Love that I live right near this local gem! I cannot express how awesome The Coop is. I am here every week, sometimes every day. The kitchen is amazing. The food that is cooked here is just like home. Meatloaf, pot pies, Beef stew, lasagna, stuffed peppers....the list goes on. The deli sandwiches and top notch. The staff is awesome. The owners are always smiling and talking to the customers. I love love love The Coop! Anyone who says anything negative about this place is from out of town and is miserable. read more

i've been going to this market since I was a kid. My family and I love it and the selection has always been reliable and the service great, until this summer. There is a woman who works there that gives some pretty harsh attitude and makes us not want to go back to the beloved coop. I went with my friend and ordered subs from the deli, and when the subs were ready, she had called a name that wasn't either of ours, looks at my friend and instead chooses to say "or whatever the f*** your name was". Really sad and I hope a solution arises soon. read more

Ever wonder where Aunt Bee shopped in Mayberry? They call it the Coop. Bigger than a campground market. Smaller than Aldi's. Throw in a one car garage size area of fresh produce. A couple reach in coolers. Even a freezer stocked with a local vendors chicken pot pies and desserts. The hot and cold deli counter is no slouch. Chowder, chili, and soup of the day. There only a small handful of cafe tables scattered around to eat in. A hot or cold sandwich. A fried basket. Homemade picnic salads. I wish I could recall if they sold carryout beer and wine. *2018 Update- the liquor license was sold. They no longer sell beer, wine, liquor. Stopped by here after a bike ride through Cotuit. Nice little market, it's nostalgic and reminds me of the 1950's America, where there were markets everywhere. It has that homey and traditional feel and vibe to it. They make fresh soups and sandwiches, as well as pizza and enchiladas. They sell a lot of regional products, such as Cape Cod beer, Cape Cod chips and other. I got the clam chowder, and it was by far the BEST clam chowder I've had anywhere on the Cape. They have a cute little table setting in the back where you can eat your sandwich or soup. Definitely worth checking out! read more

I adore this place (the coop). I've found the majority of workers there to be incredibly friendly and they have a nice mix of breakfast and lunch options, from prepared sandwiches to being able to order whatever you want from a reasonably sized menu. I don't think prices are unreasonable at all, I've never thought "wow, that's more than it should be" as it all seems appropriately priced for a local market. This is a very charming little old fashioned general store that is run by a very pleasant young couple. In addition to some basic groceries, they make delicious sandwiches and wraps and their chili is wonderful. For a smaller market (this ain't no Stop and Shop) the space affords a selection for any shopping list that embraces breadth--Pain De Avignon (local French Bakery) Croissants? Check. White Lion Baking Company fresh granola? Check. Black River Organic Ground Beef? Check. J Daniel BBQ sauce? Check. Deli-sliced meats and cheeses for the picnic? Check. Toilet paper for that weekly rental? Check. Some apparel that embosses the town name of Cotuit for gifts for the grandchildren? Check.--and depth (They have never run out of a half-gallon carton of milk on me, even during this whole Covid-19 mayhem). And speaking of Covid-19, if you are reading this during the Pandemic, they do offer curbside service--just call ahead with your order. I first stumbled upon this gem years ago, but after Megan and Seth took over the management and then later, ownership of store, I saw incremental improvements that have led to its current hometown feel and flair. Megan has a knack for curating the right mix of local, artisanal, and general staples to create a classic Cape Cod experience, steeped in traditional and provincial spirit. At the check-out counter you might find hand-crafted doggie treats or locally made, individually wrapped carrot cake with cream cheese icing. On any given day, the shop features a full-service deli to conjure up anything from a great steak and cheese, to their excellent take on an Italian sub and an assortment of homemade side dishes. A daily selection of soups is always available including the award-winning local, Captain Parker's Clam Chowder. They also offer a nightly homemade dinner during weeknights (warning, order ahead because they do sellout). Currently, these include Monday's wholesome meatloaf dinner, Tuesday's scrumptious chicken-pot pies, Thursday's Italian night with veg and meat lasagna, and Friday's huge racks of BBQ ribs. The meals are made from scratch, often with an accompanying side, and they are delicious--I have eaten every option on multiple occasions. Need a recommendation on best place to hike locally, or an off-the beaten path area to sunbathe? Ask anyone there. The staff--Tim, Shane, Megan, Seth, etc.--have over the years made recommendations for a unique hiking trail, or favorite beach area to me, and they have never led me astray. These folks know the Cape. In summation, it is one of my favorite places to mingle, eat, get groceries, and meet interesting out-of-towners. The service is great here at the local market in Cotuit. Sandwiches are made quickly from the amazing workers behind the counter. The food is amazing here. I totally recommend getting a grilled cheese on white bread with American cheese because it is delicious. Everything is totally fresh here. There are muffins, bagels, and much more food items made fresh for that day. The establishment is really cozy I feel. There are 3 main tables, the one in the back near the freezer, the one on the right when you walk in, and the one outside with an umbrella. There are also 3 bench tables outside for people to eat in the sun. Everyone is exceptionally nice and helpful. Cashiers will come out of their habitat and help you find something even if they are pricing items. I am a sailor at the local yacht club and every time after sailing, my friends and I go to the Coop, which a nickname for the market, and we buy 99 cent Arizona iced teas, sit down at one of the tables, and talk. If you are a sailor or a teen wanting to hang somewhere, the coop is where to be. It's a real social center. Manners will succeed you though the market. I totally recommend this place if you looking for groceries, somewhere to eat for lunch or whatever, and for hanging out purposes. read more

This is a great little grocery store. Great bfast sandwiches (although slightly greasy), muffins (if you get there before they all sell out!), and lunch sandwiches, for an overall pretty solid deli you should definitely try if you are in the area. Some of the prepared salads aren't all that though-had a pasta one that was a little mushy. They have pretty much everything you need, provided you don't mind paying a little extra for certain necessities. read more
