Cape Codder & Chicken salad on the beach
    Haley A.

Honestly after reading the reviews about bad service I was nervous to come here but we stopped on the way to the beach for a couple sandwiches and had a great experience. The girls that work there were extremely nice and even helped us with some local tips on parking for Mayflower as the lot was full. Yes they're all teenagers but everyone we encountered was working fast and customer service was great. Sandwiches were very good, chicken salad sandwich is a must try.

Always a line at the Merc. Nice, friendly staff, but a wait for a single sandwich is not worth the 20 minute wait (or longer!).

Still a line and still quite a wait for 1 sandwich. After My first review, I have come back twice and it has not changed. The sandwiches are good, but the poorly-run sandwich-making station is killing this business. People looked frustrated.

This great little sandwich shop and bakery is probably the best "let's get something to take to the beach" place in Dennis and maybe on the Cape. Tucked off of scenic Rt 6A, it's within a 5 minute drive (20 minute walk you lazy nut) from some of the best Cape beaches around and next door to a lovely little art gallery. It's Cape Cod at it's best. I've been going here for years and I usually get the same thing. A cup of good chowder (maybe not the best from the shores but it's perty darn tasty) and a sandwich (roast beef, swiss, sprouts on fresh baked anadama bread). Sometimes chips and a drink too. From what I've seen and heard from others who go there is the rest of the food and sandwiches are beyond amazing. The baked goods have always called to me but I've never answered. I save room for the occasional second sandwich to stuff me at the beach. It's worth it. Fresh ingredients, friendly young staff, great location and the perfect spot for that afternoon snack between beaches. A Dennis tradition that should not be missed no matter where you are on the Cape.

Great food and service! We had lunch there one day and stopped for breakfast sandwiches the next. If you're in Dennis, try it out!!

Perfectly fine sandwiches, but they didn't quite measure up to the menu descriptions or the hype. Processed turkey will never be great.

The coffee, atmosphere, and creativity are incredible. We tried the Fluffy Seagull, Dockside Drag, and The Sunburn. The Fluffy Seagull was perfectly sweet and nostalgic, the Dockside Drag was one of the most unique lattes I've ever had, and The Sunburn had just the right amount of spicy kick. Every drink felt thoughtfully crafted. I also loved all the little details around the property. The Christmas trees made out of Fluff containers and lobster buoys were such a fun, quirky New England touch and made the whole place feel even more memorable.

The prices of our quiche and coffee was fair, I hate to say it but I haven't had a decent cup of coffee during our visit so far. Separately, the pie prices, at $40, seemed steep, although we did not purchase one and therefore cannot comment on if it's worth it. Parking proved somewhat challenging, as it is at the rear of the coffee shop, potentially making patrons feel somewhat confined or trapped. Nonetheless, pedestrians can access the shop easily straightforward walk-up. Upon entering, the warm and inviting atmosphere, reminded me of an East Coast Cracker Barrel, because it has an assortment of souvenirs including hoodies, homemade jams, and more. The service provided was satisfactory. Oh I remember something funny. Lol we accidentally went past the drive way and came across a dentists parking lot with a handwritten sign that said: "No parking for coffee fufu drinkers" I thought that it was kinda funny

We sported post-beach attire, but nobody blinked as this is a takeout establishment save for the small patio pit back with two wrought iron tables. There were 3 people standing in the small interior when we entered, all awaiting their orders. After spending too long considering the menu, we ordered a large megalodon, small nurse shark, and two make-your-own pizzas (pepperoni & bacon, plain cheese.) The cashier was appropriately patient while we deliberated our optAll were delicious--crispy-on-the-outside-but-chewy crust that wasn't too thick or overwhelmingly bread-y. We don't like too much sauce, especially when it burns the roof of your mouth. Fortunately, there wasn't too much on these pies. Our buzzer beeped when our order was ready (we played two rounds of hangman, but I didn't keep track of time...), and our pies came out hot. It was a beautiful evening, so we sat on the patio, taking 5 of the 6 available chairs. (Apologies to the couple who came afterwards only to discover they had nowhere to sit.) Even though the megalodon was all meat, it wasn't too salty. Each type of meat preserved its flavor while tasting delicious all together. The nurse shark had a good amount of each vegetable on it. They were lightly cooked, with the broccoli still a bit crunchy on the outside, which I like. If you prefer vegetables well done on your pizza, you might want to try another kind here. The made-to-order pizzas were tasty, as well. On another note, the Pizza Shark black cherry soda was also a delightful experience: lightly carbonated, not too sweet, and not overly-flavored. Overall, this was a terrific find for us. "A" for: - great crust, - nice ratio of crust:sauce:toppings, - tasty combinations, and - not greasy at all. I forgot to take pictures prior to eating, so apologies for the lack of accompanying photos. We'll definitely stop again next time we're in Dennis!
