Fantastic find! Amazing authentic tasting drinks and sweets. I wish there are more places like it in other cities north LA and inland empire

Been coming here for years now and the Adeni Tea is hands down my favorite drink in town. I was already a milk tea kinda girlie in the boba universe, but this was the first beverage of theirs that I tried and it scratched a certain itch I'd been unconsciously craving. Something old-world maybe? Like a flavor that's existed for centuries and been passed down through time and so so many generations... and it's now landed in our corner of the world that's just a few blocks away? Globalization and the world within, for f' sakes! This place is truly brilliant. More recently, I'm only in town a few days out of the week, but I make a point to visit this location or their other location, Mokhamena on Panama, each day I'm here to, at a minimum, pick up two for myself--the first one is to function and the second is to savor. There was a time I'd pick up the party-size for my coworkers when I liked them... but alas, times have changed so more for me. The staff there are always friendly and awesome, and on days that I'm lucky enough, I get to actually enjoy the cafe. I stopped by Mokha Cafe during a recent Bakersfield visit. I wanted to get some coffee before getting back on the freeway, and I saw that this spot had positive reviews and was nearby. The cafe is located in a plaza with ample parking spots, and the employees I interacted with were polite and efficient. I ordered a Turkish coffee and thought it was a great version of the drink; it may have been small in size, but it had a potent flavor. There was a good amount of indoor seating, and I could see this cafe being a fine spot to linger in for a while. read more

The coffee was good, although it definitely leans on the sweeter side, so keep that in mind if you prefer less sweetness. I visited on a busy Saturday morning, and seating was very limited, which made it a bit difficult to find a place to sit and enjoy my drink. The staff was efficient and got orders out in a timely manner, but the customer service felt a little less warm and welcoming than I had hoped. A friendlier and more inviting atmosphere would really elevate the overall experience. When you walk up to the storefront you are met with painted mural archways. Sets the tone for a beautiful experience. Now open the front door & you see this beautifully painted wall mural and hanging light scones. The Vibe is Moroccan, Turkish very relaxing. The music is cool too. Etta James, Sade, Sam Cooke Thee Sacred Souls Service. I was met with a smile & a chill vibe. No hurrying here. There actually quite a few people here working on their laptops. This Pistachio Latte is the Bomb. . Perfectly sweet & a medium taste. The Basboosa is moist made with honey dense center. Only ate half. Save the rest for later. I think I just found a new coffee spot whenever I'm in West Bakersfield area. Very clean. Tap pay accepted. My partner and I came on a weekend afternoon. I love chocolate and pistachio flavored desserts, and I knew the pistachio latte would be perfect for me. The inside was very clean, warm, and welcoming. After ordering, we got our pistachio lattes after 10-15 minutes. The pistachio latte was just sweet enough, and the pistachio flavor shined through. I was looking for the strawberry Dubai chocolate in a cup, but didn't see it offered. Overall, we had a great experience and I'll be back and hopefully try the pastries next time! read more

I had no idea this locally owned coffee shop existed in Bakersfield until Yelp! There are even 3 locations- one in downtown, on Panama Ln, and this one. I went twice to this location two days in a row because I enjoyed it so much. First with a friend and then I had to introduce it to my kids. The coffees and teas are delish and unique, as well as the smoothies and juices (I didn't try those but my kids loved them). We tried a variety of baked goods, the honeycomb bread is sooooo dang good! Filled with little pockets of cream cheese, drizzled with honey, and topped with toasted regular and black sesame seeds (I forgot to take a pic of this one, but I'll add it next time I go). We enjoyed all of the pastries we tried- not a crumb on our plates by the time we were finished! The decor is beautiful and unique. All of the employees super nice and helpful. You can ask them for descriptions or ask for a menu to see details and ingredients. They're open late too, so I think my next visit will be a GNO or a date with my hubby. read more

The two guys at register definitely are not welcoming, not sure if it's a cultural thing or what . Either way they should try to be more welcoming to paying customers. As far as coffee goes it's just ok if you like bland watered down coffee . Tried it , but definitely won't be returning. read more

It is always a great time here. Despite being a small location, it is always a great work or hang space. From playing games or catching up on emails, I enjoy coming here. First off, this cafe is beautiful!! Such gorgeous designs, furniture, decor, everything. It's a great place to sit down. They also had free WiFi & since it's near the university, it's popping with college students working on their laptops. I absolutely love the variety of items to eat & drink! I got the Dubai chocolate, manakeesh, mint mango smoothie (seasonal for Ramadan, not a permanent item) & a Vimto refresher. I've never had Dubai chocolate before but I am STOKED I had it here for the first time. Perfect size, perfect crispy texture & powerful flavor. I love that the pistachio isn't overwhelming. The manakeesh is my all time favorite. Flatbread with white melted cheese & the perfect seasonings. It's embarrassing how quick I ate it. I can't savor it because it's THAT GOOD!! Only $3!!! The Vimto refresher is my absolute favorite new drink. It has sparkling water with berries. Chefs kiss. I know it's going to hit hard in the summer when I'm needing a cold drink. The mint mango smoothie is PHENOMENAL! The balance of mint & mango is just right. I hope they keep this item around. The service was also wonderful. Kind baristas that are knowledgeable & definitely hard workers! They are a very busy business & they handle it with ease. One thing I do not care for (but it will not affect negatively on my review) is credit card payments. Your subtotal they tell you after you order is only if you pay cash. If you pay card, it is atomically more because of credit card charges but they do not say that. It will also reflect an even higher amount on the screen because it automatically adds 20% gratuity to your credit card charge. So it goes from one price, to another, to another. I always tip but if it's not a restaurant, it will typically be 10%. Be aware of the charges when you go. I absolutely love this spot. I can't wait to try new drinks & food! read more

This is my sister's favorite coffee shop and it's quickly becoming mine too! I always order the same drink, and the service is fast and efficient. They're not super personable, but they seriously make one of the best cups of coffee! They have a great selection of drinks, and I keep telling myself I need to venture out of my comfort zone. My favorite is the Mufawaar it's like an energy drink mixed into a delicious cup of coffee. Strong and sooo tasty! As for ambiance is relaxing, and it's definitely a great spot to get a solid study session in. read more

This is a wonderful addition to our city! I was very excited to try this place and get a feel for Yemeni coffee. Upon entry I was taken aback by the beautiful art that appears hand painted on the wall. It is beautiful! I wanted to get a feel for what Yemeni coffee is and how it differs from other regional coffees and I did not get that. We ordered a coffee and a matcha and I was able to try and enjoy both. I think it's good coffee and matcha I just didn't understand how their product differed from anything else. It's not bad and I would get it again but I didn't get a feel for the region. I remember when I tried Turkish coffee for the first time and the richness of flavor and strength, Salvadoran coffee and its rich aromatics, Palestinian and its rich nutty textures via spice, but here I was left wondering. Yes, this is a pistachio coffee, but what makes it different? I don't know. Yes, this is a pistachio matcha, but what made it different. Don't know. Good sure, but I can't really describe how it is unique. The baklava, certainly, provided this rich information. Compared to other baklavas it was drier and crunchier in a way that was satisfying and light. I would prefer to eat this baklava if I was watching my sugar and calories, which coincidently I currently am. Other baklavas are more decadent and syrup/sugar heavy. I was left with a want for more out of how light and delicious they are. I hope to try their cake offerings soon! Would return to continue trying their menu and would love to see a no straw option for the lid along with a more sustainable cup! read more

This is the first time trying this establishment. The staff is super friendly and knowledgeable about their products. A young lady asked what I would like. I asked her what her favorite drink is she said the pistachio latte. She went into detail about the flavor and intensity of the coffee. I ordered a 20oz with medium ice. It was fantastic. It almost tasted like a Dubai chocolate. The pistachio was not overpowering and made the coffee taste wonderful. The ambiance was very cafe friendly. People on their laptops and chatting with friends. The whole experience was about 10 min maybe. I am a fan of all things pistachio, but was enticed by the SANA'ANI LIMEADE, a refreshing drink with a well balanced blend of fresh limes, sugar, and milk. I also had a shortbread cookie, which was not too sweet like most shortbread cookies. My husband had the Saudi coffee and baklawa. He said it was his favorite baklawa because it was not overly sweet nor drowned in honey. You could tell that they use high quality ingredients in their baked goods and drinks. Such an amazing gem to find in Bakersfield. The pistachio latte was truly the best I've ever had - you can taste the authentic pistachio cream. And don't get me started on the honeycomb bread, wow! The staff were so sweet; they let us know about their promo for drinks and pasties during Thanksgiving weekend after we didn't see the sign. I was in the area and looking for a good coffee spot. The girl taking my order was super nice. The decor inside is super unique and very beautiful. The bathroom was also very clean and cutely decorated. I seen everyone raving in the reviews about the pistachio latte so of course I had to try it! I had to mix it because I had sipped it as it was in the photo and all the coffee was on top. Once I mixed everything around the flavors popped out and it was delicious! I also tried the banana nut muffin and it was really good too fluffy and not dry at all! I will definitely stop by again when I'm in the area. 10/10 visit for me! read more

Currently my favorite coffee shop! Personal favorite drink to get is their pistachio latte! I also had a chance to have a few of their desserts and each one has been a freaking hit. They even have the infamous Dubai Chocolate before anyone else, and it was delicious. It's been just a joy to know that I can get dessert and good coffee just down the street! Their selection of teas are pretty great too! Service is fantastic as well! They are ready to give you recommendations! I also love the way they decorated inside. The seats along the walls are so pretty! I'm so glad that we have another coffee shop that students nearby can come over and hang out! I'm really hoping they keep growing as a business. Walking distance from our hotel (ignoring the cars whooshing down Coffee Road). The Andalusian fountain outside a different restaurant sets the tone a little before you walk in. There's a great mural of the Yemeni highlands on your left. Intricate stools on your right. Ordered the Saudi coffee since curious. I guess it tastes like turmeric, although it's actually cardamom. Many tea and coffee choices hot and cold. The real treat for me was the sweets. The baklava had flaky pastry roasted nuts and honey it was a good flavor profile not too sweet with a subtle roasted nut flavor. The basboosa is a semolina flour cake topped with nuts and coconut then covered with a simple syrup. It was good but the sweetness of the syrup was a little overpowering. My wife had a muwafa tea. It was black tea with deep rich flavor finished with a caramelly syrup. Was told that is was very balanced and flavorful. My favorite was the kunafa shredded phyllo dough with crushed nuts and syrup. It was a sublime combination of roasted nut flavor and crispy dough with a slight sweetness. It was awesome. This is a place that has treats that you may not be familiar with but are delicious. I dropped in on a Sunday afternoon . The cafe was alive with music . The cafe itself is modern with a beautiful mural painted on one of the walls. The atmosphere is relaxing, it seems like a great place to study or get work done . I ordered the sana'ani limeaide and the pistachio latte. The pistachio latte is insanely delicious. We ordered takeout and overall liked this cafe. Our order was ready promptly. The hazelnut special latte was a good amount of sweet, but it had a pretty thick consistency that isn't my favorite in coffee. I still enjoyed it though. The iced caramel macchiato was a bit too bitter for me. The honeycomb bread, which has cream cheese inside, was absolutely delicious!! I stopped here on my way to run some errands. I'd heard some rumblings about this place and said " Why not." I was craving something savory so I got the manakeesh and a pistachio latte while my oldest couldn't order the Dubai chocolate covered strawberries fast enough. The food was delicious as was the latte...my problem was with the restroom. There was a sign that said to throw the TP in the trash and I know that people on septic tanks do this but at a place of business that serves food??? It just doesn't sit right with me. What a delightfully quaint coffee shop! The decor is ethnically charming with beautiful Arabic lettering and images. I wish the parking lot was less congested but it's Bakersfield, I will continue to be a defensive driver. The young ladies should be lauded for their warmth and hospitality. I ordered the hot pistachio latte (half-sweetened) and it was great and ordered two caramel macchiatos to-go for my husband and son. Additionally, I bought the honeybun, the savory bun and baklava to-go as well. Everything was parceled with care and I really appreciated this We were fans of the savory treat; it was amazing. I've been wanting to try this fairly new coffee shop , having had Turkish pastries before I was excited to see what they had to offer. I stopped in on my way to work and decided to go with a simple Americano and a Sabayah. I have to say I was disappointed it was a bit stale even after being heated up in the microwave. I'm sure if it was fresh it would have been delicious cause the middle part I had did taste good. But unfortunately the rest was not. As for the Americano it was okay nothing special , next time I might just try the Turkish coffee and another pastry, and perhaps update my review. Oh and maybe consider putting the hot pastries on a paper plate so the hot food doesn't melt the plastic in the container it's in. We've been wanting to try this place since they opened and today was the day! The girls there were absolutely amazing, knowledgeable and so sweet! We had no idea what we wanted to try and they showed so much patience with us! We ended up with a rose matcha and a sana ani limeade! Both so refreshing and delicious! The limeade was not overly sweet which on a hot day was perfection! Too many sweets to pick just one so we got several to try! To my surprise when we got home over an hour away they snuck in SO many extras!!! Thank you girls so much! I put my receipt so you can identify what sweets we got! I stopped by this cafe at 9 pm, just an hour before closing, and was appalled by the service. They refused to give us a kettle, only offering a to-go cup, because they had to wash dishes. Needless to say, I won't be coming back to this place... the service was truly horrible . read more

Came in here to have some breakfast and scope a potential study spot. Tables are a bit small for studying but if you only have a tablet or laptop it'd probably work. The food was great! A lot of small bites rather than full meals that go really well with a caffeinated beverage. I got the Manakeesh which was like the zestier, herbier cheese bread that you wish you had met before. I also had a matcha latte, which was sweeter than other places I've had but still very good. The cashier was friendly and the place is beautifully decorated. Yep. This is the place to go-to for your matcha. This is THE spot. Everyone at my workplace has talked/recommended this cafe for their matcha and they did not let me down. I will forever recommend this cafe for their matcha, hands down. Aside from the drink, I did get the honeycomb bread because I saw a lot of pictures of it on their yelp page and so I just had to try.
