Went here for breakfast today, ordered the trifecta. My daughter ordered the tri-athlete. Service was good, the waitress was nice. The hot chocolate was so watered down that even cream couldn't help it. And you think for a three dollar hot chocolate, they would use milk, since everything else here is quality. I don't know if they used milk or not, but it tasted like creamy water. (Not a good taste btw). Just disappointed at the hot chocolate quality, everything else is good. read more

Great breakfast/lunch spot. Staff is friendly and attentive and the food is certainly a step up from something like IHOP. I usually get an omelette with fruit on the side. The eggs are nice and fluffy, not dense or over cooked. This time I got the chikkichanga, which had whipped eggs, chicken, chorizo, avocado, and onion inside a fried tortilla and topped with sour cream and some kind of delicious red sauce. I'm intrigued by the "power bowls" that have chicken, nuts, quinoa and some other stuff. Will order one of those next time. I've been here four times, always on Saturday or Sunday around noon, and have always had to wait 5-25 minutes. Understandable for what I assume is their peak time. read more

First impressions are only made once. We got here at 8:15am on a Saturday. Free wifi and great food. Its very tasty for those of us who like hearty flavored breakfast. Yummy. Our first visit was a Sunday around lunch. Possibly the busiest time of the week but the staff managed the crowd very well. During the wait we looked at the menu and she took our order right before we were seated. When we were seated it didn't take long for the first meal came out quickly but we had to wait for the other 2 meals. That made it a little awkward as one of us was eating and about 1/3 done by the time the other meals came. He couldn't wait of course or he's meal would have been cold. That being said, we were all pleased with the food. Large portions and seasoned perfectly. We all had breakfast food. The breakfast scramble, which was made without spinach on request, florentine Benedict, and the kids fruit crepe (which came with some of their delicious granola). The coffee wasn't worth the price so I'll skip that next time. The large juice was a good size. We did feel a little rushed once at the table. It was so crowded though. This restaurant is receiving five stars for the following reasons: excellent wait staff, great quality food, more than reasonable prices, and a large menu. There aren't mimosas, but they do have a fresh juice bar! A pretty cup is only $3.99. I ordered a power protein bowl. It was a breakfast bowl with kale, sausage, mushroom and quinoa. There were eggs on top. It was filling. The coffee was great! They give you a pitcher of coffee so you can constantly refill. That is a major plus for me. I came in town for Towson' Homecoming and before departing for New York we stopped for breakfast. I was pleased with the menu and the variety of selections. For a beverage i got the morning meditation made with beets, ginger, turmeric, lemon, orange and agave nectar. It arrived to the table looking like a sunset. The flavors meshed so well together it tingle my taste buds. This drink is a must have as all of the natural flavors wull burst in your mouth. Definitely try it, you wont regret it. I decided on the tri-athlete for my entree. My egg whites were cooked well along with my vegetables. The bread was ok not as soft as I wanted. The fruits were very sweet. My friend ordered the veggie burger and squash soup. I tried the soup and it was really good. I loved the earthy flavors. My friend said the burger was really good. The place was really crowded when we arrived but we were seated quickly and the service was pretty quick. This place is baffling. The logo shows it right away. It looks like it's a bank or health clinic, but from the brown paper menu and the menu items (lemon blueberry quinoa pancakes), it looks like it's trying to be a farm-to-table kind of gourmet hip restaurant. This restaurant is really really NOT hip. The waiters wear polo shirt uniforms with the logo on it, and the restaurant has a bit of a nursing-home decor about it. Cracker Barrel is much cooler and more stylish than this place. But the food --for the most part-- was really tasty (except for the fruit bowl, which seemed right out of a Costco bulk bag, just bland melons and grapes, and was pricey for $8). read more

So, First Watch - We arrived to a packed house, which isn't bad, they turn tables over fast. Free coffee greats you as you wait, which is a really nice touch. We got seated and HAS to try the fresh juices. As expected they were awesome, and were indeed made to order. They didn't taste processed or stale. For the brunch entrees, we had Chickachanga and Salmon Frittata. Outstanding, no other word for it. I thought this was going to be our new go to lunch spot because my fiancé just started working in the area and we instantly liked the menu. Today, however changed that. We walked into the establishment and were standing around looking bewildered because there was no greeter when a young African American lady came and said "y'all been helped?" then without saying anything else grabbed two menus and two rolls of silverware and began walking off. She turned to look back, so it was safe to assume that even though she said nothing, she had expected us to follow her. As we approached an empty booth she tossed the menus and silverware on the table and then walked off into the kitchen without saying a word. We stood there puzzled but assuming that we should sit. We sat there for about ten minutes, while employees, including the initial greeter walked past us without acknowledging. My husband and I went in for breakfast this morning. Very busy we completely understand the food isn't going to be super fast. We had no problem waiting to be seated. Once we were seated we ordered right away our server touched our table once in 40 minutes. Our food never came. We finally decided to leave and not wait. This was my 6th and final visit to First Watch - where do I begin - you will always wait on weekends because of slow service - no bus staff except one very slow and unmotivated individual who could care less. There was one person functioning as hostess, cashier and I guess assumed the role of manager although zero management is ever present to keep things moving smoothly. Tables sit dirty for long periods of time while people wait. The food is good specifically the Avocado Toast & eggs but by the time it was served to our table the eggs were cold. The overall appearance is not well maintained - floors not swept / food under tables / dirty silverware wrapped in a napkin / etc. - Lots of potential but without knowledgeable management, this place will fail eventually. Back to the diner where you don't wait for hours and get served quickly and with some professionalism. read more

We tried this place this past weekend and weren't overly impressed. I got a turkey wrap with egg whites and thought it was very tasty. However, for the amount we paid, it was quite small and ungenerous. My fiancee ordered the turkey burger and just wasn't thrilled with the presentation or the taste. I also tried the hash browns and found them to be so salty that they were inedible. Even worse was the cost of the meal which came in at around $30. $2.50 for a cup of coffee? $2.50 for a glass of Coke? At a breakfast/brunch joint? At those prices, I expect the food to be sublime and decently-sized. We are unlikely to ever go back. I will add that our waiter was attentive and the hostess was nice. read more

Didn't realize it was a restaurant with wait service which kind of slowed things down and is why I probably wouldn't suggest this as a spot if you're on a standard hour lunch hour. It was pretty clear from the service that this place was newly opened, but, our waiter and everyone else we encountered was really nice so that made up for it. We all opted for breakfast and the food was good, but took a long time to be made and there was some confusion with what was included in each meal and things were brought out several minutes apart. A wholesome, hearty breakfast for myself and my family. They do grits right, and being from the South, that's important to me. The pancakes are huge and the eggs are so delicious. Get their app, which allows you to view the fat, calories and sodium content of each menu item. The app also allows you to substitute other items on the menu and view the nutritional content.The people are super friendly and the ambience is cheerful. Service was quick, but not rushed. Creative and mouth-watering menu. I had the Eggs Benedict with Ham and Tomato and my husband had the Baja Turkey Burger. Both were equally good. I just wish the Eggs Benedict had a little bit more Hollandaise, but other than that, I would definitely get it again. I visited First watch in the Pikesville area many years ago and when this Timonium location popped up I was eager to try it. I ordered the French Toast monte cristo and my waiter suggested (up sold ;)) me an over-easy egg on top and it was off the charts delicious, one of the best I have ever had. It was served with really good greens and I ordered a coffee which was great. I also enjoy they have the small international delight flavored creamers so I can perfect my java as I do at home. My waiters name was Jeremy and he was outstanding, I visit him often now, sometimes 3x per week and enjoy the food, service and atmosphere. read more

This place actually has pretty good food although you will wait 35-40 minutes for it. For me it isn't worth it. Service would be better if they hired better servers. Our server never checked on us, and not once did she notice that our food had not come out after 30 minutes. Not to mention that our trash/dirty dishes stayed on the table the entire time. Spontaneous trip to brunch cafe was successful! Drove 40 minutes feeling hungry, but left with nothing but good thoughts of the place! Our server, Emily, was by far the most attentive and sincere server I have ever had at any restaurant. Food was good, and the service was even better; who wouldn't leave happy? This was my first experience at First Watch, a Thursday morning at 9:30am. I should have turned around within 45 seconds of walking in because the the enclosed foyer smelled really sour and unpleasant; then the young woman employee who hastily met at the hostess stand did not make eye contact, asked for how many (1) and took me to a table smack in the middle of the restaurant, had to ask for something a little more tucked in (there were many empty tables, was placed close to the kitchen). My waitress, another young woman, was much more pleasant with great people skills. I ordered the "1/2 sandwich and salad entree" of the roast beef/havarti on sourdough and spicy pecan salad. I liked how the water was served in a chilled glass milk qt jar with a small glass. The first employee brought my plate out to me; I was reading and didn't see her approaching, she dropped the heavy plate in front of me with a huge clunked (startled me) and said a very robotic "enjoy", again without eye contact. After commenting my concerns to my waitress, she nicely said it was that employee's first job and that she would speak to her. My meal was no better: -the sandwich was very greasy...the sourdough was coated in orange cheese when grilled; the sandwich fell apart while I was eating it. -the quality of the roast beef was poor...it had that metallic silvery-red color with very little flavor....not fresh. -the havarti cheese was melted to oblivion -the salad was OVERDRESSED, about 1/3 cup of greens with about 1/2 cup of hot dressing (I do not recall the menu saying it was a "hot" dressing, was not expecting that). My waitress could not take the salad back to add more greens (health dept regulation) but did bring out a second salad of greens with the dressing on the side...and on this salad the chef forgot to put on the avocado slices....which at this point, I decided to not request anything else. I asked for a doggie bag...which was a nice cardboard box but way too small for the salad, but again at this point I was done and did not comment. -you pay at the hostess stand; a third young woman was manning the stand, was efficient, but did not ask anyone (3 parties there at same time) how their meals or experience). -also on a side note...while sitting at my table I observed another young woman staff busing tables....she used the same cloth on about 4 tables, only partially wiping down about a 1/4 of each table... *I think in part the very young (late teens-very early 20's?) staff accounts for part of my poor experience (they just do not seem to have the skill set or personal skills....who does at that age?). I did not see any older staff on the floor while I was there;even the one cook I could see from my vantage point into the kitchen looked to be very young...mid twenties? *I was also a little worried about ordering a lunch entree during breakfast hours, but my waitress assured me that everything on the menu was served at all times. read more
