From the banks of Truxtun to Moo on Q! I love that Moo uses the Yelp waitlist which makes it easier to reduce the wait time by getting checked in on my phone first. This was convenient since it was so busy and the queue was out the door today. This is my first time at the new location and it's got a very nice retro aesthetic. There's booths, tables, and barstools available for seating. My party was seated at a table since there were six of us. For starters, we had the truffle fries which were tasty. They were golden and crispy! I ordered the Thompson Fit Burger (Bunless). Rather than a bun, thw burger was sandwiched in between sweet potato slices. It paired well with the sprouts and arugula in it. The flavors were sweet, savory, and earthy. While it was bunless, it was quite heavy for me. I ordered it medium well, but it actually came out medium rare. I didn't bother to send it back because they were so busy at this time, and honestly I was too hungry to fuss over it. Also, it's quite loud in here so I have a feeling that the server probably misheard me. Altogether, I had a great experience here and I'm looking forward to my next visit.
Stopped in here for a solo lunch date, is that what they call it nowadays. The service was spot on, lots of seating, great bar and patios seating too. The restroom was nice and clean. I ordered the Moo Fashion, and another beets margarita I believe. I ordered the Mac bites, the burger and sweet potato fries. Everything was delicious. I even ordered dessert. Before leaving I stoped at the pastry counter and ordered a few things but after tasting these, I was disappointed, they all didn't taste great.
I had a very nice experience here for happy hour with my girlfriends. The new location downtown is done very nicely on the inside and outside with plenty of seating. The food was delicious and the service was awesome! I got the En Fuego burger medium well and it did not disappoint. I also really enjoyed the spicy garlic fries and the side sauces that paired perfectly with them. My cousin already knew she was getting her usual which is the Mac and cheese and it was actually perfect. The drinks were also refreshing and came out pretty quickly after we ordered them. Make sure to check out their happy hour for some great deals. I definitely look forward to coming back here soon to try more of their menu items!
I was so looking forward for this place, sadly I was very disappointed after coming here. I must say service was great waiter kept coming asking if we needed anything and gave us ideas what we should try based on our likes very helpful We had Mac n cheese fritters those were yummy with spicy crema sauce. The chilaquiles awful soggy and cold the worst we couldn't eat them after couple bits. Now burger had potential looked good, however cold and dry it seems it was sitting there for a while before being to table and fries cold as if they just pulled them out fridge. The worst part of all this that we ordered 2 mini cones I did not know cost me $3 for a sample taste because that's how I felt about it. The place is nice I do like has a bar area and has chill fun vibe. Overall experience I am not coming back not worth money and unfortunately food not the best.
We were so excited to visit Moo Creamery's new location, especially since we've enjoyed dining there many times before. Unfortunately, this visit missed the mark from start to finish. I immediately noticed that my favorite dish, the shakshuka eggs, was no longer on the menu. Thinking it might just be a seasonal change, I decided to try something different. I ordered the carrot ginger soup, beet and goat cheese salad, and my usual favorite cocktail, the Pear Necessities. The cocktail was the first disappointment. It tasted completely different from what I've come to enjoy, none of the smoky mezcal flavor and none of the sweetness from the pear liquor that made it a favorite. I figured it might just be a new bartender and tried to brush it off. The carrot ginger soup was just okay. I found myself searching for both the carrot and ginger flavors, neither of which really stood out. The beet and goat cheese salad was fine, but it's hard to get too excited about a salad. Overall, the food felt subpar compared to what I've come to expect from Moo Creamery. The restaurant itself was also surprisingly loud, making conversation difficult and adding to the overall frustration. It was hard to get our waitress's attention throughout the meal, and service felt disjointed. The most disappointing moment came when we noticed my son's chicken strips and fries sitting on the counter for 13 minutes before they were finally brought to our table. By then, it was difficult not to question whether the food was still as fresh and hot as it should have been. We came in excited to experience the new location, but between the noisy atmosphere, inattentive service, and food that didn't live up to Moo Creamery's usual standards, we left feeling disappointed. Sadly, I probably won't be returning. It's hard to justify giving it another try when there are so many other restaurants in town that consistently deliver quality food, service, and a better overall dining experience.
Very happy that Moo moved to downtown Bakersfield! It's nice to see that the exterior of the building was preserved. You can actually see characters written on the tiles! Once you step inside you're immediately faced with the host stand. This was my second visit and there was a wait to get it. They texted us when a space was available. However, we were seated in the very far back on the patio in direct sunlight. It was pretty uncomfortable and they were aware, which is why they kept coming by to refill our water. I hope that during the summer they decide to extend their shade or don't utilize those tables, because even with the cold water, it was brutal. I ordered the brisket salad, which is definitely the move. I'd order it again. It wasn't too heavy, just the right amount. Enjoyed the salad mix with a side of sweet potato fries, because they are a MUST! If you've never had them, I highly recommend them! I typically don't enjoy sweet potato very much, but the moment I dunked them in their dipping sauces, my mind was changed. It is a great location and you get a solid meal with fresh ingredients!
My wife was meeting a friend downtown and asked if I wanted to join them at Moo Creamery. Who could pass that up? They've really done a nice job remodeling the inside. They have a back patio that is very comfortable. The service is great and friendly. We got flour, tortilla chips and dip. They were homemade and yummy. A sandwich was quite filling and delicious. People have told me for months that this was a good place for lunch. Now, I believe them. If you're downtown, give Moo Creamery a try.
I've been a loyal fan of this spot for a long time, but this was my first visit since they relocated the restaurant, and the upgrade is real. The vibes in the new space are absolutely immaculate. There is so much more energy here, and the decorations are incredibly cute. It's the perfect backdrop for a killer meal. The Main Event: This time around, I went with the En Fuego Burger. This beast is loaded with a chile-spiced beef patty, pepperjack, sharp cheddar, thick-cut bacon, chipotle mayo, pepper relish, pickled jalapeños, and a mountain of fried jalapeños + onion strings. The Flavor Profile: This burger delivers on every level, but those fried onion strings were to die for. For the side, I got the sweet potato fries, which are served as big, thick-cut wedges. They come paired with a duo of spicy ketchup and a marshmallow dipping sauce. Switching between the two was amazing, the marshmallow sauce actually makes the fries feel like a dessert. The Drink: To wash it all down, I ordered the basil lemonade, and omg, I need to figure out how to recreate this at home. It's exactly what it sounds like, crisp, refreshing lemonade with a perfect herbal basil finish. The Verdict: If you loved their old spot, the new location takes everything to the next level. Between the upgraded atmosphere, the dessert-like fries, and that refreshing lemonade, I will absolutely be coming back here again and again.
This meal was pretty good, especially for Bakersfield. For the salad, I was put off by the large squares of cheese and would've preferred it to be chopped or shredded - it looks like they just rip up a Kraft square and throw it in there. Also wish it came with more chicken but the sauce was good. The fries were too heavy for me, VERY garlicky but I know some people like that. The desserts were the best part and they had so many more options I wanted to try. The carrot cake frosting wasn't too sweet and the cake was moist and spongy. The strawberry ice cream was really fresh, honestly tasted like a creamier sorbet more than ice cream. Our waitress was very friendly and overall thought the interior was cute. They have a lot of seating but it does get really busy for lunch time - I would come early, especially on weekends
Amy was a great waiter and definitely recommend the best sandwich to me . I had the " HIPPY " sandwich. It was so delicious and had so much flavor . I was very impressed with there garlic fries too , I was genuinely surprised with the flavorful dressings and dips that I had on the side... made the experience even better. Definitely hooked on all this place had to offer , from the cool bar lounge, the decorative style, the sweet treats and ice cream. I am going to be here 2 times a month for sure .
A local favorite of mine since they were at their other location on truxtun. I love their eggs Benedict and 24hr burger. Food is always good I have yet to have a bad experience with food or service.
Stopped by for lunch and tried their happy hour menu which starts as early as 4pm. I tried their speciality sliders, $7 each and ordered two with sweet fries. The food was more than enough. The dipping sauces are great too, marshmallow cinnamon on the sweet potatoes. The sliders were juicy and flavorful. Would have loved to try the bakery/desserts but I was too full. Bar served deliciously drinks too. Got the sangria which was huge. The space itself is gorgeous, with a bakery, bar, restaurant, and outdoor seating all in one. The staff was super friendly and attentive and checked on us often. Would definitely come back.
When I found out they moved I had to try them again as all their food was very delicious. The new place is quite a bit bigger always have great service there they atmosphere is excellent very friendly staff and knowledgeable.

My second time at this charming diner/ice cream shop. I tried the brisket melt. Brisket is great by itself, but this restaurant is not the place for simplicity; they also needed to add a host of other ingredients like chipotle mayo, red onion, and pickles. These all sound like they have no business being on a brisket sandwich, but somehow it all works. This wasn't the best brisket I've had (not enough bark, smoke, and pepper to my liking) but definitely the best brisket sandwich. It might be the right call, to under-flavor the brisket. If the brisket was firing on all cylinders, it would overpower the sandwich's other ingredients. My server was Kimberly--very speedy, courteous, and friendly! read more
Visited for breakfast with my daughter and granddaughter. The downtown location is stunning and I love the overall decor and ambiance of the restaurant. The gold accents in the bathroom were super cute! Unfortunately, I gathered an unwelcoming vibe from the beginning. We were seated immediately yet felt just an immediate discomfort but attributed to just being the first time to this location. I have heard rave reviews of this restaurant so was really excited to visit. The restaurant volume is on the louder side (which is fine and my preference) yet had a hard time hearing the waitress and other staff. I felt the waitress grow impatient when she asked how I would like my burger cooked and it took two times of me asking for her to repeat the question because I genuinely could not hear. Just my overall experience, I felt that the other tables nearby were getting friendlier service. Now onto the good aspect of the visit! I ordered the 24 hour burger and it was fantastic! Topped with a sunny side egg, arugula, and thick bacon! Huge burger! Highly recommend! The French fries were delicious but on the cold side. The habanero ketchup served with the fries was delicious. I got a mocha drink and highly recommend! Fresh whip cream and chocolate sprinkles on top! Absolutely loved the drink. I seen so many items on the menu that I would love to try in the future but I will be honest and say I'm apprehensive of returning. read more

When I found out they moved I had to try them again as all their food was very delicious. The new place is quite a bit bigger always have great service there they atmosphere is excellent very friendly staff and knowledgeable. read more
We were able to get in to the new location and love it! The layout is very open. That can add to a high noise level if there are a lot of people, but that also adds to the fun of eating out. We were a group of about 8, we sat right in the middle of the place and ordered a variety of burgers, salads, milkshakes and drinks. Everything tasted amazing. Moo is definitely particular with their ingredients and you can taste it! The portions are generous and everyone will be able to choose something they like. You can't go wrong. The service was good. I found that service could be slow at the previous location. I'm hoping this layout can help with that. I love going downtown for a meal, so I'm glad Moo has worked to revive this corner. read more

Always a great time coming. The new location is spacious and vibrant. The food is always stellar. The truffle fries were divine. Service can sometimes get a bit slow once the amount of guests in the restaurant increase. But overall friendly and welcoming. read more

This place is lovely inside and out. The decorations are so cute and the place has skylights so it's very bright and open. The waiter we had was attentive, knowledgeable, and fun! I had the harvest salad with salmon and it was perfectly cooked salmon. It comes with a lemon vinaigrette which didn't have much flavor so we requested the red wine vinaigrette and that did the trick. We also had drinks and they have a good variety! The sweet potato fries with their marshmallow dipping sauce was to die for!!! Def will come back! read more

This isn't first time at the new location. It is nice that's its walking distance to the theater. Came on a Thursday and the place was packed but the crew was doing a great job getting everyone through as quickly as possible. From the time we were seated to, taking our drinks/food order and for everything to come out it was super quick which we appreciate. I got the Asian pulled pork burrito that was on the rotating menu. The flavor was good and you got some fried wonton chips on the side which I felt you needed for a crunch factor. The burrito was stuffed and full of flavor. I felt like you needed a thicker tortilla to hold it all in because it did at times fall apart. Edit to add came by another night shortly after with a big group and had some additional shares. Had the espresso martini and some chocolate cake. Espresso martini was delicious, the cake was a bit dry but the Swiss merengue and the Dulce de leche were excellent complements. I also got a pistachio icebox cookie that was delicious. We had a big group and made reservations, they were able to accommodate us on their big patio and our servers were amazing. read more
Food was good! I had their brisket salad, brisket was so yummy, overall salad was okay! The atmosphere was mellow and the servers had on shirts with saying on the back that was cute! My mom had the mushroom burger, she said it was good. My husband had the bacon fried rice with pulled pork and he said it was good. Moo on Q is the new place to be. As locals know, they've been serving up some of the best food and ice cream in Bakersfield since 2008. I love their burgers, and their gravy fries are a must. I grabbed the en fuego burger on my last visit and highly recommend it. It's super flavorful! The new location and it is absolutely beautiful. It is clear they put so much care and intention into the remodeling of the building, while still preserving the iconic green and brick aesthetic which this building has been known for. They installed an incredible bar which has the ability to open to the outdoor patio when the weather is nice. Both the indoor and outdoor dining areas seem like such fun spots to enjoy a meal. Geographically, it's pretty awesome to have Moo Creamery located in the heart of the city. Parking is pretty ample and easy. The staff is always super friendly and attentive. The owner, Jessika, is regularly on site, and it's clear her care for her customers and the food they enjoy is spread throughout the team. read more

Prepare yourselves, foodies and sandwich aficionados, because the Chicken Bacon Club from Moo Creamery is not messing around! This isn't just a sandwich; it's a culinary adventure! The chicken? Oh, it's so tender it practically winks at you. And the bacon? Forget bacon; this is *thick-cut joy* that'll make your tastebuds do a happy dance. The arugula and tomato are there, providing some much-needed greenery, like a tiny, edible jungle. This sandwich is so big, you might need a map to find your mouth after the first bite. Seriously, go get this sandwich. Your stomach will thank you. Chilaquiles: the breakfast that's got it all! Crispy chips doing the salsa in a spicy sauce, topped with a sunshine-y egg, freshly sliced avocado, and a creamy finish. It's a flavor party in every bite. Updated review for new location! Wow what a fun location. The central point of the room is the bar that is both inside and outside looking into the large back patio. I think the amount of seating is probably similar to old location.. maybe a little bigger but the flow is better and the outdoor patio/ bar really fun! We sat at the bar because there was a wait on a Wednesday night at 5:30 for a table. We ordered drinks and our food. We got our drinks quickly but our food took a very long time. They brought out my husbands main dish - brisket salad and then a while later my salmon tacos and our sweet potato fries. I wasn't thrilled about the wait for food but their food is top quality it's worth the wait. I was so excited to see salmon tacos back on the menu. They are delicious and you don't feel excessively stuffed or bloated after , especially with the greens side salad. The sweet potato fries as always were phenomenal, heavenly, the best thing on the menu. I got a crimson pine and then later a Paloma, both were fresh and delish and light, perfect with my salmon tacos and salad. After we walked to mill creek park for a concert we had tickets to, love that moo is no a great downtown possibility for before an event!! We will be back! read more
It Was Time to Moooooove! ARRIVE EARLY! I remember the original location, on the Truxton Extension, when you could take a right, into it, when heading east. Then, access was restricted and it became a corn maze by automobile, to find it. Now it's easy peasy to get to it, at their new LARGER location, a historic, beautiful building, in Old China Town. Just continue east on Truxton, until you get to Q Street, and make a left. Then make a left onto 18th Street, and a quick left into their parking lot. Us LOCALS have several better ways to get there, and to find parking, which will become more scarce as the day rolls on! Don't worry, you'll figure it out after the first visit, and I just about guarantee that you'll become a MOO REGULAR! Lookout for the bull!!! This is my first time trying this place. My Wife and I came here for lunch due to our friends talking about it so much. Just an FYI this place is busy and we can see why. The food is absolutely amazing and the drinks are good as well. It's a nice open restaurant with plenty of places to sit, but it's about a 20 to 30 minute wait unless there is room at the bar where you seat yourself. The staff are very friendly and helpful with whatever you need. The whole menu looked amazing so it was hard what to choose from. Just give them a try, you will not be disappointed I promise. We will return again for other delicious dishes to try. read more

Tried the new location- much larger than the last and tends to get really loud. Love the exposed brick of the old repurposed building and nod to the previous tenants, with special menu offerings. Burger was delicious as well as the hot dog. They give you a tasty marshmallow fluff with the sweet potato fries and the chips were flavorful and crispy. The server was busy but attentive and friendly. read more
Had to try out the new location and we choose a Friday night to do it. It surprisingly wasn't too packed but we did have to wait for about 15-20 minutes for a table. First off, the new location is so much bigger than the last one and I love the new, trendy colors and decor. Everything from the aged brick to the fashion forward sage green color spread throughout. So we decided to go with the kids mac and cheese and fries, the bacon and Gruyère burger, the mushroom Gruyère burger and the brisket melt sandwich. Oh, and a side of garlic fries. Everything was delicious. My husband said the Gruyère and mushroom burger was bomb and my daughter said the Mac and cheese had a weird texture but was still good. As for the brisket melt, I liked it but it just wasn't enough meat in it for me. The sourdough focaccia bread it was on was delicious but since the bread is so thick the meat was just lost in between the slices. We will for sure come back to try other items on the menu, because I have yet to try out a burger. read more

Tried the New Moo! The location is a bit further from me but this new location is so mich bigger and has such a beautiful bar and so much sunlight! The food is just as fantastic as ever and the staff are the nicest most personable people youd ever meet! read more

Truly one of my favorite spots in town! I could give you a whole list of recommendations! You have to try one of their burgers and of course some ice cream. The service is always top tier the staff always makes you feel welcome. I am also obsessed with the vibe of the place if the weather allows I definitely would sit out on their back patio it's unreal. 10/10 all around read more

It's been a long time since I've had Moo Creamery. Their new location is gorgeous! The atmosphere is so inviting and would be a fun place to dine with a group of people. It was a Thursday night and this place was packed. Surprisingly we got seated in about 15 minutes. The espresso martini was amazing I'd even say one of the better ones I've had in town. Garlic fries and sweet potato fries were cooked very well and I love the unique dipping sauces they come with. The cinnamon marshmallow sauce was delicious with the sweet potato fries but the spicy 1000 island was my favorite. Their menu is extensive so it was hard for me to choose my main. I noticed a lot of people around me were ordering cheeseburgers so I did the same. The Moo Burger was so juicy. I ordered mine medium and it was pretty pink on the inside. I'd be weary of that maybe next time I'd order medium well. I really enjoyed dining here. The service was slow because it was so busy and I found a lot of the time when I asked for a condiment or a box the waitress would forget. I'm glad we ordered appetizers because we came hungry and the food took longer than we expected. Come here with good company and you'll have a great experience accompanied with great food. read more
I have been here a time or two but today I realized I had not done a review and they are deserving of a good one! Moo's ambiance at this new location is superb! Everyone who works here is so kind, and also busy taking care of everyone. I just had water to drink today because this 110 degree weather got a girl dehydrated! But the food we were not skimping on. We were wanting something light and fresh and decided on the crispy cauliflower appetizer and we shared a turkey, bacon and avocado sandwich on wheat sourdough with a side of sweet potato fries. The crispy cauliflower was full of flavor and the perfect start to our meal. The toppings were fresh and perfectly on point. The sandwich was exactly what we hoped for with fresh ingredients and the perfect meal on a hot day. The sweet potato fries are served with a jalepeno ketchup which was my favorite but then there was cinnamon marshmallow and that was a delightful surprise. It was the perfect end to a perfect meal. I really wanted ice cream but I had no room so that will have to be for the next visit. Can't wait. read more

Awesome, modern new spot! The dedicated parking alongside the building is a bit dicey when full. There's so much street parking though so shouldn't be a problem really. Walked in about half hour from closing. We were sat at the back patios. They had most of the heaters were on except by our table. One affogato, one Stella sundae, and one scoop of chocolate ice cream with a cake cover later, we left sugared up and ready for hopping evening. read more
So, they moved! From this very hard to find corner to the old Chinatown building! And they are bigger, more modern, and more fun. The decor is definitely updated from a quirky dinner to a modern restaurant. Big lighting fixtures, open concept kitchen, and new energy. We sat at the bar and the bar tender was so good. Got our drinks and food quickly. Friendly but not overly chatty. I ordered the classic 24 hour burger. The party was thick, fried egged were runny, and everything was perfect. My wife loved her healthy bun-less burger and sundae. Great place! read more
I had their salmon tacos and the lunch speacial burger I forgot the name, bjt it has a jelly like spread and it is fantastic. CARSON was my bartender and he was awesome! One of the best whiskey sours in Bakersfield. Super chill atmosphere and the food is fantastic! The restroom is super cute with pink being the color. I wasn't expecting the salmon tacos to be so delicious, but they are. The burger was cooked to my liking which was medium well and the pickles were surprisingly delicious. The place instantly catches your eye, super clean, modern, and you can tell they really put time and heart into the building. The atmosphere just feels good, like somewhere you actually want to hang out and relax. Service was a bit slow, but totally understandable because they were crazy busy, which honestly says a lot about how popular the spot is. And the food? Solid. Fresh, flavorful, and definitely worth the wait. Overall, great vibes, good eats, and a spot I'd happily pull up to again. Definitely a win. read more

A wonderful diner experience. I'm a big Guy Fiero Triple D fan on television and he showcased Moo Creamery in Bakersfield. The hostess greeted me with a warm smile and helped me with the free WiFi password. I was seated next to the window and was offered water immediately. The server was polite and helpful. She told me that the PB & B was featured on DDD. So I ordered this unusual burger with peanut butter, arugula, potato chip, and a bacon jam and was very impressed with the combined flavors. What a stroke of luck for whoever created this incredibly delicious burger. I can't wait to order it again. I ordered their ice cream: a scoop of Key Lime and a scoop of pistachio flavors. OMG. That was the most delicious ice cream I've ever eaten. All-in-All this establishment exceeded my expectation. It's a culinary exploration here in Bakersfield CA. read more

Is the mint and chip ice cream green or red (peppermint)?
We do not use any food coloring. we infuse fresh mint leaves into the cream, which turns it somewhat of a brown color with chipped chocolate.
