This is one of my boyfriend's favorite spots in sandwich and he brought me today! I enjoyed my breakfast very much and love that they have a coffee shop attached. I got a caramel latte to go. Update to my review from 2017: Hubby decided he wanted to try out Marshland again as it has been years since last we visited this in-town icon. We dropped in around 5:15pm. Not busy at all. One very odd guy at the counter and 3 deuces besides us in booths. Hubs tried the Buffalo Chicken Tenders which he said were unremarkable but fine. I had the meatloaf dinner with mashed potatoes and the 'zucchini medley'. In all honesty but for the oiliness of the gravy my dinner was really good and so hot that I had to adjust everything in order to release some of the heat. The meatloaf was serviceable and a large portion of it (I'm having the remnants as a sandwich for lunch today), the mashed potatoes were definitely from fresh potatoes as I found a not unpleasant chunk of unmashed potato in there. The zucchini was a real treat with caramelized zucchini, which I love, crispy shallots and grape tomatoes. All, as I said, piping hot. The service and food were great! We stopped here spontaneously finding this local gem. My husband had the lobster roll, my son the reuben, my daughter the burger, and myself, I had the pot roast. Everything was so delicious, freshly made, with great portion sizes. My little ones were starting to get a little fussy when the waitress brought over some colors and paper. We had been to the Glass Museum nearby and had asked for a recommendation for a place to have lunch. Good choice. Parking was fine, even on a rainy day. We were seated and served promptly by a very friendly young woman who made us feel quite at ease. We both had fish and chips and were very happy. Portions were larger than we had expected and the breading was just right. The bakery was a treat as well and we brought home brownies and scones for that evening and the next morning. Such a cute little diner! I love sitting at the counter and parking is reasonable (unlike some places on Cape). The food is consistent and good; there's even a little takeout section for coffee and pastries if you don't want to sit. Service is good - although like many places it can be very busy at peak hours. 9/20/24 We received a recommendation from a young man at the Sandwich Glass Museum. I had the Scallop Platter with fries and coleslaw. The scallops were very lightly breaded and perfectly fried. The fries were excellent! The coleslaw was very good. My wife had an egg over easy with home fries and marble toast. Excellent home fries. From the Bakery. The Whoppie pie and chocolate chip and craisin biscotti were very good. The carrot cake was one of the best I tasted but a little dry. The pistachio muffin was excellent. The best my wife ever had. Breakfast is amazing at this restaurant that returned to Forestdale to add to its multiple locations. The menu has multiple offerings and they customize any way you'd like. The location is roomy, clean and service is pleasant and attentive. The pan omelette is generously filled with many combinations to choose from. We came in here because it smelled good as we were driving by. We split a crock of clam chowder, which was good. My husband got the clam strip plate and it was fantastic. I have dietary restrictions. I asked if they cook the eggs on the same griddle as they do meat & was told "cook uses a separate pan for eggs". Got an omelet - it was greasy & every bite tasted of bacon so I couldn't finish it. I should've been suspicious when I saw green things floating in my water. When I showed it to the server her reply was "oh, its just parsley". News flash - if I wanted parsley in my water I would have asked for it. Husband also had an omelet ... it was under cooked, runny and the potatoes were saturated in grease. I guess if you like a greasy meal, its the place for you. Small and crowded, with apparently no regard for Covid safety, Marshland is a germ petrie dish, sorry to say. The food is good however. The omelet and side salad is massive. Comes with tater tots and big toast. The grilled Ruben was just ok, but as a former New Yorker, my standards are high. We waited about 25-35 minutes to be sat, but it was absolutely worth it! The food was absolutely wonderful and the atmosphere was super calm and fun. Some of the decor makes it feel like an old country style kitchen and it's just overall lovely. My wife was in the mood for oatmeal and I was in the mood for lobster egg Benedict. I called up to confirm that they had oatmeal at noon time and was told yes. Had to flag down the waitress to get a refill on my coffee while waiting for breakfast. Breakfast came my wife's friends toast was cold waitress said oh I'm sorry they were just waiting for your eggs Benedict to get finished. I guess the cooks don't understand, the concept of timing the orders so that they're done at the same time. On the other hand, my eggs Benedict were wonderful and had General portions of clam meat. Had to flag down the waitress again to get a refill soda for my wife. All the waitresses congregate around Each other and chitchatting without looking at the dining room floor to see who needs what read more

I am still thinking about what a terrible dinner it was. The next table over placed their order, then we got their menus. We placed our order shortly thereafter. Their food was served while we waited. They finished their food while we waited. Finally, my wife went and asked about our food - 2 sandwiches. They gave some excuse for the delay. We should have just left. A Rubin sandwich is supposed to have thinly sliced meat. They added chunks of meat. The bread is to be toasted. This bread was burnt. Fries are to be crisp. These were mushy. We sat in front of largely uneaten food when the check was dropped on our table without a word and the waitress disappeared. We were never asked about our meal. I am just waiting for hell to freeze over so I can consider returning there. read more
