    Grilled octopus

Had heard a lot about this place and finally got to try it with good friends. Appetizers were absolutely delicious. We had grilled octopus and the homemade meatballs which I never ever order out but I must say these were excellent. The pizzas were terrific and the pasta dishes were so yummy. Finished off with a wonderful dessert so looking forward to going back.

Still the number one in Astoria! The pizza here is the top notch, the best area has to offer with a decent price. Pizza crust itself is light and airy, with that slight crisp. To me it is pure perfection. Figlia offers homemade pasta, delicious salads, and has a vaat wine collection. If you are more of a simple pizza person, I highly recommend the Margherita Pizza. If you would like to try different aspects of the pizza, then it goes without saying the two choices for you would be either the Quattro Formaggi Pizza or Cacio E Pepperoni Pizza. I have basically the majority of the pizza here and I never once been disappointed. The salads is so fresh and I love the way they are chopped where you could actually easily enjoy . The Little Gem Caesar Salad is perfect to start . I also love the Polpette meatballs for a n appetizer. It really has the homemade taste. From the moment you walk in you are welcomed . The service is impeccable. The lighting and ambiance is on point . Great for date night ! Parking is meter or local street . Plan accordingly.

I just tried Figlia for this first time. I'm shocked that they don't have 5 stars. The ambience is great, perfect lighting and not overly crowded tables. The service was attentive. The food was AMAZING! I can't wait to return.

The atmosphere is classy, old school and laid back. It was enjoyable. The staff is friendly. We ordered the pasta dish with the lamb shank pieced and the pizza with the ricotta cheese. It comes with pork meat but we ordered it without. We also got the arugula salad. The food was really good. The texture of the noodle was aldente. It was a good pasta. I wish it was salted more but that's a preference. There was very little and I mean a miniscule amount of lamb shank on the pasta. The pizza was excellent. The crust was crispy and chewy. The ricotta with the basil and the mozerella was pleasant. I wasn't a fan of the arugula salad. There was little flavor on it and it needed a salty component. There was not enough parmesean cheese on it but the salad needed another ingredient. I would come back here again. The food is good and it's light and filling. It's an enjoyable atmosphere. Radiatore Con Salsiccia

Came here on a last minute date night and was able to get seated right away without a reservation! They have a very cute set-up in the evening with candles on every table. We got the Radiatore Con Salsiccia and Cacio E Pepperoni. The cacio e pepperoni pizza was good and tasted as described. I only wished the crust wasn't as thick as it was; however, it was still pretty good. The crust size is honestly my personal preference but I think others could enjoy this dish. I absolutely loved the radioatore con salsiccia. This was a favorite for both me and my partner. The consistency of the pasta was perfectly al dente and I loved the pesto sauce. I would definitely come back here again for the pasta.

Solid pasta! I think they're advertised as a pizza restaurant though so I should try that next time. I got the pasta with italian sausage and basil pesto sauce. The pasta itself was very interesting, I really liked the shape and size of it, so easy to handle and a savory mouthful each bite. However, I was a little sad that the pesto sauce was more watery than creamy! But that's just my preference. The service was amazing and so kind, and the atmosphere was so nice. Simple, but elevated and felt cozy. I'd definitely try this place again for the pizzas!

Small portion for the pappardelle, Radiatore with sausage, the sausage is gamey. Pizza is good.

First noticed Figlia last weekend while walking past and learned they were opening in a few days, so decided to try it. I expected it to be quiet since it was new, but it was packed, so they are off to a good start. The staff was awesome, with a full dining room and bar, 1 waiter, 1 bus boy and the owner, I was so impressed with how well they did. No long waits, no issues in service, seemed like no new opening kinks to work out. They have a lovely wine list; both the Montepulciano D'Abruzzo and the Primitivo were both very good, especially with the food. We started off with the Caesar Salad and the Meatballs. The salad was cold and crisp and bursting with freshness, I could have used a little more dressing, but it was so good. The meatballs were just wonderful. Seemed mostly veal based (I could be wrong), but they were light and delicious, covered in a lovely bright sauce with some toasted bread, we mopped it all up. The star of the show is the pizza, made with fermented dough and cooked in a wood burning oven, it was nothing short of amazing. We opted for the Nudja and Burrata version which also included a lovely sauce and sweet red onions. The Nudja was slightly spicy which was balanced out by the onions; it was fantastic. The pizza crust, is so flavorful and delicious we didn't leave a crumb behind. The table next to us did not eat their crust and my husband couldn't believe they were leaving it behind. It was a sin. From the buzz of their first weekend, they may be an instant success and for my taste buds' sake I hope they are because I can not wait to go back.

Figlia~ I went with my husband on a much needed date night. We live just a block away and have been dying to try this place out. And they did not disappoint! What can I say about this place other than everything was excellent. The food, the service, the ambience... It felt like an authentic Italian bistro. There was a table having a girls' night. A few couple date night tables. And a regular, having a yummy meal alone. We ordered pizza and a pasta dish. Their dough and pasta are out of this world. And although I was full, I decided to order a dessert because I can never pass up a tiramisu. And I am so glad I did! I highly recommend coming here for a casual dinner night, or for a special occasion!

a solid spot in astoria !!! my fav route is to get pizza here and gelato at figo :) the food: got the mushroom pizza and burrata pizza, chive aglio e olio, and gem caesar salad. the mushroom pizza was a little too heavy for me but i loved the burrata!! the pasta was rlly good in texture but i wish i got a different sauce bc it lacked flavor. the drinks: i got the aperol spritz, tasted like grapefruit ade! the space: big inside!! didn't wait on a friday night the service: helpful!

Delicious food and great service! Owner and staff was very kind and attentive, and the food was far superior to other Italian restaurants I've tried in the area. It's one of our favorites now. I highly recommend the cacio e peperoni pizza! My mouth is watering as I type this.

We had tried to visit Figlia many times, but the crazy opening hours around 5 pm never quite matched our schedule. Having said that, there is no doubt that Figlia is an excellent addition to the neighborhood. Our first visit was back in June, and we found Figlia to be much bigger than we had imagined. The staff and the service were excellent, BUT our meal could have been better. Before we arrived, we decided that we had eaten enough pizza and needed a break. Faglia has great pizza, but we wanted a change. We asked around for suggestions. We only found the pappardelle to be a reasonable alternative on the day we arrived, so we ordered it for two. The pappardelle was made with ground beef and large noodles, but unfortunately, it had no taste and was unflavored; there was almost no sauce, and the meat in the noodles was dry. What a disappointing day. Yes, they are worth a second try.... who knows when?

    Meatballs. Super moist

Haven't had any pizza like this since Pizza Palace on Bayard Street by Columbus Park closed. Easy to eat half a pie by oneself. Crispy, thin crust, perfect amount of sauce and oil (about 2 drips per plain slice, not drowning, but reminds you that this is true NYC pizza), lightly cheesed, but still has a good stringy mozzarella pull. For a similar, but slightly thicker (100% yum factor) NYC slice, it's Manos in Ridgewood. For, the thinnest and crispiest plain slice in NYC, Louie's is the standard bearer. While deciding where to go one day, this was suggested and im so glad I went. The restaurant is cozy with tables inside the main dining room and in an enclosed outdoor seating area. Im guessing it opens in the summer. I sat down with my niece while waiting for my sister and for a good 5-7 minutes, no one stopped by and gave a menu nor offered water. Finally after about 3 people walked by not saying anything, someone came. The area is not that big and 7 minutes isnt that long but to sit there any not be addressed by all the staff walking by was annoying. Finally my sister came and we were offered water and a menu. After hearing about the specials and asking for recommendations, we settled on the gnocchi (housemade potato gnocchi, burrata, peas, pesto sauce, toasted pine nuts), Pappardelle alla Bolognese (housemade ribbon pasta, meat sauce), and side of sautéed spinach. The food arrived and we were pleasantly delightful by the main. The gnocchi was so soft and creamy, the sauce was delicious. Im not a fan of gnocchi but this was so good. The papardelle was my meal and it was also so good. There was a lot of pasta and a good amount of meat sauce. It was also delicious. The spinach on the other hand was bland. It has no flavor and we had to add some salt. A few times we tried to call someone over to our table but felt like no one was paying attention. When we were done with our meals, my sister had a few pieces of gnocchi left. She asked for a box as it was to be my nieces lunch for tomorrow. I then said, can you also box up the spinach. A few minutes later, the server dropped off a bag with one container and said here's the spinach. We tried to call his attention but he was already walking away. Where was the gnocchi. Finally when we came back, we asked about it and he said oh I thought it was garbage. I said no we asked for it to be boxed. He said let me talk to the kitchen. He came back and said sorry, they cant do anything but one dessert will be on me. I guess thats fine but we more wanted the food for the baby. For dessert we ordered a tiramisu and pistachio gelato. The tiramisu was in a jar as opposed to a cake slice. One bite of the ice cream and I knew it was bad. It was grainy and sandy texture. I looked up why that would be and one reason stated it could be improper storage, like it was unfrozen or melted then refrozen. I wasn't chancing that. I told the server and said I couldn't eat it. He offered another dessert but I said know, then offered a limoncello shot. While I appreciate the offer, we weren't drinking before so that wasn't the best option to offer. I just said im fine without a replacement. When we got the bill, the dessert was taken off like he said he would. We paid and left. Overall the main course/pasta meals were delicious. The sides and desserts could use work. Service was alright. Id definitely come back for the food and to try some of the pizza.
