The home made chicken broth as a base to the linguica, bean, and kale totally makes it. We split a Rueben and it was one of the best in our long lives. Bread was toasted and the interior was broiled. Yes, I know some grill it, but it was nice not to have to have the exterior too oily. Like the soup, the balance between the ingredients were really considerate and perfect. The sauerkraut was fresh and crunchy. When we ate the pickle, we looked at each other because it was so fresh tasting, not overly vinegary or salty, a really pleasant cucumber experience. We took home a creamy lemon cheesecake type square, and again, balanced is the word. Not cloyingly sweet, but light and such a pleasure to eat. This really was a find off the beaten path. If for not staying at the Autocamp down the road, I would have never discovered it, even with the Diners, Drive-ins and Dives connection. By the way, Art (husband and co-owner) was a pleasure to nerd out with about all of the ingredients and techniques.

It was a solid sized portion with a good hearty sauce and nice accompaniment of mashed potatoes and broccoli. www.gotofathers.com/gallery-1 It's an understatement when they say it's a generous portion of Cod for the fish & chips. It's huge, well breaded and excellent. The fries were also a massive pile and while a bit over seasoned, were more than fine. No issues with the service either as it was early on a Saturday afternoon and things weren't too busy yet. Door to door in a bit more than an hour was perfect. No issue if I'm in the area again to come back, although I still cast a beady eye to the thought that they serve pizza here with peanut butter & bacon. Geez.

First, the positive. The service was great. Our waitress was kind and observant. The craft beer list was very, very good. A little of something for everyone. I would give this section 4 stars. Now, for the food. I had the personal pizza, half cheese, half grilled chicken. The chicken was good. The star of the show though was the dough. Crispy, flavorful, cooked to perfection. Unfortunately, the amount of cheese threw the balance off. There was simply too much. Now, you might be thinking to yourself, "wait a second, there's no such thing as too much cheese" but friends, there is. The sauce was fine, maybe also a bit too heavy handed. Three stars for the pizza, but the dough deserves its own stars, which I would give 4, maybe 4.5 stars to. In my own humble opinion, if they toned down the amount of cheese and maybe the sauce, they could have the best pizza on the Cape.
