I loved the One Stop for decades. Since the last owners sold it I no longer know what to make of it. Where once there was a local beach community market with everything you might need, now there is a weird cafe with pretensions and not much more. they're not open half the week, Every time I want to go down the street to pick up a staple, I find it's closed. when I feel like walking down to grab some dog food, a sandwich, some candy for the kids, some cigarettes, a lottery ticket, milk, sunblock, etc., as in days of yore, I know it's no longer possible. because in the place of a ready everything market in a beach town, I'll find empty shelves--on the few days of the week it's open-- and ppl over-eager to sell me faux high-end coffee I could get anywhere in town but who don't know the beauty of a little local beach market where you come to get the paper and sunrises in the morning, but who've renovated a great place like that into a useless cafe no one goes to anymore bc it serves no damn purpose. they misunderstood their niche and won't last long now. which is a real shame because the One Stop used to be a terrific place. if current owners want it to stand a chance, they need to hire the college kids from abroad in summer like they used to and keep it open on Sundays Mondays and Tuesdays. otherwise all the cute and new goes to waste and their demise. I write this on a Tuesday I'd have been happy to go buy things there but alas cannot. read more
