Still probably the best sandwich around, but terrible compared to what it used to be. They are starting to fill the sandwich with all the other nonsense and leave off most of the meat portion. At the same time charging more. The second problem is their ordering system. They have a line for ordering and a line for paying. But they don't let you pay until your sandwich is done. So when it's busy what happens is your sandwich is done and then you have to get in a long line and wait when you could've been paid and out of there. Only way to counter this is to order online which you don't always think to do. Annoying problem that could easily be solved with common sense. There's also always like 15 people working and they still take a while to make your sandwich even if they're mildly busy. Then, like everyone else they flip around the iPad on you and ask you for a 25% tip while people are behind you in line also waiting for their sandwiches that have been sitting there for 10 minutes ​​​ read more

One of the best beach sandwiches I've had! We stayed in Eastham on a Cape Cod visit, and we were so pleased to find this spot close to Nauset Light beach. Our subs lasted us for 2 days of beach lunch, (I had an Italian - yum!) they had plenty of chips and other sides to choose from, and the chocolate chip cookies were excellent. This used to be the best spot for sandwiches! ... but it has gone down hill exponentially (while the prices have increased) over the past two years. I purchased a tuna wrap with lettuce last late summer that was crunchy from grit still on the lettuce (still gives me the ick thinking about it). I wanted to give them another try a week ago and they overcharged me for the salad and it just was not a good salad -- lots of lettuce and minimal other vegetables (yet expensive). Cute and convenient specialty market in Eastham, right off Route 6. We stopped for some baked goods and beer, but their selection of deli sandwiches and prepared foods is really good...most of the sandwiches are in the $10-12 range, which is not bad for a place on Cape Cod. They also have beer and wine choices, snacks, beef jerky, pastries, cookies, etc. The staff was really nice and friendly. Did sandwich run from Coast guard beach. I wish i took pictures of sandwich but everyone was hungry when I got back. I got 2 Italians- split between 4 of us and honestly an excellent Italian sandwich. The daughter and I are very critical of an Italian and this passed muster. Very good bread on all the sandwich. Niece's friend had a turkey club sub that had honey mustard on it and she thought it was fantastic. Also split a Cuban between my wife, daughter and I and it was really good. No question that sandwich in Eastham area are not cheap. But what matter is are you glad you spent that money. Seemed to take longer than I was told it would but I got over that. Been coming here with my family since I was a small kid!!! It's onto gotten busier over the years. We always order/grab our sandwiches and bring them to the beach. Got a Nauset light sandwich, a Reuben, and a turkey club... & a bag of chips and 2 drinks. We ordered and there was quite a frenzy... (granted it is a Saturday here at the cape ... but it is 1/4 before 3:00pm now). There was a line down the shop and around the coffee area but they had a bunch of people working. 10-15 mins later (exactly as predicted) our sandwiches were ready. This is less about my experience and all about their macaroni salad. They need to up their game in the macaroni salad department. It's awful. Compare it to Stop & Shop's or even what the Eastham Superette's, which knocks Sam's out of the water. I'm pretty sure Mac's Seafood uses the same recipe. Awful!!!!! Preface: this is the first yelp review I've ever left (let that show how strongly I feel about this). I've been coming here for years and am usually a big Sam's deli fan but just had a terrible experience. My favorite sandwich all last year was the cape cubano. I would have told you it was one of the better Cuban sandwiches I'd ever had. The Cuban I had today was terrible. 1. The bread was different 2. The bread was not toasted or pressed 3. There was more cheese on the wrapping than the sandwich itself 4. There were not enough pickles 5. The bacon tasted and looked like Oscar Meyer microwave quality 6. The ham was bad quality There are certain expectations that come along with buying a $13 sandwich. I am incredibly disappointed and I expect improvement. Food and sandwiches are good, so why only three stars?? Because they are the absolutely slowest market I've ever been to! 30 minutes to make two sandwiches. Second experience was the same. Yet, there are at least six guys in back making sandwiches and preparing orders. So many people waiting outside for their order to be filled. Sams sends a text message when your order is ready...but why is there such a slow process? They'd never make it in New York City where orders are taken and sandwiches or salads made in less than a minute, no exaggeration. Sam's Deli & Market is a gourmet delicatessen that opened in Eastham, Massachusetts in 2001. It was founded by Heather Meredith and Pam Blakely. In 2019, the business was purchased by husband and wife Tom and Susan Knight. The Knights were seasonal residents of Eastham for several years and regular customers at Sam's. When Heather and Pam were looking to sell, the Knights decided to move to Cape Cod full-time and take over the deli. Sam's offers a wide variety of sandwiches including subs, hard rolls and wraps. When it comes to deli meats, Sam's only uses Boar's Head Brand low sodium products made with no preservatives and no additives. The deli also offers Breakfast Sandwiches, salads and various types of sides. Sam's also offers a full catering service featuring sandwich platters and more. The deli building is also connected to Sam's Uncorked: a liquor store with a wide selection of beer and wine (especially local). My wife, son and I visited Sam's last week while we were on a week-long family vacation in Cape Cod. We stopped by to get some sandwiches for lunch after spending all morning at the beach. My wife and I both ordered and shared the "Coast Guard Beach" (roast chicken, bacon, avocado, lettuce, tomato and blue cheese dressing on toasted focaccia bread) and the "Tuscano" (Tuscan chicken salad, lettuce, tomato, onion and fresh mozzarella with pesto mayo on a spinach wrap). These were some solid deli sandwiches!! Just delicious! They paired well with a bag of Cape Cod Sweet & Spicy Jalapeño potato chips. I went to Sam's for both breakfast and lunch the 3 days on the cape for the 4th of July. The self service ice coffee is great and breakfast sandwiches are hot and fresh as well as the fresh bakery items. The sandwiches are killer too I couldn't go wrong with a beach sandwich for the cooler. Add extra stars for getting condiments packed on the side. Since the sandwich would get soggy in the cooler. Service has gone downhill and prices sharply up in the last year. We live in Eastham and have been customers for over 30 years. Calling ahead for sandwiches always meant picking them on arrival. We called an hour ahead to place a sandwich order and received a text that it was ready and to "head in to the cashier for pickup and payment". When we arrived, the line was more than 20 people deep. We went directly to the cashier station, which was manned by the owner. He was exceptionally rude and nasty, saying loudly, that "nobody gets special treatment on Labor Day", and to "get to the end of the line". You lost a loyal customer of 5 years today. I spent 45 minutes (past the guaranteed time) waiting in my car for the staff to tell me "sorry we missed your order". I requested a refund and left. Order volumes were high, yes. With that being said, if you have over 10+ people working the kitchen this is a management/workflow optimization issue not a volume issue. Sandwiches are pretty good. A bit overpriced but that's par for the course on Cape. The biggest detractor, honestly, is the wait time. I worked in restaurants and a busy pizza place for years. I've also eaten at delis and markets in Boston and New York with way more volume and they all crank out quality food at good prices so much faster than this place.
