Holy crap. This place is great. To hell with ihop, Dennys and waffle house. This is classy breakfast food. No crappy slow service her. The staff is great. I had a chicken salad sandwich with greens. Next time I will try the soup instead. My daughter had french toast. My mom had some pancakes. The interior and exterior of this place is really nice. It even had a clean bathroom. I visited on a Sunday around 11am for brunch with a friend. The wait was about 30 mins but we were able to keep checking our position online which was very nice. The restaurant is clean and you can see the chefs in the kitchen cooking. I had a green kale juice that was nice and fresh! My meal was the chikichanga with fruit and cheesy grits. I'm used to having very flavorful grits but these were just plain with melted cheese on top. Not my favorite. The chikichanga was VERY delicious and the salsa on top was also tasty. Not a traditional salsa. The fruit was also very fresh tasting. I've been to this location 3 times and each time the waitress is friendly and quick with our needs. Love First Watch. Their ricotta pancakes with lemon curd and strawberries are so good. I can never eat all of it as the pancakes are as large as the plate. My husband had the Trifecta and added an egg and substituted pancakes for french toast. Also great. Their not a cheap breakfast place but at least you're getting quality for the price. read more

This is one of my favorite breakfast places. I always get the Key west crepe:) It is my favorite. I have also tried the waffles which are also very good. Bad experience! I vomited all I ate and was even sent to emergency room after having brunch in the First Watch. I report my emergency to their manager, and he said the insurance company will contact me but I never got their call! I called back a couple of times in the following half year, but never got their respond. This is really a bad experience, and I'll never go their anymore! read more

Had the new lemon berry quinoa pancakes. 3 small pancakes with no additions or sides was $10... a bit steep. The resturant was busy at 8am but the waitress was very pushy in getting tables out. She lead me to the table and before I even sat down asked what I would like to order. She came back less than 1 minute later with my drink and asked again if I had decided. My food came out super quick and she brought the bill with delivery of the pancakes. This is probably an okay experience if you are in a super hurry, but I wanted a sit down, enjoyable meal. read more

They are clearly trying to be more progressive in their menu (kale, turmeric, quinoa all make an appearance now) so I am hoping that one day soon they will realize that vegans like savory and warm breakfasts too. I've visited First Watch a while back in Cleveland and had a better memory that time. For this visit, I tried the That Works omelette but it turned out to be just an okay to my standard. YUM! No matter what we order we always are happy with our meal. A place both the adults and kids like to go and absolutely CRAVE their coffee - its so smooth and delicious. We drive 45 minutes from Urbana to go to this particular First Watch because it is our favorite one overall. The servers all do a fantastic job, the food is fantastic every time we go and it is one of the larger locations so seating and noise are less of an issue. read more

I work nearby and I go in fairly often. The waitresses are pretty and the food is good. They don't like it if you sit there with only a coffee. The eggs are standard fare and the hash browns are great. I have gotten the breakfast burrito but it had a whole wheat tortilla which isn't my favorite and it doesn't always agree with me. People joke about colitis but that's no fun, let me tell you! The coffee is fresh brewed and always nice and hot. It helps. The people who eat there depends a lot on when you go. If you go early you find older people (I am 59) and they are no fun to snoop at. A little later you can see younger women sometimes with guys and no I'm not a creeper I just watch people eat. I'm in sales! I wear a suit and a tie most of the time and if you have a paper with you don't get the weird glances. Wouldn't it be great if you could order dessert for breakfast? We enjoy this as a healthy breakfast destination. Dress is casual so it's a great spot to hit after an early spinning class or workout. I like the 'Lean Machine'. I took a star off for their long table wait on the weekends. They did add a community table which helps with that wait time. read more

We went Sunday morning with the kids--have to get there early on the weekends. The food was great, as always, except that the filling of my husband's omelet was a little cold (2 visits in a row)--could have used a few more minutes on the griddle. I had the Chickichanga...Awesome! I'm not much of an egg person but this breakfast burrito had so much going on that I hardly noticed there was egg in there. The place gets extra points for letting me customize the kids' orders without charging me for more than one meal a piece. The staff is great! I love that the waitress always gives me a sideways glance after the kids order their meals--just to double check. Always a good experience. read more

First Watch- it's kinda like the gym-you know it's there, you know you should probably get around to going soon but it seems like the day just never comes. Well finally a few weeks ago I got myself out of bed at the crack of 8 am and found my way to this poplular breakfast eatery (you didn't think I was going to say the gym did you??) My first impression was favorable since I walked right in and got a table immediately. I was meeting a friend and her darling baby so I let the hostess know I was going to need a high chair (or a booster seat?? and probably crayons and balloons and all those other things tots require- clealry Im normally childless here) Soooo after letting on that a third of my party was under 3 years old - I was rushed to the rear of the restaraunt. We passed lots of quiet corners and lovely tables by the window finally ending up in back room with other . . .families. I suppose it makes sense to keep the children together but initially I was a little shocked at all of the googooing and gagaing, not to mention the rolling crayons, flying flatware and running toddlers. Once my friend and her daughter arrived though I didn't notice the sheer chaos that familes refer to as "just another Sunday" I thought the menu contained lots of interesting choices from classics like eggs benedict to surprises like an open faced mexican frittata. I ordered the chickichanga which was eggs and lots of other fun things in a tortilla- it was tasty and had just the right amount of spice. I also sampled the cranberry pancakes, french toast and tukey sausage - all tops in my book. They seemed to have an extensive list of healthier options. Don't expect me to remember the details of the granola -egg beater veggie- what nots but know that they are there. The service was fine, nothing fantasic, but nothing disapointing either. OVerall, based on one experience it is one of the better breakfasts Iv'e had and Ill definately be back. By the time we left at about 9:30 the place was definately packed and there was a wait for seating - so (like getting the prime eliptical at the gym. . . so IVe heard) Id reccomend getting there early. read more

The food at First Watch is everything you could ask for from a breakfast place. My personal favorite are the giant pancakes--but it is nice that there are much healthier options when I feel like it. The prices are fair, as well. The reason for my two-star review, though, is the service at First Watch. The staff come off as very friendly at first, but they are constantly bothering you because they want to get people in and out as quickly as possible. I get that, but they have been outright rude to myself and others I have dined with. Last time I was there with my boyfriend, he was taking his time looking over the menu. Our waitress came by three times within about eight minutes to see if we were ready to order yet. She was clearly annoyed that we didn't immediately know what we were getting, and was cold to us for the remainder of the meal. She gave us out check right when our food came out, as if to say we should move along as quickly as possible. Another time while I was eating, I set down my fork because I was in the middle of talking and I was taking a real from my food. Without asking, my waitress took away my food. I always feel very rushed when I am at First Watch, which is a problem that they need to address. Another big problem is that they seem to treat their senior guests very nicely, but they constantly treat me with much less respect because I am a girl in college. Pretty much what you'd expect for a chain breakfast place. They were pretty busy on a Sunday around 1pm running about a 20-30 min wait. The farmhouse hash was fine. Strongly disliked that they automatically slather the multi-grain toast with copious amounts of butter -- totally ruins it. Just leave some butter at the table and those what want it will self apply. Service was not great -- after taking our order and dropping off our food, we never saw our waitress again. As such, our cups ran dry. read more

Great food. We are regulars here in Dublin and when we travel - and the food is healthy, with lots of choices. However, one slight tweak of the menu would help-change the "everyday" soup to the vegetable soup - who doesn't love vegetable soup.
