We went early for breakfast and I got 2 eggs over easy, toast, bacon, and shredded hash browns. Absolutely delicious! Everything was done perfectly, definitely pay extra for the shredded. I grow up here in Marstons Mills. The Mills restaurant was always a great place to eat. I just went in recently and the new owners is rude and not friendly at all!!!! The waitress was nice and fast with are food. The owner was miss treating other guest and when some people came in she treated them like royalty. I think we should have all been treated with the same i'm out of kindness. We all pay the same and we as year round residence. Keep her Business alive on the off season. I hope others have a better luck then we did. read more

This was a great breakfast spot (as reviewed below). As a tip, the parking isn't so fun. The parking lot is small and we basically had to sit in it waiting for another car to leave before we could park (that was at 8am on a weekday -- I can only imagine a Saturday or Sunday morning!). When we left, there were 3 cars waiting for parking spots. The food: Yum! I had a bacon, egg, and cheese on a croissant.. and oh man! Probably the best I've had (and I get that basically everywhere I go for breakfast.. including the famous Hollywood Cafe in San Francisco -- this topped that one!). SO GOOD. The homefries and coffee were also SO GOOD!! My husband had the "all inclusive" type breakfast (which had toast, eggs, bacon, pancakes, homefries). He enjoyed his also, though not as much as I enjoyed mine. The pancakes looked/tasted suspiciously like box mix, "just add water" cakes. We hope that's not true based on quality of other food items, but they definitely looked/tasted as though they were. Also of note, the syrup was advertised as being 100% VT Maple and it came out in little glass jar sealed from California.. just of note, since we're Vermonters. :) The service: Very friendly staff, prompt service. read more

I have never posted a yelp review before but feel I need to warn people about this issue before they take the chance of eating here. I had brunch with my grandparents here today. I ordered eggs Benedict...just veggies, potatoes, eggs, English muffins, and hollandaise sauce...within a few bites suddenly the taste of sausage...I pulled a bite of meat out of my mouth...I am a vegetarian. I walked over to our waitress and asked if there was supposed to be meat in my dish thinking I had made the mistake. She said no definitely not. She showed the piece of meat to the owner/chef and he actually claimed it wasnt meat!! She offered to bring me another plate but I didn't want to stress my grandparents out. I hoped for the best but knew I'd probably encounter more. While eating it I pulled another bite of meat out of my mouth...clearly they aren't wiping the spatulas well and being mindful of cross contamination. When the waitress cleared our dishes I told her I did find another piece. She picked it up and inspected it and aplogized, agreed it was definitely meat.... Other vegetarians beware. read more

We were at the Mills Restaurant today. Just happened to be in the area and decided to stop for lunch and so glad we did. This is by far one of the best breakfast/lunch places we have ever eaten at and even though I hate to admit it we are a bit of a food snob. I can't begin to tell you how extensive their menu is. It was incredible. Our waitress was just excellent and the atmosphere while not big was real Cape Cod design and done tastefully which added to the ambiance. I have read reviews where people thought they were a little bit pricey but we didn't think so. Almost everything homemade and well worth the price. You get what you pay for and more. This is one place not to be missed. We plan on making it our regular stop every time we visit the Cape. read more

A decent brunch place in the cape but not the best I've ever had. It's a small restaurant but the wait isn't long. I came with a party of 7 and we were seated in about 20 minutes. The service here is amazing. Our waitress was friendly and attentive. The food, however, was just okay. Whenever I go to brunch, 90% of the time I order French toast. This time was no different: I ordered the strawberry almond French toast. The portion was decent and it came with plenty of strawberries and almonds on top. Typically I don't like to add syrup to my French toast because I feel that it's usually sweet enough. However, there is a first for everything and this was the first time I felt like I needed to add syrup to enhance the taste. My fiancée ordered a dish with eggs and pulled pork and he said the pulled pork was dry, leaving him to add mounds of ketchup to his food. We got the ultimate home fries to share and this was delicious. There were plenty of toppings on the home fries which made it a very flavorful dish. We also ordered the pumpkin donuts which were so soft and flavorful! Very good for a donut, however, it was 3 dollars for a small donut which I finished in 5 bites. Overall the food here is fine, but didn't amaze me. Service is great! I may come back if I'm in the area again. read more

This place is a nice find. It's tucked away and seems really small from the outside, although there's probably seating for 25-30 inside. If it's a busy day (summer time) you'll probably have to wait. The food has been really good almost every time, save for the occasional overreach from the chef on a combination that didn't compliment well. If you stick with a basic food choice you won't be disappointed. The Fig Tree has the best breakfast on Cape Cod. Their homemade pistachio donuts are fabulous. We had the spinach, sausage, tomato omelets and their "whole farm" menu option. I really enjoy each meal i have eaten at the Mills restaurant. They have a wonderful variety and made fresh daily. I read a review about a health code violation committed by a customer bringing in a outside coffee cup. I have worked in the food industry in restaurants and schools, hospitals, and corporate and private restaurants. I am also serve- safe certified and OSHA certified. In my 35 years of working in the food and beverage industry I have not heard of that being a customer health code violation. With that said , if you are an employee working with and around food you as the employee can commit a violation. The code is if you are working with or around food being served to the public all beverages needs to be in a covered container with a straw and placed under or away from prep area as to eliminate the chance of a cross contamination with other food. Most of the places I have worked also have a policy that as an employee any drink brought in needs to be transferred into a cup with lid and straw. I also know that most restaurants may have their own policy and needs to be posted, about no outside food containers brought in. I have never seen a restaurant turn away customer with a baby bottle ever. With all that said the Mills restaurant is a fantastic place for breakfast and lunch. If you are going out for breakfast and know you might be waiting , their are a lot of places that have coffee their for you while you wait. read more

We have heard great things about this place and so glad we checked it out today. Very cute place and nicest staff and owner Maria with their happy cooks. Staff all seem really happy and enjoying themselves, a good sign for us. Great menu with a wide variety. We had a Belgian Waffle with fresh fruit and whipped cream, the way we love it! We also ordered the Norwegian smoked salmon Eggs Benedict with home fries etc. Our food was served beautifully and tasted fresh and very good. We were given some chef's special Jamaican hot sauce for the home fries, yum! Maria, the owner told us she will be serving smoothies, more baked goods, local treats, etc soon. Just ate here with my girlfriend for the first time. Great experience! The restaurant has a cool vibe and is incredibly clean. Food was spot on too. I order corned beef hash every time I go out for breakfast and The Mills's didn't disappoint. Wish I knew how to do a half star. This place is great if you a local and regular. Mom and I sat at the counter. It was like we were invisible. We waited 15 minutes before we were even acknowledged. Then waited again for coffe to come. As we were waiting a regular came in and they went running over with coffee even before we got ours. His food came out promptly as we waited. Once we got ours no one came back to see if we were ok or wanted more coffee. This guy got full treatment and a constant fresh cup of coffee. Will never go back nor recommend. The tragedy behind this rating is that after going here for over 20 years, I just had that one experience that will result in my never going back. I don't know what has happened to the idea of customer service, but from the moment we walked into The Mills this morning it was an awful experience. The hostesses were rude, and acted as though giving us a table was an inconvenience to them. Once we sat down, we ordered blueberry pancakes for my two year old son. Shortly after, the owner brought out chocolate chip pancakes. After putting the pancakes in front of my son (who quickly threw his hands into the whip cream and chocolate) we asked if they could bring the blueberry pancakes (and said that the waitress could keep the chocolate chip pancakes on the table to avoid our two year old screaming out) The waitress said of course and seemed to understand. When they brought out the blueberry pancakes (quickly I might add) I was able to give the barely eaten chocolate chip pancakes (after some serious distraction) to the waitress and have my son make the transition without incident. The rest of the meal was fine (though they brought out my omelette with full eggs when I asked for egg whites, but quickly replaced them - 7-8 minutes - with egg whites). However, when we got our bill, it included two kids meals (6.50 each) for the pancakes. We reminded the waitress that we only ordered the blueberry pancakes, but she referred us to the manager who said we had ordered both dishes and that we had to pay for them. He was aggressive and crass and accused us of lying. He then rudely said that he wasn't in the habit of giving away free food. As his voice was raised, and then my voice in turn (because in the entirety of my life I've never been at a restaurant where they wouldn't comp a 6 dollar set of pancakes that they mistakenly gave to my two year old son) my son screamed out, at which point the owner leaned in and mouthed to my 2 year old to shut up. The owner is an angry, rude man who cares more about $6.50 than what should be a really easy standard of not charging customers when his staff makes a mistake.It's a shame that such awful people bought this place, but it's definitely not like the original Mills. If you have kids or generally like to be respected, I would avoid this place. read more

Stopped in for lunch today. Just happened to be in the area and the restaurant was on our GPS. So glad it was. We arrived about 20 minutes before closing but when we mentioned that we were told to come on in. I had a rueben sandwich that was wonderful, it came with a nice side of red potato salad. My son had a stromboli. Meatball and pepperoni. He said it was great and that the sauce that came with it was good. He had a nice side salad. We should have taken photos of our meals but we dug right in. Real nice staff....I noticed they really worked as a team when cleaning up for the day. Will stop in again when in the area. read more

The Mills is consistent. Usually busy, good food, inexpensive and good service. It's a diner with great options for breakfast. Nothing too fancy, but tasty and fresh. Like others have noted, so-called "Regulars" probably get special treatment here, but what do you expect in a tourist town on the Cape? They have to treat their regulars well because that's what keeps them open in the winter! That doesn't bother me so much. It's not like they treat other people poorly, as far as I can tell.
