I stopped at this liquor store to get some drinks. I didn't realize until coming home from my vacation, when looking at my bank deductions that they overcharged me, and by a lot. I bought two four packs of high noons, which, I believe were 11.99 each, but I wound up being charged a total of $63.98. Very disappointing. Idk if it was just a simple mistake or it's a scam they're running, but I figured I'd put it out here on Yelp incase it happens to anyone else. read more

Ordered online , arrived 15 mins after the ready time. There is a note on the order system that gives your the helpful reminder you don't need to go to the deli counter to pick it up - they will have it ready at the register. I went to the register and the clerk was young - not sure where to look for the order and I was kind and patient an said ok - he said the deli lady would be back in just a moment to assist. I waited by the counter and saw no one there as 2 other people showed up to make an order themselves. A few moments later a woman arrives and immediately curtly says "I have it but you could have asked them (the counter staff) for it" ... her tone and attitude was not like oh hey did you know next time you can ask them ? It was like DID YOU GET THE MEMO SIS?! I responded politely that I had indeed seen the clerk first and she repeated what I just said and I don't know why but I apologized... ? I don't blame the counter staff - they were young, likely new and trying not to mess up. She was downright Rudy Huxtable RUDE. they don't need my business by any means but I really love to contribute to the vendor in my own town versus schlepping uptown here or there for a decent sandwich- but I'm not going to be rushing back here for a repeat of that experience. Awesome sandwich spot about 5 min from coastguard beach! We used their online ordering- Sandwiches were ready on time and exactly how we ordered them! There was a line out the door full of hungry beach folk who neglected to order ahead of time... definitely recommend taking advantage of this option!!! The Superette is great! It has pretty much everything you need and is much less congested than the larger grocery stores during peak season. They have groceries, household items, a deli, and a large package store. Everything is reasonably priced and the workers are super friendly. read more

The staff in this place is SO rude we walked out. 5 people working (at least). No other customers in the store. I approached with my family to order a sandwich. None of the three staff members behind the deli counter could be bothered to acknowledge our existence, make eye contact, or speak to us and explain the process, which is that no orders are taken in person for sandwiches - only online due to a staff shortage. Nobody greeted us or made eye contact. They just assumed we would read all of the confusing signs and figure it out. At one point someone finally came out from behind the counter and stared at our kids rudely until they moved out of her way. No words like "excuse me kids" or even "hey, behind you!" Just rudeness everywhere. Put our stuff back and walked out. Will not be back. ps I grew up on the Cape, working in service at restaurants and take out places. I understand it's tough. A local gem. Here you can find groceries, a decent sub shop, a liquor store, and basic drug store needs. Once I stumbled in needing something for a migraine I was getting, and the clerk who helped me ran to find the medication and help me. The best service! During Covid 19 they have enacted a service to shop for your order bring your groceries outside for curbside service. I love this place. Oh, and if you want to get the local gossip, just grab a cup of coffee from the Superette. Seriously, it's low key and simple, but If you appreciate low key and simple, stop in. Just had an incredibly rude experience while trying to pick up some items for my first day on the Cape. The Superette is always my first stop but apparently their staff shortage (understandable given the labor market and COVID) has stripped who does work here the ability to have any civility. They stopped taking orders for sandwiches and they said they were just about to bring out some and so I patiently waited until one of the employees barked at me to leave the store and wait for whatever I waiting for somewhere else or make an order from outside and wait 30 minutes like everyone else. No excuse for that level of aggressiveness. I was simply trying to buy a pre-made sandwich like they kindly asked to us to do because of their labor shortage. No need to bark. I had an arms full of groceries and put them back and left. I am so sick of the Cape Cod natives treating tourists like we are horrible people for having the audacity to cross the bridges and spend our money so they can make a living and survive on the sand spit they call home. It's still the greatest,save your butt,quality,household hotspot...reasonable prices,usually same or less then our local large grocers & HONESTLY the feel,employees from deli counter to cashier's are as friendly and courteous ( even during hot,never ending lines of people) again, a life saver for locals and worth playing local on your family's week vaca !!! Eastham Superette gets 5 stars because they are always open no matter what the weather. The place is clean and well maintained and they always have what you need in a pinch when you do not feel like going to Stop n Shop. This friendly a great selection of dry goods along with a selection of fresh veggies(gotta get there early as there is a limited quantity). They have GREAt fresh cut steaks and ground beef with very comparable and sometimes CHEAPER prices then the large crowded supermarket down the road. Avoid the deli here. Entire group agreed these were some of most disappointing (and bizarrely expensive) sandwiches we've ever had. We got 5 sandwiches and they were all super small meat to bread ratio. The Italian subs had barely any meat in them - talking a few single thin sliced pieces on each sandwich. Eastham Superette definitely HAS everything you need, the problem is the counter service. I had a LOAD of stuff for our family (I have left the Cape, but all my family still lives here) and I apparently forgot the cardinal rule of checking out which is that there is ONE line, not two, even thought BOTH registers are open. SO I am standing in the WRONG line and Sandy, doll that she is, takes pleasure in calling me out in front of the entire store and tons of other customers by yelling, " There is only ONE line and you are not in it." "Oh, I say, is there a sign that says that there is only one line?". Without a word, she snarls at me and points to the ceiling! Oh yes, there it is. And if I were NINE feet tall it would be right in my line of vision, but since I'm only 5'8" I missed it. Crucify me! I was SO put off by her attitude, (as were the other customers in line who were murmuring about what a B**** she is) that I put my stuff down and walked out. I made sure to tell my family and friends as well so that they can decide if they want to deal with that nonsense or just do their shopping somewhere else. read more

Although I have been shopping here for over 8 years, the time has come to close this store. The clean little store is now a questionable dump. Each year the building is more dirty, the parking lot messy and the staff behind the counter rude. It was like a blast from the past (no Walmart or huge supermarkets). Pleasant staff for New Englanders (I am being funny), prices were higher than chain stores (I was cool with it), and it contained the basics to feed a family of six. Deli sandwiches were solid (or you can say good). read more

We went here multiple times throughout our week stay in Eastham when we needed ingredients and didn't have time to drive to a larger grocery store. They have a lot more than expected for a small market! I was impressed and enjoyed their selection and variety of meats, drinks and cheeses. read more

While we love the Superette grocery store, would never recommend buying a bottle at their wine store. Bought a bad bottle once and the manager never responded to the complaint. When I finally went back into the store, he refused to even acknowledge a problem or apologize for not contacting me even when I made it clear I was not asking for any money back and was trying to inform them they had sold a bad bottle of (in this case, expensive) wine. It is too bad as the grocery store seems well run and the location is great. Clearly need some customer service help at the liquor store they also run. read more

I have been going to "The Superette" or "Browns" as we still call it for 50 Years. The present owners care just as much and all the improvements make it still the place to shop! But the steaks for the barbecue are hands down the best. read more

Just had a very disappointing experience at Brown's. Been shopping there for more than 50 years. Bought an inexpensive bottle of wine and several other heavy items that were all put in a paper bag. Not more than a few feet from the door the bag gave way and broke the wine. When my husband went back into the store to see if they would replace it (I was confident) he was turned away. He asked if he could speak to the manager and was told that there was not one there( this on a Friday night!) How's that for customers service?! read more

Except for the occasional customer service issues (consistency is a problem with seasonal staff), this place is great for what it is i.e. small, convenient, mom and pop grocery store with a very solid selection that should address any last minute needs you might have. Went here today for some subs and soda's on our way to the beach. The food was fine. But the staff both at the deli part as at the register where so rude. Not a single smile, hello or helpfull gesture. The girl behind the register was so bad I really had to restrain myself from asking her what her problem was. Look, this is a convenience store on the cape. Limited selection? Of course. You can't fit as much in a smaller building as you can in a Stop and Shop. But I dont think anyone plans on doing the weekly shopping here. That being said, considering where they're located and their clientele, they are pretty competitive price wise. I know. I ran out of coffee one morning and went to the Superette. Later that week at Stop and Shop I checked the price of the same thing. SnS was more expensive. Their meats are very good as are their sandwches. They have great breads in the morning but they go fast and they are always friendly and the liquor store is pretty well stocked too. read more

I will continue to urge everyone to go here if they need anything on their vacation and don't want to go to Shaws. it is incredibly old fashioned, and will offer you competitive prices.
