We were pleasantly surprised that there were plenty of open tables inside and outside. What we didn't know is that there is pressure to place your order at the counter because there was about a 40 minute wait for food because the kitchen was switching over and finishing up after breakfast. The staff were friendly but there was a busy vibe and I wouldn't say they were particularly helpful - mostly because of no dedicated spot for lining up to order and the woman behind the counter kept instructing people to move the line back so that the food could get carried through. It felt like the person in charge of directing traffic (and there was a young man in charge of this!) should have been enforcing the spot, the printed menus should be moved to this spot instead of on a post in the middle of the "food carrying zone," and that person should also point patrons in the direction of the many specials boards. As they dubbed themselves, "Sandwich's sandwichery," I ordered the Mother Hen sandwich- I was drawn to the avocado and bacon. It was served on a ciabatta style roll and was very tasty. I ordered my sandwich "light on the herb mayo" as I'm not always a mayo gal. It could have used more. I was also tempted by the GIANT pastries they had on display but didn't want to go overboard on day one of vacation. As we sat waiting for our food, we saw lots of people coming in for take out as well as ordering to eat-in. Families, large groups, couples, and solo diners all seemed accommodated. I noted it would probably be a fun place to grab sandwiches to go and eat at the beach or some other outdoor place. During this time I also noticed several other specials that looked really intriguing but in my panic to get an order in, I missed the signs entirely.
