun working through their menu. Their portion sizes are strong and I always end up having plenty of leftovers, which I am always hoping for when grabbing pizza and wings. They have great ranch and do not skimp. I went with the small ranch that came with my chicken wings and was very impressed with the amount of ranch provided, an important metric for true wing and pizza lovers. (Though I'll probably get their large next time ) The folks behind the counter and running the place are super kind. You can tell there is a lot of love put into this spot. Very clean and well taken care of. I am impressed with how much Flame's Pizza continues to impress me. Be sure to check them out!

For our most recent order, we got a large combination pizza with pink sauce, a large garden salad with ranch, and an order of zeppoles with chocolate caramel dipping sauce. Let me just say, the pizza with pink sauce was amazing. It may not sound like the most enticing combo, but it was so good. The salad was pretty standard, but the zeppoles were dangerously addictive. They reminded me of beignets, and that dipping sauce was absolutely fire. I will say that sometimes the order doesn't come exactly right, although that could just as easily be an Uber Eats issue rather than the restaurant itself. Either way, the flavor and the deals have more than made up for it. We'll definitely be ordering from here again, and hopefully dining in sometime too... depending on how well the kids behave

The Good: the price is reasonable. It's on the cheaper side and not much more than fast food delivery pizza. Staff was cordial and it was ready for pick up in record time. I ordered garlic on my pizza and they had fresh garlic. That's a huge plus considering many pizza establishments put minced pickled garlic from a jar on the pizza. The Bad: The pizza tasted like fast food pizza. The dough has a certain texture and doughiness reminiscent of Pizza Hut while the cheese tasted like it came from Costco. The spaghetti was the most disappointing part of the meal. There were only three meatballs in the spaghetti with meatballs and it had a weird taste and kick to it that reminded me of jarred Mexican salsa. It wasn't arrabiata. Inexcusably, there was so little sauce in the pasta that not a single plate could cover the noodles. It may have earned a higher score if my expectations were fast food, low quality pizza

There were a few employees behind the counter, nobody came to the front to assist me. I have nerve damage in my lower extremities so standing for too long hurts. Not to mention, there's a sign on the counter that's says pizza that is done will be placed on the counter, and to have a seat if the pizza isn't there. So I sat. I'm sitting in the dinning area, table directly in front of the checkout counter, I'm facing the checkout counter. An employee even walked out right by me, made eye contact, checked out the salad bar and then went back to the kitchen without ever asking if I needed assistance or if anyone had helped me yet. A little time goes by, employees are walking around the kitchen where they can see me, nobody coming out to ask how they can help me or to take my order. Some other woman comes in and kitchen staff immediately come to the front counter to help her. I got up to get in line now that some customer service is being offered but a family rushed in the line ahead of me to order. So I'm just standing there, with our pizza done and ready getting cold sitting up on top of their oven, not out on the counter where the sign says pizza is placed when it's done. While I'm standing there waiting for the customer in front of me to finish ordering and paying, another employee comes out to the checkout counter, makes eye contact with me but turns his back and starts sorting ranch. He could have easily just grabbed our finished pizzas and breadsticks and brought it out to me since we had already paid online, or maybe even just asked, "how can I help you?" Any of the many times he made eye contact with me, but he didn't. I was completely ignored. It was finally my turn to get some help. I asked where the pizza is kept once it's finished, so the server pointed to the top of the oven where they pulled our pizza down from. The pizza wasn't even warm enough to feel heat coming from the boxes when they handed them to me. Why I had to wait for others to come in and kick the kitchen staff into customer- service mode is beyond me, unless their kitchen staff is all racist? What other reason could this behavior be? Staff should be rushing to the counter to help every customer the same. So tell me why I was ignored the way I was, yet the kitchen staff rushed in to provide service to other people before me as soon as they walked in? This pizza isn't good enough to be eating it cold and hard after being treated poorly by staff. Get rid of the sign instructing online orderers to have a seat and wait if you're not going to assist customers sitting in your dining room.
