It's always a struggle to find a breakfast spot that satisfies both me and my husband--he's always in the mood for Mexican food, and I'm always craving a classic American breakfast. We finally decided to try Huevo House, and with a name like that I was expecting both cuisines, but I wasn't expecting the Mexican flavors to be this good! The menu was a decent size--one side for breakfast and the back for lunch. I didn't look at the lunch side, but the breakfast options were great: plenty to choose from without feeling overwhelming. They serve pozole on Fridays and Saturdays and menudo on Sundays. The pozole was full of flavor and honestly one of the highlights of our visit. Thank goodness we finally found a place that satisfies us both! I ordered the Country Benedict and he ordered the Brunchiladas--both dishes were delicious and came in generous portions. We also tried the Abuelita Latte and the Mazapán Latte. Both were very good, just on the sweeter side, so if you're not into sweet coffee definitely ask for half sweet. Our server was attentive and informative. She took great care of us and even made conversation, which added to the overall experience. Overall, such a good visit. We'll definitely be back!

The service is amazing, and everyone is so sweet! Their breakfast is one of my favorites in all of Bakersfield. They have great options for both sweet and savory dishes. Personally, I love their waffles. I would totally recommend it!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Walking inside, it looked pretty busy.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Our waitress told us to go sit at a nearby booth so we went and she brought menus a few minutes later. We never been here so we just picked randomly on the menu! We got their Three Flight Mimosas with Original, Cranberry, & Strawberry. They were pretty good and refreshing. We also got the Banana and Berry Pancakes and made it a combo to get eggs and sausages in the side, the "Hot Mess" which is two pancakes, a waffle, a chicken, French toast, and an egg stacked on top of one another, and potatoes on the side! The food was amaaazing. Shout out to the chefs today because there was absolutely nothing wrong with the food. Seasoning was great, cooked great, it was filling, pancakes were soft, it hit the spot! And our waitress Crystal was the sweetest. She was doing a great job taking care of us and many others in the dining room. [[HIGHLIGHT]]It was also kept clean, the employees made sure to clean up ASAP when someone left, they're all working hard.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] 10/10 experience.

Love, love, LOVE!!!! I came I here for a birthday breakfast and it was everything I expected and more! [[HIGHLIGHT]]As soon as we walked in i loved that everything was neat and squeaky clean and absolutely was in love with the Frida Kahlo wall![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We were greeted and seated by Crystal right away. Crystal was wonderful she explained the menu and offered us to purchase a bottle of champagne and 3 selections of juice for only $20 to kick off the celebrations! So needless to say the party got started ! The menu was full of great options it was so hard to choose but I ordered the Huevo house burger which was absolutely mouthwatering! My bestie ordered El Diablo omelet that was loaded chorizo and veggies it was a party of flavors in every bite !

Huevo House is our favorite diner in Bakersfield. Their birria, coffee flights, eggs benedicts and pancakes are amazing. This time we tried their summer mango lassi and it didn't disappoint!!

Took a road trip up to Bay from LA, was craving something cute, filling, and open early - it was just past 7 am, the Brunch Gods better come thru - Huevos House did not disappoint. We landed here, and so glad we did! We usually are pretty strict on what we eat for the most part, and when we saw this place had slow cooked Birria meat, we knew we found the right spot! Called to make sure place was open since we aren't from this area, yup- open and available to take to go orders. We ordered: BIRRIA OMELETTE 16.95 Stuffed with our signature slow cooked birria and shredded jack & cheddar blend. Topped with cilantro and pickled onions. Served with consommé on the side The portion is super large and generous with the Birria meat!! We were shocked, what a value! Also, (They use butter when cooking this! We subbed the cheese for Queso Fresco!) the Birria meat was pretty meaty and good. Will say we used up every drop of the consommé! Other item we ordered: STEAK AND EGGS 21.95 Certified angus ribeye 10 oz steak with 2 eggs of your choice, and garlic butter. Served with your choice of Hash Brown or Country Potatoes and choice of Toast or 3 Charred Tortillas or Biscuits & Gravy or Fruit. Substitute with Egg Whites 1.49. Add Avocado 2.99 The waitress taking the order (Heather) let us know that we could add different grilled veggie toppings like grilled onions, or grilled mushrooms. And she said it was $.50 each. So we opted for two sides of grilled mushrooms. We chose three chard tortillas, and corn. You can get the wheat tortillas but we are gluten-free. She also let us know that the fresh fruit is hand cut. Our ordered arrived with 3 eggs actually! The server Heather who answered the phone had great energy - she said she loves working there so much and it totally showed! I called in advance to ask questions and place it to go order while we were on the road. She definitely knew her ingredients and even offered gluten-free swaps! I do wish there were at least 1 Gluten free Waffle, french toast, bun, English muffin, sandwich bread, or 1 pancake option on the menu - maybe they could do a test item and see how it does.. but I will say they were super accommodating and use butter instead of seed oil for The eggs and meats, which was a win! She was nice too allow everything to come out on a plate to the table and brought boxes so I could pack up after taking these photos and videos! Definitely happy got to try this delicious place! [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is super cute too with many walls of colorful artwork. There's a few plants indoors too that really give it a nice atmosphere[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] . [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's even a little back area you can eat outside.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] If you're ever in Bakersfield, now you know the best spot to visit! We were just passing through, but the spot was such a cute little gem if you're ever rolling through Bakersfield early, definitely worth a stop! And if you're into honest recommendations with a side of wellness and good vibes, feel free to add me!

Saw the Churro French Toast on the menu and that was the whole reason I came. I ordered the California Scramble and the French toast and it was amazing. French toast was among the best I've ever had. Highly recommend and will definitely return

    Horchata Latte

First timing coming here, it was overall a nice experience. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The art and look is super colorful and pretty to look at for pictures.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The first items we tried were the lattes and honestly that was my favorite part the servers make them and they're actually so yummy I enjoyed the horchata latte! The biscuits and gravy I could definitely pass on they just tasted ehh I've had better at a gas station. The breakfast skilett was actually really good and my hubby really enjoyed it, we both loved how loaded it was. I was super excited for the birria Benedict but unfortunately I only ate the eggs and meat, the coleslaw placed on top of the muffin was not my cup of tea (way to sweet) it threw off the flavor for me and the bread was all soggy by the time I got it. The birria could have been more flavorful but it was still good and the potatoes were good too. [[HIGHLIGHT]]I wish you can sit around the whole restaurant but everyone was sitting in one certain area dennys style, it would be nice to sit on the other side by all the art and stuff but I know sometimes it's easier for them that way.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

So disappointed, I really wanted to have a positive experience but it just feels like I wasted my money. The lattes didn't taste like much, super bland, but tasted a lot like coffee not what they were supposed to be. I requested another drink and I got told "they're all going to taste like that." The food was not great, lacking flavor, my eggs a Benedict were SOGGY. The omelette wasn't spicy but more on the sweet side. The only good thing was the menudo and that's because we added the extra spices.

Yummy sandwich, defiantly will be ordering again, also on a local delivery app. Looking forward to trying other options on the menu.

    Turkey Club
    Joshua W.

I've gone to this place a few times and the food was always pretty good, but this time the food was absolutely terrible. The only reason I didn't give this a one star is because I genuinely don't like to do that with restaurants I eat at, plus I know the manager and she is really wonderful. I ordered the Turkey Club and it was terrible. Their version of a Club is red onion, tomato, lettuce, turkey and a watery mayonnaise. No bacon, no cheese, and definitely no flavor. The bread was old and crumbly, the lettuce was wilted. They didn't even toast the bread. Honestly, this felt kinda like a leftover order that they picked stuff off of and just gave it to me. I definitely won't be coming back.

The coffee was extremely hot but honestly, nothing spectacular. It's was extremely basic and know I can make this at home. They used a powder mix but nothing to make it their own, just right out of can..so disappointing. They did have several baked good options. I probably wouldn't come back here. My wife's cold brew, though... was rough. Like really rough. Hard to finish. Food was also hit or miss. The blueberry empanada was absolute perfection -- a delicious, non-sweet pastry with a bright blueberry filling that worked beautifully together. Easily the highlight. On the other hand, the butter English scone thingy was honestly inedible. Overall: some real standouts and some big misses. A mixed experience, but that blueberry empanada alone almost makes it worth another try.

Food-wise, the Peruvian grilled cheese sandwich was flavorful and well made, but I'd recommend asking for the sauce on the side unless you enjoy a messy sandwich. The ham and cheese croffel had great flavor, but it was a little light on the ham and cheese. I think the cropples are better suited in the sweet variety as they seem small incompressants to a ham and cheese croissant someone would purchase for about half that price. In my opinion, it was more of a kid's snack than a meal and not quite worth the price, if you're actually hungry I would go with something else off the menu. Everything was made fresh , you must be patient here , perfection can be slower than your metabolism, so dont go there hangry. As I was walking I saw the sign for this place and was happy I did because my other coffee options were a fast food restaurant or the famous coffee chain. It was a bit confusing to locate. It was tucked away in the back of a commercial office space type building. Once inside the place was very clean and organized. Very minimalist design. I was only one of 4 total people inside. My order was taken quickly. I ordered an iced americano with a ham and cheese turnover. Coffee was on point. No notes. No complaints. The pastry however was not good. They asked me if I wanted it heated up. I said I did. I saw her put it in the microwave, and I assumed they turned it on. Being driven back from the Grand Canyon having spent nearly a week camping with some awesome people from SJSU, we were informed we were staying at a Super 8 motel overnight to take hot showers and sleep on beds (one week of camping will do that). I had search on Google for coffee nearby and saw this "Bikini Bottom Coffee" shop pop up and yes, I was intrigued of a coffee shop with bikini clad baristas. But it was getting late and we had an early departure for San Jose the next day so I bookmarked this place just in case the free coffee and breakfast offering at the motel did not speak to me (it was terrible...). The morning of the departure, I got up early and it was just a 1-minute walk there and they have two(?) drive by lanes for cars to pull up to order. You can also just walk up to order. Aside from the obvious -- baristas in bikinis taking your order, they have an extensive list of coffee drinks and souvenirs you can buy. Given I need my morning cup of coffee, I opted for the House Blend Bue Coffee and their French toast breakfast sandwich. My verdict? The coffee was alright. I have had better coffee, but given my choice of free (gross) coffee at Super 8 vs my bikini coffee, the latter was a much better solid choice. The French toast breakfast sandwich was heavy with sausage, bacon, and eggs if you are a meat lover. Customer service was excellent so I will give them props for being patient with me while deciding what to order. The second was almond butter and banana with cocoa nibs, honey, and cinnamon. The third was Nutella and hazelnuts topped with strawberries and coconut flakes. They were all delicious, but my favorite was definitely the Nutella and hazelnut toast. Everything tasted fresh and flavorful, and the variety made it fun to share and try different combinations. Service was quick and friendly. The ambiance is a cute cafe vibe. You place order at the counter and someone brings your order to your table. Smitten is definitely a must-visit spot when downtown for breakfast.

SMITTENS STAPLE IS THEIR ABILITY TO MISS THE FLAVOR IN EVER SINGLE DISH…read more Update: coming back after some palate development... smitten is one of the most tasteless restaurants in town. Their hype was definitely due to the 'aesthetic'. Nothing is really outstanding to me. The drinks are such a let down, the coffee is borderline yuck.. do not recommend. Everything is quite unmemorable. Service is whatever, sometimes mid, sometimes bad. Nothing outstanding. Ambiance.... well... this one has been replicated one too many times. The food is heavily missing flavor, the hummus is disgusting. I can't believe they call that thing hummus, it's an insult to actual dish.. it's almost like it was trying to imitate the real dish, but failed terribly in even attempting to. Their pizza tasted like play-doh and looked very pale. Smitten is at least consistent with one thing, which is their staple: no flavor. One of the breaking points for me was being served food that had someone's HAIR. The restaurant is very expensive for the poor experience they have to offer. I stopped recommending them a long time ago.
