Update: I have spoken to the owner, and had a productive conversation regarding what can fixed for the future and he has apologized for the lack of customer service and has assured me this was a one time incident and will hopefully not happen in the future. I wish them the best! As a tourist, I had heard a lot about this local spot and was excited to try it out, but I could not have been more disappointed. The subs are horrible and extremely ordinary. The staff was not welcoming at all, did not offer to put any of the free toppings on my sub and I asked to remove one items and heard snickering comments. My friend was also waiting with me to order, and the employee just stared blankly as we were trying to order, she asked for everything on her sandwich and literally received no toppings and it was essentially just bread. read more

We decided to come up to the Cape for a few days and the Sandwich antique center was our first stop. Before we got to the antique center we were hungry and found The Deli on Yelp. It's a takeout joint with a menu of soups and sandwiches. I decided to have the special which was a cranberry chicken salad wrap and my partner had the pasta fagoli soup. The chicken salad wrap was excellent and very satisfying and the pasta fagioli was excellent as well. This is a great place for a quick lunch if you're in the neighborhood. worst pastrami sandwich ever! So it was 2:30 when we arrived, the server said she only had enough pastrami for one sandwich. We bought a pastrami sandwich cup of chicken soup and pickle then drove to the beach to eat. The sandwich was nothing more than a bunch of cold pastrami crumbs and seasoning from the bottom of the pot. There was so much water left that the marble rye was soaked and fell apart when trying to eat it. The chicken noodle soup was cold and tasteless with one lonely piece of chicken, a single tiny piece of carrot and a few broken noodle pieces. Even though the beach was a five minute drive the place was closed when I returned to ask for a refund. The best thing about this sorry excuse for a deli was that they sold lottery tickets. Alright so when I walked in I pretty much almost immediately walked out. It looked run down and cramped. But I didn't. I thoroughly enjoyed a turkey sandwich on a very yummy soft roll. They were quick and super friendly. They have a fairly wide variety of food and I was pleasantly surprised with the portions. If you want meat, you're going to get meat for sure. Very good. I enjoyed it very much. And I'm very glad I didn't walk out. I left wishing I had gotten one of the bigger sandwiches! Now if only there was seating! Get a bigger location! You guys would do so well! It's a little pricey still: $10.50/11 for larges so expect to pay like $15 with a drink, etc Not as high end or creative if you are looking for a Boursin and Roast beef or Brie and apple type place. But they do have some nice warm sandwiches : fajita or corned beef. The covid thing messed up the ordering process and we were left standing outside for 20 mins even though we called ahead and arrived when we were supposed to. I'm sure that's fixed by now read more

After reading two positive reviews on Google Local, I decided to go there tonight and try it for myself. And all I have to say is WHOA. I had an amazing turkey sandwich on Syrian bread and the portion was huge! It was so fresh and so tasty and the price was right. The deli itself is super tiny but that makes it even cooler. Plus, the owners were teaching their daughter how to ring people up while I was there, which is super endearing and great to see in today's society. This experience was pretty awful. The sandwiches were so bad that I would've brought them back, if I wasn't in such a rush to leave the cape. They were so sloppily made that it was impossible to eat them in the car, but there was no where to eat them there. Plus, the whole idea behind a quick stop deli is that you can get your sandwich and go. Speaking of quick, nothing about this experience was fast.
